  1. I didn't guess either of those questions, but I did know GWTW was the movie answer since I saw that in a theater last year, and it had an intermission (movies nowadays don't), and lots of stores were closed by the time the movie let out!
  2. So do I! For the first questions, I like to answer before the answers are shown. Disclaimer: I am not ALWAYS correct. Ha ha. Next week I am going to keep track of how much money I would have won and lost based on my answers. (Or lack thereof.) I couldn't figure out why the uncle, who had so much faith in his nephew answering correctly, kept playing from position 1. What was up with that?
  3. I liked David Davis' song from the beginning and, interestingly, thought he sang it better than Ben Platt.
  4. Color me shallow, but I was rooting for the blond guy in the blue outfit to win. 'Nuff said.
  5. Thanks for the recap Otto. I've started to not pay attention to who the players are or their backstories, and I am not interested in the ball drops. I just like the questions. I did have some jaw-dropping episodes when the two decided a dog-sled driver is a Denali, not a musher, and that Sherlock lived on Fleet Street, not Baker. Then it was decided Jahmar would go into the tower to answer questions. Chris: Jahmar, are you a trivia guy? Jahmar; Yes, I am! Me: No, you are NOT! My feeling was reinforced when Jahmar said Captain Kangaroo said "Knowledge is power." Even Mr. Rogers would have been a better worse guess. I guess the Captain said that in between talking to Mr. Green Jeans and Bunny Rabbit. When Jahmar said he tore up the contract, I was waiting for him to say "Psych!" like the person did last episode. But no, he really did. And I did not miss the TONE OF VOICE when uncle said, "We could have brought MORE THAN A MILLION DOLLARS back." Harsh, dude. Then he softened up to tell nephew how much he loved him because, after all, he was on camera. But I'll bet the ride home was an interesting one.
  6. This week's winner has taken over the title of Most Consistent Player now that Clanstarling has given up the title. (Translation: Ruined her streak.) And the honor of being Week 37's Favorite Player is none other than @peeayebee, who has gone true and steady by scoring the same total for four weeks straight. Long may you rule, my friend!
  7. WEEK 37 • June 1 — ONE asterisk * 181. European History. Once Europe’s leading military power & later the largest state in Germany, it was abolished by the Allies in 1947. 182. American Firsts. John Ledyard, sailing on Captain Cook’s last voyage in search of the NW Passage, was the 1st American to land at what are now these 2 states. 183. European Landmarks. As described in an 1831 book, it has “three recessed and pointed doorways…immense central rose window…two dark and massive towers.” * 184. Notable Brits. On this man’s death in a 1935 motorcycle accident, Churchill said, his “pace of life was faster & more intense than the ordinary.” * 185. 18th Century Novels. The title character of this 1726 novel reaches 4 different lands as a result of a shipwreck, a storm at sea, pirates & a mutiny.
  8. While I wasn't paying all that much attention and read it as "And My Ass." All the suggested titles work IMO. I couldn't get back into this show when it returned, it's just too off the rails, but I read here to keep up with things, and because you posters are so hilarious and fun to read. This episode though, sounds so whack that it might be worth watching just for the mind-altering experience.
  9. I know it's Jokey Jokey Thursday, but there is nothing funny about today or this week where I live. So JJT is on sabbatical until I can find something, anything, to smile about. Meanwhile, be careful everyone.
  10. Kudos to everyone for doing well in Week 36. Two winners share the spotlight this week, for having mirror images of their last four scores. Those players are @Fex and @opus. Saber likes patterns whether they be argyle or numerical. Honorable mention goes to last week's winner @Clanstarling for being consistently consistent for the fourth consecutive week.
  11. If the show got rid of "goosies" and Derek mugging and "dancing" in his chair (and pimping on JLo), it would make watching so much more enjoyable. So far, Ne-Yo is the only not-annoying judge. I really liked Oxygen, and the tango duo and the ballet couple.
  12. I caught this rerun over the weekend; it was new to me. The Boho vans ... that segment had to be heavily edited or else all the sharks are totally oblivious to the fact that camper vans have existed for decades. Yes, the pine wood was pretty, but otherwise they were no different than any conversion van anywhere. I got a laugh out of the shower head being out the back door, no problem taking a shower while standing in mud somewhere. The biggest problem, as noted above, is you can't stand up in the thing. I've camped plenty in a Ford Econoline van. Try changing your clothes without standing up, getting dressed while laying on the bed. You'd really love that, Lori and Barbara, getting into skirts and panty hose while flopping around on a mattress because you can't stand up. I'd skip the pretty wood paneling for a Turtle Top. And for that price, they sorely need a roll-out canopy. All the other van have them, why not Boho. Does everything Lori eats have to have fiber in it? WTH girl. Buy some Benefiber and get over yourself. I loved the nail holder since I routinely hit my thumb when nailing anything. I use pliers to hold the nail, and I guess I'll continue to do so since the $10 price tag for that little thing that cost you 40 cents to make was a bit steep. Although I should have listened to myself since just yesterday I busted my left thumb open while nailing a fence ... and NOT using my holding pliers. Eh.
  13. I only watched part of this episode since I don't care much about people yelling and jumping around while green or red balls fall down the plinko board. I am entertaining myself by guessing the question when the four answers are shown, and got gin and Paul Newman (salad dressing!). I did not know the red-oak parquet basketball floor, although the Lakers would have been my fourth choice out of four. I guess the guys winning that much money is okay, if they really do use it to help rebuild Puerto Rico and not to buy their relatives (or themselves) a private jet or something. I'd like to see this show do a follow up on all the winners. It seems it's doesn't make any difference if people can answer any questions correctly, they still can go home with some nice cash. And thanks, guy, for answering my question from last week about do men ever jump into Chris's arms.
  14. No Jeopardy here today, just news coverage of protests and curfews. Things are bad here. Chicago radio hosts couldn't make it into work last night, it was too dangerous with the city locked down and the Loop on fire. There are even protests/looting in the smaller towns, and curfews in rural counties. I don't care enough to try to find today's episode. Tomorrow's either. Getting or not getting a TS of FJ doesn't mean anything to me right now.
  15. I used to work with a guy who raised a steer to put in the freezer. Named him Sir Loin. Another friend raises a steer every year for the same purpose and there is no end of names ... T Bone, Rib Eye, Ham Burger and so forth. I currently don't know anyone who names their future ham-and-bacon dinner however. Back OT, I've heard Eminem often (and saw his movie) and know Pit Bull's rap, but the imitator guy ... I was clueless. I couldn't believe the audience went into crazed histrionics as soon as they guy started. But thank you Terry for explaining each of the people he was imitating since they all sounded the same to my ears.
  16. We got Whammied, everything was preempted for protest coverage. Maybe next week.
  17. I would be aggrieved if someone took over my title of Biggest Dumbass.
  18. LOL. Sorry for the bad trip this FJ gave you. I first thought Iowa, because that library is near me. Couldn't think of a second. So I went to Missouri because I've been to that one. Couldn't think of a second. So I went to California because my CEO at the time went to Reagan's funeral. Couldn't think of a second. (Sorry not sorry Dick.) So I gave up. I had a very traumatic experience in Texas some years ago and said I would never ever go back. Never have, never will. Obviously, that applies to mentally as well. Not sorry I missed Texas, for oh so many reasons.
  19. WEEK 36 • May 25 — ONE asterisk * 176. U.S. Geography. Touching Canada at Boundary County, the northern part of this state’s Panhandle has been referred to as “The Chimney.” 177. 20th Century Metaphors. If it had physically existed, it would have stretched some 500 miles from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea. 178. Fairy Tales. A familiar chant in this fairy tale continues, “Be he alive or be he dead, I’ll grind his bones to make my bread.” 179. Word Origins. P.T. Barnum, whose traveling shows carried musicians, coined this word that now represents something growing in popularity. *180. Presidential Libraries & Museums. Of the 15 U.S. Presidential Libraries or Museums, 3 are in this state, more than any other. *
  20. You've obviously been time traveling. I'll check back with you yesterday. I've been time traveling too, having seen before the question of six presidents have had this first name that was on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire last night, and the state with most pres libraries/museums on FJ today. I just leave that time realm before I am given the answers. Or the time-space continuum erases my memory. Yeah, that's the ticket.
  21. The ADHD camera work was toned down from last year, probably because less room for multiple cameras so there was less jumping around. That was a big improvement for me, being able to see (almost) the entire dance without views flipping from close ups to aerials to low shots to back shots to judges' faces and back again. I was less dizzy while watching, always a good thing.
  22. I was irritated with myself because this was a question on some other game show and I totally had forgotten the answer. Gah.
