Because Meri seems to go out of her way to cause trouble with everyone else. Doesn’t matter what others needs are, it’s all about Meri’s wants to be fancy and top dog. Also if she were downstairs she’d complain about stomping above her.

After Kodylocks, Christine prob wanted a bald guy on purpose. Bald is so much more attractive than whatever kody had going on. This man looks normal and nice, from the one whole pic we see lol. He’s handsome, on par with Christine looks wise. I hope if this is what she wants, it works out.

I think elevator repair is a great career choice. Yeah I’m sure there will be some travel involved, but even 2-3 story buildings can have more than one elevator, and the all need inspected and repaired. Think of all the schools, government buildings, malls, parking garages, hospitals, small offices in addition to high rises. He could earn a good living, especially if he’s Union. You don’t have to live in Manhattan to work on elevators.

Love the white pants outfit and Mykelti is prettier than I remembered. All Christine’s girls are pretty. Truly looks a hot mess but middle school aged kids are supposed to be hot messes - mine are for sure lol.

I am prob too hard on Maddie not actually becoming a nurse, or a Supreme Court Justice, or a rocket scientist, etc. The Browns just irritate me with their grandiose plans that they never finish. They jump ship as soon as something gets hard or too expensive.

My mother in law, multiple sisters in law, sister, several cousins are all nurses. All RNs, some bedside in hospitals, some part time, 2 nurse pracs and one in nurse anesthetist school. With the travel contracts, the bedside nurses are making more money than the NPs and basically choosing their hours, days, local or nationwide travel, etc. Some went through 2 year RN, some started as LPN and transitioned to RN then BSN, then NP, some went straight through a 4 year BSN. But the thing all had in common is that the coursework is really difficult, fast paced, strenuous, full of clinicals, and those who do not have the ability to work in a very structured environment and study quite a bit do not make it. The classes were fast paced, and either difficult concepts or easier material that had a lot small details. I see the Brown kids, especially the ones who come off as thinking they are Very Important Snowflakes making it through anything like this. Maddie is one of them. I like her better than a lot of the kids, but she has some of the Janelle directness with a whole lot of Kody arrogance and smugness. Was she one of the home schoolers, too? I can see her struggling with any program that did not give a rats behind who her family is, how noble and unique they think their religion is, or how smart she is amongst her family. You’re going to stick to a schedule and do these inconveniently times clinicals like everyone else. You’re going to follow protocol and carry out orders from providers that work on science and evidence based practice, not essential oils and pink drink. You’re going to start off wiping butts and feeding Mamaw, not straight to rocket surgery. TLDR: a lot of people who don’t have discipline and struggle with classes don’t end up working in the medical field. It amazes me that the one brother made it through the Air Force Academy, but then again, he was never one of the splashy, smug kids.

Were they ever asking him to be anywhere for 6 weeks? Or just to be there a few DAYS max for Ysabel’s surgery.

There is no honor among thieves . Meri was trying to con her own family, but was actually being the one conned. Just because Kody is an Asshat and Sam was a Catfish, it doesn’t negate that Meri was also cheating on her spouse and asking her child to lie about it all. They’re all guilty, and yet Kody and Meri could both be seen as victims of con artist.

That was a stupid decision if she’s looking for a broad degree and return on investment. If I could do things over, I’d have seen the versatility of a 2 year Associate degree in nursing - RN degree after passing boards. Coursework is super hard, but there’s such a variety of jobs, specialties, hours, etc for RNs and most areas are begging for nurses. Most have multiple offers before graduating, plus you’re making a valuable contribution to society with decent pay, and can go on up to the doctorate level. Biology is 4 years and can be difficult to find anything related.

Leon comes off as too physically lazy to do anything military.

I’d anticipate a lot of breath talk and gushing about how she’s only ever dated one man, doesn’t know how to navigate dating, acting shocked, setting her up with some ethnicities and lifestyles that are far from AUB types, no real intention of finding Mr Right. Christine is dramatic and knows how to put on a show. She may get a season or two of a starting over dating show. Meri - she can’t string a convo together or answer anything directly, and she’s smug or defensive. No show for her that anyone will watch. Janelle is steady but boring. Maybe a fun side bar to Christine’s show, but not enough to carry her own. Nobody wants to watch just Robyn and Kody unless they start looking for another victim and that victim ends up playing them for fools. I can’t imagine what it would take for them to redeem themselves with the hole they’ve dug.

Same. The 2 times I’ve liked Leon was when they called Meri out for the catfish affair, kody is an ass and a terrible husband, but she did have an affair. Would’ve left if that person has been rill. Other time was when Leon came out and the ABC interview after, where they actually seemed like an honest, normal, down to earth kid scared to death but also like a weight had been lifted, instead of being Meri Jr.

Please no Leon and Audrey next season. A transitioning grown child SHOULD be interesting in their conservative faith, etc., but Leon is so hipster pretentious that I can’t even try to want to watch them snarl and snark about how no one gets them and how enlightened they are. I’d feel this way if Leon were straight/cis/non-transitioned/whatever terminology we need. That kid is obnoxious.

Welp hate to defend them, but they are standing right over top of the napping babies, not like they’ve left them alone all night. My twins also always ended up wadded up in each others faces, even if swaddled next to each other.

Leon is actually likeable and relatable in that interview. Meri and Kody are the same, just toned down.

Meri is so resentful of the other wives for their big families and closeness. I can completely believe she’s resent Maddie, who was close in age to Meris kid, but Maddie always seemed far more pleasant, mature, etc, while Meri’s kid was a total brat. Hate to say it, but Maddie was a prettier child, and I think Meri resented Maddie and some of the kids who present the image of a big happy generic smiling Mormon family better than bratty Meri Jr. I also think Meri and Leon always came off as acting like they thought they were better or more important than Janelle and Christine and their kids, and couldn’t understand why flaunting how they had more money per person and more everything would isolate them some. I will never understand Meri’s demand for More Bigger Everything when she was literally taking money for food from the other wives kids. Meri has been notorious for saying she wants something then when confronted doing the total opposite. She wanted more kids and invitro, etc, but when Stelath Bitch Robin volunteered to be her surrogate, Meri said nope. (Which was a win win for Robin - Meri accepted, Robin is a precious selfless baby incubator, then can hand the kid over and be done, Meri refuses, Robin tried and Meri looks selfish). She says she wants a huge polyg family, but when asked to help mother other kids, she says she doesn’t want stuck with them. She says she wants to help with a family business, but when asked she says nope she’s going back to school. the best is she says she doesn’t want to be married to kody, and when he says ok GO, she says nope, I’m staying. Stupid, stupid choices. When she isn’t getting her way and being able to Lord over everyone, she has a fit and does the opposite of what she’s offered. She’s a vile piece of work. I have no doubt in my mind she was mean and hateful yo everyone there, especially kids she resented or who she thought was challenging her in any way - challenging her by direct defiance, by their personalities, or even by their mere existence. These kids can’t help it if they were born and that Meri never had the Perfect Golden Man Child Heir that she wanted.

That would prob work out better bc Mama R wouldn’t be competing as much with a male partner as a female. Not insinuating anything incesty of sexual, I just think Robyn automatically, unconsciously is in competition with any female she encounters. Ive always wondered what part of the spectrum Dayton is actually on. She makes it out like he needs a lot of coddling and protection, but he seems pretty independent and more capable than she wants to give credit. She’s just controlling.

Robyn has chosen to live her life being dependent upon a man to support her. First husband that she trapped with a pregnancy didn’t work out so she split. Married kody then rilly married kody and didn’t work a day after, somehow ended up with a nanny. now that that’s all imploding and the money is drying up, she’ll either: 1) decide Kody is mentally ill and abusive as soon as sniffs out her next husband, she’ll be the victim who has to flee. 2) stick it out with Kody until Dayton is old enough to be saddled with her - when she sends kody to a home or he passes. But either way, God help whoever Dayton decides to be with, because Robyn will be the mother in law from hell. She can be as loving and open minded as they come with other wives kids, but watch and see what happens if any of hers do anything to jeopardize her old lady income.

Looks more to me like somebody from Tiger King; nobody specific, just that crazy, unwashed, unkept, little bit off but desperate for attention vibe. Looks like Leon just rolled onto of bed in undies and needs a shower. How much of this was done to irritate their parents? This is a far cry from Kodys white bread patriarchy lifestyle or Meri wanting to come off like everything is Stepford Wife Brady Bunch perfect. I mean live your best life Leon, but take a shower and put on some pants, please. This is what I’ve been trying to figure out how to express. Still pretentious and self righteous, desperate for attention yet claiming to shun it, just shifted from polygamist child to dirty hipster adult.

Ew. Leon always looks so sloppy. Take a shower, comb your hair, brush your teeth, put on some clothes. Is that underwear? You can spend 20min making coffee but can’t take five min to shower?

Honestly I don’t think it’s that odd that none of them became Rocket Surgeons. I worked in higher Ed for a long long time pre-babies, and just about every kid who starts college, and their parents, thinks they’re going to be something insanely unique and successful. It’s worse when you have homeschoolers or first generation college attendees or delusional isolated people like the Browns. They’re all going to be doctors, Barbara Walters level journalists, combat flight nurses, UN delegates, Oscar winning actors, etc. Nobody from this background ever thinks they are going to drop out or stay and just be a teacher, office worker, state employee, tradesperson etc, but very few of them actually finish a degree or do anything out of the ordinary. Have to say nothing is wrong with any of these careers, but they’re not glamourous, lofty, or high paying (well except some blue collar trades, but they Browns are all physically lazy and terrible at realistic problem solving). I remember when they were all whining about Meri’s child HAVING to go to some tiny yet extravagantly expensive private college nobody had ever heard of. It’s like Meri and her kid thought if that was not that specific college, the world would literally end. Maybe I missed that xfiles episode. But now what are they doing? Yoga and Instagram. Same with Mykelti and fashion school. Honey your whole family put together doesn’t have one pinky finger worth of style. Your sketches were beyond amateur even for a high school kid. Maybe you can design for Walmart? Maddie and Supreme Court Justice, yea ok. Maybe try paralegal studies and hope for the best. You don’t have the drive for law school let alone a politically backed position. Not knocking paralegals but a 2 year legal assistant degree is more realistic and a decent job. Maybe one day one of them will prove us all wrong with their special uniqueness, and out of all of them the ones who take after Kodys brash salesman personality might make it some type of sales, but none of them have shown the drive, looks, or basically anything interesting enough to be rich and famous. They got this show because Big Love was popular and the idea of polygamy was daring, but none of these people besides manic Kody have much of a personality, and his is just looking insane at the moment.

Yeah he’s Kody made over. Sounds just like him, voice, inflection, ranting, arrogance.
