  1. I know! I've known for a long time that Dave went to Ball State University & also that St. Bart's is apparently a favorite vacation spot of his (& of a lot of celebs, for that matter), & I don't even think his wearing a Ball State shirt in that pic would've helped me recognize him if they hadn't said it was him (or if I'd also been in St. Bart's & run into him, unless I heard him say something to me or someone else). That pic makes me wonder, though, if the baldness was another choice since his retirement, like the "Santa" beard, or if he was hiding that his hair was going for who knows how long during the show. I don't think it's gone due to illness/treatment for an illness; there haven't been rumors or verified reports of that in any celebrity media sources I follow, on social media or elsewhere.
  2. Happy Belated 40th Birthday (in all timezones, except the Pacific & those west of it) to Keri Russell! Her birthday was yesterday, the same day Pastor Tim aired.
  3. Unless they're running eps from different seasons/out of order, he might be back on ION soon. They were running an ep with Lupo & Bernard earlier. On other eps, the daughter in Sundown (which was on WeTV earlier tonight) was really whiny, I thought. And I'm pissed I slept late today & missed Killerz, which was on WeTV early this afternoon. I saw yesterday that it'd be on & told myself I was gonna get up in time to watch it, & then I didn't. I don't have the DVDs; now I'm gonna have to wait until TNT or We (which are fairly close in seasons right now) cycles all the way back to it. OK those eps are after S9, but Abbie's still an ADA in them so...
  4. Sadly, a whole bunch of celebrities I've seen in person, & actually met (& there have been quite a lot, in total, both already dead & thankfully still alive), have already died (1 as recently as within the last few weeks). Since I was between age 8 & my senior year in high school (1981) when I met most of them, & most were already adults when I met them while I was still between 3rd & 12th grade in school, I can pretty much say that trend will, sadly, continue for awhile.
  5. As long as nothing happens to Barry Manilow until after April 22nd (or for a LONG time after that, God forbid), I'll be very happy. I have a front row dead center seat & a meet & greet with him, including a photo op, at his concert in my hometown on that night.
  6. Character actor Ken Howard, perhaps best-known for starring in The White Shadow TV show (among other roles), also the current president of the SAG-AFTRA screen & television/radio artists' union, dead at age 71. http://variety.com/2016/biz/news/ken-howard-dead-sag-aftra-president-1201737727/ Sorry for the repetition. I didn't post fast enough. Sigh. Maybe I at least linked to a different obit. Anyway, besides The White Shadow, Adam's Rib (his 1970's TV show with Blythe Danner, whose late husband, Bruce Paltrow, would go on to work with Howard on The White Shadow), Crossing Jordan & many other of his TV & movie roles, I'll always remember him as Peyton Cabot Harrison III in The West Wing's first season ep The Short List. The character was President Bartlet's first choice for his first appointment to the US Supreme Court. He later had to withdraw from consideration because of something he'd written & published during law school (as I remember). It was inflammatory, or potentially inflammatory, or something. Ken Howard also, as it happens, dated the daughter of a family friend for awhile back in the mid/late 1970's or maybe the early 1980's (if she hasn't retired since last I heard, she went on to become a well-known TV news anchor in Baltimore).
  7. I started a new thread strictly for discussion of The West Wing Weekly & any other show-related podcasts you/we might listen to (there's at least 1 other out there, done by a fan, which I found because it also has a Twitter feed). I thought that might be preferable to "cluttering" the Media thread with talk about it/them, if anyone wants to discuss after new eps are posted; I also thought it would be OK since there's a Podcasts forum above the alphabetical listing of show forums. If I did wrong, Mods please feel free to delete the thread & I apologize.
  8. Discuss Joshua Malina & Hrishikesh Hirway's The West Wing Weekly podcast, & any other podcasts you listen to devoted to the show, here!
  9. Dave's apparently on vacation, presumably with the family, in St. Bart's. Not only is he still bearded, but he's also now BALD! http://www.people.com/article/david-letterman-bald-and-beard
  10. He ended up having to start his new job early, too. I think I read he was supposed to have started today, but they called him in to work yesterday when the news broke about the terrorist attacks at the Brussels airport & metro station.
  11. OK that makes 4 cast members blogging just for People (Karina, Nyle, Jodie & Mischa). I get they're all from different couples, & so their perspectives would obviously be different, but isn't that a lot of people blogging about the same thing for the same media outlet--as in, why not spread the wealth among the other celebrity media outlets? I don't think Entertainment Tonight has a blogger for S22 yet. Just saying. By the way, Artem Chigvintsev's blogging this season for the Just Jared website & Witney Carson's blogging for Just Jared's sibling site, Just Jared Jr.
  12. Including when she wasn't on, or was 17 after she came back? Things blur together after awhile.
  13. Holly Taylor (@HollyTaylor97) & Kelly AuCoin, aka Pastor Tim (@KellyAuCoin77) will be Live Tweeting during the 10PM Eastern time airing of tonight's episode, according to this Tweet posted yesterday to the show's Twitter account. https://mobile.twitter.com/TheAmericansFX/status/712452828866998277?p=v
  14. That's cool. I was just pointing out the Casey Anthony trial has already been done for TV. And I was going to add, but didn't get back to my post before you replied, that the 2013 movie still wouldn't preclude ACS from doing their own take on the Casey Anthony trial, if they wanted & if the series goes beyond the apparently already planned second season on Hurricane Katrina.
  15. Lifetime did a TV movie about the Casey Anthony trial, Prosecuting Casey Anthony, in 2013. Rob Lowe starred as the prosecutor in the case.
  16. Justin Bieber cancels (pricey) fan meet & greets on the remainder of his current tour, claiming they "drain" him too much, emotionally; his people say a "security scare", of an unspecified nature, at a recent show's to blame & they're apparently offering "a VIP hangout" as a replacement. I just hope those who want it back will get their money paid for the meet & greets refunded (minus the concert ticket price if it's included with the meet & greets in a "package", like with the [also pricey, but not as much as Bieber's quoted price in the linked article & worth it, as the price goes toward his charitable foundation's efforts to put musical instruments back in the schools/school districts that need them...a noble gesture] meet & greets for my favorite singer--1 of which I'm participating in on April 22nd, by the way). http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/7271775/justin-bieber-cancels-meet-and-greets-security-incident
  17. I'm not sure why it took until March to find them here, but my Mom finally found Sweetos again at our grocery yesterday. Woo-Hoo! And the bag we have doesn't say anything about it only being a limited time thing, so maybe it's a permanent thing now... I hope!
  18. Veteran actress Rita Gam dies at age 88, due to respiratory failure. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/21c0e9c8d5db4d76a0e4d4fe22dbe6a8/actress-rita-gam-dies-age-88
  19. Amy Robach was there too, as they said. She's GMA's newsreader &, usually, the lead substitute for Robin when she's away, as well as being a breast cancer survivor like Robin (she's also married to [former?] actor Andrew Shue, brother of Leaving Las Vegas Oscar nominee & CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's Elisabeth Shue, & a star on the original version of Melrose Place). Anyway, it appears they were there just like a lot of other people (like Bindi's mom, Terri, & brother, Robert, last season): to support their friend & castmate who's in the show. Which is totally within their rights, & I see nothing wrong with it. We might even see the rest of Ginger's GMA castmates appearing as she gets farther into it. When it was revealed on GMA that Ginger was doing DWTS this season, Robin even said she, at least, intended to be in the audience to support Ginger as much as possible while she was on. Even if she had to take a redeye--probably more likely ABC-Disney's private jet--back to NY as soon as the show was over to get back in time for GMA the next day. And she did exactly that Monday night after DWTS was over; she was right next to George Stephanopolous reporting on the Brussels airport/metro terrorist attack all morning yesterday.
  20. And more show bloggers for celebrity media outlets this season: Karina Smirnoff's also blogging for People magazine, which makes 3 people on the show for that 1 magazine--Mischa, Jodie & Karina (It really takes 3 of this year's cast members to replace Derek Hough, their previous DWTS blogger?). And Carrie Ann Inaba's blogging for Access Hollywood's website.
  21. Nobody's watching Of Kings and Prophets now. ABC canceled it last Monday, after the second ep's ratings tanked even worse than the premiere's did.
  22. There's a website for Josh Malina's podcast: http://thewestwingweekly.com .
  23. We've been talking about Josh's podcast in the Media thread. It also has a website (I think they're just posting links to the episodes there, at least for now; there's a short teaser podcast up now & the 1 dealing with the Pilot is scheduled to be posted on Wednesday of this week, the 23rd). The website is at http://westwingweekly.com . Josh Tweeted today that he's talking to Dulé Hill, related to the podcast, this week.
  24. That would be a supernatural feat, if they do. Wayland Flowers died in October, 1988. Besides Mischa Barton blogging for People magazine (which I think was mentioned in her thread), Jodie Sweetin's also blogging for People & Sharna Burgess is blogging for the website for the TV show Extra (posts will appear there on Tuesdays).
  25. Sorry for the OT but, regarding the bolded, Hulk was awarded another $25.1 MILLION today in punitive damages. His total award is now OVER $140 MILLION.
