Steven Kent Summers is Dolly Parton’s longtime creative director. I’m thinking he’s the one that created her uniform. If the material came from the DCC uniform closet, I don’t think Jerry Jones himself would tell Dolly Parton she couldn’t keep any part of it.
Wasn’t it stated she left to get married (as have others)? If true, I can understand. Trying to come back, I understand that, too. Good for her that the Raiderettes saw her talent.
Everyone has a right to their opinion. However, everything doesn’t need to be said particularly if it could hurt someone’s feelings. That’s my issue with her comment.
My thinking was that a dancer could use their experience having cheered for the X and bring their skill set to auditions. Not that I would want the dancer to brag or just talk up their time on X squad. I know neither K/J would be impressed by such. CCook did get to finals so she had something but just not enough. Oh well. No, she wasn’t the only one.
I wish she had tried out for the KC Chiefs. Had she made it, she could’ve tried again later to be a DCC. She could’ve come back stronger with some experience under her belt.
Sexy hips is still a thing with the DCC. Good thing the mindset has changed. These women (perhaps not all but I think most) want to be paid as performers/entertainers.
An article was put out regarding those iconic DCC boots - https://www.dmagazine.com/sports/2022/12/behind-the-boot-the-story-of-the-dallas-cowboys-cheerleaders-iconic-lucchese/
