Kitty isn't an official judge, but I'd say her opinion matters more than these random people who actually sit there through auditions. It sounds like she gives reports to Kelli and Judy throughout prep class season, and they bring her in during training camp to evaluate everyone. And I think she is a judge for show group.

I'm surprised they're wearing solid color tanks. I remember the demonstrators wearing Cowboys gear before.

Didn't we figure out that Melissa auditioned the year before she made it and was cut? You'd think they'd mention that in the article.

I'd be surprised if they don't take Hunter into TC. Maybe they'll see something they don't like later or there's behind the scenes stuff going on to keep her off, but she seems like the perfect package for them (assuming she's not too short).

Aw, that's too bad that Taylor isn't auditioning again. I was rooting for her to get her kicks up and come back.

Do Kelli and Judy ever sit in on prep classes to get an idea of what they're going to see at tryouts, or do they just rely on Kitty and veterans?

Yeah I kind of cringed at that too. But wow she's pretty. I hope they profile her a bit on the show.

I thought this might be interesting for our group. The U of Washington squads are catching some flack for a graphic they posted of how to dress for tryouts. Why? Don't a lot of people who try out post countdowns?

Would they ever reject someone's application outright? (I'm not saying in this specific case because who even knows if they care about your boyfriend.) I doubt they do full background checks on eeeeverybody auditioning, but if they knew someone was planning on auditioning and something very obviously would keep them off the squad, would they just say "don't bother"?

What always gets me in the old videos is that a few people have updos, considering they can't even pull their hair back for practice when they're being filmed now.

I love what Kat's wearing! It looks super cute but is probably really comfortable rather than those polyester Belk-y things everyone else is wearing.

I like it just to have a way to correlate name, face and dance ability for the rookies.

I think that Kelli is the only one who could keep her off the team. Maaaybe Charlotte if Sam truly would be an embarrassment, but I don't think she's at that level. Nobody would risk their relationship to the organization by getting on Kelli's bad side.

I remember reading on the old forum ages ago that K&J used to tell some vets not to reaudition, but I imagine that would only be for pretty extreme cases unless they know they have a particularly outstanding group of new people auditioning.

Definitely rude, but I'm sure they hear worse at a lot of their performances. And I honestly cringe when I think about some of the comments they must get from people at meet and greets.

@sleepyjean that makes a lot of sense. As near as I can tell the woman from Michigan State appeared to have done those prep classes over her spring break. That's pretty dedicated to a goal.

Over dancing aside, Holly looks incredibly fit. Not just thinner but with great muscle tone. I wonder what she's been doing (other than dance classes).

Who was the blonde with the short hair, the one who ended up second from the left end in the kickline?

Does this mean a rookie could be a second group leader? I could see Megan getting an accolade like that.

I forget what it was exactly, but she had a shoulder issue that could have gotten worse if she aggravated it, so she basically danced without moving it. She's also from Hawaii (that's what I remember her for).
