  1. I bet it's some kind of "survivor's guilt." Or maybe everyone wished away the town next door. Good God, you have no idea how much I'm looking forward to hate-watching this show again!
  2. Here's the season 2 teaser: Getting the feeling S2 will be more of the same in a dustier place. Not even caring that no one in that town disappeared.
  3. Is this show coming back soon? If it's been cancelled I have some great ideas for a reboot.
  4. What angers me about the Symbicort ad posted below is that it seems to imply that grandpa is a murderer. All those breathing problems got in the way of indulging in his Manson-esque pig slaughters. His life was a shell without fulfilling his purpose. Symbicort solved all of that.
  5. What I don't buy about it just being a warm, flat beer is very simple. Why would anyone wait to drink a beer they hated until it was flat AND room temperature?
  6. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that. Thanks for backing me up. The only excuse I'll accept for NOT drinking BLL is that he's a recovering alcoholic who didn't think he really had to risk his sobriety for his show.
  7. Is it just me, or did it look as though the liquid in that Bud Lite Lime bottle was NOT Bud Lite Lime? I'm no expert on shitty beer, but they're usually carbonated, right?
  8. Hannibal's biggest "dick move" of the episode: serving escargot in the shell to a one-armed man.
  9. My significant other and I agreed that the only time the "shirtless with a stethoscope" look is appropriate is if one were performing at a bachelorette party. Then, and only then, are you allowed to do that and preface your performance with "Did somebody say they have the fever?"
  10. I wasn't happy about that either. I think they were inducted as part of the "Early Influences" category and don't get the same tribute as a result. Then again, Ringo gets a performance and was inducted in a special category. Also, Kraftwerk deserved induction more than Stevie Ray Vaughn.
  11. I really did like the show, but I'm still not happy about the double-dipping. Yes, Ringo and Lou Reed are legends. Yes, I love their solo works (especially Reed's). My problem is that they are already IN the HOF. Would it have killed them to allow two acts that have not been honored to get their due [*cough* THE SMITHS *cough*]?
  12. And the first Republican debate is that night on Fox News. Coincidence?
  13. Whenever I see the Elephant Insurance ads, my mind wanders to bad places. -All of his employees seem on edge, worried and paranoid (case in point: "The customers?" Employee looks around and sees her boss is watching, "They mean everything to us!"). -He gets too excited at the mere mention of peanuts. One employee even shakes his head as though to say "You fucked up now." I can't help but imagine that the Elephant went on a peanut rampage sometime in the past and the office was never the same. -He should have his own water supply in his office so his workers don't have to change out those big-ass bottles twenty times a day. -How is he typing? At least give him a giant keyboard to hunt and peck on plausibly.
  14. I watch this show regularly. I'm not a fanatic, but I do watch it enough to feel real bad when something goes very wrong for a competitor. Two harbingers of doom are obviously: -Long training montage and interview. -The whole family, specifically young offspring, showing up. Please list your other favorite ANW harbingers of doom. (I'd also like to say that I'd be very appreciative if ANW stopped showing the crying children of defeated contestants. It's cruel, unnecessary, and I feel really guilty for being amused by it.)
  15. Here's a theory about the blood type controversy: Max had his old license on him. That license had his blood type and also stated he was an organ donor. I think Australia is one of the places that puts blood type on DL's.
  16. I disagree about the lack of hope in the DCCU. We may have only seen the grim side in the trailers, but the hope is in the title "Dawn Of Justice." You know the cliché "It's always darkest before the dawn"? Well, that's what I believe is implied.
  17. And how would Thor react to Das Rheingold (or the whole ring cycle) and fascist neo-pagans that revere mjölnir as their symbol? My guess is that he'd like his depiction in Das Rheingold (Donner gets the big finale), and a bit pissed by the white power pagans.
  18. It wasn't my favorite episode either, but I REALLY liked it. What got me was Louise showing vulnerability. We don't see it very often, and I found it touching.
  19. Will Supergirl show up for crossovers with the CW shows? I know it seems unlikely on account of the networks, but it's still a DC production, right? Isn't Supergirl supposed to be part of the shared DC TV Universe?
  20. I liked last night's show quite a bit. One thing that needs clarifying is the bit about San Francisco. Of all the cities I've lived in in this country, SF was the most openly, and most aggressively bigoted. There is a great bit of tolerance on the surface, but everybody hates everybody for some reason or another. Savannah, GA was more tolerant and accepting than SF.
  21. I would have found the "thug" montage more honest if it included Larry's use of the word from Tuesday night. (And on that note, yes I do realize that I wrote a post about not wanting to keep complaining about this show a couple of days ago.)
  22. The show is still great, but it's truly difficult to top the genius of the Edward Snowden episode.
  23. Thanks to the other posters who have expressed views similar to mine in the past few days (you know who you are). I just don't have the will to complain about this show anymore without seeming obsessed with it. I want Larry Wilmore to succeed, I just feel let down by this show.
