SoMuchTV March 12 Share March 12 Okay, I was watching tonight (3/11/24) and there was a contestant who was returning due to a scoring issue. Anyone remember when they originally played or what the issue was? Link to comment

BuckeyeLou April 1 Share April 1 I was So Confused when Jared Leto walked out with Vanna! Then I remembered that it is April Fools Day, who knew that Jared is a fan of "Wheel"! :) 1 Link to comment

ByaNose June 7 Share June 7 I just watched the 2nd to last show for Pat. Vanna gave a very nice (taped) tribute at the end of the show. Pat was very teary and touched by it. He said he would have his final words on his last show on Friday. Over 40 years is incredible. I watched it when Chuck Worley and Susan Stafford hosted which was such a long time ago. Pat and Vanna (and, syndication) really made that show. I’m pretty it will be okay when Ryan Seacrest takes over but it won’t be the same. That said, I was glad he left Kelly and Ryan. Mark is so much better. Both Kelly and Mark are rich beyond belief but I do enjoy enjoy the show more since Ryan left. If I’m not mistaken Vanna is doing another 2 years so we have her retirement still to go through. 1 Link to comment
tomorrowgirl June 8 Share June 8 I will miss Pat. I thought he was a very good host. He was low key, but quick witted and personable. Just what a show like that needs. 2 2 Link to comment

I read somewhere a while back that Vanna took over when Pat was out for health reasons and that she bombed. Pat Sajak has his patter down cold. 1 Link to comment

But there are certain sites that pop up in my news that want to convince me that Pat (and Ken) have committed major offenses, nightly. 2 1 Link to comment

Rickster September 9 Share September 9 I don’t have an opinion on Seacrest yet, but I hate the new set. 4 Link to comment
Grizzly September 10 Share September 10 I miss Pat and his cue cards. At least Ryan seems enthusiastic. And I was surprised that he hugged a player. The set does seem a bit modern but generic. Guess they wanted it all to be new. Link to comment
ByaNose September 10 Share September 10 The show was a bit off (for me) from jump. The new set, the new individual boxes for the contestants and where Ryan stood during the bonus round. Not horrible but just way off for me. I’ve been watching since the Chuck Woolery days so I might be a hard sell for this new host. Also, Pat always had cue cards. Where is Pat getting his puzzle cues? Is memorizing them, is there a flat monitor where he is standing or is something off stage. Even on Idol he’s had cards. Now, he’s all hands & it’s all I was looking at. LOL!!! Maybe, I’ve aged out of the show at 60. LOL!!!! 4 Link to comment

I thought Ryan did better than expected for a first game, filling some still very beloved and enjoyable shoes. I kept wondering if the reason Vanna has another 2 years was more of them asking her than the other way around so they wouldn't lose the old regular viewers. 4 Link to comment
CriticalMass September 11 Share September 11 I had no opinion about Ryan Seacrest until he was on Watch What Happens live with Vanna. What an arrogant ass. Andy Cohen asked Vanna, NOT Ryan, what her favorite letters are. Ryan jumped in and mansplained that those were the freebies in the final puzzle. Vanna was right there, answering the question, she has years of experience with this game, sit down, shut up and listen to the veteran. 1 1 Link to comment
shapeshifter September 12 Share September 12 I generally only watch the last bit of Wheel before J!. I'm wondering if Ryan was in part chosen because of his voice's similarity to Pat Sajak's with regards to timbre and cadence, or is Ryan adjusting his voice to match Pat's? (I'm not that familiar with Seacrest.) Link to comment

Interesting perspective. If they had two new people, I would find it easier to drift away from the show, for sure. 1 1 Link to comment

It's so minimalistic and like you're about to be whisked away on a spaceship. They try to make it look like a wheel with spokes behind them but to me it looks like the a picture of the sun. I'm not bothered by Ryan Seacrest but he seems to be rushing through interviews and conversations with contestants compared to pat. Like he knows this one of hundreds of jobs of his and just rushing through it. On 9/11/2024 at 8:33 PM, shapeshifter said: I generally only watch the last bit of Wheel before J!. Rickster September 17 Share September 17 Interesting that the set looked very different last night (and better) with all the images in the background. My girlfriend is very annoyed by Ryan’s habit of putting his hand in his jacket/pants pocket. She thinks its too casual. 1 Link to comment

My brain still wants it to be “Teachers’ Week” but I guess this version is a little easier to justify. 1 Link to comment

ByaNose October 5 Share October 5 There was some mini tournament of championship this week. I think the Top 3 played on Friday or something. I pretty much only watch the 5 minutes of the show anymore so I’m (really) fuzzy by the whole thing. Anyway, the contestant guessed the puzzle correctly but there was some delay with the puzzle, Vanna and Ryan. Even I didn’t think he won. Ryan finally says YOU won. He didn’t show the envelope until a few seconds after that when the contestant was celebrating with his buddies. Ryan is horrible at the Bonus Round. I don’t know what the disconnect is by he isn’t picking up when the contestants win or lose and the envelope. Link to comment
Grizzly October 14 Share October 14 I don't like the look of Ryan wearing a polo shirt with his suit jacket. 1 Link to comment
storyskip October 17 Share October 17 I watched Wheel of Fortune back when contestants had to spend their “cash” on prizes. I have a lot of fond memories of that time, watching with my grandparents and most recently with my aging father. I guess I believed Pat and Vanna would be there till then end, but I accepted Pat’s decision to retire. I’ve tried to give Ryan the benefit of new host nerves, and for him to grow into the roll, but I just can’t. Maybe his style doesn’t jive with me, or maybe there were just too many changes at one time (host, set, etc) but Wheel of Fortune is no longer must see TV for me and my family. End of an era. I hope the people enjoying the new format, get to develop the same fond memories I have of the Pat and Vanna era. 1 Link to comment

I can’t put my finger on it either, but WOF has fallen off our must watch schedule over the past month. And it still follows our appointment TV of Jeopardy on the same channel! Sometimes we watch it but often we don’t. 1 Link to comment
DrSpaceman73 Saturday at 01:31 PM Share Saturday at 01:31 PM The woman last night telling the pig story. ..... Wtf? Most boring pointless thing I've ever heard on the show. A pig got out and knocked her down. The end. Link to comment
