I've started listening to Robyn and Gizelle's podcast when I take walks.  They can be really funny together.  And it struck me yesterday, that with all the joking about Robyn always being late or being lazy, she does all the ad voiceovers that are in the podcast not Gizelle.  It's weird because you get to listen to Robyn shill for Peacock, then AT&T and I think one other sponsor I can't remember right now, all in a row.

I don't think Gizelle reads out loud well. Remember her audiobook? Tragic...

Trailer for the season 6 reunion. Looks good, but..... does this really need to be 4 episodes?

Another 4 episode reunion. Why? It’s not like much happened this season. Maybe 20 minutes will be devoted to Karen’s butterfly debacle.

Oh, that’s right, Nicki Minaj “crashed” the reunion …

The seating chart is a bit interesting.

It wouldn't be a reunion if Candyass wasn't breaking out the prop tissue paper.

I guess showing off leg over cleavage is in this year?

Anyone read Not All Diamonds and Rosé...?

I'm reading some good bits in the Beverly Hills thread posted by @dosodog. I know she reads here too, but she might be burnt out, so I won't beg her to post here 😇.

I'd appreciate anything y'all would be willing to spill.

Otherwise I'll see if I can hunt down a copy from my library and post later when I have time.

UPDATE: Just placed book on hold using my eLibrary. Unfortunately, all 33 copies are checked out.

I would be more than happy to share!  Possibly tonight.  More likely tomorrow.

Thanks, hon! Didn't want to assume you'd want to share, but you did such a good job with the BH recaps. I enjoyed them very much.

I read it the night it came out. Juicy and fun. I like oral histories as a form. The history of SNL and MTV was done the same way.

Anyway, my biggest takeaway from the Potomac chapters is that Candiace did not bite her tongue in regards to Andy. She's scathing.

And that the Atlanta Housewives refuse to do anything to promote Potomac. Andy even comments on it.

Some thoughts first.   I did enjoy this book.  I would have enjoyed some discussions of the roles production has played throughout the years.  I also feel that some Howives get off lightly in this book.  For example, Tamra Judge, imo, gets a tongue bath from production in the OC section and Rinna in the BH.

Potomac was only 23 pages.  Dallas was slightly longer.  DC was 6 pages and all they talked about was the White House party crashers.

Here we go!

It starts with a quote from Karen Huger.  She felt that her name would be at the top of the list for casting.  Charrisse said she knew they would have a hard time casting.  Adrian Wells, Casting, said people in Potomac don't want to be on TV.  Andy Cohen thought they would be perfect because Potomac is glamorous and take great pride in their community.  Charrisse says casting wasn't looking to duplicate Atlanta, but wanted to "duplicate the black version of Beverly Hills" and she then says "to be honest, we don't flaunt our money like that".  Adrian, casting, says area is conservative and not showy about wealth.

Charrisse was not interested because Eddie wasn't supportive, but she was involved because of her NBA Wives Association and her connections.  Her first call was to Gizelle.  Giselle only asked the opinion of her daughters who support her being on the show. They know who Gizelle is (yes they do!) and love her no matter what.

Lauren Eskelin says Gizelle is fascinating. Whip smart, hilarious, opinuated, stays calm in conflict, observes other people's worlds and comments, but doesn't allow others to comment on her world.

Lauren Eskelin says Karen Huger is like a soap opera star.  The first time she met her, she was draped in diamonds and wearing a mink and very dramatic.  Adrian Wells says she's like Gizelle in that she knew was a star.  Karen was their Lisa Vanderpump.

Katie Rost says she wasn't really friends, that Charrisse recommended her because she was young, a hot mess and has good storyline issues. Adrian Wells liked that Katie was an adult version of the children the other ladies were raising, she made the cast a group of multidimensional Black women of all ages, she grew up Suburban.

Robyn Dixon was recommended by Charrisse and Gizelle.  Lauren Eskelin liked that Robyn was sharing a bed and a house with her ex husband.

Katie says Ashley was brought in after they had been filming for a month.  Adrian says Ashley felt different.  Younger, age gap with husband, free and open.  Charrisse says she embraced her from the start.  Gizelle says it took her half a season to appreciate what Ashley brings.  At first she didn't understand her because she was a young girl married to an old white guy, which didn't make sense to Gizelle because Ashley's personality isn't one to be married to someone 30 years older than her.  Ashley says she's no dummy, she watched previous housewife seasons and knows how to bring something different.  She's the designated quirky one.

Gizelle says Ashley is someone you either love or hate.  Karen hated Ashley because as the oldest cast member and was being made fun of for all the plastic surgery and Botox.  She would wear tape under her wig to pull her face tighter.  She shaded Ashley for shopping where her daughter shopped and constantly lectured her on etiquette. Everyone was sick of Karen's etiquette.  Karen believes as the "matriarch", she makes sure the rules are in place.

Karen really was upset about Gizelle sitting in the middle at her birthday party.  Gizelle says the producers told her to sit there.  Joshua Brown, Vice President of Production, says they were surprised that Gizelle sat there.  Karen said She sat in my seat. She needed to get up. Gizelle was shocked about the mirror with rules gift. Gizelle says pre show Karen would never have done that and Karen has completely changed.

Robyn said the 3 oldest, Charrisse, Gizelle and Karen were competing all the time.  Charrisse says it was more Karen and Gizelle and egos. Karen says relationships grow, ebb and flow, fun shade, painful shade.  Gizelle says there is a level of respect as much as they go at it.

Robyn says she made it very clear to production that Juan, his personal and business issues were off the table, when production asked her if anything was off the table.  Ashley says you can't do that.  Katie says that her and Ashley were supposed to film at a park to meet her kids.  Before they filmed, Ashley was talking to producers for 30-40 minutes.  After that, Ashley wanted to talk about Robyn's finances.  Katie says Ashley said:  Um, why is this Silver Spring, Baltimore, ghetto ass girl trying to pretend like she has anything?  Katie says Ashley's comments were all nasty.

Later that night, Gizelle, Robyn and Katie were waiting to be micced up and Katie told Robyn, Ashley spilled her business.  Robyn says she was livid and went berserk.  Katie wishes there had been a camera filming because Robyn flipped out on Eric, production.  Robyn believes production worked with Ashley on exposing her finances.   Joshua Brown, says no, production doesn't create fabrications, but shoots real lives.

Katie says Robyn refused to film that night.  Gizelle says Katie acted all innocent about dropping a bomb on Robyn. Ashley says she had no clue Robyn didn't want to talk about it. Lorraine Houghton-Lawson, Executive Producer, says Ashley isn't working for fame, but because she thinks it's fun and interesting. Everything is on the table because she really doesn't care.  She's not beholden to anyone

First @dosodog thank you for taking the time to provide us with this information. We appreciate it.

When the show first started I always called Karen Potomac's LVP, lol. She was married to an older man, but in my opinion, I never really saw the huge age difference. That's probably due to manner and vibe more than anything. I feel the same about Lisa and Ken. These men are old enough to be their fathers, but something about the women's manner makes them look comparable. I'm sure the age difference was more apparent during their younger days, though.

Regarding Karen's plastic surgery, I'll admit that I was surprised to learn she is a decade younger than my mother. She's usually put together well (especially since she's upped her wig game) but between the marriage to an much older man, the way she carries herself, and the obvious face work, she can come across older than her age.

Just my own personal opinion: I believe plastic surgery can sometimes age people instead of prolonging youth. Especially for women of color. Most don't need it.

Eat right. Get rest. Moisturize. Go easy on the liquor so you don't get puffy.

Something about the entertainment business can make even beautiful people resort to procedures they don't need.

I believe Katie. Ashley's known to be nasty despite not being called out on it as much as others.

Robyn is absolutely right about the producers setting her up. They used Ashley to bypass Robyn's mandate.

It's well known that reality show production staff uses all kinds of tricks to tell the storyline they want told. They knew early on that they had a live one in Ashley. Here's a woman willing to do anything for a check. She don't mind getting dirty with her mouth or anything else to hold on to that champagne flute.

During the BH section, I often got the vibe from production that they didn't like LVP doing their job for them--prodding Howives to bring stuff up.

And I firmly believe Ashley is loved by production like they love Tamra and Rinna!

Atlanta was the lead for Potomac, to boost ratings.  Gizelle comments on the need to compare the two, but they are completely different.  She is also wondering why they had to compare just the 2 Black shows.  Katie also says they were totally different, they had producers who came over from Atlanta  and were trying to impose Atlanta culture on Potomac culture.  Ashley says production didn't send them on an international vacation like other shows.

Charrisse says the Atlanta howives did not support them.  Gizelle says they shared production, who would ask Atlanta to share photos on social media and the Atlanta ladies wouldn't do it. Laura Eskelin confirms this.  She says it was very icy.

Next up. The introduction of Monique Samuels.

So different franchise producers have different ideas of how to run the show? That makes sense. Each show has its down vibe.

I'm not surprised that the producers love Ashley. I figured that a lot of behind-the-scenes issues influence the shows more than we know. Smart housewives befriend production, which undoubtedly makes it easier for them to keep their spot, even if the viewers don't much care for them. That's why I think Ash is safe despite doing nothing but leak milk this season.

Ashley grew up rough. People like that learn to quickly identify those who can help them. So while she may knife up every last relationship with the other howives, she ain't falling out with production if she can help it. If she fostered a good relationship, the producers will fight for her even if the cast turns their back on her.

What a damn shame! ATL acting like there can only be one show featuring a black cast? Please. They're totally different. So different in fact that I haven't watched ATL in nearly a decade. I don't miss it either.

Monique says she never thought she would be on reality TV even though all her friends say her and Chris say they should have their own show.  Karen thought their young family added energy to the show.  Charrisse liked Chris.  He would give her $100 at a pop to gamble with.  Joshua Brown liked the addition of athletes to the show

Katie was demoted.  She was exhausted because she was constantly in court fighting her ex.  He thought the show was paying her millions.  Robyn says filming with her was difficult.  During the Casino charity event, Katie's mom was screaming at producers and they'd had enough.

Monique thought she would get along with Gizelle. Production purposely kept Gizelle away from Monique's first meeting with the ladies.  Production says Gizelle left early on her own.   It was the night the woman came up and said she was dating the same guy as Gizelle.  Gizelle insisted Production put her up to it and that's why she left.

They talk about the high tea meeting.  Gizelle says she was innocently asking "Oh you don't have a home " in response to Monique saying she was looking for a home.  Monique says her experience as a football wife taught her to recognize shade when she saw it.  So she decided to "do what she does" and throw it back on her--I have 4 homes.   Gizelle says that she didn't hate Monique then, but does now.  Ashley really respected Monique's response.  Gizelle says she didn't care about her, but everyone insisted she was jealous.  Charrisse says Monique thinks everyone is jealous of her.  "No honey.  Nobody wants that life of yours" is a direct Charrisse quote.

Gizelle says no one asked Monique to rap at tea.  Monique says everyone was literally begging her to rap at the tea.  Gizelle says production did not ask Monique to rap. Monique was shocked at the reaction because everyone wanted her to rap.  Gizelle felt sorry for her because she was trying too hard.

As she shouldn't.  Anyone else says "yo mama" Andy would roll his eyes at the person who got offended at the "yo mama" joke.

But Candiace says "yo mama" all of a sudden she needs her ass beat.  I'm not with that.  Just say you don't like Candiace and go, Andy.

And stop trying to make her apologize for those old, tired tweets to Ashley.  Who the F is Ashley?

Quote

Um, why is this Silver Spring, Baltimore, ghetto ass girl trying to pretend like she has anything?  Katie says Ashley's comments were all nasty.

Ashley would be still living in Sandy Spring or at best in a basic apartment in Alexandria VA off Route 1 (or Woodbridge) if it wasn't for Michael.

Quote

Katie also says they were totally different, they had producers who came over from Atlanta  and were trying to impose Atlanta culture on Potomac culture.

AKA neck rolling, eye popping, ghetto girl fights.

Next up. The introduction of Monique Samuels.

The introduction of the fights.  Remember, Monique's first tagline was something about being rough around the edges.

Quote

Ashley grew up rough. People like that learn to quickly identify those who can help them.

In other words, Ashley is a user and a grifter.

Quote

During the Casino charity event, Katie's mom was screaming at producers and they'd had enough.

If you think Candiace's mom is bad, I think Katie's mom is even worse.

Quote

Monique says her experience as a football wife taught her to recognize shade when she saw it.

Monique probably got shaded because she slid Chris' longterm girlfriend whom everyone probably knew out of the picture so she could assume the position.  That's why she got shaded.

Quote

Charrisse says Monique thinks everyone is jealous of her.  "No honey.  Nobody wants that life of yours" is a direct Charrisse quote.

As athletes' wives, both Charrisse and Robyn would've seen types like Monique and known what to do, too.

I just want to make clear, these are not my opinions. I'm basically rereading and giving the Cliff Notes version!

Charrisse was not ready to talk about Eddie.  Gizelle was.... Charrisse says that she didn't want to do the show. She wanted Eddie to tell her no and they would focus on their marriage.   He said if you do it, we will probably get divorced.  Adrian Wells says Charrisse knew her marriage was beyond repair and doing the show was her way to get out.  Charrisse says she did do the show to escape him, but the show kept making her focus on him.  She was dealing with a 27 year marriage ending and Gizelle's lies on WWHL did not help.  Gizelle says they are in a good place because Charrisse realizes she wasn't trying to hurt her.   Charrisse says the only reason she made up with Gizelle was because production and network execs told her she had to let it go.  Gizelle says if Charrisse had told her to stop, there's a whole lot she wouldn't have said.

Robyn goes off on Ashley at Oz.  She didn't plan to go off, just wanted to tell her to leave family alone.  Ashley says Robyn was upset because Ashley was saying Robyn was in a ride or die with someone who was not riding with her.  Robyn says Ashley greeting her all chipper really pissed her off. Her emotions took over.  Ashley was mad it happened at her business in front of customers.  Gizelle says it was epic.  They rolled in, Robyn said her piece and they were out the door.

Production loved Candiace. Her relationships with Chris and her mother and her willingness to speak freely.  Candiace says she prayed to be on the show.  She thought the show was dull and she could spice it up.  Noah Samton, Production, thought Candiace and Ashley would be buddies.  Karen says she loved Candiace when they first met.  Monique says everyone hated Candiace. She's immature and a little girl.

Candiace says everyone gets put into a box on the show.  You're allowed some wiggle room if the story allows.  Her box is spoiled rotten princess, but she points out all of her businesses were started before she joined the show.

Charrisse was asked to leave the show because she wasn't getting divorced fast enough.  The producers didn't want her to have any other storyline. For example, she discovered the kids had siblings they didn't know about and she wanted them to meet on the show, but production wasn't interested.  Andy says viewers didn't connect. She says production pulled her back and only wanted to focus on her divorce.

Robyn felt bad because Charrisse got them on the show.  Ashley says she's the President of Potomac with all the connections.  Gizelle fought to keep her.  She likes the lack of pressure filming as a "friend of".

Karen did not want Ray's tax troubles on TV.  Gizelle was having none of Karen's fantasy island life and was keeping it real.  Karen says marriage is a challenge, they fight for it and that's why they are winning.

Monique's car crash.  Monique, Candiace and Ashley had a scene to shoot. Afterwards, Ashley and Monique went out for drinks.  Monique says she has 3 drinks, including a Moscow Melon that she exchanged for a martini.  Candiace didn't go, but said she witnessed Monique driving after drinking in the past.  Monique says she would never get behind the wheel intoxicated. She didn't feel drunk, she had been up since 4 that morning, she just moved into a new house, she didn't have a nanny, she was managing Financials for rental properties, starting her new business, working on the board of a new charity, just had a miscarriage all while filming a reality show and she was exhausted.  As a result, she dozed off. She rolled down windows, turned the music up, dozed off again and went into a ditch.

Candiace believes she fell asleep because she was drunk.  Monique says she limits herself when drinking, so Ashley is wrong when she says Monique had 4 martinis.  Candiace says Monique drank a whole bottle of Camus.  Ashley brought it up then.  Monique says Ashley was lying about how much she drank.  She told the group about her miscarriage and they disregarded that and went after her for drinking and driving.  Robyn says Monique was fine with Ashley's version of events, they were in a hot tub that night smoking cigars.  When they were at Karen's perfume event is when Monique was suddenly mad about them lying about her drinking.  Monique says she didn't want to go to the perfume event because she was so mad at Ashley so she decided to be quiet, but everyone was coming at her.  Ashley says they both started saying stuff to each other and it escalated.  Robyn thought Monique's anger towards her was hilarious--it was a performance for the audience about not drinking and driving.  It was making Robyn laugh, which was pissing off Monique. And the next thing you know, Monique is trying to choke Robyn with an umbrella.  Monique says she tried to walk away, but Gizelle and Robyn kept "instigating" her.  She says she called them Pinky and the Brain and that made Robyn get in her face.  So she threatened her with an umbrella.  Robyn says she knew Monique was all talk.  Monique says Ashley gave her a real apology after Candiace put her through some stuff (Candiace questioning Ashley's commitment to getting pregnant and Coronas)

  • Useful 4

Candiace says she questioned Ashley's sincerity about getting pregnant because she was always knocking back Corona Lights.  Ashley says you can attack her for anything except her pregnancy journey.  Robyn chimes in with talking about her finances was a line, but Ashley didn't mind crossing that.  Ashley says you can't equate losing money to a miscarriage.

Candiace says Ashley was just doing her job--making a big deal out of nothing while all she was doing was saying to Ashley's face what everyone was saying behind her back.  Gizelle says Candiace really wanted to be BFF with Ashley, but Ashley wasn't feeling it and it hurt Candiaces feelings and that's why she went after her.  Gizelle says Candiace is now clearly over Ashley.

I might take a break for the rest of the night and finish up tomorrow. Or maybe not.😁

One more tonight!  The Butter Knife.

Robyn says it went left fast. They were supposed to talk about Michael wanting to suck Juan's dick.

I'm gonna need a moment after typing out that quote.....

But Ashley broke the plan and went after Candiace for the comments she made about her miscarriage.  Candiace says Michael and Ashley were putting on a performance at Monique's rainbow party and she let them know.  Ashley says Candisce crossed a line.  Candiace says Ashley once again brought up her mom, being a spoiled brat, but she was having none of it because Ashley's  "life is an entire dumpster fire and it's on display for everyone to see, so leave me and my privileged Black American princess ass alone".

Robyn says BOOM, Candiace is slamming a butter knife on the table and kicking Ashley out.  Candiace says she was drinking red wine all day and had no problems telling the bitch to get out of her house.  Monique says this is when she began to feel unsafe around Candiace.   Candiace says she was never going to stab anyone with a butter knife and no one else thought she was either.  Everyone sat there calmly.  Monique said she didn't say anything because she couldn't believe what she was seeing.  She'd never seen a grown person acting like that.  Ashley says there is pressure to make it more explosive and Candiace wanted to instigate a physical fight.  Candiace said she wanted to throw Ashley's purse out to get her to leave, but Chris was trying to get her to calm down, so she threw the knife to get Ashley to go.

Monique says it was worse than shown.  Chris was getting punched by Candiace, trying to get to Ashley.  Gizelle says "You're welcome for the scene".  Candiace says Gizelle wants credit for producing the scene. Gizelle says she pushes stories and knows how to get the truth. Ashley says Gizelle thinks she belongs in the credits and Ashley kind of agrees with that.   Lauren Eskelin says Gizelle won't leave without getting the information she wants, but clams up about her own life.

Gizelle says she knew she had to bring Ashley back in after she got thrown out.  And the reason was?

They still hadn't talked about Michael wanting to suck Juan's dick.

I'm gonna need another moment.......

Candiace is mad that she's pointed as an out of control Black woman who wants to stab people with knives when she repeatedly told Ashley to leave and she wouldn't.

I'm done for tonight.  Tomorrow's 1st post will be The Country Hodown aka I Will Drag You, Pregnant And All.

Monique really is a mess. I don't understand Mo's deep hatred of Candi, a woman who went out of her way to NOT argue with Mo on a couple of occasions. Meanwhile, Gizelle, a woman who shaded, insulted, and dismissed Monique FOR YEARS, got NONE of that smoke. NONE.

Girl, this is where I am too. I'm sitting here with my mouth open trying to figure out Monique's issue. I get it; she don't eff with Candi now. Cool. But for Mo to attempt to rewrite the history that played out on our screens is some straight bullshit.

NONE.

Yes, I liked Monique on the show.

However, I remember that one of her issues with Candiace was that she felt betrayed because she thought they were tight. and Candiace was getting close to GEB. This is why I thought she went after her so hard (which was not justified in any shape or form).

Now, she is trying to say they were never friends and everyone hated Candiace from the beginning...girl, bye.

I remember how Giselle said she usually does not like people but she liked Candiace from the start.

I'll admit that I felt Candiace's questioning Ashley about her desire to have a baby seemed petty and disingenuous. We live in a politically correct society now, but I'm willing to bet that even in our modern age, a substantial amount of pregnancies BEGIN with the help of few dranks. Come on now.

I was Mo's biggest fan. I consider the Howife franchises the modern version of Roman gladiator fights. Who has the best possessions/partner/education/family/body, etc. I know we sometimes dig into the marrow of these shows -- especially when issues like race and womanhood are discussed -- but other than that, I keep it light. That said, I wanted Mo to win simply because I believed she had everything (on the outside, at least) to win the game if only she'd played her cards right.

*SIGH*

Turns out Gizelle was right about Mo the entire time, lol. Hood logic only works in the hood, hon. That shit don't work in the circles Mo wanted to travel in, and she tore her ass. Instead of sucking up to a crew that was never going to be her friend, she should have played her cards better with Charrisse (we know she fucked that up). Katie may have been another entry (when healthy she probably has good connections and experiences); add Candiace and you have two women who grew up in the life Monique aspires to build for her kids.

Notice Mo felt more comfortable around Karen and Ashley -- the two with more modest backgrounds. I see now that she was always envious of Candiace. Mo's probably always had to work hard for whatever she gets (yep, I'm calling Big Chris work, y'all). She's resentful of Candiace, yet allowed the popular girls to skate. It's all very high school. Seriously. I see all these newbies running up on Gizelle to be her friend and I'm like "Why?"

I agree with a lot of what you are saying.

I think on the outside Mo thought she has everything needed to sit at the popular table.

She had money, a loving husband (who probably is a lot of work...particularly with that mama), and a beautiful family.

Not to mention, Monique's look was almost always on point and she looks like a model.

However, Monique (by her own admission) grew up rough and you could see that in her.

It probably did lead to insecurities when she was around folks from Jack and Jill backgrounds.

Candiace grew up in that comparatively privileged world and she is very comfortable in that type of atmosphere.

Candiace also can be rough but more in a "rich mean girl" way than "I'll beat your ass" type of way.

It probably rankled Monique that she had all of the personal and material things a person can want, yet some of the cast still preferred Candiace, who had none of those outward signs of success and was still being supported by her mama.

Again, I was a fan of Monique when she was on the show.

Lady, you deserve hazard pay for this entry! Thanks so much. The first few lines had me hyperventilating over here!

I swear I'm gonna need these chicks to allow Candi to be spoiled in peace! Struggle sucks. Struggle sucks even harder when you put in real time on your hands and knees (cleaning floors or the body parts of people who may not have been your first choice if money wasn't a consideration). You know the struggle is never quite over because you'll have to clean that same area again tomorrow. Whether you like it or not. Or else the struggle gets even realer.

Candiace has probably never had to clean anything/anyone she didn't want to.... And that kills some of them.

Candiace says Monique and her were friends off camera. When they hung out, Monique would trash Michael and Ashley.  The group, as a whole, thinks their relationship is a shame.  All of a sudden Monique is defending Ashley and it didn't make sense.  Monique says it's all lies.  She doesn't trash talk and keeps her mind positive.

Candiace thought Monique was not serious about dragging her because there is a line you do not cross.  Monique says she has to restrain herself from throwing a bottle at Candiace's head.  Candiace says Monique is lucky that she didn't threatened someone else who didn't give a shit about her or her unborn baby.

Monique says she a 0-100 type person.  I can snap and apologize just as quickly.  So she apologized to Candiace about threatening her with a bottle.  Candiace says she has no idea why Monique defended Ashley so strongly after last year when Ashley made damaging accusations about Monique drinking and driving.  You're threatening me with physical violence  but you let Ashley slide and "forgive her".  Candiace says that's fishy.

And now it's Michael Darby Ass Grabbing Time.  After I have some chocolate ice cream to fortify myself.......shudders.......

Ashley says Michael and her has just got back together and were stronger than ever.  She had been sharing private stuff on TV, they were working together, they fell apart, they got together and then this....

Andy Cohen was shocked and forgot that Michael had grabbed his ass previously. Gizelle says Michael's been grabbing ass since season 1.  Candiace says two other producers had their asses grabbed by Michael.  Lorraine Haughton-Lawson, production,  had heard off the record, that Michael grabbed a lot of asses from the gay men on production. Gizelle says Michael likes to squeeze asses and this time the cameraman was the wrong ass to grab.

Monique felt sorry for Ashley. If it's true, your husband is out grabbing ass while you are trying to have a baby.  If it's not true, the media is playing up your husband grabbing ass.  Ashley says this is when she realized Monique was a true friend.  She realized the severity of the situation, didn't try to joke or make a storyline about it.  Candiace says the only reason Monique stood by Ashley's side after the ass grabbing was because it made her look good for the show.

All charges were dismissed against Michael Ass Grabbing Darby.

Ashley says she knew her marriage would be a hot topic because of all the differences between them and how open they are.  Andy says Michael has a love hate relationship with the show. Not sure what he gets out of it and lands up in a lot of messes.  Gizelle likes Michael, he's a wild card.  The producer in her knows he's good tv.

Wendy gets introduced. Friends with Candiace. Trying to find footing and a moment per Candiace's advice and that's how "Address me as Dr. Wendy" was born.

Robyn says at the beginning of the season,  Candiace was on thin ice with everyone.  Candiace says she was trying to make up with everyone.  She was fighting with Gizelle, Robyn and Monique and was constantly apologizing.

Monique refused to speak to Candiace unless there was a witness around.  At the winery, she says Candiace got liquid courage.  Candiace was trying to start an argument, but Monique was just laughing at her.  Candiace says it was light stuff:  she teased her for faking sleep as she was leaving the log cabin in the woods.   Monique said she wasn't a mother and began shaming her for being childless and it escalated.

Monique says she got her hand in her face just like Ashley and the butter knife.  She doesn't do hands in the face.  Candiace says her hand was barely in her face.  Monique told her to back up.  Candiace said What are you going to do.  Drag me?  Which passed Monique off and pushed her over the edge after she warned Candiace.

Candiace says that's when Monique flicked her hair and she flicked Monique's vest.  Monique says she swung her wine glass and hit her in the face.  That's when she pulled Candiace's head down and started punching her.  Candiace says the glass did not leave her hand until after she was pulled down on the table.

People were screaming at Monique to let her go, buy she wouldn't.  All Candiace was thinking about was please let her wig stay on.  She would not live on infamy on the internet as a Black woman whos wig has been ripped off and she's fighting in cornrows.

Robyn said that yes, Candiace can be annoying, but nothing she said or did, warranted that type of physical attack.  Monique says they eventually led her to a back room, but her adrenaline was pumping.   The force of the glass pushed her lip into her tooth, made her bleed and got her really mad.  Candiace said she was a mess and a producer held her like a child.

Monique says they were trying to calm her down, but she could hear Candiace saying "She's fired" and Monique was all "She's still talking? If I'm fired I am whooping her ass".  Candiace says the producers suddenly told her to get in a car.  Candiace did not know at the time that Monique had broke free from the barn and was running to get her.  Monique says by the time she got there, Candiace was gone.

Lorraine Haughton-Lawson says she spoke to both of them that night.  Monique was going crazy about how Candiace got what she deserved and wanted.  Candiace was a puddle of mush and has been ever since.  She says Candiace goes back and forth from being angry and hurt because Monique was at one time, a friend.  Andy said it's a bad look for the series.

Monique says Andy was really there for her when it all went down.  Candiace says Andy never reached out to her and has qualms about it because she heard he spoke to Monique. Andy says he did not reach out to Monique,  she came to him--she wanted to plead her case snd prove Candiace provoked her.  Monique says Andy would listen.  He said to her, sometimes the camera doesn't catch things, stay true to what you think happened.   We'll sort it out at the reunion with footage.

Candiace says she reached out to Andy's assistant to get Andy to call.  Nothing.  She knows all the howives constantly text him, but how many were physically assaulted.  He couldn't take 10 minutes out of his schedule, he didn't give a fuck, he makes money off their backs, feeds his son with it and he just doesn't give a fuck.  She says she told him that to his face.  Andy says he knew she was talking to production and would have absolutely called her if he had known.  He doesn't remember her telling him he doesn't give a fuck.  He does remember she was upset he talked to Monique.

Joshua Brown says he called Candiace a lot and the network was very supportive of her.  Candiace says Bravo didn't give a fuck about her. Yes they'd check on her, but she thinks they were trying to avoid lawsuits.

Monique held onto something Andy told her:  Not saying it was right, but there's a thing called cause and effect.  Poke the bear and the bear will bite.  Andy says is POV was skewed by Kenya and Porsha's reunion fighting so he wondered what Candiace's role in this was.  Gizelle says thus was different because Porsha apologized to everyone.  She didn't go to social media to lie about it and showed remorse. Monique still hasn't shown remorse.

Next and I think the final part:  Monique and her stealth use of bloggers.

Well that's what Robyn said on one of the episodes.  I think Candiace's issue was Ashley made this announcement she was going to stop knocking back the Coronas and live a healthier lifestyle so she could get pregnant but every time Ashley was with the group, she was knocking back Coronas.

Andy put Candiace in the Kenya role.

So since Candiace is the "Kenya" of the series she needs to study how Kenya handles herself and handles Andy and proceed accordingly.

Robyn says Monique Leaked the story to her fans right away and they knew it was her because the details were totally skewed against Candiace. Monique says she never told bloggers.  She told family and friends.  She knows who leaked it though  Lorraine Haughton-Lawson said Monique is intoxicated with the fame.  But she would deny, deny, deny, deny that she had anything to do with the story.  She'll say, I only told 2 people.  Well you knew what you were doing when you told 2 people!

Candiace says she was attacked on social media for a year before the season aired.  Robyn says it was really bad.  People said Candiace deserved it, she asked for it.

Monique asked for a meeting with everyone, but Candiace to apologize for putting them in harm's way.  Karen hosted it, offered Candiace the same opportunity, but she declined.  Wendy says Monique admitted she was not remorseful.  Robyn said Monique's lack of remorse was a problem and there was nothing right in what she did.  Gizelle says if she realized and admitted being wrong, instead of doubling down, the ladies would have been on board.

Then there is a discussion about how Black women were represented.

Monique says the OGs want to be on a pedestal--they want RHOP to be a Black show that didn't act Black.  We should welcome who we are.  Everybody acts the fool.  Robyn says there is not much representation, period.  And what is out there, shows women to be physical.

Candiace says the stigma attached to their behavior is because they are Black.  Because RHOBH breaks glasses on tables, RHOD smacked a camera, RHOC threw wine in a face, flippong tables on Jersey and pulling hair on Jersey and no one calls them ghetto or that they are dangerous.

Gizelle says being a Black woman is tough and lots of obstacles blocking success.  Not how she was raised, if she has an issue, she will say it.

Ashley says all the women are saying Monique is a disgrace to Black women.  She made a mistake, it's not fair.

Gizelle says Sonja, NY, pees in a cornfield and it's hilarious, but they never could.

Robyn says Monique tore down what they built in 4 years.

Okay. I am done for the night!  There's just one more piece--the court fights.

My nails 💅 did not take as long as I thought!  Love Color Street!  We are finishing tonight!

Candiace had daily panic attacks.  She was a mess.  Monique says 10 days after the fight she started feeling bad.  She talked to a producer and wanted a one or one or with both husbands.  The same day she got the email threatening legal action.   Screengrabbed it, sent it to the producer, saying Never Mind

Candiace says she didn't file for 2 weeks.  It was all the lies.  Candiace had enough and said Monique was trying her.  Monique says Candiace filed the complaint knowing what it would do to her family.  I have 3 kids!  Monique goes on to say Candiace had no guilt or remorse knowing she hit her with a glass.

Candiace talks about Monique's charges and has no words, except vile, low and disgusting, Monique is

Monique reminds us tge whole thing was dropped due to a mutual fight.

Monique told Bravo she would finish the season with who she was comfortable with.  No cast trip or finale.  Candiace said Monique was not given a choice to film anymore.  Monique said the network didn't penalize her at all.  Noah Samton, production,  said arm's length for Monique, which kept her out of scenes and the show and that was a repercussion.

Gizelle said the pandemic pushed the season premiere back.  Bravo wanted a unified response on social media--a pre-planned comment, with picture.  Monique posted the picture with their faces scratched out

Robyn says they all agreed to do a Tik Tok Don't Rush challenge. Monique was excited and said she'd be there, canceled because she was busy  and when people wanted to know where Monique was, she was telling them she didn't want to be involved in fakers.  Which set Monique's fans on the other howives.

Gizelle brought up the Drag song.  Candiace called it a piece of trash.  Gizelle recognized Monique was good for show--all she had to do was apologize to Candiace. But after scratching out her face, now she needed an apology.

Andy said producers showed more of that fight then ever before. Joshua Brown says it was done documentary style.  Viewers make the judgement.

They wanted Monique to come back to show tge journey between her and Candiace. Andy never thought Monique could come back, but public opinion was different. Candiace was at first no, but then decided Monique was not messing with her money.  Monique was not moving forward.

Monique has a low class mentality and that's what Gizelle (although fueled by jealousy) and Chris' momma picked up on immediately and what the other cast members discovered one by one.

Monique sounds stupid for suggesting the other cast members not wanting to throw down in barns is trying to distance themselves from being "black."  But she knew fighting was not a good look because she tried to get her rough friend Gigi to beat up Ashley instead of doing it herself.  And I have a problem with that because that suggests she felt Gigi was some disposable thug with nothing to lose so let Gigi beat up Ashley while she kept her hands clean.

But Gigi had a job, a husband and aspirations so why would she beat up Ashley for Monique's sake. Why would Gigi risk losing her husband, job and aspirations to beat up Ashley (a woman she really didn't know) as if she & Monique were 21 year olds in the club?

Monique has a young, silly mind.  You hate to see it.

After Gigi and Monique fell out and Gigi started telling all of Monique's business, she claimed Monique wanted her to beat up Ashley and I would assume it would've been for the drunk driving miscarriage statements.  That's Monique's MO: to have other people do her dirty work while she keeps her hands clean,  She used her network of bloggers to go after Robyn, Candiace & Gigi and allegedly tried to use Gigi to go after Ashley.

The only time she got her hands dirty was to put them on Candiace.
