  1. I think that Howard would have mentioned his father was in the Air Force, even if he hasn't seen him since he was 12. There's no way the guy could be that highly placed and only have joined since leaving his family. But it will be interesting to see how are lovable nerds manage to stick their foot in their mouths when dealing with this one.
  2. I think that depends on the meds. Steve could have been taking anti-rejection drugs not pain killers. No reason not to drive then.
  3. I can't see it being Danny and Rachel. He's made it pretty clear he no longer trusts her or particularly likes her once she spilled the beans about Charlie. It's very clear he tolerates her as a co-parent but just barely. I doubt Danny will ever remarry.
  4. The wheelchair race was fun. It was nice to see them acting like friends, at least until they started knocking people down. Danny, if Steve is taking his meds like he is supposed to, then don't start up about him not taking care of that liver you donated. Save it for when he jumps off a building or something.
  5. Without Congress, the DS incredibly vulnerable. Because as of right now, if something happens to him then there is no clear successor past that point. Tom Clancy did something similar in Executive Orders about 15 years ago. One of the major plot points was that without a Congress you cannot appoint official cabinet members. Only acting ones that do not have a place in the line of succession. Nor can a vice president be put into place. Or the Senate leadership obviously that are also a large part of the succession. The Secret Service would be absolutely about to lose their minds right about now. Not only did they just lose a bunch of agents and principles, but if they lose this next one the whole country might very well collapse.
  6. To me, Cam and Mitch get more painful with every season. It's very very hard to believe that they love each other or that Lily is having healthy relationships modeled for her. I think it would probably add a lot to the narrative if they were to get divorced. They don't seem to like each other at all most of the time and it is a very modern thing to have a divorced couple co parenting. Jay doesn't count. His kids were grown when he divorced and remarried. Having lily as a young child is definitely a different dynamic.
  7. At least this time Manny *recognized* that he was being creepy.
  8. Wow, I didn't think about the job thing. I mean what happens if the Secret Service discovers that there's something in a co-worker's background that now means there's an issue with them being around the new first lady. Does the co-worker now lose their job over something that previously wasn't a problem? Does every single client now have to be background checked before the firm can do business with them?
  9. Very true about the General not being the experienced guy. They did say all the Joint Chiefs were dead.
  10. And it was super weird not to hear his rhotacism.
  11. I liked the New York plotline. So nice to see the kids all hanging out together, as well as Claire and Phil being a happy couple. Absolutely snerked at Jay as the sausage sommelier.
  12. Except Kiefer's character is Tom and she kept calling Scott.
  13. I'm a local with a pass. And now headed over this weekend, as the visuals from Soarin' are calling my name.
  14. I think what got me was the context. We've all see the movies blow up DC because of aliens or asteroids or whatever. No big deal, Hollywood magic and President Morgan Freeman deals with it. The terrorism context on the other hand is downright terrifying.
  15. I haven't watched a political show since West Wing and I kept thinking that A) the Situation Room looked wrong B) Fitz and Leo would know what to do and C) I never want to see that image of the Capitol destroyed and in flames again. That hit *way* too close to home.
  16. If Fornell is staying with Gibbs, does that mean Emily is there as well?
  17. Did they say he was using meth or just selling it?
  18. I missed it. Any mentions of Tony or baby Tali?
  19. I'm actually a bit surprised Mary didn't smack him down for that. She's not usually very tolerant of Sheldon's meaner behavior.
  20. If that were true, I totally forgive them for trying to shoehorn in too much then. I know we'd probably get a better story if they cut back on certain characters at certain times but there is just something so heartwarming about the cast sticking together. I didn't always like Friends (they had a real run of Seasonal Rot from about 6-9) but I always loved how the cast stuck together.
  21. Unless they blow their timing all to pieces, they are going to need to time skip soon and get her showing. Bernie announced her pregnancy right around Valentines day, which mean she'll be due late October or early November. Which is a problem since the show generally sticks to to real time (we see Christmas eps right around Christmas, time is clearly passing, etc...).
  22. I do think they tried to do too much in too little time. But I liked Penny's mom (did we get a name?). Not just the casting gag of Katey Segal but that her biggest worries were making a good impression on Leonard's family. Up until now, the premise has pretty much been that Penny is out of Leonard's league. Seeing those same worries from the other side was nice. And I know I said it up-thread but I'm so glad that Penny's family is nothing but welcoming, kind and proud to have Leonard marrying their daughter. That must just be a balm to his soul. While I don't really buy Kenneth the Page as a drug dealer, I thought it was rather true to life that his mother was embarrassed by it and more than a bit irritated. I would have liked to have seen more interactions between Mary Cooper and Penny's parents. It feels like they all probably gotten along pretty well and while Mary is religious, she is certainly not judgmental.
  23. I was just so glad to see Penny's family so welcoming for Leonard and so happy about their wedding. It must have felt really nice for Leonard in comparison to how his mother was behaving.
  24. I've never heard that word pronounced as anything but coy-tus.
  25. The description for the first 2 episodes (air together as a 2 hour premier) are out, along with first promo pics! http://www.spoilertv.com/2016/09/ncis-la-episode-801-802-promotional.html
