Mindthinkr June 19, 2018 Share June 19, 2018 Tonight is grilled kabobs. Chicken, beef, shrimp and portobello mushrooms with the usual onions, mushrooms, peppers and tomatoes etc. There will be saffron rice and grilled asparagus. If you don’t like the veggies I brought feel free to stop at the store on your way to practice and get whatever you’d like. I’ll make some meringues on which we can load marinated berries and whipped cream for desert. It’s 97* so I’ll bring some wine...a chilled rosé would probably match most of these foods but feel free to bring others or an ice cold beer. 4 Link to comment

Mindthinkr June 25, 2018 Share June 25, 2018 Deviled eggs, pimento cheese bites, pulled pork sandwiches (eastern N.C. version) and cream puffs for dessert. (On the dessert I like to add Kaluha to whipped cream to fill them rather than a vanilla cream. I will also make some with a strawberry filling for those who don’t do alcohol...they’re like mini strawberry shortcakes). 4 Link to comment
saber5055 June 26, 2018 Share June 26, 2018 (edited) I was at the grocery yesterday and saw a box of "charcuterie." Thanks to this thread, and Mindthinkr, I knew what it was. Yeay for me! Mindthinkr June 29, 2018 Share June 29, 2018 Tonight is chicken and sausage gumbo served over rice. I’ll have Tabasco but if you prefer another hot sauce please bring it. I make it semi-spicey but with so many of us having different tastes you might need to amp up the level of heat in your individual bowl. A nice tangy lemon meringue pie for desert. 3 Link to comment
