Me too. As I have to admit I had to rewind to see what his name was. As I didn't remember it. I called nobody was going home as soon as Tasha had to withdraw from this week. As Paul said she struggled with the signature, which meant it is impossible to know what would have happened if she was there. Okay, I know that there is a difference in the UK. But when Paul said "it looks more like a dessert than cake". My American ears went "what?" lol as they are the same thing here, but then I remembered that in the UK Dessert is pudding...

I think it's between him and Tasha right now. They both have been consistently near the top.

Yes, thank you.

Not play there. I don't get why there are games in London. If they are trying to grow a market, I don't see that working. What are they going get their own team?

The only one I remember not likeing (not that I hated him or anything) but found him annoying. Was a guy a few seasons back (can't remember his name). He was kind of arrogant and I was a better baker than him. Like how did he get on the show, he must have known someone in the crew. That being said, as "annoying" as I found him the first time, he thankfully was the first one to go home. And the came back for one of the holiday episodes, and was able to laugh at his inability to bake which was actually funny. Someone one here probably remembers his name? Anyhow as for this season. This is a great group of people. I was glad that Tash won though. Her "plates" looked like real ones. That alone made her be the winner for me. As for the technical, custard to me means a type of ice cream. So I thought it was going to be way harder then it was lol.

I've worked with people that have hearing aids, it maybe because she lost her hearing as a kid (instead of say a infant). She learned to talk first. I also got the impression that she can read lips, so she was able to understand what Prue and Paul were saying at the show stopper, unless the interceptor was off screen? Oh right, I forgot about that. Opps.

I really like this group of people, none of them are annoying which is always nice to see. I was however disappointed that the show spoiled the joke at the beginning. I would have laughed at "Nicki tell me about your beaver" but the intro had to go ruin it :(. Anyhow, I agreed with sending Almos home as he was at the bottom of all the rounds. And I could help but thinking that his Wale, looked like the time I tried to paint one (my friends all made fun of me lol). It's hard having no artistic abilities. To bad it didn't taste good either.

I didn't even realize the "new season" started. I think they should have waiting and just aired reruns. I'm against using old clues, as it takes away from the writers. What stops them from going, well that was easy lets just do this instead. As for Ken Jennings (I assume he's been hosting?) I'm not sure if he is in the writers guild, but you'd think he would be. I was hoping he would support them, as he obviously worked heavily with them either way. I guess he could be pressured as he is also a producer...

I thought it was going to be her husband (the girls father) as it almost seemed like they were setting up that she was a single mother and her daughter was rebelling. But it was due to both of them feeling a loss. As for the first part with them they talked as if he was gone, it was almost in past tense. But then he turns out to still be alive. Which I was surprised about.

I finally got around to see it. I was going to go a few weeks ago but I got Covid :(, so had to wait until I could go again. Anyhow, I heard it was good but wasn't sure if I'd like it. I did. it's cute movie and the cast was good. I laughed at parts, cried at others. It was great to get to see this in the theater before it left. I forgot how much I missed the experience to see a blockbuster in a theater (it's been a while). It was interesting despite the movie being out for a few months it was a pretty packed showing, though it was one of only a few showtimes for Barbie left at this theater. I totally related to America Ferrara's speech. As a thirty something year old girl, I know what it is like to be judged and always feeling like I'm doing something wrong. I had a nice discussion with my mom (who went with me to see it) regarding this. One mild complaint I had was the stuff was with Will Farrell. Most of the movie was more serious (not exactly the right word?) but then he & CEO teams come in and are stupid. Like they can't figure how to jump over the entrance thing and it's cartoony. But it is supposed to be the real world at that point. Overall, I enjoyed this movie and was glad to finally see it.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - General Discussion
blueray replied to Aethera's topic in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
Yesterday my husband and I were watching "Fall of Civilizations" it's a youtube channel (which covers historical empires and their falls). Anyhow we were watching the Carthage episode. Throughout it, it was showing Hamibal (historical figure) . Anyhow I thought the actor looked like Bashir and my husband agreed. So throughout it we were joking that it was Bashir concering Italy. Until the end credits when it showed the casting only to list Alexander Sidig ;). So it just was him. He apparently played him in a movie in the early 2000s. But I guess sometimes you just find actors in unexpected spots. -
The Great American Recipe - General Discussion

I'll put this in spoilers just in case. Also seeing above, so it should have been Kelah. That would have been nice as it seems like that would be a come from behind story. I'm not sure why Leanna was in the final then. -

I was surprised and confused on why Leanna was picked. I don't recall her ever winning and Rell (sp) was toward the top usually and won twice. I thought it would be Rell (the Hawaiian one), Brad and Solma. Though I thought Kela was the most improved. -

I was confused by this too. As I could have sworn I've seen this used on the British Bake off, so not very new. -

I'm a few episodes back just watched episode three. But I'm confused why aren't they sending anyone home? -
I just finally watched this show. Despite hearing about it for a while. I have to confess I'm not sure I've ever seen the Addams family. Like I know what it is but there were clear stuff that went over my head due to this such as her uncle randomly appearing and being very annoying or Thing. Anyhow as for the story itself. It was an entertaining watch but agreeing with above, Wednesday needs to learn how to integrate people. You can't just accuse them, as they aren't going to confess. And she was wrong twice, and due to not waiting for the proof. I honestly was suspicious of Tyler from the beginning. It seemed obvious that he was an outcast. I'm not sure how much was him or the creature. Like he generally seemed scared when Wednesday kidnapped him. So was he innocent but being used? If that's the case he's dad should have told him the truth about his mother, then none of this would have happened. One thing that bothered me about both of the love interests was that they were so pushy and controlling. She made it clear to both of them, that she didn't want a relationship. But then they got offended when she didn't act like she was already in one with them. Also how much time had passed, it didn't seem like she had enough time to have two of them after her. As for the other characters they fit the usual stereo types, Queen Bee who turns out to be a decent, Nerdy best friend who saves the day, etc. As for the teacher that was behind it. So if I understand correctly she faked her death, went back and got a job at the school where she hates the students do to them being "different". Waited around for years for a specific student to come at some point. To use magic to conjure her ancestor to kill them. And didn't see the irony in that. Anyhow some thoughts. I can see why people watched this how. I did know somethings going in, such as Edin's (sp) wolfing out at the climax (though this was also just predictable) and the infamous dance scene.

The Great American Recipe - General Discussion

My husband and I watched this as a relaxing show. I of course compared it right away to the British Bake Off. Even to how they have the contestants walk into the tent Cabin. But I did enjoy the first season anyway. I will say I called from the first episode that Silvia was going to win, without being spoiled at all. I however, do think she was the most talented of the chefs maybe I bought into their hype or just like Mexican food (which I do). Foo being a close second. So I do think the right people were eliminated when they were. However, one thing that bothered me in the finale was they showed each time Silvia get "star baker" but not Foo (who I feel like won just as often). And I agree that they need more directions on what they can make as it was to whatever you feel like. Which makes it hard to compare them fairly. My favorite was when they switched recipe though they were still allowed to do what they wanted. And the judges were annoying. Especially Leah. I don't care about your opinion on how they should improve their grandparents recipe. Like seriously some of these were passed down and a lot to them were personal and she just says oh that's "cute" this how I will make it better. Anyhow, I enjoyed it overall. Off to season 2. -
I enjoyed this series for the most part. As always the TV one is my favorite. Though I think they should have put in movies as well. The rise of the MCU would have been worth discussing, as it lasted the whole decade. As for the last episode, it seemed like they were going at it as lets cover the year 2020. Which is such a complex year, that it did need it's own episode. And the way they are doing it, it would fall in the past decade (not this one). However at the end there they went into 2021. I was watching this with my husband, we came to the conclusion that they had to do this (despite being this decade). If they didn't, they couldn't talk about the election results, Jan 6 and arresting the cop (that killed George Floyd). And they would have to wait 7+ years to cover it. I loved how they covered the TV shows slightly in this one as well, as I remember Stephen Cobert in the bathtub as it was a product of it's time. And of course ending it with John Oliver's FU 2020 clip made me smile :).

I just finished watching the whole thing. I never read the book. So had no idea what happens or if it was a close adaptation. Anyhow I enjoyed it a lot. Are they making a 4th season? Anyhow I was wondering if anyone else thought Tristan was just British Tom Paris (Star trek Voyager). He is a kind a screw up but a likable one, a ladies guy but you know he is going to find "the one" eventually. I think that the bartenders husband will die and he'll end up with her.

One is the Loneliest Number: Unpopular GG Opinions
blueray replied to mstaken's topic in Gilmore Girls
The other thing I'm pretty sure I've said before. I wish they had set up that Lane works at Carole King's character's music shop and that end she retires and leaves Lane the store. As she's been such a supporter of the store since before day one and she see's Lane's passion for music. It would have been a way better fit for the characters career. That being said the one thing the revival did get right is that Lane is happy married to Zach still with a loving (but quirky) family. -

I feel like that's a common opinion. At least I agree with it. I didn't like the A year in a life. As most of the stories were done poorly or worse insulting. And then there were some character things that I didn't like. I didn't like that Lane worked for her mother (it just doesn't fit with the character) and I don't see any universe where Paris didn't become a Lawyer (maybe with a medical background). But the career she was in didn't fit the character at all. But not nearly as disappointing as Lanes was. -
I'm okay with this. If she wants to support the writers good for her. As for Ken, he's not in any guild as he's not an actor or a writer. All the clues are already written, he's just hosting. So he's not crossing any picket lines.

^ thank you. I had the same question as above. I was watching Jeopardy yesterday and they were advertising it. And to me anyway it was like "you can now watch this show on... awewwu" . Basically the channel name was intelligible and I was like Hulu?. I knew it wasn't netflix which where I watch the British version.

My pitch would be to have the kids have nothing to with the OG characters other then living in the Wizarding world. So no curse child lol. At least not the main characters. I've been watching All Creatures great & Small and Matthew Lewis is in a few episodes. So he's still acting. So he could then reprise his role as Professor Longbottom (if he was willing). And some of the other teachers could reprise their roles too. But having new characters would allow this to be guest star appearances or recurring roles.
