  1. How old is Cameron supposed to be? Because maturity wise she is acting more like Donna's rebellious teen daughter than her business partner.
  2. I missed the doctor phone call Joe got - what's the consensus - positive or negative? I thought Joe's kinda crazy smile could indicate either way.
  3. Aafrin and Alice never had any chemistry but her long missing husband gives me a seriously creepy vibe. And that thing he did to her with the drink was abusive. She had left him and he turned up like a bad penny. Darling Ralphie should focus his attention on that creep.
  4. I watched it - it was good, well worth watching. Nowadays of course you couldn't keep something like this secret.
  5. It makes me sad how MSNBC - and CNN too - are enabling Trump and his minions with all this hysterical coverage of Clinton's "health issues" and now Woe, Woe, Woe! PNEUMONIA. It would be laughable if I wasn't so scared that this may help to get Trump elected.
  6. I'll be watching, hoping for a proper conclusion at the end. Or at the very least - no cliffhanger. Since there won't be a third season.
  7. IMO this show just isn't interesting enough to merit an after show. It all seems so forced. Did BREAKING BAD have an after show? Now that one certainly would have been fascinating.
  8. Nods. I really only love the first movie and the too soon canceled TV series. None of the other movies grab me at all and some are pretty crappy.
  9. The best thing Donna and Gordon can do for their kids and themselves at this point is to divorce. Every season of this show Lee Pace has been playing Joe as a different kind of ASSHOLE. First, it was the charismatic asshole, than the manipulative woobie asshole, and now we are on to the Steve Jobs type asshole.
  10. I blame Lochte for his actions in Rio. I have no salacious interest in Lochte and I am not diminishing other athletes by having made one comment up thread about Lochte's actions. And I only responded to your post because I don't think it's fair that everybody posting here gets lumped into the "we" and "us". I did not see the edited part of your post until now - obviously other medal winners should not be questioned and harassed about Lochte.
  11. Personally I do blame Lochte for the mess he is in. I certainly don't blame myself. And somebody up thread mentioned the most recent horrible suicide bombing as an example of why we should not get our collective panties in a twist over Lochte. You can't compare the two. I can find suicide bombings and terrorist attacks abhorrent and awful and still believe that Lochte shouldn't get a pass. Most bad things people do will be less awful than terrorist acts just because the level of awful involved - but that doesn't mean people should be getting away with crimes.
  12. I didn't really know who Lochte was before all of this. But I certainly will remember him now as an American white male who behaved true to "Ugly American" type while a guest in a foreign country, took advantage of certain troubles his host country faces, got his much younger team mates into a world of trouble and then left them holding the bag. Nice!
  13. I don't care about CC anyways. Wilmore's show was the only show I made sure to watch on that channel after the end of the Jon Stewart era. Trevor Noah is okay but if his show gets cancelled tomorrow I'll shrug slightly regretfully and move on. @Midnight is not my cup of tea. There are ways to act with class and take other things than ratings into account. For example, FX has supported THE AMERICANS for years despite low ratings. And AMC's HALT AND CATCH FIRE has about three viewers - one of them being me - and the network has stuck with that show against all odds for three seasons (the third season starts next week). So a TV network doesn't have to be automatically and by default a ratings whore with every project.
  14. Wilmore seems a very likable fellow and he also won my respect - for example he never let up on that raping slime bag Bill Cosby. I wasn't aware of the show's poor ratings, so its cancellation came totally out of the blue for me. I was looking forward to the election coverage.
  15. This sucks, I actually like this show better than The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.
  16. Nods. The killing of Nicky kind of spoiled the movie for me. I watched the other Bourne movies multiple times. I don't feel like re-watching this one at all.
  17. And personally I would feel better about eating the hare that may have died an unexpected and quick death and didn't die in terror and agony like the animals in American slaughter houses. Believe me you don't want to die like the cow who has become the neat and vacuum-packed pieces of ground beef...
  18. This was so enjoyable. I have liked all these people so much and they are all so talented. I wish this show was on every week. There is a special alchemy to this show and there is nothing like it on American TV anywhere.
  19. The funny thing is when I was watching the original series as a teenager in the Eighties (which was years after its first run I guess) I was watching mostly for the women characters - Demelza, who I adored, she was my heroine, Caroline, who I liked a lot. Heck, I never even hated Elizabeth, I pitied her and felt bad for her. The male characters, I just think they are weaker than the female ones. I thought Ross was a self-righteous moron obsessed with honor who didn't realize a good thing when he had it. And his pining for Elizabeth was bizarre to me because they were clearly all wrong for each other. With the new series of course they have cast this hottie as Ross and he has legions of female fans - and that will of course color the way the character is portrayed and perceived.
  20. I have watched this entire season never really liking this family of criminals, I have watched them like you observe fascinating but repellent insects. But it did make me happy to see that J is a lot smarter than I thought, and that he got one over on that cop. I don't expect moral standards from criminals, but I do expect police to meet certain standards - given the power they have over the populace. And black-mailing and using this teenager is not my idea of how police ought to conduct themselves. That being said I am not rooting for Smurf and her "boys" to have a happy ending - and from the way J was looking at Smurf and Co - I don't think he is either. Smurf is holding a snake to her bosom there. I'll be watching the second season.
  21. Did Lawrence speak about this before? The only one who I have heard going after those two douche bags over their horrific hunting habits is Bill Maher. Isn't that vapid Barbie aka Ivanka a hunter too? I am surprised Lawrence doesn't go after her for various things.
  22. Wolf Blitzer has raised being obvious to an Olympic sport, gold medal level. He makes me twitch and mentally go "duh" way too often.
  23. I don't know whether I will be watching the second season. I do like Cassidy and Tulip, and sometimes Jesse. But the finale put into focus for me that this show and its makers have a pretentious nihilistic sensibility (and are cackling gleefully about it) - which I shared for about 5 minutes when I was in college - but I have long since grown out of that.
  24. I didn't care for Rachel last night and I usually like her very much. Whenever somebody starts ranting about the sexual morals of this particular president - where is the outrage over President Kennedy's busy penis? - my eyes roll and then glaze over. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I am European born and unless a politician harasses or rapes a woman or molests minors I can't be arsed to care about their sex lives. The Clintons obviously have an arrangement that works for them and that's their business. What I care about in an elected official is whether they are competent and are doing their job. Bill Clinton was very competent on the job as I recall.
