MarkHB October 6, 2015 Author Share October 6, 2015 Between EW and now Fortune, I am not entirely convinced that Time Inc. is completely separated from TimeWarner. At the very least, they kept some sympathetic contacts in the marketing dept. Link to comment
Rick Kitchen October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 But apparently Eisenberg isn't playing Lex Luthor, son of Lionel Luthor, but Alexander Luthor, Jr. Link to comment
Trini October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 (edited) He's playing Lex Luthor. I don't think his father also being named Alexander makes him not Lex Luthor. (And wasn't Lionel invented for the TV show, anyway?) Edited October 6, 2015 by Trini Link to comment
Rick Kitchen October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 Well, the original father was name Jules. Link to comment
greenbean October 6, 2015 Share October 6, 2015 The movie doesn't come out for months, but Lex Luthor is now on Twitter, and Fortune has an article about him. :-D Even in the avatar, you can still see the dry lifeless horse hair of his wig. I have a feeling it will be a big distraction in the movie. 2 Link to comment
MarkHB October 6, 2015 Author Share October 6, 2015 Personally, I am not worried about the name. His father may be Jules, or Lionel, or Lex Sr. I think the "Lex Sr." thing is just a way to help it make sense for this young guy to be running a tech / heavy industrial / defense contractor company, and to the extent that it matters this Lex is the only "true" Lex in the DCEU. Besides, technically, when the first holder of the name dies stuff like "Jr." and dynastic numbers drop off, so with his father dead is name is Alexander Luthor, Lex for short. :) 1 Link to comment

lion10 October 10, 2015 Share October 10, 2015 I love Diana's cape, it looks so regal with the interlocking quilts. Kind of reminds me of Thor's armor with it looking like cloth and armor at the same time. It's a nice touch that Superman's costume has Kryptonian script. I didn't realize how huge Batman was going to be for this movie. Does anyone know if the rumor that Doomsday will be in the movie is true? Link to comment
MarkHB October 19, 2015 Author Share October 19, 2015 It seems that the LexCorp site was collecting email addresses yesterday, to sign up for info about Lex/OS. It has stopped doing so, though. Also, someone who worked for one of the VFX labs Instagrammed that they had wrapped it, and in the comments said that Doomsday is not in the film . The account has since been deleted. Link to comment

Trini November 29, 2015 Share November 29, 2015 Usually these types of "previews" on TV are just the trailer, so I'm skeptical if there will be any new footage shown. But maybe some behind-the-scenes stuff? On the other hand, with the CA: Civil War trailer out, and the new Star Wars TPTB may want to make sure no one forgets about this movie. On the other other hand, is 4 months too soon to start ramping up promotion, especially during the crowded holiday season? Link to comment

MarkHB December 1, 2015 Author Share December 1, 2015 Oh man, are they going to be angry the entire film? I think eventually Diana will wrap her lasso around them and make them be nice so the three of them can defeat whatever it is they really need to beat up. Link to comment
BatmanBeatles December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Why are they bowing to Superman? And why is he okay with that? I really hope that is a fantasy sequence. And what's up with the coat over Batman's suit? It makes me think of the 80's Ninja Turtles cartoon. 1 Link to comment
millennium December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Why are they bowing to Superman? And why is he okay with that? And what's up with the coat over Batman's suit? I'm guessing he was in a makeshift disguise, trying to pass as a soldier or whatever. I wouldn't mind at all if Batman killed the Henry Cavill Superman. Link to comment
lion10 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 (edited) Relax ya'll it's almost certainly a dream sequence where Batman dreams what a world with an out of control Superman would be like. I liked the sneak peek. That shot of Superman landing in the sand was awesome and the aesthetics of the cape look fantastic. Looking forward to the full trailer on Wednesday. Man Jimmy Kimmel is pretty lucky all these superhero franchises want to put on promos during his show. The costume Batman is in during the clip is labeled as his "knightmare batman" outfit. Joimiaroxeu December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 I wouldn't mind at all if Batman killed the Henry Cavill Superman. Me either. I think it's bad enough that Batman is going to be played by that no-acting pretty boy. But for Batman to be reduced to being made Superman's b*tch? Nope, the only way that all will work for me is if this Superman ends up having a fatal date with a few tons of Kryptonite. Bonus points if it happens courtesy of this Batman and then Batman gets blown to smithereens. Link to comment
lion10 December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 I don't get the hate for this incarnation of Superman. He saved 7 billion people by killing the last of his species and it was Zod that caused the vast majority of the damage during the Metropolis battle. 3 Link to comment
Bruinsfan December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 But he's not all kewllll being grimdark and dressing in black and talking in Patricia Neal's voice while beating up thugs. Clearly those things mean Batman should win a conflict with someone who can shrug off anti-tank artillery and fly around the entire planet in moments. I have plenty of problems with the Man of Steel movie and Snyder's approach to the franchise in general, but Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman was the best I've seen since Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner collaborated. 5 Link to comment

questionfear December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 I just want to know why Superman looks so constipated. Is he mad that Batman hid the Pepto-Bismol away from the Justice League bathroom? 4 Link to comment
tennisgurl December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 (edited) I have plenty of problems with the Man of Steel movie and Snyder's approach to the franchise in general, but Henry Cavill's portrayal of Superman was the best I've seen since Christopher Reeve and Richard Donner collaborated. I totally agree. I have a TON of issues with Man of Steel, and the tone of the DCU in general (I know its early in its inception, but holy crap, lighten UP! Its a Superman movie! If the MCU can have Daredevil coexisting with Howard the Duck, you can vary with tones a little bit too) but I think Henry Cavill is a great Superman, who did as much as he could with what he was given. I was legitimately excited to hear they were doing more movies with him, because I wanted to see what he could do in a non-origin story, where he could show Clark/Supermans personality more. But now, it just looks like we are getting more DARKNESS! NO PARENTS! MY DAD WAS POINTLESSLY SUCKED INTO A TWISTER! Maybe next movie? Edited December 1, 2015 by tennisgurl 9 Link to comment

Joe December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Superman storms in, rips off Batman's mask. Superman: Wait, Bruce Wayne? Damnit! I owe Lois fifty bucks now. Uh, sorry about the chains. Say, I have a pot of coffee brewing upstairs. Name's Clark Kent, by the way. Batman: Yeah, I could do with cup of coffee. But what's with the bowing guys? Superman: I don't know, but every time I try and stop them, they get really depressed. Easier to let them continue, I suppose. 4 Link to comment
Kromm December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 Wow my eyes were rolling at that clip so hard I got a Super-headache. If that's some kind of fantasy sequence it's still...stupid. I mean what would it even SAY about Batfleck if this is what he has nightmares about. Having his mask pulled off rather than having his spine pulled out of his body? Riiiiiight. But apparently Eisenberg isn't playing Lex Luthor, son of Lionel Luthor, but Alexander Luthor, Jr. I wonder why it's really supposed to matter? Lex Luthor is Lex Luthor, no matter which backstory is used. 1 Link to comment
Bruinsfan December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 Yeah, unless they introduce the parallel earths concept and reveal that he's actually Alexander Luthor from Earth-3, I don't see his father's given name is being a major concern. Evil tycoon named Luthor who becomes Superman's nemesis is the core of the character. Link to comment

lion10 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) The editing on this trailer is a little off to me but it's good to see some humor finally. I'm still not sure on Jesse's portrayal of Lex though. I like it on some ways and don't at other times. It's very millennial Silicon Valley-ish for lack of a better word. I'm glad Superman has lines but I feel like they gave away too much of the plot with Doomsday being there and us seeing the outcome of Batman v Superman. Edit: It's so great that we can see the Avengers and the Justice League with great actors on the big screen. Never been a better time to be a fan of comics. Kromm December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) Annoying way to introduce Wonder Woman. I'm already seething at how shallow and dumb it seems. I think we knew Luthor was the big bad, unless you mean the ehem... person... Wonder Woman shoots at (and since when does she SHOOT anything?). That villain's identity I think we still have to guess at (based on Superman mythos) because the appearance has clearly been tweaked. EDIT - Okay, never mind pussyfooting around the name since lion10 said it. It seems like it's SUPPOSED to be Doomsday, in this scenario clearly genetically engineered by Luthor, but they kind of made him look like a walking pile of poo (and already reveal that he's hardly gonna kill Superman). Trini December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Well, I thought they would have waited a little longer to release that. I was fine with keeping the 'real' villain a mystery. Thanks for the warning MarkHB. 1 Link to comment
scarynikki12 December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 For a second I though that was Clayface and was confused because I can't imagine him ever being the Big Bad of any DC movie (much less one that has Bats, Supes, and Wonder Woman). A helper, sure, but not THE Baddie. Link to comment

A helper, sure, but not THE Baddie. Even the character that ACTUALLY is isn't the big baddie. When you have a character who's a genetic creation of another character and sent out as a weapon, I don't think he/it counts as the big baddie. He's the big FIGHT of the movie, sure, but that's different. 1 Link to comment

tennisgurl December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Honestly, Jessie Isenburg was more intimidating as Mark Zuckerburg than as Lex Luther. I will say, I am more excited for this movie after seeing the trailer. Wonder Woman looks awesome, albeit kind of randomly placed. It was still really cool to see the shot of WW Batman and Superman all standing together. Link to comment

MarkHB December 3, 2015 Author Share December 3, 2015 Don't judge Lex based on that scene with Clark and Bruce (and I love that Bruce looks like he really doesn't want to touch him when he goes to shake hands). That's not the real Lex; no one ever gets to see the real Lex. That's his BS facade for public consumption. 2 Link to comment
