  1. From what I read about the "writing son" aka Lawrence Durrell he was a believer in "free love" (lots of women in his life). Four wives. Very gifted and important writer. Obviously he has only gotten to the "free love" part of all of this on this show.
  2. I will be curious to see how these ratings hold up for the next episode and the coming weeks.
  3. Why wouldn't Mike get a lot of air time? He is one of the main characters. Not that it matters since I doubt this show will be picked up and get to continue.
  4. I don't think it would have made much difference had Francis been able to swim. There was nothing really to hold on to and that water in the mine was very cold and hypothermia inducing. Rotten luck and very sad for us in the audience who grew to love the character.
  5. The actor playing Glenn is too classy for this dreadful show. Hopefully he won't be out of work long. Hardwicke seemed less rah-rah than usual in trying to sell this dreck.
  6. Oh, Francis, I'll miss you so. Between The Walking Dead being absolutely atrocious tonight and sweet Francis dying this has not been a good night of TV for me. Dwight and Caroline kissing was lovely.
  7. Bleh. Thankfully there are other viewing options Sunday nights. I gave up on OUTLANDER because of torture porn and now it's bye-bye this show.
  8. I really don't care for Negan at all. I find him tiresome and juvenile. I suspect the producers have a big hard-on for him - which leaves me pretty much screwed as a viewer.
  9. OMG, what has happened to Tosh? That was a very ominous ending. It's going to take a lot of willpower for me not to spoil myself until next Thursday. I am glad the young detective who got hit over the head seems to be okay. I know this actor from "Luther" where he was excellent as a very bad guy. This show is so tense.
  10. I really like Caroline, sure she is flighty but she is showing the first tiny seeds of a social conscience. Plus her baroque hair do is awesome - birds could nest in that. The guy who plays George is also Freddie on THE BLANDINGS. It's bizarre watching the two performances side by side. I do think the actor is better suited to comedy.
  11. It's Putin on his horse, looking like a romance hero, the Trumpster can't resist that. Hey, it's as good an explanation as any...
  12. I am still watching - though mainly for somebody (hey, Ralphie, do something useful!) to kill Alice' awful husband.
  13. I like the animal loving youngest boy. I don't have much use for Larry aka the later famous author Lawrence Durrell (quite a piece of work in real life from what I read), and the gun crazy son and the teen daughter come across as annoying caricatures in both this and the older adaptation. Pity Mum can't ditch them all for her own sanity. But for my own entertainment this is fun to watch. Since I don't have to live with these brats I just chuckle and roll my eyes at them.
  14. I thought they aren't robots at all, but androids. You can tell by looking at a robot that it is a robot. Nobody would ever mistake a robot for a human being. But you can easily mistake an android - like these are - for a human being.
  15. One of Keely Hawes first major roles was as the female lead in a wonderful adaptation of Dickens' "Our Mutual Friend". That was the first time I ever saw her. I bet the actors had a wonderful time filming this on location.
  16. This is all too convoluted, and slow moving for me. My only real interest is in Dolores hopefully soon starting to get revenge on her tormentors. All of the human characters can die for all I care. I have zero sympathy or attachment to any of them. Maybe everybody is dead already and Westworld is Purgatory, ha, ha.
  17. I wish I could run off to Corfu at the moment. I like it, the ever luminous Keely Hawes is terrific as the mother and I love little Gerry and his passion for animals.
  18. I sure hope the FBI keeps a list of genuinely scary people like this. There is a difference between the right to freedom of speech and inciting violence. This is frightening.
  19. Out of curiosity I watched the older adaptation, a movie with a young Matthew Goode and Russell Tovey as Lawrence Durrell and the gun-crazy Durrell boy respectively - it was okay, a bit too broadly funny for my taste. This new version looks more attractive to me. I am looking forward to tonight.
  20. I don't get the Cahill hate. She has been perfectly nice and helpful and hasn't been making inappropriate googly eyes at Riggs. I guess it's the actor who rubs people the wrong way - which I don't get either (I am not familiar with her). I agree that Murtaugh should have been grateful to Riggs for trying to help his son out of a pickle, instead of pissy with him. And yes, rolling around in the shower tasering the bad guy was dumb dumb dumb. For all I know former gang detective is shifty as hell - I haven't made up my mind about him. My point was that I don't mind either his look or his acting.
  21. I actually find the former gang member detective interesting and that includes his "look". I don't think everybody on TV needs to be handsome or pretty. IMO there are too many generically pretty faces on American TV, which is bland and boring to me.
  22. I liked Cam and Joe dancing to the Pixies, that really showcased the connection they have. I also liked the scene with Gordon and his daughter when in the morning he was struggling up the stairs and she saw his struggle and helped him up the stairs. We had seen her as this horrid brat just before, and now we got to see the loving daughter. Just like in real life, people are never just one thing on Halt.
  23. It looked to me like Cam had slightly softened towards Donna - or maybe it was just the desire for the project overruling her negative feelings - before Donna threw Joe under the bus. It was bad timing for Donna in a way as she couldn't know that Cam's feelings for Joe had changed in a significant way. IMO, Cam and Donna are both flawed. Cam has annoyed me plenty when she behaved like an obnoxious teen in the past. And Donna is no angel, she is totally ruthless when it suits her and when she wants something.
  24. Very happy with these final two episodes of the season. I would feel sorry for Cam's husband if he wasn't so narrow-minded and .....small-minded. Obviously he has good reason to be jealous of Joe. But he and Cam have no chemistry while Cam and Joe always have had terrific chemistry. They couldn't be together for a variety of reasons, like Cam's immaturity and Joe's unwillingness or inability to join the human race. But she is all grown-up now and he is willing to be vulnerable. And I think they have a shot at something real. So glad this show will get another season to go out on its own terms.
