Tbh, I was puzzled by why anyone would think Drew was really Shiloh but today something in his idea for an inspiring documentary has me rethinking. It's still ridiculous and unnecessary but as an explanation for his repellent behavior, I can see why people are leaning that way. I missed a big chunk of the show yesterday when they aired something about the pope. Could someone explain why Emma was in the dumpster?

The best endings are where you can imagine the characters continuing on their adventures together. They nailed it the first time and it would be disappointing if they didn't this time. 🤞

I didn't get the feeling that "Blink" was a comment on this Doctor or a Doctor-lite episode in general. The fans obviously loved him. For me, it was RTD being a bit miffed that after all this time, the fans steadfastly love it.

I did laugh at the "Blink" mention. All those episodes since and it still reigns supreme.

Racism is real and shouldn't be ignored but right now it's a useful tool of the billionaire class. They're willing to let the country destroy itself to wring out every last dollar. I wonder if they had gotten their precious tax cuts in the first few weeks, they might have let some of the cowed Republicans fight back against the destruction of the government. 🤷‍♀️

I liked East of Eden. Grapes of Wrath was depressing but I don't regret reading it. The Pearl, otoh, loathed it - mainly because we had to dissect every freaking sentence. At least it was short. My problem with novels like Catcher in the Rye and many others from the 1950s - 1970s era is more of a personal thing. Early on I became completely turned off by the focus on (mostly white) male angst. To a degree, I still am. Which probably isn't fair, because some of my favorite people are men but growing up poor in the 60s and 70s, there were too many predators to be dodged to be overly sympathetic. I'm so grateful that kids today can go to a library and find relatable books.

Isn't Vance owned by most of the same people backing YKW? And Vance doesn't have the same ability to terrorize the Congress, so until their tax cuts are locked in, they need 47.

What I don't understand is that vaccination itself is basically a natural process. Don't they have those elementary school books about Pasteur anymore? The dairy maids who got cow pox (a milder disease) and thus avoided the deadly and disfiguring small pox? And are they really going to embrace cancer too when/if mRNA research produces viable treatments? Of course, with all the federal agencies, grants and research disruptions it all may be moot.

Same. And I used to like Kristina. Though truthfully, my secondary motivation is to never suffer thru Ava ordering a draft beer again.

RIP Jean Marsh (1934-2025) I was just mentioning a few days back that Jean Marsh was one of the reasons I'm fond of Battlefield. She had a long life and an amazing career. Maybe I'll put Upstairs, Downstairs on the rewatch list.

YMMV, obviously. But if not for Brennan's maneuvering, the odds are that the PCPD, the DA's office* and the citizens of Port Charles would have stood in line to thank her for ridding the soap world of Cyrus Renault. Joss is a dolt for not trusting the system but growing up Sonny-adjacent really screwed up her reasoning ability. * Unless there was a plot point to drag it out so that Diane could get some extra screen time.

It hurts defending Joss but shooting Cyrus was mostly self-defense and if not for Brennan would have been quickly been sorted out by the authorities. Especially in PC. (Yes, she was in his place illegally but he was an ex-con 3 times her size and coming at her with an ax.)

I can't begin to count how many replies I've abandoned lately. Most snark comes from a place of amused affection (at least for me) but everything is a bit dismal at the moment and I can't pull it off very well right now. Sigh. Here's hoping things turn around sooner rather than later.

I don't think it was xenophobic but with all the stories in the news about the horrific ICE detention issues of people with even minor visa infractions, kidding around about siccing ICE on someone feels off.

The only thing I have to say about Sidwell and Marco being connected to Natalia is that they got it out of the way earlier than usual. But from the dialog today, they made it sound like Allison isn't his? She wasn't mentioned as part of their happy little family anyway.

Are they still in the ER? I've a lot of time there over the years and usually stayed put in the room even when my husband was taken out for scans and such.
