  1. I was shocked when that was a category then of course Ukraine was one of the answers (so was Georgia). Both are countries that have been attacked by Russia. I didn't notice the date appearing anywhere, so I was thinking that they should have done something. And yes, having Ken film a clip would have been nice.
  2. I loved the part when the one contestant was like 'this maybe stupid" and Ken responded that "it wasn't stupid, it's correct" . Great come back. I did well in the geography like category. And got most of the final episodes, but the 200 one. I should have guest Cheer's but for some reason I thought it ended earlier the 1993. And FJ, I was like the guy from Gone of the wind ;).
  3. The real reason is that Amanda Tapping had a baby and was not going to be in the show for a few episodes. Now they could (and probably should have) kept her in charge of Sg-1 just be off for some reason. But they wanted to have Mitchell reunite the team, which wouldn't work if her, Daniel & Teal'c didn't move on to different things. That being said they should have had her retake "command" when choosing to return. They do after a few years promote her to lead Atlantis for a year then her own ship.
  4. I also like Ben Bowder though he basically plays the same character as Farscape ;). Sam wasn't in command because she left to do another project then came back.
  5. Ellieen is 18 I'm pretty sure. She is going to Stanford next year. So she's an adult and can make her own choices. Also I think it was freestyle skiing that I was watching yesterday. I was really happy for the 36 year old to win silver. According to announcers he was the oldest skier to ever win a medal in skiing.
  6. I'm disappointed about Dylan O'Brien not coming back. But after hearing what they supposedly did to Arden Cho. It kind of tainted my hopes for this movie.
  7. I was going the correct direction on FJ, I knew it was lake Superior. But for the life of me couldn't think of a city on it in the US. I was starting to think it was going to have to be a Canadian city. So I went with Thunder Bay. But it actually to big... oh well.
  8. I enjoyed watching monobob (which has to be the best name to say). Though I also missed the final as it switched to ice dance and the finals were going to be on to late.
  9. Just got around to watching this episode. And yeah, his accent seemed natural to me. He probably did get roles because of it. And never tried to lose it.
  10. As for the Tess Ledeux thing, I could have sworn I heard the announcer say something about her losing her father last year. It was in passing, I may have misheard. But if this is the case. Then she is sad that he wasn't there to see her win her first Olympic medal, at the same time she is happy to have won anything. So she was going through multiple emotions at the time. And I think just missing the gold medal would have been down the list.
  11. I was watching the snowboard qualifiers on NBC for about ten minutes, that was ten minutes to long. Did you know the Chloe Kim is a snowboarder? They seriously mentioned her every few minutes. Even if someone else was going. I then saw it was listed as being on the Canadian channel an hour later. I actually turned it off for an hour and put on the Canadian coverage. It was way better announcing. They mentioned her and the Canadian athletes, but they did cover anyone that had a run. I realized I'm very lucky to be able to access both feeds.
  12. True, but at first it was confusing as it just said "Brazil" in bold letters. It took me a second to realize the question said "northern". But I can see how that it would be confusing as they are trying answer quickly. And as a visual learner, it was distracting.
  13. I feel like the question that highlighted Brazil then asked about something completely unrelated was unfair. It was misleading on purpose. And I think they should have accepted the name of the pharaoh as it was correct I believe.
  14. This actually isn't true. I know multiple people with US Citizenship and another countries (some live in the other country). They however, do have to "pay" US taxes. Which in my aunt's case, she lives in Canada and became a Canadian citizen 5 years ago, after marrying (a Canadian citizen) and raising kids there. But she is still an US citizen as well. She didn't actually owe anything as she didn't make money in the US but still had to file. This is very common and lots of people are Duel Citizens. That being said, I personally don't care me which country she skies for and what her Citizenship status is. As the later especially is none of my business. The one complaint I had, was yesterday. The announcer was saying how great this is for China's skiing program. Perhaps she will inspire people, however she lives & trains in the US. And has plans to go to Stanford for college. So calling her win a great inspiration for China's ski team, seemed to be kind of a cheat. As she doesn't train there and has no plans to either. I kept thinking that she is completing in China because of the money and attention. Which she is hardly the only one to take the opportunity as it was available. I also thought that she was probably "stuck up and arrogant" as only that kind of person would do it for the money/attention. Up until I saw her (and the other girl) comfort the silver mentalist. It was nice to see. I'm not sure what her reason is for competing for China. But if that is where she feels her identity is, who am I to say otherwise.
  15. I decided to post this here, as it isn't really related to Skating. I put on skating for a few minutes yesterday. Anyhow, a Chinese girl when in for a spin jump toward the end of the camera already.... when my app suddenly went "buffering". So she got deleted by the buffer lol. It seemed like it could have been in a commercial for a satellite or cable company. Then of course it pops back on and she is just sitting on the ice, having fell. Which I would have bad for her but I was to busy laughing at my app for cutting out at the best time. Anyhow, does anyone else have funny Olympic stories?
  16. I'm sorry if this isn't the ski jump course. But I think it was as the "big air" was happening on it. It is a nice looking course. However, my husband walked into the room as I was watching it and asked about the nuclear power plants. From then on I couldn't not see them, just there in the background. So every time the USA announcer said how pretty it was, it took me out of it.
  17. I really enjoyed watching this. And agree some of the falls... ow. But got respect them for getting right back up and finishing, despite it leading to a bad score. I am happy for the NZ snowboarder.
  18. At this point I was thinking "you got be kidding"... I missed the beginning of it and had turned it on about 9:00. At first to NBC, who were all American centric of course. They at least didn't show them on a bus lol. But still annoying. I'm lucky to be able to get Canada's fed as well. However, for reason they were like 15 minutes ahead of NBC (maybe due to commercials?). My favorite part by far is seeing all the countries march in, which meant I had to flip back to NBC as I missed a lot. Then once the US came though and it seemed better... then the politics came... Overall, loved all the outfits for the countries and still get that feeling of pride when a single athlete marches in for their country. I am always rooting for them to take it home especially if their country has never won.
  19. I noticed this too. I also understand why and wouldn't get into it. I am looking forward to watching the events themselves.
  20. I still think they should. As it is unfair to the other team. And a signal turnover isn't going to change my mind. That being said I'm glad to a new team in the superbowl.
  21. This was depictable and it is hard to except that someone would be that evil :(. Especially to her own grandchildren who were under 3.
  22. So I started to watch this episode and Amy of course pulled ahead right away. And I was thinking do I really want to watch another runaway, I decided "no" and turned the channel. Only to have my mother in law text me asking if I watched it. I of course asked her to spoil me and she told me that Amy lost. I'm kind of glad, no offense to her but it will nice to hopefully have competition again. And I am looking forward to seeing her and Matt face off in the tournament of champion's.
  23. ^While I agree it is important for safety. Other sports such as Hockey do it way more fair and safe. In Hockey they get banged around too. Both teams get a chance with the ball that way it doesn't matter who won the coin toss. The first team has a clear unfair advantage in Football. Where as other sports such as Hockey where both teams have an equal chance of getting the puck. It isn't the same in Football. So each team should get least one change to score. Then they could go into a sudden death situation after say 10 minutes (or maybe 5, as Football time takes forever...). The after the time limit the first team to score wins. This is fair and wouldn't result in a coin toss deciding the outcome.
  24. ^this is why I'm probably going to root for them now.
