  1. This, accept the last part. I don't buy "our" Miles would have ever been evil. If anything, he led his uncle to be less evil (it's been a while since I've seen the first one). I do think the spider was supposed to bite the one from 42 instead. But that one turned evil, and may have regardless of the spider.
  2. I just noticed this was finally on netflix and watched it. I wanted to see it in theaters but I didn't have anyone to go with. So it was streaming for me. Some thoughts afterwards. Anyhow, I really enjoyed it. But I totally forgot that it was a part 1, so I was surprised when it ended in a cliffhanger... I have to admit it took me an embarrassing long time to realize that Miles was in the wrong universe at the end. It was until his mother didn't know what Spiderman was, which then go me realizing, wait it might have sent him to where the spider was from, not him. I loved the animation, I'm sure this one will win awards for it too. It was cool how they showed the different worlds. I'm looking forward to the third one but I believe it's release was delayed due to the strikes.
  3. I think I finely figured out what annoys me about Dan. I don't dislike him (because I don't personally know him) but its he's fake "helpfulness". It comes across as him basically saying "I pity you and am willing to help you, aren't I amazing!" It doesn't seem natural, its force and almost if he is trying to overcome something. It's possible it's the editing, but in this episode there was kind of proof. He "offers" to help Josh carry his showstopper. Josh gives him an annoyed look and says that he'll manage. It was awkward and weird that Dan even suggested it.
  4. the comments about coping what Josh is doing was a response to Noel. And not exactly what he was doing anyway. As he still had to doing baking.
  5. I have admit I had a rough day today and put on the final to relax and escape. It was during the intro that I realized I really wanted Matty to win. As it was a nice come from behind win. He improved as the show went on and was also humble. I cheered when they called his name! Always, nice to see the underdog win. And I really want that chocolate cake ;).
  6. I'm not sure this is the place to ask this but it sort of relates to the episode that was on yesterday. There was a question (forgot what it was) but my instant response was "eww...", which my husband laughed at. But it made realize that the constants rarely react to a question's content. Is this do them the focusing on the buzzer? I imagine that's the case. But then it made me wonder if my response would have got me disqualified as I would have talked without buzzing in and wasn't an answer anyway lol.
  7. I just remember it was a band I never heard off. So I assumed they were British. Edit: nevermind dleighg said above. And never heard of him as he is current, now if he was from the 80's I probably would have as my husband is really into bands like Depeshe Mode.
  8. I felt bad for Tasha, but she was the most likely one to go as she struggled the most. I'm rooting for Matty. I always like a good underdog story. And I never thought he'd get this far, but has improving each week.
  9. I'm glad Matty won star baker. He deserved it as he did great in the signature and show stopper. That being said props to Tasha for making it actually look like Noel. Paul and Prue supposedly didn't know she was going for that and instantly knew it was supposed to be Noel. Which is impressive. Me neither. But I can see this jumping the pound. As those are really cute cakes. And we have stuff similar but nothing exactly like that.
  10. I kept thinking of the show "Switched at Birth" they had actors that were (are?) deaf (in real life) play the characters. So when they were signing it was legit and they had subtitles as most people (me included) wouldn't understand what was going on in the story otherwise. As for this, I thought it was an interesting stylistic choice and wondered if it was the show or Tasha that came up with it.
  11. I was actually thinking "it's fine just get over it". Which I realize is mean, but I've seen way worse. And I have to say I loved the montage of everyone dropping stuff, as that would be me. I'm glad Josh won, as he was toward the top the whole time. And Dana was the right one to send home. Her box looked amazing but it's about the cake not the box (which they didn't ask for). I was generally confused by this comment. As Dan had to know he was exactly the middle of the pack.
  12. This maybe a regional thing, but I've never heard of whisky being in Pecan Pie. Actually there's no alcohol at all...
  13. Me too. As I have to admit I had to rewind to see what his name was. As I didn't remember it. I called nobody was going home as soon as Tasha had to withdraw from this week. As Paul said she struggled with the signature, which meant it is impossible to know what would have happened if she was there. Okay, I know that there is a difference in the UK. But when Paul said "it looks more like a dessert than cake". My American ears went "what?" lol as they are the same thing here, but then I remembered that in the UK Dessert is pudding...
  14. I think it's between him and Tasha right now. They both have been consistently near the top.
  15. Not play there. I don't get why there are games in London. If they are trying to grow a market, I don't see that working. What are they going get their own team?
  16. The only one I remember not likeing (not that I hated him or anything) but found him annoying. Was a guy a few seasons back (can't remember his name). He was kind of arrogant and I was a better baker than him. Like how did he get on the show, he must have known someone in the crew. That being said, as "annoying" as I found him the first time, he thankfully was the first one to go home. And the came back for one of the holiday episodes, and was able to laugh at his inability to bake which was actually funny. Someone one here probably remembers his name? Anyhow as for this season. This is a great group of people. I was glad that Tash won though. Her "plates" looked like real ones. That alone made her be the winner for me. As for the technical, custard to me means a type of ice cream. So I thought it was going to be way harder then it was lol.
  17. I've worked with people that have hearing aids, it maybe because she lost her hearing as a kid (instead of say a infant). She learned to talk first. I also got the impression that she can read lips, so she was able to understand what Prue and Paul were saying at the show stopper, unless the interceptor was off screen? Oh right, I forgot about that. Opps.
  18. I really like this group of people, none of them are annoying which is always nice to see. I was however disappointed that the show spoiled the joke at the beginning. I would have laughed at "Nicki tell me about your beaver" but the intro had to go ruin it :(. Anyhow, I agreed with sending Almos home as he was at the bottom of all the rounds. And I could help but thinking that his Wale, looked like the time I tried to paint one (my friends all made fun of me lol). It's hard having no artistic abilities. To bad it didn't taste good either.
  19. I didn't even realize the "new season" started. I think they should have waiting and just aired reruns. I'm against using old clues, as it takes away from the writers. What stops them from going, well that was easy lets just do this instead. As for Ken Jennings (I assume he's been hosting?) I'm not sure if he is in the writers guild, but you'd think he would be. I was hoping he would support them, as he obviously worked heavily with them either way. I guess he could be pressured as he is also a producer...

    Barbie (2023)

I thought it was going to be her husband (the girls father) as it almost seemed like they were setting up that she was a single mother and her daughter was rebelling. But it was due to both of them feeling a loss. As for the first part with them they talked as if he was gone, it was almost in past tense. But then he turns out to still be alive. Which I was surprised about.

    Barbie (2023)

I finally got around to see it. I was going to go a few weeks ago but I got Covid :(, so had to wait until I could go again. Anyhow, I heard it was good but wasn't sure if I'd like it. I did. it's cute movie and the cast was good. I laughed at parts, cried at others. It was great to get to see this in the theater before it left. I forgot how much I missed the experience to see a blockbuster in a theater (it's been a while). It was interesting despite the movie being out for a few months it was a pretty packed showing, though it was one of only a few showtimes for Barbie left at this theater. I totally related to America Ferrara's speech. As a thirty something year old girl, I know what it is like to be judged and always feeling like I'm doing something wrong. I had a nice discussion with my mom (who went with me to see it) regarding this. One mild complaint I had was the stuff was with Will Farrell. Most of the movie was more serious (not exactly the right word?) but then he & CEO teams come in and are stupid. Like they can't figure how to jump over the entrance thing and it's cartoony. But it is supposed to be the real world at that point. Overall, I enjoyed this movie and was glad to finally see it.
  22. Me too. I stopped rewatching that episode because of it. They are rude the Bed & Breakfast place.
  23. Yesterday my husband and I were watching "Fall of Civilizations" it's a youtube channel (which covers historical empires and their falls). Anyhow we were watching the Carthage episode. Throughout it, it was showing Hamibal (historical figure) . Anyhow I thought the actor looked like Bashir and my husband agreed. So throughout it we were joking that it was Bashir concering Italy. Until the end credits when it showed the casting only to list Alexander Sidig ;). So it just was him. He apparently played him in a movie in the early 2000s. But I guess sometimes you just find actors in unexpected spots.
  24. I'll put this in spoilers just in case. Also seeing above, so it should have been Kelah. That would have been nice as it seems like that would be a come from behind story. I'm not sure why Leanna was in the final then.
