  1. http://ew.com/tv/2016/12/28/vikings-death-all-his-angels-season-4-episode-15/ Fimmel and Hirst about "All His Angels".
  2. JRM was also excellent in a little movie called "Bend it like Beckham". Part of the reason I am excited about the future of "Vikings" is because of JRM.
  3. Nods. I totally understand why they would want to execute Ragnar, but the way they did it..... Of course the Vikings have some really brutal practices themselves, the human sacrifices we saw, the blood eagle thing, etc. I am sure once Ivar really starts in with the torturing of Christians and the killing of innocents I won't be rah, rah about him. But I do loathe Aelle, the actor does an excellent job making me vividly dislike him. Well done, Aelle actor! The thing is that Ragnar has been our protagonist, but not our hero - there is a difference. From the first season watching this show I have been compelled by Ragnar and fascinated by him. But I certainly haven't liked and condoned a lot of what he has done. There is nothing heroic about robbing monasteries and murdering and kidnapping a bunch of defenseless monks for example.
  4. I saw these posted there, but there is no source so they could be foilers. One thing is wrong for sure - according to Hirst and Clive Standen Rollo will be in parts of season 5. Not happy about Helga dying. Though hoping that the Astrid death is true.
  5. Oh, how awesome. By the time Ragnar fell into the pit I was cringing so much I missed this detail.
  6. I want the History Channel to do a show about the age of piracy and hire Travis Fimmel to play the lead.
  7. Jonathan Rhys Meyers was the star of Vikings producer Hirst's prior series "The Tudors", he played Henry VIII. We don't exactly know who he'll play on Vikings but Hirst said
  8. I was under the impression that they were having sex ever since Letty called Javier and asked him to come get her. There was that kiss Letty initiated and they had been traveling together and sharing bed rooms. However, I think the sex stopped after the dinner party from hell drove Javier into a depressive funk, and making love in her mother's house was them re-connecting more intimately than ever. Until the writers say otherwise that would be my guess.
  9. Ragnar remained such a contradictory man to the end. He played Ecbert and set him up for brutal revenge by his sons, especially Ivar. But he also did him a great kindness by telling him that Athelstan had chosen the Christian Faith - knowing that would mean a lot to Ecbert. And he gave Athelstan's cross to Alfred, that was a very touching moment. The game between Ivar and Alfred was interesting too, considering
  10. Fuck, that was brutal. Looking at Aelle's smug face remember Travis Fimmel, all the best to him. If they wanted to prime us for Ivar to reign hell on England, they have succeeded.
  11. No Christian for the second episode in a row. This particular time bomb to explode in the season finale? I think the the bird was probably injured, how else was Javier able to touch it in the first place. I don't know what it says about me but the killing of the bird upset me more than any of Javier's human killings. Which is kind of silly considering lots of chickens get killed every day in this manner, and then we eat them.
  12. I kinda really like Rob, he of the fake penis. Even Estelle I am fond of now. Those were the perfect wedding vows for them. And Kyle and Tiffany, I hope these crazy kids can learn to deal with Kyle's bi-sexuality (I am assuming). I ate all the Javier/Letty stuff up with a big shipper spoon. It's amazing how much I love this bird killer/hitman and him and Letty together. I didn't take to Sean at all - the role he played in Letty's life doesn't inspire confidence( for all his claims to have changed) and that was a shitty thing to do to crash the wedding and manipulate the needy feelings of a young boy, but I don't want him dead. Oh, Letty, don't ask Javier to kill Jacob's father, it's not good for you, it's not good for Javier who's already fucked up enough about the killing in his life, and it's not good for your relationship with Javier.
  13. I wonder if Lagertha is getting make-overs and fountain of youth spa treatments from her personal hair dresser Astrid. She looks so dewy and youthful. Meanwhile Ragnar truly looks like every bone is aching and stiff. He looks like the old king he is. Obviously Fimmel is a better and less vain actor than Winnick but they could be trying a little bit harder with age appropriate make up. It's ironic because Travis Fimmel is actually an ex-model but you would never know it judging him by his performance in Vikings. But when I look at Lagertha in comparison to Ragnar , yikes! it takes me out of the show. And Astrid is even worse, her look is completely wrong for this historical show.
  14. The pity is that Pratt and Lawrence have chemistry and if this had been a romantic comedy there is a good chance I would have enjoyed it. But the whole premise of this movie is awkward and the "twist" makes it unpalatable. Sadly, the way Hollywood works, we'll probably never see those two in a project together again.
  15. I think it's always hard when the famous people you were into/were of your Zeitgeist or of your generation pass, especially if it's too young or too soon because of fucking cancer, heart problems, etc.. Although neither David Bowie or Alan Rickman were actually of my generation ever since I can remember I have thought those two men were special - kind of touched by grace or something. Plus both died when they were the age my parents are now - which scares me on another level. Back in the day Princess Diana's death shocked me very much and my Nana was very sad when Paul Newman passed. Because she had a crush on him.
  16. Could it be that "the trickster to cleave her" is Astrid? Continuing her bad luck with all her lovers? I do think Ivar is the most logical one to kill Lagertha, but I don't see him as a trickster figure.
  17. They didn't have much choice as Travis Fimmel wanted to leave from what I understand. I prefer what's most likely coming next episode to them trying to recast Ragnar. I wouldn't want to see anybody else playing Ragnar.
  18. I interpreted Aethelwulf tossing Magnus out as Aethelwulf showing the boy tough love and trying to save him from worse at court. That was the boy who was with Kwentrith when Aethelwulf had fought so hard to save them from the tower prison in that action set piece earlier on. I am actually not convinced that Magnus isn't Ragnar's son after all. Though beats me what Ragnar was trying to accomplish by denying Magnus.
  19. It worked yesterday, it's disappeared now. Sorry! Try this one: https://www.bustle.com/articles/200458-why-good-behaviors-juan-diego-botto-built-his-character-around-this-weeks-pivotal-episode?utm_content=bufferafb91&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  20. I think Aslaug was killed off now because all of these people of Ragnar's circle and generation - Rollo, Ecbert, Floki, Lagertha are going soon one way or the other. To be replaced by the younger generation of Ragnar's sons, and on the English side by Aethelwolf, Alfred and Magnus. And I am okay with that because the coming historical events are fascinating. Also, all this means that Astrid will hopefully die soon - I am rooting for that big time. Next season this show will look completely different.
  21. What chafes me about the way this went down between Lagertha and Aslaug in the episode that the writing did like a 180 turn that makes no sense. I remember from prior seasons that while Aslaug and Lagertha were never besties they had first learned to co-exist and later to respect one another. I know I didn't hallucinate this. Also, it's very easy to blame Aslaug for the break-up of Ragnar's marriage with Lagertha. Hello, Ragnar didn't just accidently fall onto Aslaug's vagina - he chose to be with Aslaug so he could have the sons Lagertha couldn't give him. But Aslaug is the evil hag while Ragnar just made an oopsie. Is the Magnus on this show supposed to be the same character from "The Last Kingdom"? Anybody here watch that show?
  22. It feels somewhat like intentional character assassination to me. Anyways, whatever it is I won't mind much now when Lagertha goes the way all characters eventually go on the show.
  23. The History Channel is not sending out screeners for this episode - we can probably guess why - so all the online reviews will be delayed.
