For me, on this side of the pond, everyone on this show has been an 'unknown' until they showed up here. Save Julie Andrews, but she's only doing voicework. Don't think they can afford anyone 'more famous', even if they wanted to. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/95392-bridgerton-in-media-bodice-ripped-from-the-headlines/page/17/#findComment-8438427

RealHousewife September 10 Share September 10 I have just a couple of episodes left, and I’m so sad about it! I know it will be awhile before we get season 4. I plan to watch Queen Charlotte next, but are there any other similar shows? I’ve never seen a show that has great writing, romance, drama, humor, and just stunning visually. Period pieces can be kind of dreary and dull. I’ve seen a lot of comparisons to Gossip Girl, but that show was not nearly as dreamy to me, more of a high school show with great fashion. It’s on Prime. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/95392-bridgerton-in-media-bodice-ripped-from-the-headlines/page/17/#findComment-8453408

There is really nothing like it. Some people say Sanditon but that is absolutely different. The whole vibe is more about hardship poverty and struggles and the show was damaged by the lead actor leaving the show. So don't watch that. I watched Poldark as my bridgerton placeholder which is still not like Bridgerton but at least it has 5 whole seasons with a planned and well executed ending and a very interesting storyline and that was good. She had her religious beliefs but she also loved her sister and brother. Which is true. Despite all the crap Henry put them through the three siblings did love each other and get along until they got older. She tried to give Elizabeth advice and had a hard time putting up with Edward's new policies. And the show got canceled. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/95392-bridgerton-in-media-bodice-ripped-from-the-headlines/page/17/#findComment-8454886

Snazzy Daisy September 16 Share September 16 Bridgerton Season 4 Adds Harry Potter’s Katie Leung, Promotes 2 Others Quote Katie Leung (the Harry Potter franchise, The Peripheral) has been cast as Lady Araminta Gun. “Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off,” reads the character’s official description. “Fabulous, discerning and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.” Quote Michelle Mao (Goosebumps) is set to play Rosamund Li, Araminta’s eldest daughter and most prized possession. Described as “beautiful, vain and eager to please her mother, Rosamund sets her sights on Benedict Bridgerton this season and is determined to get what she wants.” Quote Isabella Wei (The Crow) will play Posy Li, Rosamund’s younger sister. “Her mother rarely puts the spotlight on Posy, as her chatty, overly friendly demeanor often has her putting her foot in her mouth.” Quote Netflix also announced the promotions of Emma Naomi (Alice Mondrich) and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), both of whom have been upgraded to series regulars for Season 4. She is old enough to have two teenagers if she also got married at 20 or younger. I do feel like this is a departure for this show. All of the other mothers of the Ton trying to marry their daughters off have been older, and she's the same age as Nicola Coughlan. Culturally, tanning was considered a no-no because it was unladylike to be dark. Only farmers tanned (FYI, one of my great-grandparents was a farmer. My maternal grandmother married a farm boy and who was probably the first one to attend school. Had there not been a war, she would never have married him!). 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/95392-bridgerton-in-media-bodice-ripped-from-the-headlines/page/17/#findComment-8459078

Doesn't that mean the actors are doing double-duty (working and interviews at the same time)? I'd rather they focus on making the season good than building anticipation.
