  1. Yeah that's what happened. I'm confused about why they were dancing during a play and had their backs to the field. But really this happens all the time during games and if you're on the sidelines you need to be aware of the play to avoid it. It won't let me post a link but if you just search "Jason Witten runs into a cheerleader" it comes right up. ETA: I want to clarify that players run out of bounds all the time and anyone--not just the cheerleaders--needs to be aware of what's happening.
  2. It sounded like "we've been dreaming about this day for so long and it's finally here" or something to that effect. Now I'm wondering when her wedding is and how Kelli is going to work it around training camp.
  3. I do think shooting in an "exotic" setting is part of it. Probably influence from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit where that was something they always tried to do.
  4. I see so many issues with it you can probably take your pick. Proper compensation for the team members' time on the trip, poor sales (I can't imagine calendar sales are good anymore, but I also feel like men really don't buy them), the NFL might have literally said no more, etc.
  5. They're the cheerleaders for the team. If they started the season assuming the team is going to lose that would be pretty sad. Or at the very least horrible optics if it got out. Although I think it's just "keep these dates free" level of assumption until they get further into the season. A few years ago (back when Danielle and Jenna were on the team) and the Cowboys were having a really good season, a local newscaster was at one of the practices and went live and Judy was saying how they had just sat down and planned out their schedule for the offseason.
  6. I think Kelli really liked her. She sort of looked like her daughter (and I think they became friends), and they liked her sob stories too.
  7. The current squad was out there the whole time dancing each section with the alums. And really nobody cares about halftime. I’ve been to plenty of NFL games and I don’t even remember there being any halftime shows, other than when I went to the NFC championship game in Seattle and Alice In Chains played.
  8. It’s probably not impossible, but if you’re carrying a full load of classes and getting a decent grades matters to you it’s probably very difficult to juggle both, and you’d basically have no free time. It’s also more than just rehearsals. The beauty appointments alone would take up a good chunk of time plus expectations for working out and practicing on your own. And most US colleges are on the semester system and start in August, so there would be overlap with camp. I’ve always wondered how they swing the calendar shoot with school.
  9. Cassie’s injury was different because she had originally gotten it before she made the team and kept re-aggravating it. She should have never auditioned her last year because she knew there was a good chance ahead of time that she was going to have to sit out most of the season. But I think her and her mom were hellbent on her getting 5 years and a shot at Pro Bowl and VotY.
  10. I assume she was too smart and too together/mature to be as much of a "yes ma'am" type as they want.
  11. It doesn't seem uncommon for former DCCs. I remember this "interview" with Candy Branson came up when Cami tried out and it's, well, I'll just say it's a lot. http://www.alumnicheerleaders.com/profiles/blogs/after-the-poms-with-candy-branson-daughter-cami-former-dallas-cow
  12. I’m studying for a professional certification test right and I open my Notes app and use voice to text to take notes on my reading. Then I email them to myself and paste them into a Word document. I don’t know if voice to text was a thing when Kelli was doing it but I’m sure there are other transcription options.
  13. On the America’s Girls podcast one of the women who was interviewed said that her nipple came out once during a game and security went to the photographer who was right in front of her and demanded his film.
  14. I had a bit of a dark thought. I may be misremembering but I think some people saw a couple extra pounds on VK in the off-season her second year. I hope she wasn’t told to take the year off to get her weight “under control.”
  15. I think they used to be even more cavalier regarding changing looks to have the squad look how they wanted. Meredith Oden mentioned that they made her wear blue contact because they already had a redhead with green eyes. A cheerleader named Michelle Parma who was on the squad in the mid 90s was on Road Rules on MTV right after she retired as a DCC. She was on a season of the Challenge a few years later and said she had hated being a redhead while she on the show, and I assume she been made to do it by K+J. (She also said she had a very bad eating disorder, but that’s a discussion for another day.)
  16. This is a really interesting point that brings up a question for me. Say they get a new network/streaming service to air the show. Would they have to pay to use older footage? I could see that being a con for picking it up.
  17. I’m not sure how far Melissa W made it her first year auditioning but she didn’t make camp.
  18. Not especially, but they did say something specific was their idea, so that could have made them identifiable.
  19. If she had said "for the year" she would have been called out for assuming she was going to the make the team.
  20. I think Raylee’s cut was really surprising, both to her and her friends. I think it’s part of the reason a few people retired at the end of that season (Stephanie, Simone).
  21. The Texas Monthly article came out on a Thursday, and it said the crew had been informed earlier that week. As far as I know the article was the first the public was made aware. The author contacted Kelli but didn’t get a response, so they knew the news was coming out. I don’t think CMT ever released anything.
  22. When Kelsey Lowrence auditioned last year she had to submit a video. But it’s always up to Kelli.
  23. The Brittney is on weight watch thing never made sense to me until they showed her demonstrating "shut the car door" hips to Chandler. There's no fat on either of them but Chandler had a much smaller frame and Brittney looked wider next to her. Obviously My Fit Foods can't shrink your skeleton but this is the bunch who thinks that all women who are the same height should weigh the same.
