Drinki for some reason almost spilled the truth about Dylan's departure to Noah, who is intrigued and wants to know more.  So many mentions of Noah being premature and almost dying that I think those are anvils for him dying.

I smell a paternity reveal on the horizon.  (To be fair, with Show I smell a good many things, but this scent is less fetid than most....)

So Noah falls down and bumps his lil' noggin - which is mostly just an empty space he uses to store his recyclables in - and he needs a brain transplant!  Mariah is tested, but no match.  Dummer isn't even tested - I mean, come ON, amiright??  Faith is too busy being fitted in her Baby Jane Hudson Chess Tournament ball gown to be tested, which leaves Daddy's latest bundle of joy, lil' SullyCan.  He is tested and comes up NOT A MATCH!  Bananas are peeled, poop is tossed, bosoms are heaved - mightily, I might add - after all this IS Chelsea we're talking about - and it's revealed that lil' SullyCan is of a higher step on the evolutionary ladder than dear old Dad - truth be out.

Oh yeah, Noah makes a full recovery AND makes 7 bucks and 15 cents on the bottles they pull out of his noggin.

All good.

Bannana, yum, braised beef short ribs.....how did they turn out?  Now I want to try those.

@boes, I was so relieved, the ribs turned out to be fantastic.  Canadian Chef  Michael Smith's recipe.

They could make a drinking game out of the all the mentions of Noah being premature on this episode.  Surprised they didn't put in a bunch of flashbacks instead, might have had more punch.  Wonder where they plan on going with this, especially with Noah now on to the fact there's more to Dylan leaving than what everyone thinks and him now being worried about Sharon & Nikki.

Nikki has a big mouth, Paul and Chris were thinking Sharon was going to be the secret leaker? Nope it's Nikki.

I enjoyed Mariah being in the conversation with Noah/Nikki and Noah/Reed. Makes her more feel like family instead of the outcast who looks like Cassie.

Chelsea sure got jealous fast during the premature conversation.

Didn't Noah have his spleen removed bacckintheday?  I forget the exact circumstances.  Anyhow, I agree with Boes.  There will be some kind of medical emergency requiring a (non-Abbott) transplant/blood transfusion/fecal implant  and CAN gets tested and, whoopsi! somehow that shows he's not Nick's.

Well, I don't know about all of you, but Sharon's Instant Finding a Purpose in Life did it for me. Believe that one at your own risk...

But, for all of you waiting to hear if JT has mastered the adverb yet, we have the answer. He answered some comment with "I am taking it serious." JT, you may not be too bright, but sonny boy, even the Alberta education system taught you better than that.

well, those of us who actually like the sharon character are rooting for her to finally be written differently than just being the cray cray it's all sharon's fault character....

He's from Alberta?!  I did not know that.  I am bigly embarrassed.

I thought I read somewhere,  maybe Sally's interview?, that the truth about Christian

Spoiler

doesn't come out for many years, if ever, but I agree, the anvils are falling about how similar Connor and Christian are, so maybe she changed her mind?  The other thing I recall is that she was possibly going to undo the Fenmore sisters, which would mean that Jill owns nothing of Fenmore's|?

Just now, pearlite said:

Yeah, he's from Edmonchuk. [Not my word, got that from Ukie-origin friends from Winterpeg.]

Well, that explains it! Although Nathan Fillion is I think also from Edmonchuk, but he is fabulous.

I only caught part of the episode today, but it seemed better.  A couple of things happened:

  • It's confirmed, Jack and Glo are doing the nasty.  Also, Michael sees Glo giving Jack a massage in his office.  Previews show him confronting Jack about it.
  • Everyone has told everyone about Jill's heart attack, followed by, keep it to yourself, Jill doesn't want anyone to know.
  • Speaking of secrets, Sharon tells Noah the truth about Dylan.  And Noah tells Sharon he's no longer seeing Marissa.  Remember her?
  • Scott has been kidnapped for a $10 million ransom.

I have decided I really don't like Lauren.  I don't like her hair, her dancing on the bar, her hooker clothes, her tone when she speaks to just about anyone except Michael and Phyllis.  She comes across as so fake.  I wanted to like this character especially when she and Michael got together but now I just want to FF her.  With Scott's disappearance, now we are subjected to her hystrionics.

They really are trying hard to reset with Sharon.  She is now officially moving on, running Crimson, having rational conversations with her son, getting along with Drinki.

I am liking the Jill and Colin storyline, because it is giving TR some story and a bit more depth.  Not sure where that will go though.

was sharon wearing her hair in a ponytail?  i just love it when she does..

i am happy she is back full time at crimson lights.  it gives her something to do with her time instead of just being in the cottage and all alone except for her memories..

maybe sally is giving me my old sharon back..slowly but surely goes the way or whatever the saying is.

i want the one who wasn't afraid to throw nick out of the house....the one who confronted him about his affair with phyl in that hotel room...the one who jumped out of a plane with nick one.. i want my sharon that had brains back. and if that is what's happening, i will be more than happy to start watching faithfully everyday again..right now, i'm at the fool me twice part and still can't quite get past it...hate when lucy pulls the old football out from under me.

I thought Sharon looked and sounded fantastic on today's CDN. The colours of her top and pants looked great together and her hairstyle was very becoming.

Guess we won't be seeing Marisa again. She and Noah broke up when she wanted to move to Spain to be closer to her little girl. Noah didn't want to leave his family behind.

LOL. For some reason, this remind me of ATWT when Emily Stewart managed to survive a literal cliff fall AND remained pregnant and everyone from her soon-to-be ex-husband to the kid's dad and all of his family along with his current girlfriend and I forgot who else all knew she was pregnant before she did because the fall knocked her ass out.

Good times. :)

speaking about Hair.... why does the show just stick ugly extensions in everyone's hair to dangle over their tits...titty hair... even lily had really cute short hair, but NOOOO she needed titty hair. Jill, Nikki, Lauren (the horror) every one but Chels, Mop and Glo get the T.H. - one ratty, mismatched wad of hair practically plastered over each tit.

I say this #stillnotwatching but I don't think Jack and Gloria are having sex. I think they are planning something outside Jabot ears and eyes but show wants to play with the hints of sex. It makes zero sex that they'd be having hidden romps. Why would Jack let himself be blackmailed that they are doing IT? He was blackmailed because she was claiming he sexually harassed her. This -- if it is sex -- would be presumably consensual. So if it is consensual sex, Jack would fire her as his receptionist because her claims of harassment are out the window now and who really cares if people know they are having sex (he already openly told Phyllis they were -- when they weren't -- to hide their actual business relationship). And I don't buy that SSM would write Jack at all into his much loathed ex-step mother. I also don't see her demeaning PB in a kinky sex thing with Judith Chapman (because they are not written to be falling for each other or having any respect whatsoever for the other). It's insulting to both actors to have them in such a campy slapstick story. Pratt might do that but not SSM (I think).

My guess is this is business related.

@miamama, I hope that you are correct.  I will rewatch that scene because it seemed that they both confirmed in their convo, but maybe watching it through another lens, it might be that the writers are playing us.

Yeah. I'd be curious about the word use. Show went out of their way to show us how both Jack and Glo - when sober - were disgusted with the thought of sex, including references to John. If they somehow leapt to desperatey needing to fuck, um, how?

Rendezvous (plural?)  in hotel rooms is a pretty good cover for conspiring. And there's some mileage to be gained in the humour/shock value.

I could be dead wrong - as I said I'm not watching and so am missing nuance. But it makes no sense. I mean why not show Jack and Gloria developing a relationship if that's where they're going? Two 60-somethings in a fuck buddy relationship after hating each other via stepmother/stepson relationship and all off-screen??? That is not Sally fixing character. That is 100% shock writing.

I think that this is a set-up period where there's a lot of scrambling, undo-those-messes rewriting [i.e., New and improved Sharon! Now with more self-respect!]. And the Gloria/Jack thing is more of a set-up to future possibilities, mostly corporate-intrigue style.

Yesterday's speculation for me, as I suffered through Lauren's carrying-on connected to "oops, something's wrong with our online dress-up thing," added to the presence of Phyllis, was that Ravi would get tied up in some way to the retrieval of Scotty from the evil machinations of whomever.

@miamama, Here's the dialogue between Jack and Glo, with Glo wanting to know what Michael is keeping from her re Lauren.

Glo: My son's been very curious about why you hired me.  He has this crazy notion I am blackmailing you.

Jack: All right I will tell you, but it doesn't leave this room.

Glo:  Of course not, this is a safe room, just like our hotel room.

Jack: Will you please stop acting like our regrettable one night stand is an ongoing affair.

Glo:  Your arithmetic is a little rusty, Jack;  the first night was when you got so drunk, then there was Valentine's Day, that makes two nights, which makes us colleagues with benefits.

Jack:  The regrettable part still holds.

Glo:  Also our policy of mutually assured destruction.

I'm going to agree to the conspiracy theory (because I cannot see GloJack as possible due to their past history).  If they were really having an affair or fuckbuddy relationship, it could take place at Jack's home to keep it a secret.  (Mrs. Martinez: "I saw nothing") Having it at the apparently only hotel in the great metropolis of GC insures that it will be discovered .  The shock value of the affair throws people off the scent of takeover, and a takeover makes sense in that Gloria is pissed with Lauren and Jack wants Fenmore. They may have gotten drunk enough to wind up next morning in the same bed, but these two are cagey and used that to further their plans by working together.

for us all.  But I still think Gloria is using Jack for bigger things than a receptionist job, Jack's using her to get over on Lauren and they both want Fenmore's.

The Ravi/Phyllis bonding continues apace, and I kind of like it. GT has lately undone most of my former complete intolerance of the Phyllis character--this is a nice change of pace for me, as I was phobic about MS and the role as she played it. And Ravi is doing the "cute as a bug's ear" thing to a T, complete with endearing family story. How long before something evil crawls out from under his hoodie?

Warning here: I will now present the unpleasant UO filling in this pleasant type-sandwich. I've got no problem with Jack and Gloria, whatever it's supposed to be. They're entertaining me, and I don't see it as outside the realm of possibility that people discover a fine line between loathing and lust--Liaisons Dangereuses?

Now back to the pleasant bread part of the sandwich: Nikki was quite wonderful as she cackled at Victoria over her prissiness about Reed's porn-viewing, reminding her of her own naughty escapades.

I'm with you pearlite. I'm enjoying the hell out of Glack. You know the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. The are such things as novelty fucks.

Ok.  I'll live with the novelty.  But I still think there is a deeper motivation for this mashup, re Fenmore's.

Just a couple of things from today:

  • Lauren and Mikey ask Jill for $10 million but of course she doesn't have it, so they go to Mikey's enemy Pricktor, instead of the other billionaire Devon.  More redemption of Prick.
  • Colin goes to the thrift shop to buy back his clothes, and he finds the music box. I don't remember how the music box story ended, but I do recall that Jill worked endlessly on trying to find a secret compartment, without success.  Colin found in a couple of tries and it holds a bank key.  Previews show that a mega-ring is in the safe deposit box.
  • Love 5

When Mikey was legal counsel for NE and Prick's personal attorney/hatchet man, Mikey did some deal that cost Prick one million dollars.  Prick fired him.  I think it was around the time that Prick threw Diane out of the ambulance, or maybe a little later.  That's when Mikey went back into private practice and eventually had an actual office with Easy Bake Oven.

  • Love 3

There was only a few note-worthy things that happened today.

Cane is leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow much to Lily's surprise. She shows him she's fine with it by getting naked.

Colin finds a bank key in the jewelry box Catherine left Jill. He goes to the bank deposit box and finds a letter written by Catherine to Jill, along with a somewhat tacky ring. The ring is apparently made of diamonds and a giant emerald and Colin has one of his guys come to appraise it. It's quite rare and looks like it can bring in a nice amount of money. Colin is such an ass.

Colin drops the letter for Jill in the mailbox at the Chancellor Estate where Esther proceeds to find it and shriek, almost giving Jill another heart attack. After some suspicion from Jill, and looking at some of Catherine's old letters, they both agree that the letter is from Mrs. C. Jill looks up at Catherine's portrait and asks the old fossil what she's up to. Oh, Jill.

Lauren is freaking out and is worried about Victor wanting to ensure that Scotty is alive before just giving up 10 million dollars. Per Victor, Lauren asks for a photo of Scotty as proof he's still alive and the kidnappers hang up causing her to freak out. A few minutes later, a picture of Scotty holding the day's newspaper comes in and Lauren is relieved. The kidnappers call back and Victor answers the phone and says they will now be dealing with him. Instead of wiring the money, he wants his men on the ground to make an exchange in person.

Victor and Michael go off to the office to get ready while Lauren and Nikki stay behind. Nikki confides in Lauren that a few years ago Victoria was kidnapped, thanks to Billy and his gambling debts, so she definitely understands how scared and worried Lauren must be. At Newman, Michael wants to know who the person making the exchange will be. Michael suspects it's Paul but it's actually Kevin. Michael isn't pleased and wants to go with Kevin but Kevin reminds Michael that he needs to stay behind as moral support for Lauren. Michael and Kevin hug and off Kevin goes to the middle east to save Scotty's life.
