NBC is rebroadcasting her special from last year at 8PM Eastern on Friday, May 6th. It's been expanded to 90 minutes for this airing & includes 5 songs that weren't in the original broadcast or the original repeat; probably most or all may have been mentioned here after the special originally aired. http://tvline.com/2016/04/15/adele-concert-rebroadcast-nbc-five-new-songs-chasing-pavements/

Cool! I posted so everybody would know when to watch, but especially you since you specifically mentioned you don't normally watch Mom (& I don't either... I know, Bad The West Wing fan!). I'll try to remember to post another reminder the day before or the day of, in case it slips anyone's mind & they wanna watch it. I think the plot they described where Allison's & Richard's characters end up meeting, etc., is gonna be funny. Can't wait. And trying not to spoil it for anyone who didn't read the linked article.

Kelly Clarkson gave birth to her second child with husband Brandon Blackstock on Tuesday; they also have a 22 month-old daughter, River Rose Blackstock (he also has an older son & daughter, Seth & Savannah, from a previous marriage). It was a boy (which was disclosed during the pregnancy); they named him Remington Alexander Blackstock. -
According to this article, from yesterday or the day before--I think, the Mom episode which reunites Allison & Richard on TV will air on CBS on May 5th. Check your local listings for the correct time & channel in your area. http://www.tvinsider.com/article/84839/mom-hosts-a-mini-west-wing-reunion/

DDK has apparently arrived in NYC to prepare for his stint as The King of Siam in The King and I at Lincoln Center Theater. His hair has also been cut & styled into a more traditional style for Siam (Thailand) in the period during which the musical takes place. He Tweeted/Instagrammed a pic. https://www.instagram.com/p/BEJ1NilBK8B/ He's doing the show until sometime in June, as I recall. His hair probably won't have all that much time to grow back before S7 filming starts in probably early July. I'm looking forward to any possible explanations in S7 for why Chin has a haircut like that, if they're as necessary as I'm expecting.

The showrunners have said, I think pretty much from the get-go, that they see the show running a total of 5-6 seasons. So, 1-2 more seasons after this 1 ends. And it's apparently up to the showrunners when to end it, instead of FX pulling the plug &, God forbid, unexpectedly leaving us with a massive unresolved cliffhanger. Of course the showrunners could do that, seeing as they get to decide when it's over, but I don't think they would.

S06.E18: Kanaka Hahai (The Hunter)
BW Manilowe replied to BW Manilowe's topic in Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
I think the guy with the small daughter was Filipino, not Thai. They do look alike. I'm half-Filipina (Dad's family) & half American (Mom's side), so I know. But having said that, I also look Caucasian despite being half-Filipina. But the team was talking about him being missing, before he was found, & they had the info page of his passport on the big screen & it said he was from somewhere in the Philippines. But Grace didn't want her phone to take pics of her day out with her dad & little brother. She wanted her phone because she's now a typical teen who'd rather be checking her/her friends' social media timelines than interacting with her family, because her family is now boring to her. At least that's what I got out of that scene. Torres was from somewhere in the Philippines, as I said above. The team had the ID page from his passport, or something, on the big screen before they found him & it said he was from somewhere in the Philippines. -

I had totally forgotten that was the same "no TV, no internet" guy. And it really was too much information! Sorry I didn't use his name, in either post; it takes me longer than the first ep to remember who's who. -
I Googled. The US & Argentina signed an extradition treaty on June 10, 1997; it went into force on June 15, 2000. Per the List of United States Extradition Treaties page in Wikipedia.

S06.E19: Malama ka Poʻe (Care For One's People)
BW Manilowe replied to BW Manilowe's topic in Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
With all due respect, to me that sounds like Scott only wants to be in 5 eps, or less, per season. To the contrary, he's apparently negotiated, & gotten the OK of those connected to the show who make those decisions, to miss 5 eps per season (mostly for family-related reasons, like now having an almost 2 year-old daughter living in LA--though I think he negotiated this before she was conceived, let alone born). He's still in approximately 80% of the eps each season, based on the most recent 25 ep seasons (last season & this season). While I'm not necessarily thrilled that Grace is acting onscreen now like a "typical (aka "snotty", etc.) teenager", as opposed to how she was portrayed in earlier seasons, I honestly don't disagree with them writing her as the teenager she (& Teilor Grubbs, the actress who plays her) is in both the show & in real life. Gracie is 13 in the show; Teilor is 14 in real life (& will be 15 near the end of September--her birthday is actually 2 days after that of Alex & Malia O'Loughlin's son, Lion), even though it's stereotypically, but I'm reasonably sure Teilor is really better behaved in real life than Gracie was during that day with Danny & Charlie. I know other fans who are actually happy Gracie's being written as the teenager she's supposed to be, instead of a perpetual small child. I'm wondering, though, if we'll eventually find out this sudden attack of "typical teenage attitude/angst" in Gracie's storyline has something to do with her feelings about finding out she & Charlie have the same mother & father, & not just the same mother like Rachel originally told everybody (well, except Danny, who she told she was pregnant & the baby was his before Rachel started backtracking & declaring Stan as his father)? I mean, she was pretty young in canon when Rachel & Danny had the affair but, even if she didn't "get" it at the time, (there were scenes where) she saw her parents acting lovingly towards each other again, & kissing, when Gracie knew Rachel was married to Stan & also being that way with him. Yes, it was the first time we've actually seen the Grovers' son Will as a character in an ep. Grover was described as "happily married with a son and a daughter" when Peter Lenkov initially Tweeted about him before his first ep. It just took a long time to introduce him into the storyline. I don't think we even knew the son's first name until Lou was supposed to be talking to him on his cellphone, I think earlier this season, maybe during the ep where Grover went to Chicago to try to get Clay to confess to murdering his wife. And a couple of interesting facts about the actresses playing the Grover women: Both actresses share the same last name, Hurd, but they're not related in real life, just on the show. Michelle Hurd plays Grover's wife, Renee; Pam Hurd plays the Grovers' daughter, Samantha (who was kidnapped by Nick Jonas' character in the S4 Finale). And, apparently, Michelle Hurd (Grover's wife) is among the women accusing Bill Cosby of drugging them & taking indecent liberties with them while they were incapacitated. I read that in something online about the Cosby case (though about the accusers in general; not about her being 1 specifically) that was published around the time 1 of the eps with Renee Grover aired on CBS. -

Season Two Talk: Spring Baking Championship
BW Manilowe replied to cherrypj's topic in Spring Baking Championship [V]
Glad the show's back. But how does a guy who says he neither watches TV nor uses the internet end up in a show like this? I mean, where would he have heard they were looking for participants (unless friends or relatives "on the media grid", as it were, told him)? I don't think Food Network took out newspaper ads (& who knows if he even reads the papers; if he doesn't watch/have a TV or use the internet, maybe he doesn't read the papers either) looking for participants. And Nancy & Lorraine still seem to dislike each other, I see. Some things never change. As long as Nancy doesn't say something like "Yummy, yummy, yummy to my tummy, tummy, tummy!" about a contestant's food again this season ( to be fair, she may have actually said that on the Holiday Baking Championship, which Bobby & all 3 judges also do, instead of this show), I will be happy. I thought that was silly & cringeworthy. If you think Duff is picky here (which I haven't really ever thought), you should see him on the Kids' Baking Championship, which he's done (hosted & judged) for 2 seasons now with Valerie Bertinelli--at least if it comes back for another season. He's different, I think, on that show. Very helpful & supportive to the kid bakers. Duff also has another new show, which they advertised a lot during this show tonight. It's Cake Masters & it seems to be based around his Charm City Cakes West bakery, &/or his Duff's Cake Mix place, in LA, which are offshoots of his original Baltimore bakery, Charm City Cakes, where his original Ace of Cakes show was set. I think the new show starts tonight (Monday). -

It was definitely prison. The federal (I think) prison at Marion, Illinois--Marion at least was mentioned, by Kono & maybe Steve, if not also Chin, a number of times in the scene where they found out Clay was behind Grover & his family being found in Hawaii. Clay didn't necessarily have to go to trial; he could've reached a plea deal before things got as far as a trial. At any rate, I handwave stuff like that because, as I said in a previous answer in another thread, unless they mention a holiday in an ep, or there are other kinds of clues about how far apart the eps are supposed to be, we don't actually know how much or little time has passed between them. So, theoretically speaking, Clay possibly could've gotten through "the system" & imprisoned by this point. -

No they wouldn't be all one skin color. Some of the members of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA), which was responsible for kidnapping Patty Hearst, were African American. I remember a guy named/who went by the name of Cinque, who I think was the leader. He was African American; so were others in the group. -

This is kinda cute, though it probably involves more of the crew than the cast--though you can see Chi McBride, Masi Oka, Jorge Garcia, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Taylor Wily (Kamekona) Shawn Mokuahi Garnett (Kame's Cousin Flippa), Teilor Grubbs (Gracie Williams), Zach Sulzbach (Danny's son, Charlie), Ingo Rademacher (FBI Agent Coughlin this season, & Mr. Shaffer, the father of 1 of the kids who was taken hostage aboard a private school's bus on the way to a field trip in S2), Julie Benz (Chin's love interest, Abby Dunn), & Christopher Sean (Gabriel Waincroft) in it, briefly, here & there. Alex O'Loughlin & Grace Park don't appear to be in it though; if they are, I missed them. Peter Lenkov, the showrunner & periodic writer, is also in it. I think he's hilarious in it. It's the Official S6 Wrap Video, filmed mostly by Brent Anbe who's a casting director on the show. Part of it was filmed by someone else I can't remember, but who should be mentioned in the linked Facebook post which, in turn, links you to the video. They're all goofing around in it, lip synching to Hello by Adele, Shake It Off by Taylor Swift, & I Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd (I think that's the last song). Most of you will think it's too long to be bothered with it (it runs a little over 10 minutes), I'm sure; but I think it's funny & worth watching (I'm "easy" when it comes to all things H50, what can I say?), so I hope some of you will watch it (at least long enough to see your favorite cast member, if they're in it). https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10154734085654638&id=813369637

S06.E18: Kanaka Hahai (The Hunter)
BW Manilowe replied to BW Manilowe's topic in Hawaii Five-0 (2010)
Regarding the issue of legal Hawaii residency, H50 films there for about 9-10 months per "year" (a "year" for them being like a school year, starting in 1 calendar year & finishing in the next). They film from early/mid-July to early April, usually; S6 just wrapped this past Wednesday, the 6th, & the S6 Wrap Party was the next day, the 7th. That's 9-10 months (again, like a school year). If you spend that much time there in a calendar year, whether you commute back & forth, as Scott & Masi Oka (who travels among Hawaii, the Mainland, & Japan during filming) do, or if you "plant yourself" there for the duration of the job (as most or all the other leads have, particularly DDK & Alex who've moved there pretty much permanently), wouldn't spending that much consecutive time there basically establish legal Hawaii residency? And, as far as Scott having had his dog, Dot, declared/certified as a Service Animal to possibly help with entry requirements, she's certainly large enough to perhaps be 1 (she's an Aussie Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix). Plus, I remember seeing a pic of Scott & her which someone posted to Social Media a bit farther back in the series (like in S2 or S3). They were on a plane, in First Class, apparently either flying to or from Hawaii & Dot was basically sitting on Scott's lap, facing him, with him in the plane seat (which is why I mentioned they were in First Class--the seats are probably wide enough, or close enough, for both to fit; plus I think the SAG-AFTRA contracts specify union members have to travel in First Class for work). Anyway, the reason I mention this pic is the fact that Dot is... A) In the cabin with him (at her size, she might not be small enough to travel as a cabin kennel animal) & B) The only way Dot should be able to be in Scott's lap in that pic should be if she is considered a Service Animal by the airlines (or at least by Hawaiian Airlines, which I think everybody involved with H50 usually flies), as far as I know. Again, as far as I know, the only animals in a passenger aircraft cabin which don't have to be confined to a cabin kennel for the duration of a flight are Service Animals traveling with their owners. Or... H50's production staff seems to know people in both local Honolulu & Hawaii state government pretty well, because of dealing with them in relation to filming. Maybe those relationships help, somehow, when trying to import pets of longterm-role actors on the show. -

NBC & Dick Wolf, the developer of the Law and Order & Chicago (Fire, PD, Med, & now Law [or Justice]) franchises are developing a new entry in the Law and Order franchise, Law and Order True Crime, as a result of the success of ACS. They're intending to do the Menendez Brothers case first. So that's probably out. http://deadline.com/2016/04/law-order-true-crime-anthology-series-the-menendez-brothers-murders-dick-wolf-nbc-1201733198/
