A dangerous situation leaves Casey and Naomi in peril. Foster and Brett are in charge of planning a field trip visit to the station while Severide and Kidd go through tough times.

They went to confront Gary alone? How stupid. This trailer arson storyline was quite boring, so I’m glad it’s wrapped up.

I knew he was gonna find something Gabby related in the apartment. They just can’t let go. SMH.

I expected the breakup but I think Stellaride is endgame.

Do we know if Chloe (Cruz’s girlfriend) is okay?

Yes, It was mentioned she was OK and back to work.

Standing in smoke, did Casey's neighbor really have to ask: what's going on?

Casey's apartment was made with cheap material.

The 3 evil Mayfield siblings couldn't hire a pro to not make it look like arson?

For a moment, I was cringing another Chicago spin off was coming featuring Naomi! It was so impressive how they broke down Gary pretty quickly with no physical harm or bribe.

Another shameless Walmart plug.

Good job Tyler you dumbass! You almost delivered Stella back to Severide's arms! Go back to Texas.

Of course, Kelly is going to get his hands extra dirty not only with the boat but give the father some parenting lessons (Kelly might have to rough him up a little).

I can sleep well tonight knowing Casey's/Dawson's picture didn't burn. The writers just can't let her go away!

I don't really like Stella/Kelly together but for some reason it made me a little sad when she ended it.  She did the right thing though.  He is on a downward spiral and the only thing she can do is not go with him.

Kelly will come to blows with the Dad over that kid, who looks way too young to be left alone.  It will be some kind of abuse thing.  Strange that the guy wants the boat done "for his son" and doesn't seem to want to spend a minute with the kid.

So over Casey/Gabby/Anyone he will ever be with.  He's just the most boring character ever.

So that was Casey's apartment!?!? And it had no smoke alarm? How is that even legal, let alone believable for a fire fighter's dwelling? I know they did this for dramatic purposes, but at the very least, there could have been some line of dialogue about how the arsonist disabled the smoke detector. I just don't see how a show about fire fighters has the audacity to hand-wave something like this (or worse, have it not even occur to them.) Ye gads.

Why is there always some idiot who has to be the hurdle to the investigation or story? This time it's a police investigator who doesn't believe them when they tell him who set the fire. So of course, Casey and Naomi have to do all the leg work themselves and confront the culprit themselves.

And I understand the sentimentality of all the fire fighters pitching in for Casey, but surely he has enough in his bank account to cover a hotel and some new clothes until the insurance pays off. Do they really need to take up a collection for him? He's not destitute, as far as I know. He could sleep at the fire station if worse came to worst.

Well, the romance sure didn't last long did it? The show probably wants to keep their options open in case Gabby comes home. God forbid.

I finally heard an alarm after Casey was trying to figure a way out. Don't know if it was in the apartment or hallway. You would also think casey would have an exit plan. No fire extinguisher?

As for the detective, give him a chance to do his job. Play that message for him. Call him when you get the guys name. He was almost as bad as, dare i say it, Gabby?

I will now escort myself to the window licker section.

I'm assuming it's from the hallway. Otherwise, it was a very bad alarm. The entire apartment was already fully ablaze by the time it went off.

Also, I find it implausible that Mouch would know all of the elderly people from the senior center by name if they only come to the station once "every few years." He greeted them all by name as if they were all his neighbors. And . . . why didn't he tell them they weren't high school seniors if he knew all along? Is he just an asshole?

Didn't care for this one but glad Tyler is going back to Texas and hopefully he stays there.

I think Kelly will get on the father for treating his kid like crap.

When Foster and Sylvie went to see the Chief, and after how they acted excited, I admit, I was wondering if it was High School Seniors or just Senior citizens. But I don't think the HS seniors would be interested unless they wanted to be a fire fighter. Mouch should have told them for sure but not sure they would have listened to him but I hope he's not one of those who is an asshole every so often.

I figure the guy is also some kind of drug kingpin or crime boss the way he dropped the cash in the boot for Casey.

Not only that but apparently he lives in a building where the bedrooms only have one means of egress. How can that be legal?

Every time Casey was complaing about how slow the investigation was going I just kept saying "call Voight". Because Voight would just do everything Casey wanted to do but be a hell of a lot more effective at it.

Can't quite believe Matt the firefighter who also does construction work and should know about building codes would live in an apartment where the bedroom doesn't have a 2 means of egress, other than knocking a hole in the wall.

Glad to see Tyler going - wish he had never come in the first place.  Stella and Severide had enough going on with the aftermath of Benny's death.  They didn't need the Severide gets jealous and Stella thinks he's overreacting but Severide was right plot.  I don't blame Stella for breaking up with him, he really did not seem interested in the relationship.  I guess he and Matt can sit around and mope stoically about the end of their relationships.

I was half expecting rich dad to smack his kid when he pulled him out to talk, but I guess they're just going to go with neglect so Severide and the kid can bond about crappy fathers.

I can't believe the chief wouldn't tell Brett and the new girl that the visitors were senior citizens, not high school students.  Fast forwarded through a good chunk of the storyline, because just did not care about goofy house antics of the week.

Did they even get a call this week?  I don't remember - I guess one super short one in the beginning?  I don't mind the character drama some of the time, but I don't like when it's the focus of the episode.  They are a firehouse and ambulance service, let's see them actually answer some emergency calls.

I also thought Casey lived in a building that was more like a brownstone or townhouse?  Since when does he live in an apartment building.

Totally agree with all the comments about no smoke alarm and unbreakable windows.  Umm... what?

Guess I'm in the minority that I liked Kelly and Stella together.  I liked that he seemed to be settling down and wasn't sleeping with every woman who looked at him anymore.  Oh well.

It's quite incredible how she is cleared and back to work, a week ahead of schedule, when this episode picked up right where the last one left off. And if I recall, Chloe had just come out of surgery and was still in the hospital bed in the last episode.

And based on the show, I believed the guys worked one 24 hour shift, had the 2 days off, another 24 hour shift, and then two days off. So that's a pretty fast recovery to the point she's going to work and is able to assist Matt in putting together an inventory for the insurance company.

And unless the arsonist actually disconnected the smoke alarms before setting the blaze, it makes absolutely no sense for a CFD captain to have no smoke detectors in his home, and only have one way of egress from the main bedroom. That's just poor writing.

And we give this another episode or two, and in true One Chicago fashion, the whole Matt losing his apartment story will be forgotten. Fantastic build up by the writers to keep leading Matt and Naomi on, and then when they finally do get together, it's interrupted by a fire, and then she's off to Zurich. She'll probably be forgotten, too. At this point, just let Matt stay single. Don't give him, or the viewers, another tease. Let him be single Matt Casey and let him be the man again.

And if those wall studs were on 16" centers, I'll eat my hat.

So many blunders and idiot moves in the trailer company storyline.  It's a felony to look inside someone else's mailbox.  I presume that will come up during discovery, which might negate testimony from the security chief.  If he wanted to, he could charge Casey with assault and battery, as well as trespassing, but, for some odd reason, the next scene is all three of them in conversation in his house. Speaking of him, the dynamic duo gets a phone list. but Naomi says to print out that list of 1100 names.  At 50 names per page, that's 22 pages.  There goes the printer ink.  They lucked out making that phone call to his office.  Worst of all was Casey's anger at the police for doing their job.  Beyond the two scenarios listed by the detective, I can think of a few others.  Casey decides to frame the family, for instance.  Naomi wants to make herself the victim, for instance.  Casey's construction jobs, for instance.  The PD has to exclude all the other possibilities, at least until our heroes can put themselves in harm's way by confronting the bad guys with only testimony from their accomplice.

And so Naomi departs the show, to follow up on a hot story in Zurich, probably involving young, jet-setting, hedge fund millionaires who ski all winter and safari all summer, and have houses in five different continents (all with smoke alarms, of course).

My heart sank for a moment when Casey was in his apartment, looking at the Gabby photo, and the off screen voice says, "Well, hello."  What a relief to know it was Naomi.

The semi vs. car crash.  It was a good thing that the crew had their helmets on.  Except for the people actually working underneath the rapidly collapsing semi trailer, of course.

Maybe Mouch was a bit of a turd for not saving the medics ahead of time, but the scene where the bus rolled up was worth the dumbness of the rest of the episode.

I had just said Stella needs to walk. Good for her, it was the right thing to do. But boy they were a terrible couple. He couldn’t do better? Yikes. I hated to see the Corvette C7 in the boat owner’s garage... I’m a Corvette Guy and and seeing what a dick he was it was a red light for Corvette Owner Jokes. Nice boat, though.

Am I supposed to believe that a firefighter , worse yet a captain doesn't have a working smoke detector? I can suspend belief only to a certain extent. Good bye Naomi, she just seemed to be an adrenaline junkie looking for her next fix. Matt needs to reevaluate his life choices before he moves on.  Stella made the right choice dumping Severide, you can't help someone who doesn't want it. Hopefully the writers won't go full soap opera  and have Stella and Matt date.

I thought Stella was kinda rude to Tyler.  I mean they've been flirting and hugging for years and she's just 'get out of my apartment' when he told her how he was feeling. He didn't do anything inappropriate, they could have talked it out.

I could have sworn he kissed her though and she really wasn't wanting a relationship. Maybe it'd be different if he hadn't kissed her and told her how he felt instead.

I'll have to give the show credit for spot-on casting though. The guy playing that part has a total Douche Face.

This whole story arc was stupid. Stella has supposedly been besties with this guy (or nearly enough so) for years and never picked up on any signals. Then one day he makes a pass at her and her reaction is "get out?" Some friend. Now, I get that in that moment she realized Severide was right, but still - the whole thing just made her look like an idiot and a crappy friend who doesn't even pay enough attention to her friends to notice whether or not they might be into her.

Stella didn't take Kelly's concerns about Tyler seriously and just kinda blew it off saying he's wrong, instead of actually considering what Kelly was saying that he was seeing from Tyler.   Then, instead of being apologetic to Kelly about Tyler once she knew he was right about Tyler, she tells him their problems aren't about Tyler.  No, maybe not because of Tyler, but her approach and attitude with Kelly about Tyler sure was a problem, IMO.

Stella and Severide bored me as a couple, so I don't really care that she broke it off.   And I know he's been a dick to her lately, but he is obviously not himself because of his father's death.  Committed partners don't run when their partner is in a bad place; they ride it out and provide support.  So, for that reason, Stella is right to get out - she wasn't all-in.

I watch a lot of TV and I have to say, Chicago Fire is the only show I truly hate watch!  I don't know why I keep torturing myself week after week with this garbage!  Anyway...

It took me a while to figure out that it was Casey's place that was on fire.  None of his neighbor's acknowledged him in the hallway when they were all leaving the building.  And I thought she said something about not being able to get out of the bedroom window.  Outside, she mentions that most of her notes and evidence had been destroyed due to the fire.  However, a few scenes later, she's on her computer getting the phone list.  Then later on, Casey told Severide she was staying at a hotel.  Weird.  Also, why didn't she call 911 while she was getting dressed?

I agree with everyone else about Matt's apartment not having smoke alarms and no egress window.  I would think as a fire captain, he would have noticed that/done something about it before he moved in.  Maybe Naomi should investigate that builder too.  So not only did Casey lose EVERYTHING, but then his one and done girlfriend has the audacity to remind him that it's just "stuff".  OMG! I would have punched her in the throat!  Then she announces she's leaving the country!  So basically, she drags Casey into this stupid trailer story - literally and figuratively, has his house burned down and then splits.

I like that Severide is going to bond with the kid over the boat.  However, I don't want it turned into a "Severide turns down the $15,000 boat job and has to teach the dad not to be a total douche to his kid."  The dad should probably throw some money at his girlfriend to buy a new dress because the one she was wearing was not working.

I don't find Severide jealous, and I really didn't think he was pushing Stella away.  He lost his dad and is grieving.  He reached out to Foster and when he tried to talk to Stella, she "helped" him by wanting him to hang out with her BFF?  Severide asked her to go to a hockey game, but she chose to hang out with Tyler instead?  I don't think Severide is spiraling, I think Stella is just a shitty girlfriend and I'm glad they aren't together anymore.

The Senior storyline was stupid.  Sylvie even said something to Boden about Lincoln Senior High School.  Why wouldn't he have corrected her and said it was a senior center.  And why would Mouch know, but not Hermann -  they've worked at the house together for years.  Even if Mouch was the only one that did know (besides Casey), why would he not say anything?
