S07.E7: Are You Happy Now?
monagatuna replied to greekmom's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After
I would LOVE a family Libby spinoff. No more of their stupid family's faces on the regular 90DF shows! -
So, that eyeshadow was a choice.

I do have to say, I am impressed at the correct use of the word "piqued" (improper use of piqued/peaked, peak/peek, heel/heal, and phased/fazed are my pet peeves), as well as the fact that she caught on that some people are going to respond negatively, so only gave positive choices for her polls.

Me too! That would've been a great throwback! -
Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
monagatuna replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Sure, but if their clientele are typical LDS types, they're starting with the kind of mentality that thinks "bleeding the beast" is a reasonable practice and that MLMs will make them rich, so it's right up their alley. "Exploit your multiple children's lives to make millions hundreds of thousands a few extra bucks despite the fact that viewers are pretty tired of huge and/or polygamous families" seems like sound advice to them. -
S10.E09: Let's Get Physical

Did I hear that right?? Just now watching...in the "gym" where they're discussing the honeymoon, did she say "tell Buddy about the honeymoon" in reference to Lennie? Edit: she said Lennie but it was really fast, I could've sworn she said Buddy. Had to watch it three times! -
Uhm, I'm very much not an OB/GYN but I did have a similar conversation with my own doctor last year--I'll spare you the personal details, but what it boiled down to is that (typically, not always), women who have shorter cycles may be experiencing premenopausal symptoms. The body does go through the eggs faster because hormones are telling it to get to the baby-making, as it might be their last chance. The so-called biological clock (a term I hate for a million reasons) starts ticking faster to give more opportunities for getting pregnant NOW, when the body can handle it. It's also a time for increasing capacity for multiple births. Grain of salt, because she's only 37, but women can theoretically start going through pre-menopause at that age, it's not unheard of. I don't think there's any sort of hard-and-fast rule for age versus cycle length, but as far as I know, it seems you have it right. Either way, it seems if she's going to get pregnant without medical intervention, the time is now, not later.

Exactly. Kody's whining that men aren't treated fairly during custody hearings is patently false, which has been borne out time and time again when this so-called fact is trotted out by MRA types. The reason kids end up with women is because their dads don't fight for them. If he gave one tenth of an actual shit about Truely, he would have very little to no trouble getting joint custody. But he won't because he's lazy and angry at the audacity Christine has in actually leaving him, and so of course he's going to take that out on his minor children. (I am not saying that Kody not having custody would be a punishment to Truely; indeed, it would be a gift to her. But that is how he would see it.)

I think the description may be a bit outdated...🤣 -
What does the nanny DO? Maybe Mykelti can clue Christine in? Edit: beaten, should've read the rest of the thread before commenting!

S10.E08: A Big Fat Wedding -- But Not Mine
monagatuna replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
I hope so. For some reason the vacation episodes, even though they have the barnacles that we know only show up for a paycheck, are the most fun ones for me. I get to see places of the US that I haven't been to, and usually we have a nice scene with Tal and/or Ashley being nice to someone else in the group, sans Whitney's braying. Then they go off on some adventure, which usually gives me fun vacation ideas. It's usually when Whitney is at her most pleasant (aside from things like tearing off her bra and screaming at Buddy, or calling Ryan expendable when he was the one who supplied the vacation home). I thought the wedding was cute, but basic. I wouldn't be surprised if there were "live laugh love" type word art in that loopy cursive we see everywhere. Jessica is such a pretty woman, but the nails and hair and makeup were all so over the top. She looked like a clown. It's WEIRD when Whitney is more tastefully coiffed than anyone else, let alone a bride. With the hair and nails, okay, I'll admit that's a personal choice. But the makeup? She was so heavily contoured it looked like someone had slapped mud on her face. I did like seeing an event that wasn't centered around Whitney, and wasn't tragic like Babs' health issues. I really hope Babs continues to recover. She's one of the bright spots of this show and I love her subtle, yet stinging, humor. Edit: Oh, also, Jessica's dress ripped at the armpit. It was obvious during her dance with Isaiah (I think?). The lace was hanging on literally by a thread. Too bad, it's a pretty dress and she obviously selected it with care. I'm bummed that was shown on camera, it was hard to see without her arms stretched over her head. -
Is that a beach? What?! I thought Meri wasn't like other girls and preferred her toes at Disney rather than in the sand!

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
monagatuna replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
That's exactly it. He wants to be seen as a laid-back studly guy with 4 wives that no one can resist. He has long blond hair so of course he's a "surfer dude" despite living in...freaking Arizona. I'd bet the only surfing you'd get done is at a wave pool. I just started surf lessons, and Sunday we're going to be going over wave etiquette and safety. There's a community among surfers, and you have to be deferential at times, and assertive at others. I can't imagine Kody at one of our beaches. He wouldn't be in the water, he'd be running around the beach in his stupid bedazzled jeans and leaping over beachgoers' towels, frenetically assuring us all how busy and important he is. If he did try to snag a wave, he'd surely bash into other surfers and likely get kicked off the beach. Even though there's no official policing or monitoring of surf etiquette, his fragile little ego would give him the murder eyes after getting yelled at by expert surfers. -
How tall is the actor? Google was not helpful--there was speculation that he was between 5'9" (!!) and 6'3." Yet he's taller than their (admittedly tiny) refrigerator. Annie Murphy is 5'7" and Kevin is a bit shorter than her. Seeing them all standing near each other, I'd presume this guy to be between 6'3" and 6'5." Or perhaps he's a more average 5'11" to 6' and they're using camera tricks to make him seem larger and more menacing?

S10.E07: Hand-Fed Bananas
monagatuna replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
Far be it for me to defend this jerk, but if it's a small space (not watching yet because it's not airing in my time zone yet), double boilers get hot fast. Because I work on east coast/Europe time, I don't usually have it in me to watch this shitshow in real time. From the comments/lack thereof, it seems like it's the same snoozefest as usual. I recently watched the series in its entirety, and it was so much more fun when she had the dance class, some semblance of a job, a handful of events, and a trip here and there. Now she just moans senshusly while getting her lips injected and abuses more animals than usual. And it sounds like now she's moved on to abusing seniors (besides just her parents). EDIT: OK I stayed up long enough to watch the first ten minutes and OH MY GOD THEY ARE MAKING CANDLES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN CONTAINERS THEY SCRAPPED FROM SOMEWHERE AND HAVE NOT HEAT TESTED. Please OMG guests do NOT burn those candles. -
Yeah, I think I was just shocked that she could actually carry a tune a little bit. Usually when we see people on these shows trying to do something that requires talent, they're average at best (think of all the "models" we've seen on here, and Ed's photography is nothing special, for example). On second hearing, her voice actually made me cringe. Though I do think there's something she could do with her voice, it's not actually good. It has potential, but it's not a moneymaker. If she kept this firmly in hobby mode, she'd possibly be happy with it.

I'm not, but I am over the "use talented artists for your own motivations of getting some weird queer street cred, Whitney" craze.

Thanks for the heads-up. I haven't been watching this season because I can't be bothered to stay up past 10 PM to watch, but was planning on eventually catching them on demand. I won't watch next week's at all. I can't stand the idea of something bad happening to Henchi. I'm still seething over the missing Steve Purrwin.

Social Media: What's Up With Her?

Parking Lot Ice Cream and Cookies With Only One Bite Taken Out So You Can See How Good I Did will always be there for her, though. -
I don't get it either! I live walking distance to one of the best surf beaches on the west coast and despite not being a huge beach person, I would 100% rather be toes in the sand than anywhere near Disneyland. Disneyland could move into my backyard, and I'd move cities. I love the subtle "not like other girls" shade here, when Making Disney Your Entire Personality is completely, totally, 100% a basic white girl thing. Sorry you don't have any real hobbies, Meri, only media that you consume.

A friend of mine is a stunt actor and got no work until he moved to Atlanta. Since he did, he's been in so many movies and series that probably every one of us in this forum has seen him in something. I hope Hunter has a great future with whatever he does.

S10.E04: A New Home for Babs
monagatuna replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in My Big Fat Fabulous Life
I'm pretty sure I also heard her say "opportuntity." She's just trying to be cute. Same with "wee" or "halloy" instead of "hello," and "dadwe" instead of "dad," or "Alasker." That's all she's been trying to do since she invaded our screens, and it's never worked. -

And god forbid she drink plain water, which doesn't require you to remove them! -
She’s actually…not bad?

There's also no law school at University of American Samoa--or there wasn't in the BBverse, at least. So again, suspension of disbelief. I believe it took him 3 tries to pass the bar. That's not unusual. It took me two tries, and I was prepared for a third due to a computer crashing on my third exam day. Granted, I live in a much harder state to pass than NM, but any bar in any state is hard to pass. It's also possible he went to bartending school AND undergrad AND law school. "Bartending school" is by and large a scam. Unless you are planning on becoming a sommelier (more selective than almost any other profession in the world) or vintner, mixing drinks is something that generally values experience over education. And man, is it fun!
