MSquared January 11, 2015 Share January 11, 2015 You know, for all the talk we've been hearing that "Roger's re-signed!!", none of it seems to have come from any of the barely reputable sources out there. I would think that, if indeed he did re-up, before the ink was dry on the contract, Frank would have run to one of his cronies and they would be shouting it from the rooftops with the chorus of angels they believed news such as this deserves. So, until I hear otherwise, I will continue to think The CW has got the bulk of the man's time and he's just hanging around until his plot point of a joke of a character can be dropped. They have a hospital entrance set. I don't care how bad the cgi is, this needs to happen! I don't like her, she just kind of there for me. Of course, I might be the few people that doesn't put the failings of Kiki/Michael at Kristen Alderson's feet. 4 Link to comment

But they're going to just write the story without Chad Duell's opinion in mind. I am pretty sure he can't go to B&B right now. I don't know when Chad signed a new contract but he must have done it in either May 2013 or May of last year, so I am willing to bet he's stuck for a while on GH either way. I am sure that Ron and Frank love KA, and she has a job whenever she wants one. However, considering the way RC and FV have pissed all over GF, TR, SK, KDP, and numerous other soap vets who actually can act and actually do have large fan bases that follow them, I can't imagine ticking off CD or not is even a blip on their radar screen. I'm not sure I'm convinced ME or RH are going anywhere anytime soon. I know they are considered "big fish" in the soap genre, but that's really all they are. They're both middle-aged,average (when measured against prime time) actors, who have spent pretty much their entire careers in a dying genre. Where else are they ever going to get a full-time gig? Lauren has been pointless since the moment she appeared. She has no money, no job, no place to live. Ron shoves her into situations she has no business being in. I don't know how any actor makes that work. That doesn't excuse KA's bad acting—she's very unconvincing as an ingénue—but the character was poorly thought out from the get-go. That's not on KA. The OLTL/GH experiment has ended in a debacle and KA was unpopular as Kiki. I don't think ABC would allow them to bring her back on contract a third time. And yeah, they don't give a shit what most actors think, including Chad Duell. I love Chad and think he's done great work lately and deserves a higher profile, but he is a nobody in terms of fame. He is a young kid GH plucked out of obscurity and gave steady work and he has zero power over them. The only people who play that kind of hardball with Frank are major soap vets or stars, and most of them lose the game because he doesn't give a shit. And I think both ME and FV want ME out. I think that's hilarious that they (allegedly) asked her to take a paycut and she said no. What the hell was she making? Every vet on every show these guys have run - Erika Slezak, TG - has taken major cuts. I'm sure even Roger Howarth did when he first returned to ABC. Easton & Monaco have good chemestry but all of the sudden Silas is all pro Ava Jerome & hasn't been in a scene with Sam in ages. They seem to be going full throttle with Sam & Patrick. I'm not if RC got bored with Michael Easton or if RC/FV sort of know that Easton will be gone sooner than later. I'm not even sure how you redeem characters like Franco & Nina & Ava. I don't care if Nina is crazy, you can't tell me she is a gentle, troubled heart when I see scenes of drugging, inducing premature labor and kidnapping a newborn while leaving the mother to die, and I'm not even an Ava fan.In America, you actually spend twice as much time in the nuthouse than in prison if they deem you crazy, because you aren't paying a debt to society, they want to make sure you won't kill anyone because you are being instructed by fairies. It is no different when they had Luke kill his toddler grandson with his car but didn't even give so much a slap on the rest. He freaking family rushed around to hold his hand, give him an intervention and bullied Lucky into forgiving him. As for Nina, they'll downplay everything that she did as no big deal, because it was Ava. There are numerous characters that I actively hate that I would have rather seen go before her. This show has so many problems that I doubt getting rid of Kiki is going to do much good. I think the writing at DOOL favors an actress with KA's type of skills more than the writing at GH. This, after all, was the soap where Allison Sweeney actually performed a crying scene by going, "Oh, boo hoo". But they stuck with her and worked with her and she eventually emerged as one of the shows top stars. Which brings me to my next reason why DAYS may be a good place for her - unlike FV and RC, who coddled her waaaaaay too much, the DAYS folks might actually work with and push Alderson into developing her acting skills. Roger Howarth just re-signed his contract, I believe, though I didn't know as quickly as I'd hoped since the skies didn't rain blood as I thought they would to mark the day. Michael Easton is reaching the end of his. If there is one of the characters we will be stuck with to the last, it will be the worst of them all. You're right there. She will most likely get an exit story because well opportunity and who she is to Frank/Ron. Most likely, I'm guessing Kiki will disappear due to Fluke to send a message to Ava/Julian. They'll probably mean to get Lucas, but grab her. It would be hilarious if Johnny purposely botched a hit on Micheal or Morgan, but took out Kiki instead. He's about the only one I think could get away with botching a hit and survive crazy Fluke. Link to comment

It's so lazy and short-sighted to kill off almost every departing character. People move, go away for work or school, etc. I'm not saying that Kiki is a long term character they need to keep viable, but I'm just so sick of everyone who leaves PC doing so in a body bag. Just have Kiki grow up and decide that it's not healthy to keep ping-ponging back and forth between two brothers, and just leave town for a fresh start. Franco and Ava are both in prison but asked to be transferred since it is too painful to be around Port Charles. It turns out that Kiki really was Silas and Nina's daughter so they both leave town following her death. There - 5 characters gone with one death. I would also like to see Sabrina finally have the complete breakdown we know is coming. Carlos and Felix takes her out of town for treatment and, voila, another three characters gone. See, I got rid of 8 characters while only killing off one. As always YMMV. 2 Link to comment
Reo January 12, 2015 Share January 12, 2015 (edited) I think if KA is ever brought on again, it would be as part of a Starr/Todd package (if GH gets back the rights from PP). This makes Kiki completely expendable. However, I'm not a fan of killing off characters just to get rid of them. It's a hypocritical permanent exit on the part of the show. At this point it's just stupid for anyone in Port Charles to think of death as anything other than a temporary inconvenience. I'm just tired of watching people randomly killed. You have to give credit to GH for a special accomplishment here - they've managed to make death boring and violence annoying. If Kiki has to leave, have her take the baby to raise and go live with Delia. She'll have to get a job in the bar but it will be good for her, especially since it would be a fabulous place to overhear secrets and gossip/lie about it. I can see a character like Kiki becoming exactly like her mother in the long run - but - we don't have to watch it. Everyone can forget about her until little Avery grows up and comes to town as a spoiler in Spencer and Emma's romance, while having a fling with bad boy Cameron (who takes after his father.
