  1. It seemed like they used to alternate weeks with the HOH conclusion on the show vs the longer endurance comps. Now they just said to hell with it, yall gon' get this HOH when we're good and damn ready lol. I wasn't hating on Mark in the pink shorts ?...hey boo ?. Production can we get a "punishment" for Mark where he has to wear only a speedo for a week? Dom, Dom, Dom, we were rooting for you, we were all rooting for you. After that cringeworthy speech, she can go and stay gone. Good for Jessica for not using the halt. Hopefully she can bust it out when Cody comes back ?. Did it say if she could use it before or after the votes are cast?
  2. I just googled Video One KDOC and Request Video came up which was the show I was looking for! (The host was brunette not ginger lol) Thanks so much :) off down memory lane I go...
  3. Hope that wasn't a spoiler. Its pretty much the whole plot of the series so I thought it would be ok.
  4. HBO is doing a free preview weekend so I'm just now watching but I wanted to see if anyone else saw a similarity with the show "The OA." In that show the main character dies over and over to cross into another dimension to learn movements that will stop some cataclysmic event. Kevin dies over and over to try to learn a song to stop the end of the world. I dont think one borrowed from the other, they were probably shooting this before The OA was even released. But if this plot point is in the Leftovers novel (which I haven't read so I don't know), then...?
  5. Did anyone see the GLOW doc on Netflix? I watched it probably a week or so before I even knew this series was coming so I had a little refresher course. I was kind of disappointed that there weren't any cameos from the real GLOW wrestlers. Maybe next season? Ah yes KDOC. I live up north now but grew up in LA and the Inland Empire. I remember a lot of Green Acres and Mr. Ed lol. Off topic but you wouldn't happen to remember the video show that used to come on KDOC in the late 80s/early 90s and played a lot of alternative like "Mothers Milk" era Red Hot Chili Peppers and Jane's Addiction. It was hosted by a young woman, red head I think. I've been looking for it online and can't find it.
  6. Lately I've been listening to a YouTube vlogger named Chrissie. She does a lot of excellent videos on the topic of colorism and she would have a field day dissecting this show and the character of the biracial best friend (whose name escapes me and I don't feel like Googling it). In the last episode Michaela Cole's character even says something like you're mixed race, you're supposed to be more smarter and more evolved. As much as I'd like to believe it was meant to be ironic (that's probably not the right word), but something tells me she probably wasn't. I enjoy the show as a peek into Black working class England but the shades of colorism that run through it leave a bad taste in my mouth.
  7. He's hipper than you lol. 2 Chainz is a rapper who is pretty hot right now with the youngins.
  8. If I remember correctly, in the episode where Hazel is introduced Tami said that she has young women that she's taken under her wing that she refers to as her "nieces."
  9. Just did a quick read through of this page and...this is why I was never one who wanted a Bachelor/ette of color, particularly a Black one, and I'm Black. What is normally a silly, ridiculous, guilty pleasure that I come to this board to snark on along with all you fine folks, has become a sound off on race relations. Is it an important conversation to be had? Sure but there are better shows that are addressing it. There have always been people of color in the mix on this show since season 1, but somehow having the object of affection be a POC has changed the entire dynamic. It's unfortunate and I saw it coming from a million miles away. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratings were down nor would I be surprised if we never saw a Black Bachelor/ette again. Rachel is by far and away the best candidate they could have ever asked for and it's still falling flat and overly serious (and killing the tone of this board). I'll still peek my head in from time to time but damn y'all it ain't that deep, it's just The Bachelorette. My apologies in advance if my grammar is not up to snuff for some of you (sheesh smh).
  10. I agree. I'm a dog lover, but Wacha is not ready for primetime. Andy's trying to be like Chelsea Handler but Wacha is no Chunk (and now Tammy). He has shown time and time again that he does not have the temperament to be in contact with a lot of strangers and especially with all of that stimulation with the audience and lights. Leave his ass at home lol.
  11. During the first episode I tweeted that Jermane reminded of Gary with da Tea from the Rickey Smiley radio show and quite a few other folks agreed. The Rickey Smiley show is also featured on Dish Nation (with RHOA's Porsha Williams) and several of the on-air personalities are featured on other reality shows where Gary pops up as well. That may be who you're thinking of. Jermane actually responded to my tweet so of course he's been my favorite ever since lol.
  12. Because it drains a lot of energy to put your legs on one leg at a time.
  13. Mad TV lol...that song pops into my head everytime I watch BiP.
  14. So Linda's a sociopath. I mean it's one thing to leave the girl in the snow when she was clearly out of it, but the manipulation of the cop and the other sorority sisters...damn! She's a cold piece as my folks say. I don't think they specified the year but I was thinking Linda and I must be around the same age because my college years were late 90's/early 00's and those chunky blonde highlights in the flipped 'do looked very familiar <shudder>. Even then I thought the styles were stupid and ugly. Chokers, baby tees and bell bottoms y'all lol.
  15. I didn't re-watch last season so I don't remember but I thought they had either called it quits or cooled off. He was about to hook up with Fitz (?) and never mentioned her one time in the negotiations. Even though that would be weird even if they were broken up.
  16. Same here. Add to that the fact that Uzo Aduba's portrayal is so hyped up as "brilliant" that what started as a sideline character that really should've been on the same level as the meth heads, has gotten pushed to the foreground.
  17. ITA, the empowerment then sister wife talk made no sense but I'm guessing that was some kind of display of cultural sensitivity while playing into the overall girl power feminist tone of the show and it wasn't handled well...which is par for the course for OITNB, but I still watch lol. I was here for the Magic Mike shenanigans. I expected it to just be the typical corny white guy who can't dance stuff but he actually had moves. I would make it rain on him, or at least sprinkle.
  18. He was a good sport. Loved when after the horse dropped a deuce he quoted one of the T-shirts in the shop and said the horse was too glam to give a damn(?) lol. Well if Rachel doesn't want him, Fred can come right this way with his "bad" self. He was one of the more attractive guys there imo and I thought his backstory of having a crush on her as a kid was adorable. At this point I'm team Kenny (minus all the daughter talk) but he won't be the last man standing.
  19. Yeah, been there and done that so I'm a Nina apologist. It was actually uncomfortable to watch her because I could see myself and other people's reactions to me mirrored on the show. I'm low-key relieved she's gone but I hope she sees herself and makes some necessary adjustments. Oooohhhh what if they did an All-Star seasons with all the similar style queens? Sasha, Katya, Pandora Boxx, Jinxx, Tammie Brown, etc all going head-to-head!
  20. Say what now?! If I know TLC the way I think I know TLC she'll have her own show about this...or they'll be on the next season of 90 Day Fiancé.
  21. Yep...stupidly and boringly. I want to see twists and turns and scheming and plotting and backstabbing. If I just wanted to watch athletic prowess, I'll watch sports.
