Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - General Discussion
blueray replied to Aethera's topic in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
I am a fan of the 7th Rule (Cirroc youtube channel) they are reviewing every episode of DS9. Anyhow, during the baseball episode, it was asked who has it. Apparently Cirroc doesn't know either. I feel like that prop would be worth a lot. -
My guess would be a different freezer. One that wasn't for any of the competitors. Then they just put the ice there right when the called "baker whatever" in. That way they are equally as frozen as well. I just realized another reason they probably are only allowed to use their freezers is probably because of the infamous time when Diane took out Ian's ice cream. This completely eliminates this happening again. Everyone has their own, so nobody else will touch it.
-
I was wondering about this. Are they allowed to use each other's freezer, especially in this case some of the people were done already. That was pretty close, I though that Janusz was going to go. But I guess it was Kevin's time, though I'm glad they liked his flavors.

I didn't remember, Rowan from before. But wow I was rooting against her. I was like "wtf?!" when she bet it all. I feel like Ken also was taken back by it. It made me really not like her. I don't like arrogant people. And I hope that she loses.

I'm in the minority group that likes the engineering bakes. It is interesting and often amazing to see what they can do. In my opinion (probably opinion of one), it was just baking it would be kind of boring. The challenge is part of the excitement. Not that they shouldn't bake but it is nice when their is artistic side as well.

Was thinking the same thing. Then decided if this was an American reality show, she would have been a guest judge. Also, as an American, I agree with what everyone said about S'mores. It's gram crackers, Hershey chocolate bars and the marshmallows are way smaller.
-
First of I want to say I was surprised (and happy) when they acknowledged that Syabira had nailed it and that it wasn't even close. Handshake on the signature, first in technical and a pretty good show stopper. Often shows will name some else to do add the "drama". But this time Paul admitted that she was getting Star Baker. As for the other side, that was way more close. I feel like it could have been either Dawn or Kevin. Also s'mores, really. I don't associate that with Halloween at all. But that could be because by Halloween it is two cold to do that here (and sometimes snowing).

I'm glad that Sandro got star baker. That world looked amazing and tasted good! As soon as that was clear I called that he would get it as he has been close for many weeks now. I do wonder why we didn't get his phone call? Syabira I feel like her sticking to the same thing is going to be her down fall, however there are other bakers that I think will go first. Carol, I'm sorry to say was in there way longer then she should have been. In the signature especially it was clear that all the other bakers were way more skilled. Not just that their cakes came out but that their decorations were as well.

In Memoriam: Entertainment Industry Celebrity Deaths

I was reading reddit and saw someone's post regarding him in the documentary and didn't think much of it until I looked back and realized it was memorial :(. 72 is way to young :(. I do wonder if he knew based on his quote about Hagrid living on. Which he will and I am very thankful for that. RIP Robbie Coltrane. -
As a Bill's fan, I say we should have pulled Allen earlier then we did. No reason to risk him getting hurt and the other starts as well as we need them against KC. But wow did he play a good game. Two plays were amazing but especially that 98 yrs play (okay don't know the term). He throw it more then halfway down the field.

I probably mentioned this before but this mostly applies to Sci-fi and fantasy shows. But I love the scenes where the characters are shown doing something "normal". Like eating in the mess hall or talking about a movie. It is a nice contrast between the rest of the episode which is the action, drama or genre stuff. These scenes are usually the bookends of the episode. example: Stargate Atlantis: episode starts with team eating lunch and then ends with team eating lunch but Woosey joins them this time.

I was surprised they kept Carol. I imagine she will be gone next week as the rest of the bakers are just better. I guess they didn't send her home because James messed up the show stopper and they did like part of hers? Maybe it's an opinion of one but I liked the taco challenge. I imagine shells are hard to make (never tried myself). Yes it isn't really baking but I enjoyed it anyway. And the ones that were good looked appetizing, especially the one Prue and Paul had. I wanted to grab one off the screen. As for Dawn, she didn't a handshake but she got Paul to smile. You could tell by his face that he really liked it. I feel like that is harder to do.

What about family owned? The best pizza places here are family owned places. Still "american" but some of the owners are actually Italian.

I called right away when they said that two of them were not there do to being sick, that nobody was going home. As that isn't fair, as they don't know how they would have done. So I was glad to be proven correct at the end. I will say the showstoppers looked gross. It didn't matter the flavors, I don't want meat in my cake lol. I'm sure the taste was good but definitely didn't look appetizing.

I was sad to hear about Louise Fletcher. I know she is most known for One flies over the cuckoo's nest but to me her performance as Kai Winn is Star Trek: DS9 was amazing and a very rememberable part of the show. She made me hate her so much, which shows how talented she was. As the character in my opinion is one of the best villain's as unfortunately there are real people like her. Anyhow, RIP Louise Fletcher. -
I do this too when I'm not being lazy lol. As for the feathers. Maybe it was the way it was worded. Like the directions then said something vague like "now take the white chocolate and feather it". If you aren't aware of the decoration technique they took it literally.

This is definetly an interesting group. I'm glad Maxy won, however I feel like this time it wasn't obvious who was going to win star baker, as they were all pretty good. The same can't be said for the bottom however. It was clearly between Rebs, Carol and Maxon (sp). But I feel that Rebs saved herself by winning the technical as the should count. I would have personally sent Carol home. Her bake was not the right kind and was the problem. Where as Maxon's was to simple. That being said I don't see the other two lasting much longer. As for the bakes. The technical reminded me of a something that I got in Aruba (it's a Dutch product). But there was no chocolate on it. It is just dried fruit between two cracker/cookie things. Not to sweet but good. I wonder if this was a language thing. As it seemed like they didn't know the term so thought they were referring to feathers.

What a nice group of people. I liked them all but some stood out right away names wise. I know this get easier as it goes on, but the first episode is hard to figure who is who. I was actually impressed with all their houses, I feel like even if I could bake the decorations would get me. Of course I'd do my childhood home, which was your standard American suburban house, so siding would be difficult to show lol.

The Annual Primetime Emmys - General Discussion
blueray replied to susannot's topic in The Primetime Emmy Awards (Emmys)
I kept waiting for the "punch line" but it never came. I thought she'd start talking and he'd jump up or something. As he'd get a real reaction as supposedly she didn't know she won. But instead he just laid there? I wasn't planning on watching but was doing laundry and it was good thing to have on in the background. I liked the Kell cameo, that was cool :). I also liked them dancing to the different show themes :). I thought Kenan did a good job actually. The outfits were out there as usual this year. The one girl had a large curtain as a dress. At first I thought it was part of a joke but then I realized that was her actual outfit. -
I wonder, it's possible that they have a set release date as well. Hopefully neither get moved.
-
I agree. I liked Pete and at the time was disappointed that he was written off. I find myself preferring the earlier seasons way more. I honestly have never seen season 10 and stopped watching somewhere in season 9... The show as good until season 6. Season 7 definitely took a turn.
-
^ I watched the first half of it, the kids aren't bad, but wow the American kids in their show would have creamed these kids if in the same competition. These seemed like "normal" kids, where as the ones in that show at least the earlier seasons were already at professional level at 9. That being said, I didn't mind the kids but the host is annoying.
-
I just went to netflix and the top thing was "Junior baking show". I didn't know they did a kids version. Is this worth watching? Or is it new?
-
Okay, in my example I was thinking a question like "Toms in entertainment". Something where that could only be the correct answer.
-
I had the same part but then decided maybe this was normal for Moclans lol.
