Adoption is hard, I imagine. Never dealt with it from either end myself. I think the openness of this one is a double edged sword. Sure, it's nice to know how Carly is doing, but being so connected, but not connected enough, is tearing Cate apart. I think that girl has some massive issues stemming from the adoption that she has never truly dealt with. I think if they would have navigated post-adoption life sans TV, things may have turned out very differently for them.

I'd feel gross sharing that card. It's still screwing with Carly's privacy, but it would also be incredibly precious and private to me. So a bunch of fucked up loser followers see it and say how great they are. What is that worth? Zilch.

Too bad they're not going to Mexico. I could so see these dummies with Carly sombreros and a piñata to make magic child give candy to whatshername.

Taylor figured out how to say "beer" in Spanish. Um...isn't he from Texas? Texas borders on Mexico. Pretty sure Taylor's first word when he was a baby was "cerveza."

A lot of people in Puerto Rico understand English even if they don't speak it. Especially if they work at Burger King. Stupid ass, ignorant, trailer park trash.

Of course, Cate is eating burgers in Puerto Rico.

So she's going all Jim Bob Duggar and just adding an O to all words and calling it Spanish. That's just beautiful. Amazing culture and food, and these greasy Americans need a greasy American franchise. It looks like she's just applying the hamburger grease straight to her hair these days. Skip the middle man.

And the sober Amber and Matt are partying it up in a bar. Imagine explaining to locals why you are famous and what the hell you are doing?

I won't lie, though.  As a born & bred Boston girl, I got tremendously excited when I saw my beloved Dunkin Donuts in Puerto Rico, and made the whole family stop the car so I could get my fix!!!

Dumb ass is also international.  I hate ugly Americans.  These folks should stay in their trailer park.

I can't agree with this any harder. I'm happy to try to trot out any of the other languages I've tried to learn, and I find that the citizens are much nicer and more understanding of the barrier when you at least try. My company has offices in France, so when you go to France, people are always like "Oh, they hate americans there." No, what they hate is you getting into a restaurant, and expecting the waiter to speak English, then looking aggravated that they don't.

lol I'd stop there too if I was traveling. The closest DD around me is 40 minutes away.

Cate looks like she is ready to take a shit in the pool.

That is likely the most water she has touched since Hawaii.

People who who have no interest in learning or broadening their horizons. People who go on vacation just to drink and party and care nothing about culture. People who probably watch American TV in their hotel all day until the bars open.

It makes me sick. Not everyone is able to travel. I am 37 years old and the last vacation I took was probably 5-6 years ago. And that was within country. I've never been outside of the country and I've always been so furious with those who are able to travel internationally and do not soak up all the culture and education that they can.

I'm finally living my dream of going to Ireland, this April. I can guarantee I will not be eating anywhere but authentic Irish pubs, cafes, etc. I certainly won't be drunk the entire time. How would I remember what I saw and learned????

are you going to get kicked out of a department store, mock all of the Irish accents and scare the shit out of passers-by asking them if they are your relatives?

Is she peeing in her skintight capris (because those looks super comfy in a hot climate)? How are they surviving without Boogietown? Just getting drunk first thing in the morning, I guess

Interesting to see very few pics of Amber, the selfie queen. The real deal is not so pretty, and it looks like all cameras are warned to avoid her jawline.

Yea, and I'll visit a the Bailey's farm and act like milking a cow is the equivalent of watching porn with my son. Then I will inappropriately heckle a traditional Irish dancer and say, "Top of the morning to you!" to every person I meet. I'll also refuse to eat potatoes, because carbs.

NOT.

Maybe the lighting is bad in Puerto Rico. Maybe she got into a drunken bar fight the first night and is secretly locked away in Puerto Rican jail? Maybe a couch finally ate her?

Huh? I'm from Boston and had to live in Puerto Rico for a job and couldn't find dunkies ANYWHERE! Not until I got on JetBlue did I get a cup of home. Lucky bitch. ?

They will blame Kail, but I bet Matt not being able to go also meant Amber wasn't allowed to go as well.

Cate is drinking away with no cares in the world. No depression. No anxiety attacks. It's a miracle!!! These Teen Broads have had so many miracles as a group. Kail and Maci have miracle babies. Leah no longer has narcolepsy. It suddenly stopped. Cate is cured from being lethargic, lazy, depressed, and anxiety-ridden.

Lying heifers.

That's MY Dream vaca!!!! I'm 35 and the furthest I've been was Puerto Rico for a job for 6-months.

I just bought my first new canon camera preparing for the day I can take AMAZING PICTURES of IRELAND and all of its green beauty!!!!

Of course that dream vaca is probably a few years away but it's never too early to start practicing with my camera. Oh you got me feeling like a kid writing this. I wanna go. ??

You Betta BELIEVE the last thing I want in Ireland is a Burger King if they have one. I want their local cuisines.

Look, I try to be as open as possible when visiting other countries and definitely make sure to try authentic local cuisine. Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, all for work...but before you get all hopped up for Irish cuisine, ask yourself: ever seen an Irish RESTAURANT? Not a pub, which I wholeheartedly endorse, but an actual restaurant. I never have, and I live in NJ. We have an Ethiopian place, for goodness sake, it's not like we don't have resaturants. I'm just pointing it out, the Irish, and UK in general, are not renowned for their culinary arts :). I imagine most things are basically ground up organs of a sheep stuffed into an intestine of same animal. Proceed with caution :)

Is that why their ales are so strong?...or maybe it's because the ales are so strong?

Haha! I'm Irish so I've had a few good dishes made by my mother but you're right I won't be dining on a lot of fine cuisine but no BK for me. Maaaaybe looking for a good Shepard pie.

Actually, I was just reading an article on the cuisine in Ireland and they have really stepped up with the times. Apparently you can find a lot of fine dining, if that's your thing. There are lots of cafes that serve delicious breads and pastries along with the traditional tea. As for authentic food, I read they make a lot of great soups and stews. And the coastal cities do seafood upright. I realize the point being made, but I am very excited to try Irish fare! I'm a meat and potatoes gal anyhow, so I think it will be right up my alley.

Sorry, Cate and Tyler, you're so lame we've derailed into talking about Ireland. :P

Quick poll for the parents here: how many vacations did you take without your kids for the first 8 years of their lives?  Of course I'm not saying parents can never go away without their kids but these people go on multiple vacations a year without their kids. It's excessive.  Or is it just me?!

My baby is only 9 months old and I was about to finish that sentence with "so of course I haven't been on a vacation without him yet he's still a tiny baby" but then I remembered my son is the same age as Maverick.  Who volunteers to watch all these infants?  (I'm also thinking of Jenelle who has left her newborn to go to California). Who babysits?!

Answer: my oldest is 10, and the number is 0. It just doesn't make sense, and it makes less sense once they can recognize that you're not there, for us. I'm not saying you can't go away on your own, but I don't know, I think right now, I'd feel weird about doing so. I think when they're like 15, 16, 17, might be a little easier to do so.

My oldest is 8.5. My other two are 7 and 5. I have not been on a vacation since my youngest was 1. And it was a camping vacation just a few hours south of us; she came with us and the boys stayed with Nannie (grandma, not a paid nanny!)

I have not been on a kid free vacation since I was pregnant with her and that is the ONLY child-free vacation I have had since having kids. It was also an outdoorsy trip not too far from home.

So....this trip to Ireland that I'm taking in April is only the second kid-free vacation I've had since becoming a mother, and the only I've taken in the last 5 years.

Honestly, I feel selfish and remorseful about it every day. It was my husband's idea. He was out of town A LOT this summer and one day he confessed how impressed he was with how I'd held down the fort while he was gone, not only with the kids but taking over his yard duties and everything. He told me the tax money this year was to send my mother and me to Ireland. I was super excited at first, but now I feel like this is something that should have waited until the kids were grown (not sure mom would make it, though).

So anyhow, yea, vacations aren't a regular thing for us. We're a one income family and money is usually put into paying off the small debts we take on, or fixing up the house or our cabin. I am really not sure how I'm going to feel being away from my kids for that long. A break is nice, but I will miss them! I can't imagine being away from them so many times throughout the year. I think these girls (looking at you, Cate) are so used to passing off their kids on a regular basis, that doing so for vacation is probably no big deal to them.

no way!  you go & enjoy yourself and your time with Mom!  that's fantastic!  Your kids will enjoy being w/dad, and  you'll all miss eachother &  kind of all appreciate eachother more once you get back into your routine.

Definitely a great idea!!!
