More interesting--and more useful, I think--than the finals interviews were the few times in earlier seasons that I saw Kelli doing pop quizzes with certain TCCs. I recall TCC Zoe getting cut one year because she didn't know Tom Landry was dead and thought he was the game announcer or something & Kelli & Judy got the vapors. Or she asked TCC Kimber to tell her about some current events. These clearly were areas in which the TCCs had shown weakness earlier on, in testing, interviews, or elsewhere, and were told to work on Cowboys knowledge, current events, etc. The pop quiz was to see if they had done their homework and improved their knowledge as expected of them.

Between episodes getting extended to an hour and prelims and semis getting their own episodes, everything past season 12 takes SO LONG. I turned on Pluto and caught the tail end of the final episode of season 12, and I didn't want to watch prelims or semis so I figured I'd wait for a bit and come back when finals are on. Come back what feels like a decent amount of time later and the semis aren't even halfway over.

Odd...Guess I just haven't seen them yet

It's like @go4luca said, they jump around. I think, @BluegrassDCCFan, that you have mentioned in the past that it's weird how they'll show a scene, break to commercial, then repeat the scene they just showed; they are doing almost the same weird thing with the seasons.

Seasons 1-14 just wrapped earlier today on Pluto and Season 1 playing as I post.  Seasons 15-16 have yet to air on this channel.  If I’m wrong and said seasons are on, please share here and I will stand corrected.

It's possible I got the most recent season nnumbers wrong.  I'm utterly brain fried right now crunching numbers at work.  Feel free to thwap me with a wet Herring.

But the seasonal skips definitely happen.

I never remember season numbers, but on Pluto I've seen the Meredith-Lilly make the team season & the bubble season.

Pluto does that with 90210 also. They show the high school and college years, and sometimes it goes in order, sometimes it’s jumbled, but they never show the post college years like Steve being married with kids.

That's because the post-college years sucked. 😜Seriously, I didn't know Pluto showed 90210.  Off to catch old episodes. Team Brenda!

A huuuundred percent. On all counts! I'm the exact same age as they were on the show (class of '93). If you haven't already (I don't spend much time over on the 90210 boards, so I'm not sure if you're over there), check out the Again With This podcast by the Previously TV OGs. It's outstanding.

Wouldn't it be fun to have a MTT podcast where they discuss the earlier eps?  Bring back alumni, bring back those who didn't make it.  But then again, those darn NDA's:/

I would LOVE this, especially if it's not done by the DCC. I think it would be more fun and open to snark (on the show, not the girls) if a fan did it.

That channel also shows episodes of my 1990s guilty pleasure show, Melrose Place!

I believe there are 5:

Melanie, Sarah S., Cassie, Madison G. (or Mattie) and Hilary

One vet got cut (Mikaela)

5 year vet Rheagan retired. She was featured in an Insta story about DSIG alumni who helped with auditions. Mikaela would have been a 6 year vet if she wasn't cut. I don't think many IGs go past 5 years.

I wonder why Mikaela was cut.  It seems that she wanted to stay longer so to cut her seems a bit . . . unique unless she just plain got out-danced or something else happened.

There's been DSIG vets cut (ex: Taryn, twins Jen & Wendy) but most were only on the squad for 1-3 years. This is the first time I've seen a vet with 5+years get cut.

EDITED: DSIG rookie Jean retired; it was posted on her IG.

And, she was a Captain last year!  It surprised me, too!

Wait Taryn from MTT who was cut at the end? Was she cut from IG? I loved her thought she was so pretty & wanted her to make it so bad. I hated when they cut her it still makes me sad…

Someone refresh my memory...  2019 Kat, Lily and Meridth made the team, there were 37.  So what did K&J do every week during the season - have a dance off to see who would be in the game ?

I believe there were a couple weeks where someone missed a practice and therefore sat out of the game, but Gina hurt her ACL partway through the season so that made it a non-decision and the other 36 women danced the rest of the games. I never heard about any dance-offs.

hold up the Ice Girls (not sure if this is the same as the Ice Angels group that other TCC have  mentioned on the late-MTT show) are also expected to ice skate as well as their dance skills? I just noticed the ice skates in the pix. meaning ice skating takes years to do all of the turns, spins, go backwards gracefully...

The skaters don’t do any fancy tricks or anything like that they do a very basic route shoveling the ice

Two different teams: Dallas Stars Ice Girls and Allen Americans Ice Angels!

iirc you used to hear about the Ice Angels more often on the show. Their director, Stephanie DiBiase, has appeared several times as a guest choreographer.

With the Stars Ice Girls, rookie candidates can audition to be a dancer or a skater. You can also audition in both areas, which is what most (if not all) of the vets do. During the season I believe skaters learn to dance and dancers learn to skate. At games dancers dance on a platform and skaters shovel the ice like Holly said!

This would be incredible!  I listen to the “CLEAR EYES FULL HEARTS” Podcast (A Friday Night Lights Rewatch) hosted by Derek Phillips (Billy Riggins) & Stacey Oristano (Mindy Collette Riggins) and it’s AMAZING (if you’re an FNL fan).  Guest stars, dishing on the episodes, and fan questions. It’s great.

Oh, the good ole days of watching FNL & DCCMTT in the same seasons…ahhhh, I digress. 🥺

RE: a flashback panel interview question - "If a little girl comes up to you while in uniform  and asks what does the star represent?"....

just what is the answer to this question... I can't remember what the candidate said, as I too was not sure of the answer myself..  Is there one specific answer that everyone should know ?

And I guess there is a answer to why there are 15? stars on the uniform..

Texas is the Lone Star state, so that is what the single star represents. In addition, it is seen as a symbol of unity. The 15 stars on the uniform is/was to represent 15 characteristics a DCC is supposed to embody. Collectively they also represent the hard work the cheerleaders do to earn the uniform. At least that's what I recall.

If I were interviewing for DCC I would know so much about the Cowboys organization I'd know Emmitt Smith's shoesize (12-1/2)...I passed American Gov't in high school, so I know what a political party is, how/when to vote (and why it's my civic responsibility) and how the election process is supposed to work. I'm fairly up on current events by listening to the news...I know how to dress for an interview. It's not rocket science...it's a job interview.

Even though I was stumped on one of the questions myself (see earlier post) , there are quite a few candidates who just left HS US history. IE the material of " name 3 presidents ", " who is vice president & their party" should be relatively fresh information. Most probably can rattle off street names and or school bldgs to come up with 3 presidents.

Hint finalist ladies: read up on everything you can find out about JFK. And Jackie O.

Very proud of Kelsey linebacker answer- she even gave more detail in that he is behind the linemen , and is trying to sack the quarterback.💖

There was a scene in a restaurant? where Kelli asked "what does the number 72 mean to you?" .someone said Roger Staubach, who wore #12. But I thought it was a good guess on his current age. Surprisingly , ole Roger, who is a vet & war hero himself hasn't made an appearance on the show..I think he's still in the Dallas area, and time is precious...

While I love and respect Emmett Smith, and Walton Payton even more ( Enmitt broke Payton's record in 2002, and the record still stands)  the panel really need to get a more recent cowboy hall of famer as part of the quiz-off. I say that b/c I had to recently explain to someone, who much younger that Joe Namath fame isn't only from Medicare commercials- Superbowl 3 was more than a lifetime ago, for some people . Side note: Starbauch had a great interview comeback regarding Namath. (link )😁

The earlier season seem to always have the camera on the Tom Landry statue. So I can see why he was on the tip of someone's tongue. Now, it is common to do statues while the person is still alive (ie nick saban has one). Does Jerry have one at AT&T? Did the Landry statue make it over to the current facility? Not sure if Jerry and Tom remained besties until Tom's death...

I just watched this finals episode. Christina literally answered: "I think the star represents the DALLAS COWBOYS!" Oh?! The star on the uniforms and billions of dollars of Dallas Cowboys merchandise represents...the Dallas Cowboys? It went downhill from there.

I seem to remember that Meghan Flaherty was a Dallas Stars Ice Angel, but that she seemed to be ice skating a lot more than dancing.  However, she was well-loved on that team and was a captain at one point.  I think she did at least three years, maybe more on that team.

Dallas Stars Ice Girls and Allen American Ice Angels are 2 different teams. Megan was an Ice Girl.
