Well, maybe some of the dumb fuckers who voted for Trump will get scared when they start to contemplate America without the safety net of Medicare and Social Security and Disability coverage. Maybe that will penetrate their tiny brains. I am not holding my breath though.

I haven't watched any news channel since the election was called for the orange menace. Part of the reason being for my physical and mental well-being, but also because CNN and MSNBC supported Trump by giving him all this free airtime and weren't critical enough of him when it counted.

Yes, California can be our Canada on the West Coast. That way we can keep a safer distance from the bible thumpers, gun crazies and neo-fascists who voted for Trump.

What I like about this thread is finding comfort with like-minded shell-shocked folks. Everywhere else I get assaulted by gloating, being ridiculed and rubbing it in. It hurts too much right now. Maybe I gain some perspective in a couple of weeks but I just don't have it now.

It's not petty at all - I will call it poetic justice. I have been getting a lot of "I voted for Trump because I found the ACA unfair and flawed but I am not a racist or a fascist", blah, blah. But for me it is as simple as that, if it walks like a duck and it looks like a duck - most likely it is a duck. So when one votes for a racist and a fascist one is a racist and a fascist - no matter how one rationalizes it.

I am in Ca and some of us were black humor joking today that maybe CA should part from the Union. I am hoping that maybe Ca can get some kind of AC thing going when the ACA goes bye-bye. Grasping at straws here. If I could move anywhere I would choose New Zealand. It is so beautiful there.

I have enjoyed this board to post about TV and media and stuff. But this political section has really been a life saver for me yesterday and today. I would have torn my hair out by now if I hadn't this place to read and post and vent. Thank you guys for all your great posts!

Today I started to cut family out of my life and out of my will who voted for Trump - I know who they are because of their gloating. They are not getting a penny. Their children are not getting a penny either. I have the memory of an elephant and once my good will is gone it's gone for good. Today I ran into an aquaintance who has been pro Trump - I refused to acknowledge her and rather enjoyed her confused and hurt expression. I will not be friends with any Republican or support any of their causes. Today I haven't watched any CNN or MSNBC. I have to take a long hiatus from any political programming. I have a lot of fury in my heart. I feel like one of those knitting women with the cold eyes in A TALE OF TWO CITIES. I know the Democrats have no power but I hope they can find a way to make it as hard for Trump as possible. I am praying that these four years pass quickly and that he does leave after these four years.

I am not watching her speech. I can not bear to watch it. There is no healing for me , or "coming together" and no "gracious" acceptance. I loathe him and everybody who helped to elect him. I will be living in terror and my life just changed in so many ways, big and small. And only for the worse. I am fucking depressed.

Sadly, I don't think it's that easy to immigrate to Canada. From what I understand Canada only wants people with specific skills and occupations. Shakes head at self. I'll be a zombie tomorrow - a very depressed zombie - but I just haven't been able to get to sleep.
