  1. Looks like they taught Cersten to do basket tosses for it, so she was one of them. She has a video on her IG but I guess she's private.
  2. I finally got to see it, too. The actual bacon comments were even weirder than I thought they'd be. And they wonder why Yuko isn't understanding all their critiques. I think it was kind of mean of them to keep Emily one more day when they flat out said it takes years to fix turnout. I agree. Also I liked Kyndall last year and think she should have made the team, but this year there's something off about her to me. Maybe it's the edit or maybe she was just more down because of losing her job, but doesn't seem to have the same spark.
  3. I'm so glad someone else noticed! I think they're upper-only veneers.
  4. This is the first part of the hip hop routine. I know that other two have been posted by someone -- maybe they can be dug up again.
  5. Is she really "barely good enough" to make the team when she got a Barbie for her solo? This past episode it sounded more like they just felt that her dancing hadn't been up to the standard she set for herself rather than actually bad.
  6. And don't forget a NY Jets cheerleader before that! I've actually never watched this show but I plan to (and hang around here a bit more) for Jasmine.
  7. I know Abigail Jenkins was an SG alternate her first year. I'm sure there were others but I remember Judy yelling at her the next day and she freaked out a bit. There was a really quick moment this episode where they showed the group leaders demonstrating the jump split, and it just made me so happy for Danielle, who I've always liked. She gets a lot of praise for her looks, but to see her as a group leader and showing one of the hardest moves they do is a pretty big endorsement for her dancing.
  8. Was it way back in the first 2-hour show that a TCC moved in with an older married vet? I know it was a long time ago.
  9. But that's the whole point of the fan vote--to capitalize on people who have extensive social networks to promote the team and the show. If a finalist is a great dancer with tons of personality chances are she'll make camp anyway.
  10. I couldn't navigate to them on my phone. I just googled "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders bios" and got there that way. The web site is not particularly well designed for mobile.
  11. She also has a job. I know when my husband was interviewing for med school in the late 90s a lot of them were starting to favor applicants who had done something after graduation rather than coming straight from undergrad. He took his MCATs before he graduated (and killed it) then did clinical research for a year. It makes you a more well rounded student, and just from what I saw in his class the people who came straight from undergrad were kind of basketcases with no lives outside of class. Having a fun little fact like "I was a DCC" can make her stand out among the thousands of applicants. I noticed this episode that Emily clenches her teeth when she talks. I can't tell if it's something she tries to do to make herself smile or something or if she has an actual jaw issue.
  12. I think it's just those stupid shorts. Her hip bones are sticking out as far as her "muffintop."
  13. The "noodle" could be Denise Dicharry. Her IG name is Neecie Noodle. https://www.instagram.com/neecienoodle/?hl=en
  14. I'm interested to see more of Tasha's actual dancing. From what they've shown she looks sleepy to me. I know in her solo she probably was going a little lighter to not flash the judges, but it seems like every clip of her dancing is like that.
  15. I know she said on IG that she would be performing in the last game, so I'm guessing she's OK. I still never heard how she got it.
  16. Something that bugged me about the question for Kat regarding what she would wear to an appearance, do the DCC ever wear street clothes to appearances? It looks like they either wear their official uniforms or track suits or something like that everywhere. It just seemed like a dumb way to set up questioning Kat's choice of outfit.
  17. I agree about the slim pickings. There were 204 in the stands at the start of tryouts, and I think Kellie said they took 104 to the next round. That's a 50/50 shot of getting past the first call.
  18. Aw, I really liked Royesha. She seemed sweet, poised and was so positive. Speaking of positive, I think if it were up to Kristi Scales they'd all make it. Although she does make astute observations, too. Aaaand on another positive note, judging from the number of girls who ran up to hug Holly P. when their names were called I'm guessing she's well liked.
  19. This is for anyone who has been to a game, or an expert. So it looks like the DCC do two entrances for games. The big one starting from the endzone before Thunderstruck fairly early in pregame, then they do another from the 50 yard line. Is the second for player introductions? They never show them rehearsing that on the show (that I remember). About how much time is there between the two?
  20. But Belk gave those to them to wear, so that's A-OK.
  21. I think Stephanie is the one throwing off the photo--everyone else is bent at different angles so their heads are even but she's standing straighter so it makes Yuko look even shorter.
  22. OMG the announcement at the end! That is some terrible security. I've never seen a stadium fight go on that long.
  23. That's really sweet of her! A lot of people in Hawaii speak a little Japanese because just about everyone has some Japanese ancestry.
  24. I'm pretty sure she didn't actually compete in the Olympics. These are the national teams back to 2001 and I couldn't find her. Unless Kat Rogers is a stage name--there are a couple Ekaterinas--or she competed for another country. https://usagym.org/pages/rhythmic/history/past_nat_teams_sr.html https://usagym.org/pages/rhythmic/history/past_nat_teams_jr.html
  25. They also usually tour, which I imagine is a good chunk of money. http://www.kelloggstour.com/36-cities-will-play-host-2016-kelloggs-tour-gymnastics-champions/
