I think,  though bummed that Emily won't be there,  its actually logical.   I want Emily to do more, clearly she didn't want that,  she hates attention.   Arrow is almost in its sixth year,  its winding down.   Supergirl is still new and still brand new on the cw.  It's the more important show to address.   I want Emily to be there but at this point i can't be mad just slightly dissapointed.

No its no logival. Nobody knows if she wanted to be there or not.  This is part of her job that is part of her contract. Just like SDCC. But it goes by invite.

Honestly, I'm not expecting a whole lot from the panel anyway. They've got one hour to cover 4 shows. Compare that to the 45 minutes for each show in previous years. And I'm sure the focus will be on Supergirl and Flash because one is their shiny new toy and the other is the golden child, so whatever. I think we'll get more interesting tidbits from the pre-panel interviews.

For all we know she negotiated to NOT make appearances, so her not attending could be part of her contract.

So she is going to SDCC but not other events? When Paley is seemingly a much smaller event?

Smh. I don't know. Maybe because it's a smaller event they let her pass on it. Maybe they were only planning on taking the top billed and SG got an exception. Idk.

I have zero understanding of CW PR and no insight into EBRs contract. That's actually my point, it's all speculation here.

No need to be so aggressive.

But it makes no sense. I mean Emily was at the 100th party and we saw some statements about Olicity but the press got more interviews with CP, DP, KC, CL than with Willa and Emily. It doesnt look like she refuses to do thing.

More Arrow comparisons in this EW review of Episode 5 of Iron Fist (I didn't quote anything because it is very spoilery, even though this is a spoilers thread)...

I'm not finding Iron Fist as awful as the critics made it seem. I'm 5 episodes in and I'm enjoying it. The pilot was clunky as hell but I can count on one hand the shows that had great pilots. Finn Jones is about the same as Mike Coulter as Luke Cage for me, they are both dull and lack charisma. So again it seems like the secondary characters are much more interesting. Danny's issue is also he's not convincing as the best martial artists ever, the actress playing Colleen Wing is much more convincing. I'd watch a show about her training and watching her cage fight.

I think this show's problem is, it's tackling by the numbers issues instead of the more thought provoking issues like punishment (Daredevil), consent (Jessica Jones) and race (Luke Cage). It seems like they just threw this show together so they can make the Defenders. So he just gets the tired old oh no a new drug is being put on the street by gangs story.

The only thing I know about Danny/Iron Fist is that he and Luke Cage are best friends. And that the way I learned that was from the 90s Spider-Man cartoon, when they made an appearance together. Marvel, for this latest series, should have introduced Danny either at the end of Jessica Jones or during Luke Cage. Unless they're planning to just ignore the friendship, then, well I got nothin' and y'all can just ignore my blathering.?

I'm watching Iron Fist and it isn't as terrible as everyone says.   I like Colleen and Claire more than Danny if i was honest.

The marvel Netflix shows are really just a million times better at showing how this universe is connected.  I really wish Arrowverse could do a better job at it.

Ill have to disagree and say, Iron Fist is as terrible as the critics say it is IMO. The acting is so hamy from everyone. There's not one actor in the show that holds their own in any compelling way. I'm telling you most CW casts could out act this cast. The Asian actress who plays the martial arts teacher is probably the most passable.

Its watchable but it's by no means good in comparison to other Marvel shows. As in one of those shows you watch knowing its terribad because it's terribad. Kung fu is stupid looking, Iron Fist power is stupid looking and there is no stakes in the show or in the villian vs hero plot.

Plus I totally agree with the Arrow rip off claims. I thought Daredevil adopted a lot of the Arrow OTA dynamic in its series but Iron Fist basically adopted Arrow- there's a Laurel character and a Tommy character, a Malcolm Merlyn character and martial arts girl is a cross between Shado and Diggle.

Also they even copied the season one Arrow super drug plot.

...I was all set to go on about Caity.  But than I see Melissa and wtf gurl,  fire yo stylist.   Stephen you need to hire one.   Congrats David and Brandon, you managed to dress yourselves properly.

I can not with the people on Twitter who are saying that Caity Candice and Melissa looking amazing *rolleyes* unlike the boys who probably just grabbed the first shirt they could find and went with it, the girls probably put actual thought into what they wore to this event..... and they still chose those outfits.

Well, it's clear that the ladies need to fire their stylists and that SA just doesnt care.

However,  i have to give DR props for looking stylish and BR looks adorable in a geeky sort of way.

Caity always tries and fails to do a boho-chic look.  Usually she wears pants or dresses the are dragging on the ground. This time she is wearing something with a pattern that is swallowing her up. She picks out clothes for someone four inches taller than herself.

I like Candace, but I always like Candace, although a belt wouldn't have hurt. Melissa looks unkempt. Satin is a cruel, wrinlky mistress, Melissa!

For the love of god, Stephen, take off your hat.  David Ramsey looks fantastic without looking formal.  It can be done.

CP & DR look amazing!!!! BR looks adorkable, although I do wish someone had adjusted his tie before the pics

Cant really see DH.

The rest of them oh vey :/

GG looks like he should be paddling a gondola. SA looks like hes going to be sitting on his couch watching football. CL looks like walking wallpaper. And MB looks like a waitress from a slightly cheesy Asian restaurant.

Thank god the villain next season won't be a speedster on The Flash. I personally think it should be the evil politician William Heller, and that they should do one season of Flash where the bad guy is targeting the city itself rather than Barry personally.

I also like how Grant said he still doesn't understand why WA broke up. Lol, I knew it. That was such a confusing, nonsensical scene, I don't think anyone involved with that understood it either. Of course, AK admitted that it was a gimmick and that they literally broke up Barry and Kara with their significant others for the purpose of the musical episode. I had a feeling, but you know what, that's still lame. If it all gets fixed in this one episode, I guess I can forgive it.

Those outfits...guys. Really? Did they not tell you what the dress code was? Stephen looks like he's going on a road trip in Arizona, and Grant looks like every guy I took a philosophy class with in college. I like the color of Candace's dress, but not the style. Mellissa and Caity should fire their designers ASAP. Only Brandon and David really look good. Gold stars for both of you, you look great! Please forward your style peoples names to your co-stars!

Candice looks beautiful. That color really suits her. The other outfits...um...no comment. Haha.

I'm only just catching up but this panel sounds a bit messy? At least that's how it's coming across. IDK.

CP looks gorgeous; I like that shade of blue on her. My eyes hurt looking at CL (reminded me of grandma's puke-green couch pattern) and MB looks like she's wearing a pajama set we were made to wear on special nights. SA didn't even make an effort. I appreciate that David Harewood, David Ramsey and Brandon Routh did. Grant looks like he's 12.

Sounded from tweets like Kevin Smith was a mess as a moderator. Paley had to do some damage control on Twitter, clarifying what he said.
