Remy and Nova act on their feelings; Ralph Angel bonds with his boss' daughter; David discloses his secret to Charlie; Micah and his friends stumble upon something disturbing; and Darla and Ralph Angel clarify their relationship.

Unless "Remy and Nova act on their feelings" means they decide they are acting like fools and need to walk away from each other, I will not be amused.

Yikes Miss Vi, don’t be a bitch to Darla, but then again, that’s Vi.

Nova is going to hook up with her sister’s ex, what a bitch.

Davis, bitch number three.  He should have told Charley about his daughter and let her tell Micah.

Typical, Charley’s selfish, asshole family aren’t there for her.o

Ugh, I hate Nova, she’s boring and self righteous.

Since Nova has no qualms about taking her sister's sloppy seconds, she needs to hook up with Davis next because both of them ain't shit. How thirsty do you have to be? Does she realize that she doesn't have to be romantically involved with every man that's kind to her? Sheesh.

Oh, btw Nova, don't spend that book deal money too fast....Charley needs her 10 thousand back, please and thank you.

Fuck all of them for ignoring Charley's call. I hope Charley puts them all on block and delete next time they need a favor.

Vi is too old for that nonsense with Darla. Hollywood, too.

With the growing absence of Keke and more of the woke group, I see a breakup coming. So, Ant is gonna educate Charley on regular milk vs Almond milk? He needs to read more. Ant also has a lot of anger in him. He’s gonna be trouble and probably not the best influence on Micah.

I’m not sure about the parole guy. I hope he doesn’t turn into the guest that won’t leave or bring trouble to the farm.

The selfishness of this family is insane. The whole day and no one returns Charley’s call? I don’t get Micah. He leaves his mother alone knowing the reason for his Dad showing up and when she contacts him he blows her off, too? It’s sad because I think the family looks at Charley as the one who is the most together and can handle anything but those people sometimes tend to be the most alone or they have no one to turn to when they need someone. I'm glad Charley didn't sleep with Jacob. I'm already suspicious of him and him shutting down those group of men in front of Charley makes me even more suspicious. Wish she had called Romero.

Nova and Remy. Saw it coming since last season finale. Ugh then and ugh now. I know everyone’s gonna jump on Nova and I am, too, but what about Remy? Seems he’s been trying to get in that family for a while. Last season he mentioned being interested in Vi but being scared of her. It didn’t work out with Charley and now he’s going for it with Nova. He’s slimy, too.

Next week’s tease is concerning

Yeah, it's hard being the strong one. Been there. Charley even said something like that last season, that she wanted someone to stand up for her, and her family pretty consistently fails at that.

What happened to the cute doctor or nurse? Call him, Charley!

I cracked up when Blue whispered "I'm not eating it" when Hollywood made that face at the healthy food. It's sad for Blue that his parents aren't together.

I just think it's so unnecessarily messy to date your friend or family member's ex. I know they're in a small town so maybe there aren't many options, but REALLY Nova and Remy? And I agree that Remy seems to have his sights set on the Bordelons.

I actually thought Almond Milk Kid was pretty rude. Charley bought the groceries, she can drink what she likes. I'm also concerned that Micah is going to get in over his head with the activism.

Davis. Ain't. Shit. Charley was great in that scene. Her face went from "What else is new?" when he said he'd had an affair to "Holy SHIT" so subtly. I didn't realize he was moving back to LA - I wonder if Micah feels abandoned?

I already can't stand Remy so I wouldn't be surprised if he is trying to "marry in" to get a stake of the land. He clearly indicated to Charley that he intended for marriage to be in the cards at some point in their relationship.

Nova, as Charley's damn sister, should have some sense and respect for her sister and keep Remy at bay. I can't believe she actually initiated that damn kiss. Since Vi loves to take RA/Nova's side over Charley consistently, I can't wait to see how she spins this one.

Vi can be petty all she wants, but it was wrong to act like that in front of Blue. How hard would it have been to extend a fake "Hi Darla, how are you?" for his sake?Great example of showing him how to deal with people you don't like in a mature way, Vi.

I love it here. The only other people I talk to about this show (co-workers) seem to think Charley is a terrible snob and deserves every bit of contempt from her family that she gets, and I get more wound up about it every week! I can't wait to see how Nova somehow gets sanctimonious about this with Charley, whose ex she was hooking up with while poor Charley cried on a dance floor with Mr Sketchy because she couldn't find anyone else to be there for her.

Also in total agreement with everyone about Vi. She doesn't have to make peace with Darla, but show basic civility in front of Blue. It's the bare minimum. In other news, I hope Ralph Angel's new possible relationship helps him grow up a bit.

Micah doesn't understand being a child of a celebrity he really needs to be more careful with the company he keeps. Rudeness come natural with Almond Milk kid. I think he was same kid who sat on top of the cafeteria table in a previous episode and was annoyed he was told to sit in a chair.

Help me remember but wasn't Davis gonna play for the basketball team in the area to be closer to Micah? I thought he was leaving the L.A. team.

I took notice of Charley saying "our city" to Davis. To me, I felt while Charley would be understandably pissed and hurt at Davis having a child while they were married, to do it in their city took it to another level. Really shows the boldness and shittiness of Davis to have a child in L.A. when players usually have children and side pieces in other cities.

Vi: Well, Charley you let Remy go. He's free to date whomever he wants. If it's your sister, be mad at yourself for letting a good man go. Don't be mad at your sister for recognizing a good man and reeling him in.

Why do they think Charley is a snob? I could be forgetting specific scenes but I haven't seen that from Charley. A real snob to me would've left after Ernest funeral.

Nova may respond the same way she did when Charley called her out about the 10k.

I get that the Bordelons are upset, but they should at least try to show some civility to Darla - not just for Blue's sake, but because Darla is Blue's sole bio parent and her parents appeared to have a few coins for a lawyer (although Charley would probably pay for one to help RA). It seems to me that she has the upper hand where Blue is concerned, so Vi should at LEAST be cordial. Darla could take Blue back to wherever she's from if she wanted.

I will never forget this, even if the show does. I thought it when she was meeting with the publisher - "Well, $10K of that six-figure deal is spoken for, so." If I were Charley, instead of "hello" as a greeting Nova would get "Where's my money?"

Poor Charley, this too shall pass. I don't see she and Jacob going beyond that kiss. Nova and Remy ,maybe , because Nova is know to satisfy her whims.

Aunt Vi, sometimes I can't stand her. She's too mean spirited, that was very rude: Hollywood could have acted like a man and said hello to Darla.

It was Hollywood that convinced VI to accept Darla before.

I hope Micah doesn't get himself in trouble with that group of kids.

RA is looking in another direction now, I can see Blue not accepting this at all. I hope RA new roommate does not cause drama for him.

I noticed the look of admiration RA had when witnessing the Vietnamese family getting along so well and being happy together. He doesn't get that in the Bordelon family. Their family dinners all end in fights.

Micah's new group of friends:

I admire their passion, but their methods are just wrong. Yes, Ant was rude to Charley, but he wasn't wrong about the environmental impact of the almonds. He made a good point about the 250-year old chair being built by his ancestors, but he was way too "ready" for someone to say something to him about it. Constantly provoking confrontation is someday going to be responded to in kind (or worse), and those children will be in way over their heads.

No he wasn't wrong but he wasn't voicing cons of regular milk like hormones and pesticides in regular milk and treatment of cows in dairy facilities. He made his argument because he wanted a certain of type milk. He didn't like Charley had organic food in the house. If he could've made an argument over organic food vs junk food (I assume) he wanted to eat he would've.

I admit it irk me he was raiding the kitchen like he lived there and tried to tell Charley what she should buy. It's not his home or money and he's a guest. Unless he's gonna be a regular guest where he could make a suggestion and he has a food allergy he needs to accept what food is offered to him or eat when he goes home.

Yeah, I just thought he, a kid, had no business lecturing Charley, an adult, about the kind of milk (or any food!) she buys for her house with her money. It's rude as hell, IMO. I would be mortified if I found out my kid had done that.

I hope Remy really heard what Nova said about previous lovers trying to change her. He always thinks he knows best and that's largely what killed his relationship with Charley. That said, I still don't want to see them together. The Bordelons have enough family drama.

Other than for plot contrivance why does Davis have to move back to LA raise his daughter? He's basically abandoning one child for another. Not that any better should be expected from him.

A crime scene. That's about right, IMO.

I hope Charley knows what she's doing with Jacob. I have a feeling both of their families are going be trouble if they actually start dating.

I think he's starting to catch real feelings for her.

I have yet to be convinced and still think it's a "forbidden fruit" thing with him.

I’m with you both. Kid or adult, he was in someone else’s home and should have just kept his trap shut. This house has almond milk- eat it or go home and have whatever you prefer there. My larger point was how he always seems to be angling for a fight, even when he’s not wrong, but especially when he is (Like the incident in the school cafeteria).

I agree that he's abandoning Micah for her, but her mom just died. That in itself is a monumental change. It seems unfair to uproot from her home and friends on top of that, if he doesn't have to. It's not ideal, but Micah's older, has more family, and is going away to college soon. I wonder if the daughter has other family she could go to.

I'm not sure what to make of Jacob and Charley, Real or not, I don't think Jacob's feelings for her really matter if she doesn't reciprocate them. So far, it seems that she doesn't. I kinda wish she had called Romero, but then again a first date isn't the ideal place to have an emotional breakdown.

I agree but he was a zillion percent correct about the chair.  He got pissed off because those white folks were walking around dressed in Civil War type outfits and didn't think anything was wrong with that.  Slavery built plantations like that, so fuck them.

The thing about Remy is that I'm certain he'd have no problem lecturing someone against dating their ex's sibling.

I thought so too. Like, this kid is rummaging around in Charlies fridge, eating her food and trying to drink her milk, and he gets all smug and judgy about freaking milk? He wasn't even nice about it, he had that "I know everything about everything and everyone who isnt as Woke as me is an idiot" voice that I've heard on plenty of kids. And I dont really see how just hanging out at some living history plantation is really a very good protest. That place was super creepy, yes, and they should be called out on romanticizing such an ugly piece of history, but the whole thing was just to to sit their until they could be snippy with some guy who works there? There had to have been something better they could have done.

Is it that surprising that Nova is cool with hooking up with her sisters ex, after she was fine with being a cops mistress for ages? She should have stuck with the glasses guy from last season, if she HAD to be with someone. And Remy is showing himself to less and less of the home spun nice dude he tries to be. He does good things for the community, but he is a mess when it comes to interpersonal stuff. Not looking forward to the whole family instantly taking Novas side in all of this, because Charlie is always wrong, and Nova is always right to them.

Speaking of, poor, poor Charlie. No one can even bother to take her call while she cries about what a dirty dog her ex is. I just want good things for her damn it!

I don't think that's true.  Darla has been in jail and strung out most of Blue's life for one. Ralph Angel for all his faults has at least been there for Blue. Also as long as his name is on the birth certificate Ralph Angel is Blue's father legally. St Joe is the only home Blue has ever known. Aunt Vi's speech about finding Blue in a shed when he was in Darla's care would go over like a lead balloon in family court. All of this would count in Ralph Angel's favor in court. At best Darla might get partial custody but I could see a judge putting her on supervised visitation given her history if she screws up in court.

Darla had been clean for a year by the time QS begins.

And it wasn't as if Ralph Angel was Blue's custodial parent for the majority of his life. Ernest, Violet & Hollywood were responsible for Blue while Ralph Angel was incarcerated.

And all of the reservations Violet (who self admittedly overly coddles her nephew) still harbors over Darla's addiction, didn't make her any more eager to release Blue into Ralph Angel's custody until he unfairly guilt tripped her.

Any other reason that Ralph Angel might otherwise seem better on paper is strictly by writer's fiat.

I don't know if Darla has ever been in jail, but Ralph Angel did time (I think four years?), so HE was in jail most of Blue's life. Darla was clean and working when she came back into Blue's life; the first time we met RA on the show, he left Blue in a playground to rob a convenience store to get cash to pay Ernest for looking after him (although nobody knows that except the clerk he robbed). For the first few years, I neither one of Blue's parents had their shit together. It fell to the elder generation to raise him, and Darla's parents were part of that because they supported him financially.

I know its a year late. but I just wanted to mention how much I loved  the Phan family and how they embraced Ralph Angel.  That scene where Trinh talks about her family history while rolling spring rolls at the table in view of the alter for past relatives. You could see Ralph Angel thinking about the parallels between Trinh's Grandfather doing everything to make things better for his family and his own Father's struggle.
