S09.E16: The Positive Negative Reaction
Gulftastic replied to Zahdii's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
You are more than welcome to the dreadful dirge. A national anthem that makes no reference to our country, it's a nonsense based around deference and religion, neither of which is to my taste. I refuse to sing it. I long for the day we get a decent anthem. -
S09.E16: The Positive Negative Reaction
Gulftastic replied to Zahdii's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
A good episode, but I think my favourite thing was Leonard's contribution to 'Bust A Move'. -
How did Phil sleep-hoverboard down the stairs? My favourite gag was the one about Claire feeling like a little girl when she sits behind her father's desk.

TDS 3.0: Season One Talk
Gulftastic replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in The Daily Show With Trevor Noah (2015-2022)
And Cruz has porn stars in his commercial! -
Good ep. I laughed a lot of times. They even gave Penny and Leonard an actual plot to themselves this week.

DC have tested my life long loyalty over the last few years. When the new 52 kicked off, I was reading Batwoman (till they ruined it, then cancelled it) World's Finest (till they ruined it, then cancelled it), Legion Of Superheroes (till they cancelled it), JL Dark (till they cancelled it) and Supergirl (till they cancelled it). I will not read any of the 'big' names, as I have neither the time nor money to get dragged into the inevitable crossover events. The only DC I read now are Justice League 3001, Earth 2 Society and Bombshells. Now, for the first time in my life, I read more from other publishers than I do DC. Buffy, Angel & Faith, Huck, Saga, Mercury Red, Jupiter's Circle, Lazarus, Miracleman, Black Magick.

I really enjoyed the episode. Everyone had stuff to do, and most of them interested me. I really liked Fiona getting a happy ending (of sorts) for a change. The pillow fight scene was lovely. It'll never last, of course....

S09.E14: The Meemaw Materialization
Gulftastic replied to shapeshifter's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
Mee Maw was OK for me. I like that she wasn't too 'big' in her personality. Sheldon's utter devotion to her is from her being his Mee Maw. not because 'everybody loves her', which I found more realistic. Others shouldn't be able to appreciate her like he does. 'Grandma Spiderman' made me chuckle. Good shout out to the excellent 'Saga' which pleased my comic geek side, but then Mee Maw was using a comic book as a coaster for her hot beverage! NNNNOOOOO! -
Lexa proposed. They're going to kill her, aren't they? Now bloody Bellamy is a sort of widower, it'll ramp up the Bellark nation even more.

I'm over everything about magical child Brandon. Get rid of him. His scenes drag the show down for me. Jesus isn't much better.
-
Not the kind of swapping spit that Lexa had envisioned upon their reunion. Clarke's look of fury was scary. And hot.
-
Why do they need to bother with a romance for Callie? Couldn't they surprise us all by making her campaign to help foster kids be the main focus for her character? I was very glad when Marianna realised which picture and campaign manager was best for her. And Steph in her reading glasses is always welcome.

Dominique's Dad literally laughing in Carl's face got big LOL's from me, as did all his teachers whipping out their pieces when a canteen tray was dropped. The song was a dick move from Gus. I know she hurt him, but that sort of public flaying was way out of order. Loved Fiona giving Debbie a big fat truth sandwich. Still, it's hard to tell a teenager they are wrong. I remember being that age, and I shudder to think what went through my head back then. Very relieved that the car accident/rescue seemed to stop Ian committing suicide, but if that is the way they intended, I hope the fact that he was on the brink of something so drastic is at least discussed again. And he's found a hunky fireman to fall for. Bonus.

Emmy Rossum's beautiful sad eyes make me want to hug her. Fiona is now pregnant to a junkie, raising kids that aren't her and resent her for doing so.
-
Sophie made me laugh this week. First time since season two, I think. The but where she showed her skill at accents was hilarious. It shows how much more the actress has to offer compared to the tripe they normally write for her,

Of course she fell in love with the parents. They were Fonzie and Elaine!

In Memoriam: Those We Have Lost from the Music Industry
Gulftastic replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Music
Terrible news to wake up to. They played 'Life On Mars' and I burst into tears. RIP Thin White Duke. No one as cool. -
They got very lucky with Lilly 2.0. The girl is developing into a fine little comedienne.
-
Chemistry like Clarke and Lexa have should not be wasted by the show.

Lovely episode. Warm, comfy Xmas viewing.

S09.E11: The Opening Night Excitation
Gulftastic replied to MMLEsq's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
Loved the episode (and The Force Awakens, which I saw yesterday, naturally....). I was worried to start with that they were going to play it as if Sheldon didn't really want to have sex, but was 'going along' with it for Amy. I was also worried that when their date started, Sheldon would spend ages making jibes about 'I couldda been seeing the new Star Wars...'. Instead they pitched it just right. It was very sweet. I liked 'We can find out together' from Sheldon. And how is Mayim not Emmy nominated this year? She's been consistently fantastic all season. -
Three main wishes. 1) Do not kill Lexa 2) DO NOT KILL LEXA 3) Lots of Clexary goodness
-
That was one heavy ending. New Phil must be a gonner, but Space Brother will probably make it. They couldn't kill them both, surely? I like Gail and Todd holding hands to steady her nerves.

S09.E10: The Earworm Reverberation
Gulftastic replied to TheOtherOne's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
Now that Sheldon has had this revelation, I hope he realises how lucky he is and attempts to change his behaviour towards Amy. -
Didn't mind. I like the notion of Clara and Ashildr being their own version of The Doctor. I'm sure they'll be back at some point. I can't wait to see how the internet reacts if they do. It's be epic. Anyway, one thing. Ashildr is immortal, but it was established that she only had a finite memory. How does she remember the Doctor billions of years into the future?
