  1. Oh, no! I just discovered and binged the series on Max the other day but didn't know until reading the forum that season 3 will be the last. I'll have to savor the last few episodes as they are released on Max. I'm gong to miss these characters.
  2. I didn't know there was a dedicated forum to this franchise so I'm copying this from my post under International in the LIB USA forum. Sweden has been interesting! Better than some of the USA seasons. Lots of meat on this bone. Cristofer may be a nice guy but I can see where the flowery language and constant touching could be OTT for a lot of people. Her stone faced, silent stares would be hard to take for a lot of people as well. It was clear from the start that he and Catja were not a good match. She seemed off him from the moment she saw him and he some heavy duty love blinders on. I wasn't crazy about Rasmus at the start but I've turned around on that. He seems to be normal and well adjusted. His whole attitude and outlook in regard to his dog was kind of great and that dog was adorable. Krisse-ly seems a bit high-strung and at this point I'm not sure I'd like to see him end up with her. Sergio and Amanda make no sense together at all. I have to ask, what the hell is up with his hair? I have to know if he cuts it himself because I can't believe that is the result of any kind of professional styling. Emilia and Lucas seem woefully mismatched too. He seems to not be very much into her at all. I thought Meira and Oskar were doomed at first. She didn't seem comfortable at all after meeting him in person but now they appear to the couple with the best chance of pulling this off. The thing I found most surprising is how this bunch overall seemed to be more cautious in regard to approaching initial sex in comparison to other casts.

  4. I see that not so much a put down about having less as much as a put down about putting on a facade about having more. I get the businesswomen jibe also as pointing out they are actually otherwise employed to provide for their families and not just doing what appears to be some half-assed side hustle taking less attention than scheming and plotting to become TV famous. I'm not a huge Angie fan but I get why she said that and I don't think it has anything do with Monica's lack of wealth.
  5. Monica was like a trapped and vicious animal looking for anyway out. When she misheard (if it actually was misheard) Angie's comment about her being low-brow like it was a racial slur she jumped on it like the last plane out of a war zone. Even when corrected it looked like her wheels were still turning on how to possibly make it work for her. I was happy to see her attempts to make it seem the others would not accept her due to her financial status also prove unsuccessful. She's too much, like Jen was too much. Lots of similarities between those two. They both added something to the show but not the type of something that should go beyond one season.
  6. You mean the ones that match his mother's outfit like a prom couple?
  7. I think it got confusing because Lisa's initial reply to Andy's question about Jack being in California was something sarcastic about him bouncing from Columbia and now surfing in California. She then said his departure was delayed because he sent in a shirtless photo for his visa which was rejected and he had to redo his paperwork. I'll believe it when I see photos of him trotting through the streets of Bogota wearing his mission attire and backpack.
  8. I was listening to a podcast yesterday (AllaboutTRH, I think) and there was mention of Linda saying she was somehow involved, or trying to get involved in television news, but that could mean anything from behind the scenes to in front of the cameras. I'd have to see the HR and income tax statements before I would believe it. If I remember correctly, aside from the church involvement the grandmother had several different businesses which are still active and managed by the husband/step-grandfather. Bravo clearly likes to have at least one sideshow attraction on most RH franchises. More outrageous and comic relief than villain material. People like Ramona on NY, Sutton on BH, Danielle C. on NJ, etc. All a bit "one of these things is not like the others" skewed in various ways. Mary is it for SLC. What I don't get with the SLC cast is the charade that Mary is anything other than someone to be laughed at. Not one of them takes the opportunity to really put her in her well deserved place after her outrageous statements. My best guess is that they are afraid of being labeled as racist and that Mary knows that too and also uses it to her advantage.
  9. I can't decide which acting was worse, Whitney and Heather about the book or the OG's vs. Monica. It all seems manufactured for drama. My biggest eye rolling moments came from: Whitney "waking up" in and removing her eye mask to reveal full and unsmudged eye make-up. Watching Meredith trot along in her ridiculously too long and too wide-legged pants. Heather portraying the OG's as a group of close friends...🙄
  10. I have gone through that same nail drama. I'm not a baby when it comes to pain, but I have to say that touched on some kind of super delicate nerve in my case because it was incredibly painful when the hanging nail was touched/moved in the slightest way.
  11. I finally had a chance to get up to date on this season and was not disappointed. The OG RHoNY needs to return in some way on a regular basis. I'm even glad Kelly is back strictly to underline the fact that what we saw back on Scary Island is probably who she actually is. Most of the rest seem to be in for having a good time along with collecting their Bravo check. The only one who seems to be treating it like a job with less joy is Sonja but that's likely due to her really needing that money and her little nudie shows and hot tub shenanigans, etc. seem staged toward that end. Next BravoCon they need to have her and Teresa Giudice walk down a flight of stairs side-by-side.
  12. Great casting and a good season overall. Did not miss having any teams with prior notoriety related to sports, social media, reality tv, etc. This season was like the good old days. Happy for the winners and sad for the runners up. They all deserved it but only one can grab it.
  13. I think this might be the first season I don't have a team to root for 100%...because I think all of them are great in their own ways. I'm going to be happy for the winner but sad for the losers. I'm grateful that none of the final teams were desperation runners like some in the past who came across as seeming they felt they should win based solely upon financial need...the teams decades too late for Queen for a Day. I've always enjoyed the teams who see value in the opportunity to participate and appreciate the opportunity to see a variety of countries and do a bunch of creative activities along the way...the teams who really enjoy themselves and sharing adventures with each other. Good season TAR!
  14. Oooh, oooh, can I play too? How about Angie again letting us know she's Greek...enough already! This week she was packing a Greek flag bikini and talking about representing.
  15. I'd give a pass on the career aspect as being part of production's packaging, not an outright lie but not entirely accurate. I can't overlook things like actual dating and coming in heavy on texts within a couple of months of the death of his wife of 43 years. The other little tidbits in addition to the weight issue about the live-in girlfriend having to pay up front for her cost of a meal so that he could look like he was paying for all at a restaurant, forcing her into a hotel for her last two weeks and treatment after she fell and injured herself make him look like s scumbag.
  16. I'm on my second rewatch. First was a few years ago. I can't believe how many times I have laughed out loud. This show holds up so well! One thing I only now noticed is the slight animated change to the title card graphics each episode. I don't remember that from watching when it first aired and I think my first rewatch was probably on Netflix where I could avoid the opening intros. I'll go back to the new episodes after I finish this rewatch because the original is just so damn good!
  17. Pretty sure she's British with parents of Indian decent who came from somewhere in Africa. Ubah though came to Canada from Somalia.
  18. https://pagesix.com/2023/10/30/entertainment/leah-mcsweeney-filed-discrimination-complaint-against-bravo-after-rhugt/ I hope whomever was responsible for the casting decision that brought her to the Bravo Universe is happy now.
  19. I'm curious about this also. We had a tutor for my son who was a Mormon and I remember her telling me that her brother was in some kind of intensive language program to prepare for his mission somewhere in Asia. She made it sound like it was part of the program so I always assumed it was but perhaps I was wrong. Meredith seems to have been miscast in this franchise. She's got the dramatic that would have fit better in one of the other locations while so many of the rest of the cast seem like they're in Real Housewives of New Jersey, West of the Rockies version. One feeds off of the other and I suspect both of them are loving the cameras and the Bravo paycheck so they're playing it up as well. They both have come in hot, probably hoping to secure a spot on the next season regardless of the cost in humiliation and that makes them both seem rather pathetic. Mom and Dad were already giving him an out telling him he can come back home early, which makes me suspect they are thinking the same thing.
  20. I agree. The thing I take most issue with is that they are sentiments from an earlier age where the woman is a plaything whose success is measured solely by the power and wealth of the man she marries. I'm a helluva lot older than Brynn and that BS was considered demeaning and limiting already when I was very young. She throws Somalia in whenever and wherever as though it's some kind of final word on whatever point she wants to make. I'd like to add: Did you know that Sai grew up poor and mother was an alcoholic who passed away? Did you know that Brynn was brought up by her late grandmother named Mimi who talked a lot of outdated BS? Did you know Erin and her husband have sex...a lot of sex...they need that sex? I think this sums it up pretty well.
  21. Then I'd say Ubah is the Kelly. Apparently the much referred to Mimi had a big hand in making her that way. I can't be the only one who is less than impressed with Mimi's pearls of wisdom despite Brynn's attempts to make them seem charming. Did you notice when Jenna was talking about girl friend groups toward the end and how she would try to join in in the future she said something like "a group" and not "this group"?
  22. The eldest too I think, yet she looks better than any of the rest insofar as actual age compared to how old they look. That woman needs to do a health and beauty blog or write a book...she could pass for around 50 with no problem.
  23. Please spare us an entire season of "poor Kyle". Dorit looks like the ultimate fashion victim decked out as a living advertisement during her confessionals. The best thing I have to say about the opening episode is that I'm glad Lisa isn't part of the cast this season. Woo-woo is still woo-woo, regardless.
  24. Erin must have been dizzy with all the spinning she did to defend herself from anything negative being said about her. I've said it before and I will again...she fits right into the Housewife playbook and was a good casting choice. It seemed to me like Ubah thought she didn't get enough attention during the weekly episodes and decided to make up for it by going into attack mode during the reunion. I only find her annoying and useless as a cast member. Sure, she's full of herself, but not in an entertaining fashion...and that is what sets a good Housewife apart from the dispensable. Brynn sat there looking like a child playing dress up out of Kate Smith's closet. I find her as dispensable as Ubah. Sai, Jenna, Jessel...meh. Stay, go...don't much care either way at this point. Jenna does her best to stay out of the sniping but the rest of the cast is ready to throw one another under the bus whenever and whatever. Not an iota of loyalty amongst them. Friend Group my ass.
  25. Amen! Those who have been fortunate not to have close people in their lives who are toxic or narcissistic will have a difficult time understanding this and view the scene with Monica and her mother very differently than those with more unfortunate experiences. You and me both! That fact that she is trying to make "LD" happen speaks volumes. That entire scene between Mary and her son was simply weird. Neither acted typical for their role or age in their demeanor or what was being said.
