Anything on The Walking Dead? —Jim
Not only does Sunday’s “Warlords” (9/8c on AMC) feature a guest-star turn by Michael Biehn of The Terminator and Aliens fame, it introduces a new heavy whose viciousness is matched only by their efficiency — and who may ultimately make Lance look like Mr. Nice Guy by comparison.

It appears to me that the TV show is going to make the Commonwealth a more villainous place than it was in the comics.  In the comics, the place had its problems that needed fixing, but on the TV show it looks like there is some real sinister stuff going on.  Most of that seems to be coming from Lance Hornsby.

Yeah, I'm early guessing a trial with Yumiko prosecuting Hornsby and the ridiculous son, with Mercer surprise testifying against them. Without Carl, is it Judith leading the Commonwealth into the future?

This could all change based on whatever direction they go.

Are there any spoilers about Rick or Michonne coming back for the finale?  I know there was a picture of Norman and Andrew out to dinner in Atlanta so I assume there will be something.

I haven't even heard a rumor about it. I have noticed that while there is a lot of talk about various sequels & spin-offs, there has been no chatter about the famous Rick movies lately.

True. I did wonder what happened to those movies. I'm also wondering if the spinoffs are fakes and everyone dies in the end 😂

I don't know Maggie and Negan take NY just sounds like a foiler 😂

Leah is the reason they were after Maggie? Did we know that and I forgot it?

Are we going to find out Maggie pulled a Nagan? They've definitely drawn parallels between the two.

With all the Rick Grimes movies seemingly in limbo, what’re the odds of Rick or Michonne showing up in the final episodes of The Walking Dead? –Andrew
Our resident Walking Dead expert Charlie Mason guesstimates that the chances are in the realm of… slim to none; rather, the duo seem likelier to show up on one of the spinoffs, to offer a jolt. However, this Sunday’s penultimate Season 11B episode of the AMC drama does include a throwback to something, if not someone, that will give fans a charge, especially if they are ‘shippers of a certain former couple.

“The Walking Dead's "Six Months Later" Time Jump Explained”

Warning: this story contains spoilers for Sunday's "Trust" episode of The Walking Dead. When The Walking Dead suddenly skipped six months into the future to start Part 2 of the Final Season, it looked like Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) were at odds. "It doesn't have to be this way," Maggie warned Daryl, dressed in white trooper armor as he marched on the Hilltop gates with the might of the Commonwealth military. "Yeah," Trooper Dixon told Leader Rhee with orders to open up. "Yeah, it does." War was brewing — not between old friends Daryl and Maggie, but Hilltop versus Commonwealth.

Six episodes and six time jumps later, the action catches up to the flash-forward when Commonwealth Deputy Governor Lance Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) arrives at Hilltop searching for the tenants of the Riverbend apartment complex. Hornsby believes the Riverbenders hijacked a shipment of Commonwealth weapons, using the stolen guns in the firefight that killed Toby Carlson (Jason Butler Harner) and his Commonwealth commandos at Riverbend.

Suspecting Hilltop is harboring fugitives, Hornsby's hunt for the thieving killers brings a squad of troopers to Maggie's gate. When Maggie refuses to let the armored soldiers inside her walls, Daryl convinces Hornsby to let him talk to Maggie so there's no bloodshed: "We go in, nobody gets hurt."

Telling her the troopers won't leave until Hornsby looks around, Daryl promises a quick search. "You expect me to trust him?" Maggie asks. Daryl answers, "I ain't asking you to trust him. I'm asking you to trust me."

By the end of the episode, Hornsby learns who attacked the convoy and stole the weapons: Leah (Lynn Collins), out for revenge against Maggie after the deaths of the Reapers at Meridian.

In the mid-season finale, "Acts of God," Hornsby and Leah are gunning for Maggie and the Hilltoppers as Maggie sets out to finish her fight to the death with the Reapers. "Acts of God" premieres Sunday, April 10 on AMC.

Judith is living with the Commonwealth and so is Daryl, I’m sure they must be meeting up regularly, why’s he got the gun? Who knows but I’d say they’ve probably got rules about children walking around with weapons.

I thought Daryl lived with Judith and RJ as a family; he took the storm trooper position to support and protect them. Rosita joined up for Coco's sake, too. Or did that all change?

The Walking Dead: First Final Episodes Reactions Are In

The first reviews are in for the last episodes of The Walking Dead. AMC Networks released episodes 1117 (titled "Lockdown") and 1118 (titled "A New Deal") to press and TV critics, previewing the midseason premiere airing Sunday, October 2 at 9 pm ET/8c on AMC. (Both episodes will stream together as a two-episode premiere that same night on AMC+.) First reactions are mostly positive — praising the cast of characters and an epic scope and scale — but criticize a lack of feeling of finality with just eight episodes until the end.

Read ComicBook's full review and excerpts from other early reviews:

ComicBook.com: "While 'Lockdown' is no 'No Way Out' — the epic, explosive midseason premiere that launched the second half of Season 6 with all of Alexandria fending off an invading walker horde — the Greg Nicotero-directed episode is intense and compelling, a thrill ride from start to finish."

GameSpot: "Through two-thirds of its elongated final season, The Walking Dead hasn't really felt like it's coming to a close. Sure, the surviving heroes have once again been facing down extinction at the hands of a seemingly insurmountable threat, but the feud between them and the Commonwealth hasn't felt any more dramatic than past conflicts with the Saviors, the Whisperers, the Governor, and so on. Now with just eight episodes to go, I've been eager to get to the part of the season that illustrates this drama as the true last act of the show. After watching the first two episodes of season 11C, I'm still left waiting for the train to feel like it's pulling into the station. I think the issue stems from AMC's plans for a much grander Walking Dead universe — it's even marketed as the Marvel-like 'TWDU.'"

Insider: "I'm fearful that certain stories will get skipped over and truncated in service of setting up the show's three future spinoffs featuring Daryl, Maggie, Negan, and the long-awaited return of Rick and Michonne. These next two episodes of TWD don't feel like the start of the end. They simply feel like mid-season episodes."

WhatToWatch: "What we can say is that these two episodes exemplify everything we love about The Walking Dead, including lots of walkers, explosive kills and tons of blood, guts and gore. Team Family comes together yet again to fight the true evildoers of the apocalypse: other people who would exploit others for their own gain. And if you're wondering about whether or not you'll see your favorite characters, based on the first two episodes we can safely say that yes, yes you will."

AMC describes The Walking Dead's final episodes: "On the heels of the oppressive presence of locusts, an even greater force is bearing down on every single member of each community. With Commonwealth flags raised at Hilltop, Alexandria, and Oceanside, there's no time to strategize for those on the road. It's a race against the clock to stay alive and extract those still living in the Commonwealth before Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) can execute his revenge. Inside the Commonwealth, Connie's (Lauren Ridloff) article has created more chaos than planned. By exposing Governor Milton's (Laila Robbins) corruption, their hope to create a better, more equal, life for all may instead put everyone at risk. With the vast debt our group owes and no other viable place to live, simply leaving has never been an option. But if their next move fails, staying won't be an option either.

"What they're about to embark on will only invite more danger with massive consequences. The clock is ticking for our heroes inside the Commonwealth as well. As each group continues to get caught in uncontrollable situations, threats lurk around every corner, dead and alive. The looming pressure is cresting towards a day of reckoning for all. Will the sum of their individual journeys cumulate into one, or divide them forever? The fight for a future continues to be exasperated by the ominous population of walkers. Not all will survive, but for some, the walking dead lives on."

So it looks like by episode 19 they will have brought the after credit scene from TWD:WB Finale into this show. Guess those of us who speculated that the Primrose team was in Commonwealth were right.

I am speculating.   I am betting Negan's wife is dead by the end of the season.  I don't see the new spin off having a pregnant woman at the start or a baby.   That is a long way to travel.   I don't plan on watching any of the new spin offs and I don't watch any of the ones now.  I lighted Fear after Morgan came on but then it got worse.

I'm inclined to agree, but maybe after the baby is born? This show is long past the time when they would kill children.

I just read an article about Daryl's show being in France.  He says he gets there against his will or something like that.  How stupid.  IMO  Carol isn't going to be in it as she didn't want to move to Europe.

I just wonder what they can come up with to make the last two something special, is anyone going to die? Does anyone actually care knowing what we do about the future shows?

I do care about the secondary characters. I've got a death list going, but I keep revamping it. I feel that Aaron is a goner, as is Lydia. Elijah (who?) dead. Magda is a real possibility. as is Connie. Either Rosita or Gabe, but I'm thinking most probably Gabe.

I worry about Carol. I think they might kill her for a big emotional punch in the gut now that the Caryl spin-off was torpedoed. All that nonsense about suddenly going to Europe being the reason she won't be going forward. Pffftht.

I don't know - someone has to look after Judith and RJ, unless we get a surprise Rick/Michonne appearance during the finale.  Daryl's off to Europe or wherever.

I guess there's Aaron or Rosita.  My guess is that we don't lose anyone.  I think the show will go out on a happy note; for this show, anyway.

Also, what about Hershel? There haven't been any signs of him in the Maggie spinoff previews.  Maybe the kids will start their own colony somewhere 😁

Okay, I'm really scratching my head here. Who is Magda?

I really hope Gabriel doesn't die. Honestly, I'd rather it be Rosita, if they have to kill anyone, but, if I had my druthers, they'd not kill anyone else in our core group. (For me, the core group is Daryl, Carol, Rosita, Eugene, Ezekiel, Aaron, and Gabriel. Eh, they can kill Judith if they want to.)

I'm wondering if the Maggie spinoff is set up for her and what's-his-name to go after her kidnapped son and what's-her-name.

I'm getting that feeling. Like 5 episodes of "I gotta find my family!!" and one finding them.

Magna. Yumiko's ex. Pretty much a useless character, tbh, although I like looking at the actress.
