Katrina Law talks about new role on The Oath plus her return to Arrow Amy Woolsey March 23, 2018https://culturess.com/2018/03/23/katrina-law-talks-new-role-the-oath-plus-return-to-arrow/ Quote Let’s talk about your role on Arrow. How did you first approach the character of Nyssa? It’s a pretty different show from The Oath because it has a fantastical element. That’s the biggest challenge that I had with Nyssa. I was so fortunate to have a great scene partner in Caity Lotz and a great director in that episode [“Heir to the Demon”], Wendey Stanzler. [The challenge] was trying to make Nyssa grounded and make her a real person. It would have been so easy to make her a two-dimensional, mustache-twirling villain. And I don’t think that would’ve been as fun. I think the reason why people really like her is because she has so much heart and such a soft spot for Sara Lance. And she’s basically unstoppable when it comes to fighting. So, I think just the difference between the two made her well-rounded. Wendey really helped me out in shaping Nyssa in that episode. I don’t know if Nyssa would’ve been the same character without Wendey and her help. * * *Did you think of a backstory for her? Or do you just go off the scripts? The writers have done a pretty great job of giving her a backstory, between her father and the way she was raised… So, it’s pretty easy to go off what’s been written on the page. But I think everybody is kind of hoping that Sara Lance and Nyssa get a backstory someday. We already know what the backstory is, but I think people want to see it. Caity Lotz and I would love to be able to have an episode where we just go, this is how we met on the shores of Lian Yu and how Nyssa taught Sara Lance how to fight and how they fell in love and all that. You wouldn’t be able to say if there’s talk about it… To be honest, I have no idea what’s going to happen on the show, so I can’t even lie to you. Edited March 24, 2018 by tv echo 1 Link to comment

We’re expecting to see some news about the issue itself, as well as some discussion about the Man of Steel’s future under the leadership and direction of creator Brian Michael Bendis so keep hitting that refresh button for the very latest from the con. Taking the stage to represent Superman, moderator Paul Malmont, alongside Jason Fabok, Jim Lee, Dan Jurgens, Alex Sinclair, Norm Rapmund and Marv Wolfman. The panel kicked off with a celebratory video showcasing some highlights from Superman’s 80 year history — “All 1000 issues were in that video,” Malmont joked, “Kudos to our librarian.” * * * As the panel wrapped up, they turned their attention to Lois Lane. “I always thought Lois was awful,” Wolfman joked, “But fortunately in the 80s that started to change. They made her a character who you could absolutely care about — she, Jimmy, Perry, they all bring Superman back to Earth. This is a guy who can fly but he’s strongest when he’s walking with people.” In closing, Lee said that his vision in 80 years for Superman will still find him close to Lois. “She’s the bravest person in the DCU.” Edited March 24, 2018 by tv echo Link to comment

Honestly, will they NEVER catch a break? It’s truly heartbreaking watching the pilot when they were the cute little comic relief science dorks, compared to now where they have more trauma in a few years times than most people amasse in a whole lifetime. I mean, it sucks to be everyone on SHIELD, but they’re never ending misery has become straight up depressing. If your a tv character, I got some advice for you. DONT FALL IN LOVE. DC Launching JUSTICE LEAGUE Line Under NEW JUSTICE Banner By George Marston March 24, 2018https://www.newsarama.com/39196-dc-launching-justice-league-line-under-new-justice-banner.html Quote During its Meet the Publishers panel at WonderCon 2018, DC's Jim Lee, Dan DiDio, Bob Harras, and Scott Snyder announced that following the weekly No Justice series, the publisher will launch "New Justice," a Justice League-centric imprint that will include three Justice League titles as well as other titles such as Teen Titans and Hawkman. In addition to Snyder, Jim Cheung, and Jorge Jimenez's previously announced Justice League series, two other series will spin-off of the core title. First up is Justice League Dark, written by James Tynion IV with art from Alvaro Lopez, Raul Fernandez, and Brad Anderson. Snyder described it as "James Tynion's dream book." The story centers on the creators of magic in the DC Universe coming to take it back, and features a team of Detective Chimp, Zatanna, Man-Bat, Swamp Thing, and others, led by Wonder Woman. Then writer Josh Williamson and artist Stjepan Sejic will create Justice League Odyssey, in which Cyborg, Starfire, Azrael, Jessica Cruz, and Darkseid (yes, Darkseid) explore the universe in one of Brainiac's old head ships with flames painted on the side. Snyder joked that he had initially wanted to name the title "Justice League WTF." * * * All three teams will operate out of the Hall of Justice, with Snyder's core team using it as their headquarters. Snyder's Justice League will pit the team against a new Legion of Doom. Snyder could not reveal which villains would comprise the roster, but promised it would be packed with fan favorites. Additionally, Tynion will co-write some issues of Justice League that weave the Legion of Doom into the story. Also operating out of the Hall of Justice will be a new incarnation of Titans, written by Dan Abnett. Described by Snyder as "the Justice League's AAA farm team," the team is led by Nightwing and Raven and includes Beast Boy, Steel, and Ms. Martian. Meanwhile, writer Adam Glass and artist Bernard Chang will take over Teen Titans with #20, with a story that sends Robin out on his own, leading a team of rebellious young heroes, including Kid Flash, Red Arrow and several completely new characters like Lobo's daughter. Other titles under the "New Justice" banner include the recently announced Hawkman as well as an unnamed project from writer Bryan Edward Hill that may spin-out of his upcoming Detective Comics story which teams Batman and Black Lightning. WonderCon ’18: ‘New Justice’ Initiative Detailed by Scott Synder at DC’s ‘Meet the Publishers’ Panel By Brian Salvatore | March 24th, 2018 http://www.multiversitycomics.com/news/wondercon-18-new-justice-initiative-detailed-by-scott-synder-at-dcs-meet-the-publishers-panel/ Quote But first, Synder talked a bit about the ‘New Justice’ landscape, centered around the Hall of Justice. The Hall will feature ‘magical portals’ that take these various teams to their own headquarters. These teams all talk with one another, and will feature in each others’ books at times – but also have their own jurisdictions. Synder also mentioned that he is bringing back the Legion of Doom, and that those issues will be co-written by James Tynion IV. * * * Snyder also mentioned a book by Bryan Edward Hill, which will spin out of his “Detective Comics” run. This is seemingly going to be a new Outsiders title, featuring Black Lightning, Duke, and Cassandra Cain, based on what we know about Hill’s “Detective” run thus far. Tessa Thompson is joining her Thor: Ragnarok co-star Chris Hemsworth in Sony's Men in Black reboot. Fate of the Furious filmmaker F. Gary Gray is set to direct the movie, written by Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. The studio has the film dated for June 14, 2019. Akin to how Jurassic World revived the Jurassic Park film series, Sony's reboot is to feature new characters rather than Agents K and J, portrayed by original trilogy stars Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith, respectively, and will build on the contemporary sci-fi world in which they operated. Details are being kept hidden under a New York City ventilation tower, but sources say the new project is more of an ensemble piece than a two-hander and will be more global in scope. Hemsworth's deal isn't closed but is expected to. Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald are back as producers, while Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer. No word yet on whether that means we'll also see some iteration of Superman when we visit Earth (if we do, it sounds like he won't be played by Supergirl's Tyler Hoechlin, since Welsh nixed any potential crossovers with The CW's DC shows) but Welsh also teased that the show hopes to visit Hawkman's home of Thanagar, and Adam Strange's adopted planet Rann as the series progresses. Star Cameron Cuffe (who plays our hero, Seg-El, aka Superman's grandfather), said that they view the show as "Flashpoint meets Guardians of the Galaxy, that’s what we’re making, that’s what we’re inspired by." * * * Eagle-eyed fans should also keep an eye out for references to Kryptonian gods Flamebird and Nightwing, Welsh teased: "There's a little Flamebird easter egg that we'll first get to around episode 8... I don't want to give anything away, but watch this space." Welsh also noted that as a society, Krypton has evolved past any hangups about gender, race or sexuality - and it sounds like Adam Strange will be a particularly... adventurous character as the season progresses, with the panelists implying that we might see proof of his sexual preferences in an upcoming scene. "I don’t think Adam’s going to live his life with one hand tied behind his back," star Shaun Sipos hinted of his character. A fan asked whether there's any hope of seeing the Green Lantern Corps on the show at some point, and Welsh conceded "that's something that would be a natural fit for us." But before you get too excited, Dan Evans, DC Entertainment's vice president of creative affairs, hinted that we might see the heroic Omega Men (which counts Green Lantern Kyle Rayner as a member) before we get to the Green Lanterns. * * *"DC isn’t just Earth, it isn't just Metropolis or Gotham... the DC universe is huge, it’s multiple universes," he said, promising that the show will "open the door" to other parts of the cosmic DC universe, allowing them to introduce, "characters that you may not see in other shows that will fit comfortably here... And maybe some different versions of characters you’re used to." Edited March 25, 2018 by tv echo Link to comment

And you can do so much with animation that you can’t do on the live show, which was a treat as well.” * * * The CW has yet to officially renew Legends of Tomorrow for a fourth season. But if it does come back, Ryan will be a series regular. This comes after Ryan filmed multiple guest appearances for the third season, and he is eager to explore Constantine’s place on the team. “On Legends, how is he going to interact with those guys?” asked Ryan. “What kind of dynamic is it going to bring having him on that ship? He doesn’t really work well with the team. Those are the kind of interesting things to see how it develops in that world as well. I hope the fans will enjoy it. My job now is to go back to the comics and see how much more I can gain and gather from what I haven’t read and reread the stuff I have read, and find more interesting things to bring to it... I think I read about 150 (issues) when I was originally doing the show, and then I stopped. And I’ve just picked up Hellblazer: Rebirth, so I’m gonna read that.” Ryan also offered his thoughts on Constantine’s enduring appeal and why he thinks his humor and the darkness go hand in hand. “He can be funny, and he has that wit and charm,” said Ryan. “But it has to juxtapositioned with the darkness, with the torment in his soul. Otherwise it just becomes cheesy. You need to be rooted in that, and that’s really important to me.” Edited March 26, 2018 by tv echo 2 Link to comment

In addition, Rocky Carroll (NCIS) will voice Cyborg's dad and Better Call Saul's Patrick Fabian takes on Hank Henshaw. * * *The Death of Superman, based on the historic 1992 graphic novel by Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern, Louise Simonson & Jerry Ordway, is being called a faithful adaptation of the story. It sees the Man of Steel perishing at the massive hands of Doomsday and the rise of a quartet of potential new Supermen. The stunt rocketed the Superman books to the top of the sales charts and gained DC a ton of media attention, as well as a few disgruntled/heartbroken readers. HARD PASS. The only who is reprising his role is Fillion as Hal/Green Lantern. I don't care if I'm being petty or stubborn or rigid. A story like this DESERVES to have the ORIGINAL actors that voiced/played these characters: TimFucking!Daly, KevinFUCKING!CONROY, Dana Delaney, MichaelFUCKING!Rosenbaum, Susan Eisenberg, Scott Rummell, and CLANCYFUCKING!BROWN! I'm so sick and tired of O'Mara getting the role of Bats. And I don't CAAAAARE what reasons the suits put out. And if Tim's not available to play Supes (as was the case when Justice League was being made), then fucking get George Newbern. 1 Link to comment
Mellowyellow March 27, 2018 Share March 27, 2018 Tim Daly signed up for some play. We are wondering if he will be filming Madam Secretary much next season if it gets renewed. Link to comment

lemotomato March 27, 2018 Share March 27, 2018 (edited) I'm glad the exIstence of the DCEU prevents that from happening. It's finally good for something. The line of heroes walking slo-mo during the last crossover was already too cheesy. Edited March 27, 2018 by lemotomato 3 Link to comment

statsgirl March 28, 2018 Share March 28, 2018 I'm watching Black Lightning. It's ten minutes in and Anissa is on her third outfit. Does she also have a Tardis infinite closet like Felicity has? I love the Jefferson/Lynn flirting. "I can see you too." Adult people. 2 Link to comment

Chief Executive Kevin Tsujihara said in a memo to employees. "This is her decision, and the entire senior management team and I support this." A break to recharge usually means something else is going on but not being talked about. 2 Link to comment
