  1. Thank you for posting this photo showing just how poorly this garment fits the person who is a fashion influencer. She had to see how the chest fits...why on earth did she decide to wear this for the interviews?!?!?
  2. I have never wished for a kid to fall victim on any show until this one. Wasn't it enough for Aneesha to have been saddled with her waste of a husband? Now Aneesha says something like "they took your father" to Luke. Don't tell me Ahmed is due back this season...please! I truly enjoy sci-fi, but somehow this and War of the Worlds (also due back for yet another season) have somehow landed at the top of my hate watch pile...yet somehow I can't stop watching.
  3. I watched this with the sub-titles because of noise nearby and when Erin went up to Meredith at the party she addressed Brooks as Eddie???
  4. I have a given name that perplexes English only speaking people, even after they ask me to repeat it and make several sincere attempts to pronounce it properly. I gave myself a similar but more easy to pronounce nickname decades ago and made everyone's life easier. It's not that big a deal. People have trouble recreating sounds outside of the languages they are familiar with. I honestly have trouble pronouncing foreign names originating in a different language also. The only time I felt bad about my name was when I was never able to find it on one of those souvenir items in a gift shop when I was a kid. I completely agree. She is attractive, statuesque, and wears clothes well...that's about it.
  5. I think it is really time for a change of judges. Perhaps keep Nina but hopefully add some individuals who can truly judge the finished products alone and not the life stories mixed up with social issues and bullshit descriptors. Korto is a crankypants but there is no way that her look in this challenge was more deserving of a dismissal than that complete and utter mess Bishme sent down the runway.
  6. Sai is a fashion influencer, right? So why that blue dress with the white top stitching in her talking heads...the one with the empty, puckered breast cups? Then Jessel with that red dress with a a fabric tumor at the top where the flesh in front of her armpit is spilling over the top...she's also has a career in fashion, right?
  7. I'm going to stick with it for awhile but I'm not completely on board yet. I'm okay so far with Erin and Jenna but the others veer toward turning me off. I have a real problem with people who make a big deal about their humble beginnings but then go on to act as though they cannot subsist on anything other than rarified air. This crew wouldn't have fit in well with the core OG's although I think some of the past cast like Jules would have been a better match here. Even Eboni. That's how it is coming across to me also. Not sure if that is all her or production or both. Regardless of her background the person being filmed now is annoying and seems in constant need of attention. I have to wonder how how many of her cast mates would actually have a relationship with her if not for this show.
  8. It wasn't designed to look good on someone over an A cup whose breasts ride low. Jenna and Erin are on a different plain than the other four who are indeed deserving of that adjective.
  9. I knew it reminded me of something. It looked like one of those early sci-fi outfits a character in a show would wear while off-duty and lounging in their personal quarters. For the purpose of this show it was absolutely ridiculous...but I am hard-pressed to decide if it was worse than that lampshade Anna had on her head. Aren't we all relieved to know that she intends to make "fashion" her main purpose in life? Why now all of sudden have the judges decided to call out Kara Saun for designing costumes while that has been ignored most other challenges when it was also true? Also negativity toward Laurence who has been mostly praised. Are we beginning to see the planting of seeds toward whoever at this point is the intended winner? Whatever, at least the judging seemed more lucid this week.
  10. I questioned myself for continuing to.watch the past couple of seasons. I tried with this but now I give up. Pure melodrama. God forbid any character is happy because that must quickly be remedied. I stopped watching Call the Midwife for the same reason.
  11. Hell, no, I am right there with you!
  12. I'm gong to add that her bias seems to not be based on fashion either. But as has been pointed to repeatedly in this forum, the judging overall has become ridiculous. This week one of them praised the outstanding fit of one of the skirts (Bishme's??) while the camera clearly showed that was the worst part of the design. It did not fit properly at all. It was hiked up and bunched in the back at the waist. Yea, I was so confused by everyone acting like they'd never heard of tie dye before. Don't even have to go back that far. Even my kids both did tie-dye projects during summer activities at camps and even the library and there's a decade between them. It's not exactly a forgotten art. This show has become an exercise in gaslighting.
  13. I agree, but my caveat is that they all actually can walk instead of lumbering along like some of them have been doing. Remember when a model's ability to walk well was one of the reasons they were chosen for runway work, when. a model could really sell a look? Like Mimi. Even Laurence's model this week played a part in her getting the win. Imagine that gown on the same model if she wasn't able to glide and present it in the best way possible. The models in this season and several of the recent past have put a lot of designers at a disadvantage.
  14. On this topic...what better way to honor a horrendous race based massacre than a sheer pseudo flapper dress over a pair of baggy granny panties... I was so happy when Brandon actually said something about the fabric being better than the design. It wasn't the first time that has been the case with something Korto has made. Agreed, but you know who I think really should have joined them in the bottom? Anna. I'd like to see a week where they have to get their fabric in the Joann or Hobby Lobby quilt cotton aisle with only the notions available to them there and the direction to make something something couture for truly plus size models in the 22-26 size range. The melt downs would be epic!
  15. I really wish they had written Miranda to go off into the Hollywood sunset permanently at the end of the first season and then in this season just show her interacting with Carrie and Charlotte delivering a quip or two each episode by phone. Actually, perhaps they should have killed off this character instead of Big because...never mind, in a way they actually did because this pratfalling Miranda bears little resemblance to the SATC Miranda. I also wish they hadn't hooked her up with Che because Che is far more likable with any other character.
  16. When they showed the pre-scene of the judges saying something looked like a Halloween costume I felt sure they had to be referring to the Red Team because that particular orange and green screamed Halloween into Thanksgiving at Hobby Lobby. Now, if they had chosen neon colors it would have been more appropriate to the era. Not just you. I look forward to the day designing for a fuller figure means more than simply making an outfit large enough to fit a body instead of designing a something that actually flatters and looks good. Again this week the judges managed to get it right in terms of winning and losing but rest of what they had to say was nonsense for the most part.
  17. And that falls squarely upon the showrunner and writers putting an emphasis on social issues alone above storyline instead of artfully melding them together.
  18. This, this, this! Her whole schtick is sad and tired at this point. Still with what appears to be interns too! I simply don't get the "oh, she's so fun and wacky" feeling in regard to her.
  19. I also only watched it once but your memory agrees with mine. I always enjoyed Tim up until that show but he came off so incredibly bad that I haven't been able to view him favorably since. Anya and Mondo really awful also.
  20. The desire to become all inclusive, particularly in regard to gender and size, is all fine and good but the honest truth is that not everything looks good on everyone. This is where design really needs to come to play. The designer should be translating their vision to best flatter the wearer because the clothes are going to be worn by people, not hangers. The contestants know their models in advance so they have an opportunity to do that...but they don't always. Prajje's (I think he was the one with the draped jumpsuit?) design this episode suffered a lot from being on that particular model also. This one always looks like a pre-schooler obsessed with putting on everything they find in dress up box in the classroom at the same time. They completely lost me when complaining about the fabric they were forced to use when it was clearly a matter of poor design. It certainly seems that way. At least they got the winner and loser right. What is wrong with her! She is one of the worst decisions this show has made. I wish Nina would talk about her taste level.
  21. Unfortunately accurate. I think I would have enjoyed the series more with less Ridley and more Farman...and none of the main characters singing.
  22. https://www.allabouttrh.com/2023/07/06/exclusive-everyone-returning-fo/ If true, I predict Margaret is going to become the acknowledged baddie and blamed for a bunch of issues.
  23. Brittany and Anna's dress, particularly Anna's bottom portion, looked like Disney Princess wilted after a long day of duties in the Walt Disney World Florida heat and humidity. The end of the train even looked like it has been chewed up by dragging on asphalt. In comparison to all of the other's, Anna deserved the boot for this one. Kara Saun delivered a 60's or 70's cheap sci-fi idea of future fashion...like something drawn for Judy Jetson. She continues to be too highly rated just like I thought she was in season one. Close second to Anna in the deserving to go category. Laurence's cape looked well made but it was definitely in the costume realm and in no way contrasted well with that monstrosity beneath it. Prajjé's dress was kind of a mess. It bunched up really bad in the upper thigh area while walking too. A safe look at best. What helped it here was Korto's really stunning robe which was great in most part due to a wise fabric/color choice more than design. Hester and Fabio...meh. The top looked nice. The bottom was also a throwback to a bygone fashion day and far from groundbreaking. The fabric was not good. The train looked like a piece of cardboard being dragged down the runway. Wrapping it in a social issue doesn't do anything toward making it a stellar piece of fashion. Kayne and Viktor had an actual wearable look. Was it costumey? Aren't all gowns somewhat costumey these days? Weren't the Korto/Prajjé, Laurence/Kara Saun and Anna/Brittany designs also costumey? At least it made sense and was well constructed. Viktor was done dirty with that dismissal. There were at least two designers more deserving of leaving this week. Rami and Bishme were robbed! Their gown satisfied the challenge better than any of the others. It was a lovely finished product in design, fabric, and execution. Wes Gordon saw it and he has actual successful experience in dressing celebrities (who are the modern day royals).
  24. In comparison to what time that they did come off well? Still trying to figure out why TPTB decided to double down on the Che character after the negative response from the first season. Carrie was allowed to remain Carrie, but Charlotte became a caricature and Miranda apparently suffered some kind of neurological incident which permanently altered her personality. Nicole Ari Parker is gorgeous! Lisa and Seema are the best things to come out of the reboot.
  25. I thought it was from the money he had borrowed from Uncle Jimmy.
