  1. The skating gymnastics special was not good. They choose boring musical acts and instead of seeing skaters and gymnasts I see just Cody and the girl from the voice. I wish they would not have live music at these events. I did like Charlie and Meryl's first routine.
  2. I am not sure why Leslie was so impressed with her own piece. It really looked like a basic long dresser with a dangerous changing pad situation on top. I like that they complimented the carpenter about the craftsmanship because I think they knew the trouble he has had to endure, and it wasn't his design/his fault that it wasn't a winning piece. I didn't love the armoire, but I liked that it wasn't boring, and that she did something with it. I can see why they gave her the win, due to the effort and creativity behind it. I did love Gaspar's piece. That was nice. Ellen looks ridiculous to continue these tv feeds on her show, IMO. Last nights segment was cheesy and very out of place with the task at hand.
  3. I finally saw the full episode. When I had read here about the firings of the whole team I was really confused until I saw the episode and then I understood it. Definitely Ian needed to go from that situation alone. He showed his delusions quite nicely. I thought I liked him before CA, but he is clearly too into himself. I really liked how Brandi finally just spoke up to him and told him how he was acting. Not that he believed her, but I appreciated that she did that. Although it was a bit much to eliminate the team, Jonny and Brandi were not going to be in the finals anyway. Though I have to say that overall Brandi brought some good common sense to some of the tasks. She eliminated some bad ideas, had good reasons why certain things wouldn't work, and stuck with her gut. It was interesting how much influence Leeza has on the overall team presence. Geraldo and Vivaca looked great once Leeza arrived. Leeza's former team that won 5 times looked great when she was there, and not so much once she left. I didn't mind Geraldo much at all with Leeza there to temper him a bit. I give him credit, he scaled back on his ideas when they weren't wanted, and he didn't act like Ian did and get all bratty about it. He jumped right in and did what he was supposed to do.
  4. I unfortunately have to agree with you. I thought Chris would be a great Bachelor, but he frankly has really sucked at it. Every week it gets worse when it should get better. He makes stupid decisions such as randomly kissing women he could care less about, keeping women around that want to come back which takes time away from those he chose to keep, not being smarter about getting rid of people that are obviously quacks or at the very least that he knows he has no interest in, and lastly falling for every story he is told as if that is the reason he should keep that person around. If he was smart he would know it is those without "stories" that he might have an actual chance of having a relationship with. He hardly talks to anyone about anything, he isn't giving anyone any indication of who he is, and though he claims to want a wife he is really not participating in this process much at all. As crazy as some of the women are I give them credit for trying to make something work. Everyone has pretty much said everything else I thought about the episode. Love guru date was awful, and how odd he took Carly on that date anyway, Britt is annoying and fake, and Kelsey is crazy/nuts. There you have it.
  5. I agree with those that thought Ellen should be there. All I have seen is constant advertisements for "her" show, and then when she just only showed up via a tv feed, I was like, "what?". It just seemed silly to me that it is her show, and she couldn't be there for the first show at least. And yes, the rude lady and her wall board should have come in last in my opinion. I felt bad for the guy that went because his wall board was better than hers. It just seemed strange for him to leave over the chair guy and the other lady.
  6. Yes, thank you. I felt very underwhelmed and this is coming from someone that has been pretty moved by a lot of the episodes this season. I liked the episode up until Zeke's death, and then I found the rest to be too fast and too much. I felt like after all of the buildup they have Zeke die in a way that is brushed over like nothing happened--if they were going to do that they should have just decided not to have him die. He could have been a part of the ending at a baseball field (suppose he had the surgery and it went well). I understand they didn't have time to show grieving, but to go from throwing the ashes to no tears from anyone and just a bunch of laughter? That sounds nice but doubtful given the tears they have already shared even while he was still alive. And then all of these scenes with all of these random new people and babies was a bit much. We have watched this show for a few years now, and not nearly that much has happened that fast--I don't think we need to think that much will happen to the characters in just a few years more. I don't see why they had to show Amber with a guy...they could have just shown her with her child, and same thing with Julia/Joel--adding another baby to the mix though nice for them just felt like a bit much. And yes, of course Jasmine pregnant too. I am glad so many of you liked it....I was really disappointed in it. I think they could have simplified the ending, and done better with Zeke's death (or not have him die).
  7. Oh yes, it is definitely because he very well might not survive the surgery. The doctor did mention that, and in real life that is true as well. Zeke has a weak heart and it can only handle so many interventions, esp when it comes to surgery. My own father had a situation where he survived a very difficult surgery, but as he took the path of a weaker heart, years later when he needed a similar surgery they would not do it because they knew his body couldn't handle it. They did think they could do a stent procedure, and unfortunately he passed away during the procedure. So, I am basically saying that even the "simpler" procedures can be hard on the body if it has been determined that the heart has become much weaker. I can completely understand why Zeke doesn't want the surgery given the information he has been given by his doctor. Yes, it could potentially prolong his life, but he also could die on the operating table and not have any life left. Tough choice.
  8. This was refreshing! I really hate the dark episodes....I like Revenge-lite much better. So this was more my style. I like seeing the characters interact in a more normal fashion. It is also a nice change not having Victoria gunning for Emily for once.
  9. This show is hilarious. The things they get on camera of the girls saying, Chris' responses to the odd behavior, I could go on and on. I think this show is genius at times the way they capture these moments! I thought it was funny when Chris was trying to discuss what Ashley was trying to tell him, and I love the way he looks at the other Ashley (S) when she is being all crazy. There is no way she passed any testing...she is a producer plant, and they were okay with her leaving now that some of the other girls are bringing some crazy as well. Normally I would feel annoyed by Chris' reaction to Britt, but I was more annoyed with her. I agree it is annoying you are dating a man who is hanging all over a bunch of other women, but that is what the show is. Not that you have to like it, but it seems more out of line to me for her to be all cocky about her place with him, and to insult him over liking other women as well. We all know this isn't an ideal situation, but that is why the show is still on TV. Because it is nuts, and the contestants going along with the ride are part of the deal.
  10. I agree with the above completely. I like both Mirai and Ashley as well. I just think Mirai is having a difficult time fully getting past all that she has been through, and hitting the boards in this competition was certainly not helpful. I felt sad for her. I did notice a lot of skaters close, as mentioned by other posters, so I wonder if there was something up with the rink size? I know the Olympics situation was hard last year and I was torn about it, but I also didn't blame them for sending Ashley, and I certainly don't now as she has continued to compete at a high level, and really brought it this year. I haven't seen her skate like that in a long time. I think her confidence in the interview is more about trying to build herself up from her own mental demons, and nothing about bragging about herself. She knows she has struggled mentally to do well in competitions, and I think she is trying to change all of that. As for the men, I was completely baffled in the short program when Tara and Johnny thought Jeremy should have been first? I didn't see near as much choreography or extra elements in his program as I did with Josh and Jason. I felt the same way in the long....I just think Jeremy poses a lot, and does a lot of crossovers--I am just not seeing the artistry that Tara and Johnny were talking about. He kind of reminds me of Brian Boitano's show skating....I like Brian, but I admit to being bored by his choreography. It was nice to see some change around in the men's comp, and to see some interesting routines by some of the men. I wasn't excited about Adam's routine, but okay with his placement...it just didn't do much for me.
  11. Although I know Kristina has been annoying many times in this show, I still feel that Jasmine was out of line and Kristina had a good reason to be frustrated. I found it refreshing that she was honest and that the whole story came out, because it is clear that Adam wasn't completely convinced about doing it given that he didn't defend his decision very strongly and they were packing up in the end. Plus I think it is good that Crosby knows that Adam changed his mind mainly because of Jasmine so that Crosby was able to determine if having the Luncheonette was worth it without the other partner fully on board. Plus Amber is having a baby, and the Luncheonette would have little money to pay her--so in reality she needs an actual paying job anyway :-) I am liking the Zeke storyline. As stated above, I find it realistic how he is living with the reality of what decisions he has to make, how it affects his life, and in the meantime feels the weakness of his condition. Agree with others that it is good Joel and Julia's storyline is realistic and not just that everything is great all of the sudden. I think they have what it takes to make it through. I have actually liked Amber the last few episodes. I love how the actress truly looks like she is really into her mom and what her mom has to tell her--something about how she looks at her when she speaks, I find endearing. I am glad they had a fairly simple birth, and that she made the choice many women would make, which is to have minimal people around for the labor. That was a nice experience for her and her mom as well. As for Sarah and Hank, I kind of like that they have a simple relationship. I feel like she isn't passionate about him, but realizes that he is a comfort and stability for her and she understands the value of that kind of love in her life now. I also found it sweet she wanted her dad there.
  12. Too funny! I honestly didn't mean her story doesn't count or isn't important. I just meant that I find it funny how the Bachelor women feel they have to tell their stories immediately, even before they get to know the Bachelor in any other way. :-)
  13. It makes me sad to say this because I like Chris, but I have to agree with those that have said he doesn't have much to say--and that is probably why he dives into kissing so many of them. I don't see the need to kiss women that you can tell you don't have much of a connection with, and you know he doesn't feel close to all of the women he keeps kissing. I just expected more of him -- I thought he would be more interesting than he is, and I thought he wouldn't be one of the Bachelors that kisses almost everyone. And the girl telling the story about the husband's suicide...I was shocked she would insist on doing that during a pool party. Ugh.
  14. I get that many of you don't like Brandi because you watch the shows she is on, but remember that not all of us watch those shows, and from what I have seen on CA, Kenya has more actively criticized Brandi publicly while Brandi has stayed relatively quiet and hasn't returned those comments in the boardroom. That is what Trump is seeing. Kenya digs all of the time at her.... Until Brandi shows another side there isn't reason for them to think she is being nasty to Kenya. As for Shawn, I was more than glad for her being fired. I agree with comments above about her not really being into it or fully contributing. I understand she is trying to make money off of these opportunities, but I think her former teammates that went to college and started a "normal" life are better off. They found a way to combine their sport and their education, and in many ways have a fuller life, imo.
  15. So, I tried to ignore most of the abduction/violent scenes. I am just not a fan. I did enjoy the bits and pieces where they all finally started to work together. Sorry if I missed this here--I tried to read carefully-- but originally I was really annoyed that Vic told Malcolm about Jack, which put him in danger. But then I wondered was she trying to get info to someone that could help them? I didn't think she hated Jack so if this was obviously the motive, forgive me, but I just can't keep track about who hates who anymore. I know Emily added the symbol so I wasn't sure if this was a plan of Vic and Emily? You do have to laugh that you go from them being kidnapped by a madman to dear ole Margaux with her threats against Emily. As said above, if Emily can handle the bulk of what she has handled this long, I don't see how Margaux can be much of a threat. Clearly they are running out of ideas!
  16. I was much more on board with what Kristina said re: the Luncheonette, and definitely not okay with Jasmine's interference. I would have been upset that the other wife in the business thinks she can come in and decide what is right for everyone. Is Jasmine going to pay for both families if the business fails? Kristina thought it was decided, and then suddenly sees Adam getting it started again without warning her, and since it was based on Jasmine, yes, Kristina should say something. I just don't think Jasmine had any right to interfere--at some point Crosby has to grow up and know how to deal with these things. I guess I am glad the show is ending so I don't have to see anything more about the business.
  17. I was a little surprised that Tara went before some of the others. She was on good behavior this week, and it sounds like they had a decent interaction the previous week (before she got drunk). Some of the girls seem a little overly made up and high maintenance for Chris--at the very least Tara seemed a better fit for this stage of the game. Plus did he keep Jordan, who was drunk all of the time this week, over her? I hated how the one girl kept bashing his helmet on things--she is essentially making the helmet unsafe for use, and hopefully someone told him before he used that helmet again. That was just really stupid, and even though her one on one date went okay I couldn't quite forget that she isn't the smartest person. And Ashley S is definitely a producer plant because she is nuts!
  18. I agree with a couple of others above that aren't finding fault with him ending his engagement. There is a probably a reason why he felt it wouldn't work out, and he is not going to tell the media all of the details of the relationship--which is how it should be. There are plenty of people in long engagements that don't end up getting married. It is almost like people seem to think that because he says he wants a wife that he should just take anyone open to marrying him. In the end, it is all about finding the right person, and for whatever reason the previous relationship didn't work out. As for the farm, regardless of his exact role, farmers are pretty serious about their work and being involved. Even if he mainly oversees the operations, he has to be there most of the time...he has a lot invested in it, and it is his job. I felt like he was sincere when he said it was very weird for him to leave during harvest time, as if he didn't really like being away even if there were others there to help him. Plus it seems like a family obligation, so he feels a responsibility to be present.
  19. So disappointing. There were points in the episode where I thought things were turning around--Emily going out with Nolan, Emily smiling occasionally, etc, and then we had the arrest and release of Malcolm, and I am not looking forward to the capture/torture scenes. I am so over that part of Revenge. And I agree with others that I don't really care what happens to David. I wish they would have just ended this show when Emily was going to run off with Aiden (that it would have actually happened). At this point I don't see any Revenge that could make all of the awful things that have happened be worthwhile.
  20. Nope, I like Hank too. (his ex wife and daughter are another story). I have never liked Sara much, and I hate how she talks down to Hank. I don't know how to explain it but her reactions to him are like she slows down what she is saying and how she says it to "accomodate" him. He may potentially have Asperger's, but he isn't stupid. He is actually quite smart. Like last night she looked at him in a way like she had to talk to him in a certain way. I understand she was shocked, but you could tell she felt the need to accomodate him in some way rather than just talk to him like a normal person. Re: the luncheonette, I agree that though it is nice Jasmine is supportive, their business was going downhill fast. They had no potential business for the last several months.... I will feel bad for Adam if he has to stay in it for Crosby. It just doesn't make financial sense for either of them given how poorly the business has been doing. I doubt they are suddenly going to be run over with clients. Well, this is Parenthood, so I guess it could happen if the writers decide it should be so.
  21. Putting on my Iowa hat here (I grew up there): I know you are being snarky and that is okay with me. But [snip] don't think the only places to do things near Iowa is in Chicago, IL or Des Moines, IA. There are plenty of other towns and cities in Iowa that have hair salons, shopping, restaurants, jobs, you name it. I lived in Iowa for a very long time, and I never had the need to go to Chicago (I have been there since then a couple of times), and I rarely went to Des Moines. I lived near a great college town, and had another great small city available to me as well. Even my small hometown was okay to live normal life. I am just saying that she very much has a chance at a great life in Iowa. Though not always glamourous, it is actually really nice for day to day life. She won't have to be stuck on the farm every day even if Chris wants to stay in Iowa (as he indicates he does).
  22. I loved this episode. I felt all of their emotions in regard to Zeke, possible changes in their lives, and the sweet baby shower at the end. I thought it had a little bit of everything, and I liked that it included external characters like Hank and found a storyline for them too. I am sure some of why I liked the episode was personal in that seeing the fragility of Zeke and knowing he has a tough decision ahead reminded me a lot of what my own father would have gone through. It is a very real situation for someone with heart issues to get to that point of do I try to extend my life knowing I could end it, or do I just wait and see what happens. The impact on the family is big too because you respect their decision completely, but it is a sad place to be. I loved the women's connection at the end, and it made me tear up to hear the advice they had for Amber.
  23. Thanks for the article...that was a good read, and I loved the picture. Too funny!
  24. My main thing with them was never understanding their "connection" in the first place. It was clear he doesn't do a lot of thinking and isn't the brainiest of men, and she seems to prefer people she can have a real conversation with--especially if she is going to be with them forever. I never bought their whole story, so I am not surprised they broke up but I am surprised it happened so soon. I figured they would string people along for a while longer.
  25. I can't blame him for keeping the gig. It is crazy and silly, but it pays, and he can find humor in it. At times I think Fleiss is a genius (not saying I like him)....he came up with this concept and it works every year. Who would have thought this whole formula would work so long? But it does....the women get wrapped up in the bachelor from the get go each and every year, and create quite the drama. It is very interesting to me how well his crazy concept has worked.
