  1. Yay for Tuvok! Too bad he was already compromised. I'm a Voyager fan, so I liked it. So in spite of Geordi's refusals, there are enough Changelings in Starfleet to usher the ENTIRE FLEET of ships to an almost certain death. Frontier Day is in mere hours; how is Picard going to make a speech if he is a fugitive? (I don't want to think too much on that...) Did anybody bother to tell Worf and Raffi that Will is on the Shrike? Sigh. So whatever is going on with Picard and Jack goes way beyond Irumodic Syndrome. I'm still getting Pah-Wraithian hints here. While I love Vadic chewing the scenery to shreds, I want to know what happened to Will and "Troi". I had to turn the captions on because everyone was talking so low! Why does Vadic's superior want Jack? Ugh. Yeah, I totally believed that Picard didn't know half of the shady shyt that Section 31 was up to. That's pretty much SOP for them. This part of the story definitely needed DS9 folks like Bashir involved. Because he clearly intends to kill his enemies and everybody else is set to stun. I startled my son by yelling for Sydney to kill Vadic's head lackey. I was glad that they didn't kill her when they had her dead to rights. On a side note, Alandra is stuck to Geordi's side always, isn't she? That kind of enmeshment seems strange to me. And still no mention of his wife in that heartfelt speech to DataLore... With the amount of times Admiral Janeway has been mentioned in almost every episode, we should be seeing Kate Mulgrew by the series finale. A high ranking admiral that nobody can get in touch with or close to? Smells like a stunt to me.
  2. Maneet got knocked out early last year. Last year's semi-finalists were this year's #1 seeds. I probably would have dipped Stephanie's sandwich into the au jus instead of pouring it over the sandwich.
  3. Michelle Bernstein is a weird judge for this type of show. The food you think she would like, she absolutely doesn't and eating sandwiches with a knife and fork is ... very weird to me.
  4. No, it looks like she was only counselor on the Enterprise until she took the command track training exam and was promoted to Commander serving on the Titan. Any other canon may have been in the Star Trek Titan novels, which I haven't read. I guess she may have served while Riker was Captain until she had their children.
  5. I also found Vadic's plan of snatching any person remotely associated to Picard kind of ridiculous, since almost everyone close to Picard is already with him. I don't think Changelings would mess with Laris, would they? Riker being on the away mission seemed strange; I get that someone who was close to DataLoreSoong was needed to get to him, but he didn't have a moment with Worf?
  6. As far as DataLoreSoong is aware, he was merely answering the question posed to him. I didn't think that DLS would have been so verbose right after being reactivated, so it was a simple answer for him. I feel that we (the audience AND the Original TNG/Titan group assembled) were supposed to assume that DLS was glitching, which made DLS go "Let me show these bammas what I meant; I'm tired of repeating myself". It would have been a little too on the nose for DLS to answer, "The remains of Jean-Luc Picard." Speaking of which, did Picard make arrangements for his body's resting place? I can't believe he just left his original body on the Synth planet once he left with Soji. I would have made sure to have that interred at the Chateau!
  7. I mean, Sydney and Alandra put themselves "in danger" the moment they joined Starfleet... What's in Hangar 12, Geordi? I wonder if the changelings were planning to replace Geordi, since he is the one shooting down the "have the ENTIRE Fleet in one spot for Frontier Day!" idea... Data died the second time in the first season of Star Trek Picard. I figure the mothballed ships in the Fleet museum will play a part in the final battle. Whose bright idea was it to have Starfleet ships communicate with each other independently and why didn't EngineerCaptain Shaw know that? Who is the Chief Engineer of the Titan?!?!?
  8. He looks every bit of 35. Maybe they should have used the de-aging tech on him more. I make it a point to stay away from Twitter, because I don't want to be spoiled. I am avoiding the Ready Room as well until the season is finished. I knew Geordi was coming, because I saw his face in a YouTuber review sneak peak; but the end of the episode made up for that momentary annoyance.
  9. Listen. I am full of the nostalgia nanobytes and I liked this episode! So Section 31 had Picard's body and now lost it to the changelings? I was also wondering why they didn't just take the Defiant... Data/Soong/Lore is in play! Who is Geordi married to? This thing between Geordi and Sydney is because she chose not to be an engineer? Come on. If Sydney were male, this probably wouldn't have been an issue! I'll fanwank that Vadic is under considerable stress and needs the cigarettes to help them cope with the meatsuit they are forced to wear. Cannabis is still a thing here. If Vadic doesn't also have Kestra, I'll believe that this Troi is a changeling. We will see if Riker is smart enough to test to see if this is his Imzadi. I can't believe that Troi would allow herself to be taken that easily. I did chuckle at DataLoreSoong repeating what the Changelings stole from Daystrom and probably wondering why the others didn't get what he was saying before showing them what he meant. Cremation is definitely the order of business. How odd for Section 31 to keep the remains of these particular captains... I need that Section 31 show now! Again, full of nostalgia nanobytes; I was naming each ship along with Jack. I find that the explanation for the visions to be partly okay for the moment, but how did Beverley not know about Picard's disease when Jack had those symptoms as a child? Sigh. Heh. I guess Klingon craftsmanship is also superior! I still liked this episode.
  10. It stopped the Intrepid from warping after the Titan. That was the only point that mattered. Ro wasn't trying to take anyone else with her; she needed the Titan to get away.
  11. For all of their new abilities, these changelings certainly wasn't bright enough to simply scan for Jack. I wonder if Jack having the ability to suss out changelings in his fugue state might have something to do with how gingerly they are being in trying to capture him alive. They are killing folks left and right, but tiptoeing around Jack himself. What about the Titan crewmembers on the Intrepid? This has to be a nightmare for them!
  12. I also liked that Raffi is an honorary Klingon now. "Raffaela, of the House of Musiker" has a nice ring to it! Time for Geordi and Deanna to get in on the hijinks and yet another Soong to pop up before we get to Lore... Being on the run is going to be problematic as hell; how are you going to hide a starship? Where can our intrepid heroes go to hide while sorting out this changeling situation? Just call me impatient to get to the next episode...
  13. Ro Laren! I was afraid that she was a Changeling at first. This confirms that the Changelings have infiltrated Starfleet. So they are going to get revenge and destroy Section 31 (Plus the Federation) for the end of the Dominion War! I don't think Jack is a changeling. So how skeleton is the Titan crew now? And did they finally rid her of the Changelings aboard? Poor Shaw. He was so gleeful about getting Picard, Riker, and Seven sent to the pokey. Now he is on the run, no Jay-Z/Beyonce! Heh. Well, the rules would have to be rewritten in order to infiltrate any organization at high levels. I'm pretty sure that you would have to either evolve or be tinkered with in order to get your lick back at folks who imprisoned you... I wonder when we will see the Female Changeling? Also, will we see Emperor Georgiou, perhaps using Picard's finale as a backdoor pilot to the Section 31 show?
  14. What I found on another site: First off, in what universe does Antonia Lofaso deserve a No. 1 seed? Jet Tila, sure. He has shown how good he is year after year, but Lofaso? In Season 2 she didn’t make it to the quarter finals and last year she was bounced by Joe Sasto in the first round. Not No. 1 seed material. Then in the East Coast you have Tobias Dorzon as the No. 1 seed along with Season 3 winner Tiffani Faison. Now, according to the rules set forth by Fieri, the four semifinalists from the previous tournament are automatically the No. 1 seeds the following season. Episode 4: The randomizer has lower seed respin, higher seed respin, and Guy's Choice! I like that it is not the same options every week. The judges: Nancy Silverton, Ming Tsai, Jonathan Waxman Tobias Dorzon vs. Leah Cohen - I'm rooting for Tobias! I am unfamiliar with Leah Cohen. The randomizer gives Guy a choice to respin; the chefs couldn't come to a consensus on various spins, so Guy chooses to respin equipment which was the panini press. Guy respins, and the randomizer hears Leah go panini press, and grants her wish! Heh. Leah makes a venison Larb and Tobias makes a venison curry dish. Tobias wins! The judges really liked his dish better and scored the 2 points more on his presentation. Joe Sasto vs. Elizabeth Falkner - I'm not high on either of them. Her hair looks wild and Joe's mustache is not even; we don't want hair in the food, chefs! Audience choice replaces Guy's choice on the randomizer. Lower seed respin is in effect, so Elizabeth respins the equipment; toaster becomes metal skewers! Joe makes a butter chicken with rutabaga noodles and Elizabeth makes Turkish chicken skewers with rutabaga hummus. I did chuckle at Guy telling Elizabeth to get up off the floor. Joe wins! That one point difference is a killer, which was scored in Taste. Pretty decent for a chef who never made butter chicken before. Karen Akunowicz vs. Christian Petroni - Again, I am not high on either of them. Wait, she has a baby 9 weeks ago? I have to give her props for that! The randomizer substitutes the seed respins for moving up or down. She stays on these chefs necks! Audience choice pops up, so they choose to respin protein; turkey drumstick becomes pancetta! Christian makes a free form lasagna with pancetta bechamel sauce and Karen makes a pancetta chickpea stew. I like both dishes! Karen wins! Antonia Lafaso vs. Shota Nakajima - I'm rooting for Shota! Antonia is coming in hot; "When I beat Shota..." May Guy never call Shota "The Ninja" again. Guy called Antonia "The Princess Warrior". Is "Warrior Princess" copyrighted? Heh. Antonia explains the randomizer to Shota, much to Guy's chagrin. "She will hear you and give us what we don't want!" LOL! I guess she wanted an even playing field by pulling Shota along as soon as Guy said go; I'm sure he would have figured things out as soon as he sees you run off. She just took all of Guy's fun away! The randomizer ends on Move One Up; the chefs choose to move up the equipment. Nobody wanted to mess with a toaster, so it becomes a blow torch! Antonia makes Moroccan Spiced Short Ribs and Shota makes Herb Forward Teriyaki Short Ribs. Shota wins, knocking Antonia out of the competition! Next week is going to be awesome!
  15. Vadic destroyed that one. While I got a good fright knowing that wasn't the real Sidney, I also got a bit of second hand embarrassment because surely Sidney doesn't go around constantly name checking her father in every conversation with the Titan crew. Sis, we know who your daddy is. Would you really say that to the Captain who obviously knows who you are? I'm sure that "As my father Geordi LaForge, said..." tends to get tired after a while. Sidney can't be that annoying. I still enjoyed Riker throwing an ateroid at the Shrike. He is still so scandalized that he had a starship thrown at him and that tickles me so much!
  16. Well, that is where it was stolen from in Episode one. Now we need to know what else was taken, or if the portal weapon was just a misdirect. Since Vadic jettisoned it into space, will we no longer be threatened by it?
  17. Or, Seven could have called for Sidney over the comm and heard her answer from the Bridge. But I let that slide just to hear Seven tell Shaw to put some respeck on her name. Heh.
  18. Not if Sidney isn't part of engineering. I wonder who is the Titan's chief engineer? Jack was calling out coordinates to Picard so Picard could tell Sidney where to go. Any child of Starfleet should be able to do that. It's not like Jack knocked Sidney out of her seat and piloted the Titan himself.
  19. I'm willing to let that slide. Even if Shaw knew for certain that this was not Sidney, there wasn't much he could do about it being flat on his back on the floor with no weapon handy. I guess the changeling assumed since this is a LaForge, she would have to be in engineering... despite wearing command colors. Heh.
  20. I didn't even notice it at first. There was so much discussion about Picard cussing and whether or not he would do that, so I rewatched and I thought that it was placed where it was for emphasis of how horrible those hours back to safety must have been for him and Crusher the First. You would have thought Picard cussed at Jack for all the hand wringing! It makes more sense that the holodecks in the later starships have been engineered to have their own power source since the holodeck has been the main cause of numerous ship altering shenanigans across Trek shows.
  21. I actually like Shaw now. And the scene at Ten Forward? Chef's Kiss. The looks his crew gave him after his outburst and him acknowledging his assholishness had me cackling. That scene in engineering has me screaming. I thought the changeling would have gummed up the works inside the Titan after Seven let it get away. I will give Seven a pass for that since this is her first experience with a changeling. It was also cute that it thought that these 2 people wouldn't know that the real Crash was actually piloting the ship at that time. But it was good that Seven knew something about her that the changeling didn't and was able to zing Shaw at the same time. It's Commander Seven of Nine to you, sir! So Jack did seek Picard out and totally misread the situation. Why at a bar? He could have went to the Chateau and gotten what he wanted! Ugh. But the crimp in that memory was still that Picard didn't even know Jack existed. Beverly didn't send a heads-up; that still makes her the bad person in that situation! So Vadic is a changeling. So what do they want with Jack? I also think that it may have more to do with Jack having some sort of Borg thing inside him that the changelings might want to exploit. He is the only biological child of an Ex-B; just spitballing here.
  22. Episode 3: Lots of chefs making their TOC debut this episode! The audience gets a slot on the Randomizer. Cool! The judges: Scott Conant, Nancy Silverton, Andrew Zimmern Maneet Chauhan vs. Jonathon Sawyer - I'm rooting for Maneet! Hopefully Jonathon covers all that hair in the kitchen. All this talk about taking her belt; sir, you cannot take a 2-year-old belt. Heh. They make a new one every year. Maneet wins! Highest score this season with a 92. Tracey Shepos Cenami vs Shirley Chung - I'm rooting for Shirley. I like how they respect each other's skills and talents. I guess we have to give winners of GGG battles their props! I don't watch GGG, so most of them are unknown to me. Battle Tofu against the Dumpling Mafia Queen? Fuggeddaboudit. Shirley wins! Adam Sobel vs Nate Appleman - Not familiar with either of them. Adam was Shirley's boss? Heh. I want him to win just he can lose to her. Adam wins! Stephanie Izard vs. Madison Cowan - I'm rooting for Madison. He was really stuck on the yellow squash. Stephanie wins! By one point. And that is it for Madison. He was a worthy competitor!
  23. They can only use what comes off the platform for their dishes. The kitchens have a limited spice pantry and equipment depending on the level. The top kitchen probably has the most, middle kitchen has less, the basement kitchen has very little. That's why most of the dishes are probably seasoned less then they would be in a normal stocked kitchen.
  24. This episode was so stressful. Cassie is going to be the one who makes me cuss. Chris is the one who is going to make me file a restraining order... There is no rule that says you can't use what falls off the platform. I believe that a protein fell into the basement kitchen last season that someone knocked off the platform. These chef's grabbing skills are poor. I thought that you would grab the protein first, then grab what to use around it. Gordon finally loses one. Nyesha has an awesome team. Richard has one great cook on his team. Tineke is deadly talented; frog legs?
