  1. Nope. Those 2 Queens were lightning in a bottle that Ru managed to get twice.
  2. Episode 4: Sigh. Ah well. I sometimes wonder why Drag Race is such an emotional meat grinder. I'm not a fan of the excessive drama and psychological scarring that regular seasons seem to do to Queens (and sometimes the Judges!). Should the runways and critiques take so long? I fear for Minty Fresh, because she seems to lean heavily on Xilhouete, who is just one more breakdown from leaving the competition herself. Vinas is now showing flashes of Mean Girl and I don't like that. I admit I was tickled when PPN came out looking exactly like the Special Guest Judge. She got her a RuBadge now! Say what you will about Lady Morgana; she is a Beast as a Drag performer! Turing sashays away. (I still love her the most!)
  3. A dead mother could certainly add to the anxiety of being a girl in this world. Incidentally, how old is Viserys supposed to be? Seems like the stress of being King and the Iron Throne cutting him up is making him seem older that he might be.
  4. Alicent has a nervous tic that has her tearing her fingernails off. She was shown doing this in Episode 1 at the tourney and again at the meeting this episode. I thought that Viserys was going to tell Rhaenyra that he wanted to marry Alicent instead of Laena, since they were getting closer. Apparently he told no one until the Small Council Meeting, judging by the looks of everyone around the table. Viserys just wasn't going to marry that baby, and Corlys should have seen that. There were no other Velaryon women he could have offered up instead? But I understood that cementing the families together would have guaranteed that the Sea Snake would continue to do the King's bidding. Looks like Targaryen men tend to do things against their own interests; what was Daemon hoping to accomplish other than pissing Viserys off?
  5. Episode 3: Turing remains my favorite. I wish that she would put on a gown and really turn up! I also knew that PPE would fall to the Flexbomb Girls because of all the shit they were talking. I was really surprised at Xilhouete and Minty Fresh looking like they never performed a day in their lives during "Pop Off Ate!". All that ganging up on Brigiding only for her team to win the challenge. Heh. PPN talking about she missed picking Turing for her team; girl, you had first choice! After seeing the lip sync, Turing would have been my first choice in a performance challenge. The Runway: 3 queens didn't even wear shoes! Some of them took the theme a bit too literally, and Xilhouete decided not to wear her classic black. This runway was especially for her! I was shocked, but then she might have gotten hit with that "You wear the same colors every Runway" critique... Gigi looked a mess. Somehow she missed that you have to be pretty even in gruesome looking drag. Shoes, lashes. and stones would have made such a difference in her presentation. The judging took so long that Gigi was wearing a completely different outfit. Plus Mama Pao was determined to bring up mother trauma and cried her makeup off. Xilhouete and Gigi Era were the bottom 2; the lip sync song was "Glamazon" by RuPaul. Gigi Era sashays away.
  6. Running from Traffic Court, no less. I'm not going to sweat Jen taking this new job. Remember, the MCU version of the Avengers (whoever is left from the original team) aren't getting paid anymore, since Tony is gone. There's not a lot any superhero can do unless they have someone bankrolling the superhero exploits! I wonder who is going to introduce Jen to Wong and the other supernaturals in the MCU?
  7. I know I would be tired of that constant backhanded insult of being "The Queen Who Never Was". I would ask for the tongues, then the heads of anyone who called me that to my face! Dracarys! I'm in, though I thank Twitter for the warning about the horrific childbirth scenes.
  8. I am amazed at how a fun, woman led show reads as against men to certain people...
  9. Actually, going by her words, and I wish that the director made the time difference clearer, Jen had been a Hulk for a few months. It just looked like she became a Hulk and bam! was back to her life relatively quickly. Bruce was trying to keep her on that island for years. I'll say that she was with him for 3-4 months before she decided to go home.
  10. Coming from the US version, the judges from other countries seem very harsh. Thankfully, the queens don't seem to be as sensitive about criticism, and I am definitely for proper criticism in the proper context. Mama Pao was practically all of us when she saw Prince's outfit capping off with those horrible shoes! She almost couldn't focus on anything else and I was right there with her. It wasn't done to be mean or to bully the queens; they had to know what was wrong so they could step their pussy up! Episode 2: I loved that quick drag in the Philippines does not mean ugly drag. The DRPH Pit Crew looks real nice. Heh. It was dope that the fashion guest judge really gave the queens good and workable advice. I was giving Turing the side eye when she was showing Mama Pao the skirt. Honey, if you can sew, do a whole gown! It's easy to see where a bunch of queens overthought the challenge, ending with Corazon trying to slide her own dress under the busy cage she built because she probably ran out of time. This is the one time I would have looked past pasting flowers on a corset; those were real flowers (plus some of the queens really needed a corset)! I was actually scared for Vinas Deluxe and was happy that she won the main challenge. I was impressed that she fell and her outfit stayed together! I just knew Turing was going to eat Corazon up in the lip sync. I like Turing, though I don't think her taste level is high enough for this show. I wonder what the rest of her drag looks like and if we will get to see most of it. Corazon sashays away.
  11. This is a gorgeous group of queens! I'm liking this show. My faves are Minty Fresh and Xilhouete so far.
  12. Sigh. The audio is really bad in this show and they aren't doing a great job of keeping the celebrity "secret" if we wanted to do a little digging. Plus, the makeup on some of the queens looked horrible on my HD screen. What, they couldn't afford Raven or Laila McQueen to work on the celebrities? Maybe only Ru and Michelle get the best makeup, because they looked beautiful. In terms of performance, I figured it would be Poppy Love or Chik-La-Fay winning the week. Those were the only two performances I enjoyed. Wow, Loretta Devine just rolled out of bed for this appearance. I thought that the "before Fabulosity" photo was shade, but that's what she looked like coming into the Werkroom! I might fast forward this season...
  13. Man, I would have kept Faux Fur; on the other hand, the other queens are probably glad that loud bitch went home. Heh. Spankie didn't even bother to tuck, did she? Now queens. This show has been on for decades. Why are we still showing up without any sewing or design skills? You KNOW that you have to make a garment yourself out of bullshyt materials the very minute you walk into the Werkroom. I can't understand why you didn't immediately sign up for sewing classes the second you knew you were selected to compete. Kween Kong... I'm glad you were safe. You is foine! Hopefully Minnie Cooper can teach those young whippersnappers about how Drag is done!
  14. Now you know Brooke can't feel her face! I just want her to get rid of the mullet. Vanjie can do no wrong in my eyes. LUUUURRRRVE her.
  15. Yep, HD does the queens no favors! They might need to go back to the vaseline on the lens method of filming Drag Race.
  16. I'm liking Lady Boom Boom. Most of these queens are lewk queens, but pretty makeup and beautiful gowns will only take you so far. I really didn't like the lip sync song.
  17. Season 3!!!! I'm rooting for Chelazon Leroux, BomBae, and Jada Shada Hudson! Miss Fiercalicious is quite the snappy queen... I'm also liking Lady Boom Boom. I hated to see Halal Bae go, but she didn't know the words to the lip sync song. It didn't help that Miss Moco had me mesmerized from the start.
  18. I didn't notice that MD was not at the judge's table at first. But he chews so much scenery every episode, he may not need to eat the actual food. When the camera pans to him stalking the stage of Kitchen Stadium, I just laugh.
  19. I liked this iteration of Drag Race! I've watched enough of these shows to be able to tell which queens aren't ready for the DR pressure cooker. La Kahena was showing all of the signs. Nicky Doll is an excellent host!
  20. I'll be honest; I didn't think Curtis Stone was on the same level as Tsai, Samuelsson, Crenn, and Camera. But he definitely outclassed that chef with a mullet. Morimoto has been an Iron Chef the majority of his career; he seems much happier to not be on the cooking side of the kitchen! I can't stand Bobby Flay, and it is good to have a team of Iron Chefs who aren't beholden to FN.
  21. I loved it! It placed the dominoes neatly and I can't wait to see how they fall next season. Listen, I am as much of a continuity and canon purist as anyone here; I learned to cut that portion of my brain off and to enjoy what I was seeing. Consider that SNW is a prequel show to what we already know is going to happen; there won't be any wild diversions on the road to TOS and folks need to stop bitching about how this show chooses to flesh itself out and add diversity to the established story we have already seen. I'm certainly not going to listen to people who obviously never have seen an episode of Star Trek whine about how "woke" the shows are. They been 'woke' since the debut episode in 1966! I knew this was going to be a hot episode once I saw Admiral Pike. I was thinking, "Well, let's see what happens if Pike decides to save those children and himself from what was fated to happen..." SNW Kirk is cool, he can stay. I did like how Pike had to slap him down a few pegs after arguing about how to engage the Romulans. I had forgotten how Vulcans basically excised the Romulans out of their memories and history. Speck was, "I don't know dem!" when everyone looked him. Ortegas going on about the "pointy-eared elephant in the room" had me chuckling. Pike had me at telling Ortegas to stand down loudly and forcefully... Yep. That's why I never minded all the emphasis placed on Spock in this series. He is a very important piece of the timeline and his actions ripple through every Star Trek show and movie. I also thought it was cool to see Black Romulans. Despite what the racists try to do, Black people will be in the future. You can't stop us! *stepping off my soapbox* ETA: I forgot to talk about La'an and her growth, plus that tidbit about Una that played into the end of the episode! She looked healed and relaxed. Obviously, she found that girl's family. When Uhura noted that the Farragut was "La'an's ship", I assumed she was the captain. I'm so glad I managed to dodge the spoilers until I was able to watch the show.
  22. I never said that the Sparrows were great people; maybe Marcus, Sloan and Fei were the best of the lot, because Jayme, Ben, and Alphonso were jerks of the highest order and Christopher was a mystery. At the time they were with Pogo, that was probably the best they could be as a team.
  23. No. Lila supposedly got pregnant while they were in Hotel Obsidian. She wouldn't have been pregnant long enough for the baby to register as its own entity yet. Or she was lying yet again.
  24. In this timeline, the Sparrows were the ones who was supposed to go to Hotel Oblivion and defeat the Samurai guarding the portal. Pogo stalled those plans by giving the Sparrows the drugs to keep Reginald from enacting that mission. This Reginald bumps into the Umbrellas in 1963 and realizes that this group of children was a hot steaming mess and would probably ruin the original plan to resurrect his wife, Abigail. So when the Umbrellas ended up in this 2019 timeline, they upended Pogo's original plan to keep the Sparrows safe and alive. Once Klaus helped this Reginald regain his clarity, he was smart enough to cobble the 7 children together from both teams to get his wife back. As for Allison, I fear this new reality may not be her heaven. It will warp on her somehow because Ray and Claire probably aren't supposed to be in the same reality together. If we get a Season 4, it will be something to see the Umbrellas/Sparrows navigate the new reality without their powers.
