That's right, and considering she had tweeted about the very topic, likely felt called out and froze on the spot.  She could have given 1000 acceptable answers, or even a non answer, but just didn't have the emotional maturity to handle that situation well.  Kat would have deflected with humor, Tasha would have apologized gracefully, etc.  

I feel for Caila.  She was super young when she tried out and had also been a Jr. DCC.  That's a lot of pressure she put on herself and then made a lot of immature choices like so many do at that age.  Add a little weight gain and you've got a third year vet cut.

Those are 7 of the returning vets in the front row plus 4 in the 2nd row. Eleven vets auditioned and all them made it back. Last year the DSIG had a squad of 19 vets only so 8 must have retired.

Rachel Lunsford was the one who modeled it in that episode and she looked FANTASTIC in the full outfit she was sporting. Rachel has always been one of my top 3 DCC redheads along with Emma Mary and Stephaine Lawson, which is funny as in earlier tryouts before she finally made the team you can see Stephanie as a dark brunette and it was a very unappealing hair color for her. Her change to a redhead was big for her as it totally changed her look and was very attractive.

Agree with all of this! I hate when girls have to pull out of camp through injury so tend to root for them the following year.

Stephanie looks very run of the mill as a brunette (still gorgeous but not as striking). The red certainly makes her stand out more!

Hannah is also in my top redheads group!

I imagine Jay's thought process behind asking her that question was to see how much she actually knew about a topic she was publicly discussing via tweets.

Jay's delivery was about as eloquent as her answer. Why he's in interviews, I don't know. Something about the way he asks questions, he just doesn't seem comfortable. I'd put Kristi Scales in there instead (she's fab anyway but interviews for a living).

They used her last season when they were doing the interviews via video while the girls were in the "bubble."  She was a fantastic interviewer, I hope they continue to use her in the future.

Jay isn't a typical interviewer, but I do have to laugh at some of the questions he's asked and how they got answered.  Remember he asked the infamous "If you had an hour left to live, who would you call?"  That girl's answer and his reaction always has me in stitches!

Yet she's the sort of person who would probably interview them during the season, being a part of the Cowboys and all. I'm surprised they don't have Melissa R in on panel interviews, seeing as she's everywhere else. Drama > common sense every time.

She's professional but encouraging and just seems genuinely lovely. 

I don't remember this infamous Jay scene. I've not seen the first few seasons as they never get shown in the UK!

I forget which season it is , but before the first meeting Christina and someone else are looking at some of the memorabilia and quizzing each other on who it is and they say yeah we’ve got this .... but the names are in the cases with the items!!!

Did anyone else ever notice how visibly pissed Kelli seems during the first meeting of Hannah (who was cute for weight during her 2nd season) season? When Hannah was giving her introduction saying she just graduated with a high GPA or whatever she said, Kelli gives that snarky squinty look at her. It's like she pissed at her from jump. They shouldn't have taken her into training camp bc clearly it seemed Kelli had no use for her. Yet Paige gained what 13 lbs that season, Veronica was much heavier and others.

I always thought Kelli was so mad at her weight gain bc Hannah was such an amazing, fresh dancer and suddenly was too heavy to "fit in her uniform." Another big loss for the squad, let the girl try and lose the few pounds she gained. Or I should say, give her the respect she deserves...

I thought Hannah was awkward in every moment that year, including that intro - “highest of honors!” I would be proud too, but she just seemed off from the beginning, like she was hyper aware of everything she said. 

Kelli is bizarrely pissed every conversation with her, plus Hannah went for the sound bites of “doing it the right way” - so I think Kelli thought Hannah was trying to make her look bad on camera.  Tho Kelli should have said it to her face - hey girl, you had all last season on weight warnings and repeated opportunities to work with our trainers and nutritionists and you’re pissing me off now. 

Hannah didn’t make the team the first year she tried out, then made show group rookie year…and in that same episode, they talk about how she was on weight warning all year (as a rookie.)  So I think it was weight that kept her off that first year.  

Anyway, I wonder if Hannah got the “don’t come back unless you’re in better shape” talk at the end of her rookie year, came back anyway and then Kelli just kept her for storyline. Because if she liked her character, she would have shuffled her into the My Fit Foods paid promo like the other ladies. Or maybe she did, and the editing monkeys cut it out. OR, maybe My Fit Foods said they had to cap it at X girls, and they planned to include Hannah, but Kelli didn’t like her attitude, gave her the boot and they popped Schram into her place.

I think Paige was freshly divorced and maybe dating the Cowboys player by then too, curious what was going on behind the scenes. Paige’s figure didn’t show it quite as much either. Human bodies are so weird - the bigger builds hide it better, and Hannah was just so small framed every bit showed. 
 

She looks happy and healthy now, so juggling school and DCC was probably just too much pressure.  Living off My Fit Foods (RIP) and Snap Kitchen is easy from a meal prep/time perspective, but hella expensive too.

Hannah was soooooo tiny in her rookie season that a few pounds made a bigger difference in her appearance. You could see her weight gain in her face but she didn't look that out of shape. I imagine the off season is hard for the women as they're not dancing 4 hours a night!

Paige and Veronica have always been slim but not skinny with flat but not defined stomachs. In the current squad, Kristin, Claire and Kelsey are slim but their weight seems to fluctuate a bit.

Agreed that Kelli seemed to have it in for Hannah that season. It was so evident by the way she cut her eyes at Hannah when she came in for the "uniform size-up."  And Hannah really seemed to be over it, especially with her parting comments in the locker room after her cut.

Season 10 is on Pluto right now.  I've been trying to look in the background of the prelim/semi-finals tryouts for familiar faces.  I just noticed Khalyn, current DCC Amber and possibly Keyra (not positive, it may have just been someone who looked like her).  I also saw Jackie, the one who made it into training camp with the fan vote in S11.  She also showed up again after season 11, maybe it was season 13 or 14?

It's a piece of hair that has fallen over the upper curve of her implant...the girl had  boob job. You can see the outline of the right breast as well.

I agree! Season 8, by the way, was a tough one, lots of great rookies in that class. I'd like to give a shout-out to the underrated Rachel, I never thought she got the credit she deserved.
