Krypton Prequel From David S. Goyer Nears Pilot Order at Syfy
By Michael Ausiello / April 21 2016, 12:00 PM PDT
http://tvline.com/2016/04/21/krypton-series-prequel-syfy-superman-pilot/

Penned by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel) and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time), Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of Superman’s home planet and follows Supe’s forefather — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.

Sleepy Hollow vet Damian Kindler is set as showrunner and will serve as an EP alongside Goyer.

Doctor Who/Sherlock helmer Colm McCarthy will direct the pilot.

Kindler is an awful writer, I'll pass (Goyer doesn't inspire me with confidence either).

it's settled in the demo but, keeps dropping in viewers (not that that matters much). However, it gives me hope that SPN might take back that 3rd spot before the end of the season. Last new episode of SPN was a 0.7 and 1.75 million viewers. :-)

ETA: LoT dropped in the finals, series/season low of 0.6 and 1.78 million viewers

It's kind of a crappy show. Every time I try to watch I just can't get through more than a few minutes. The Hawklady is the WORST actress I think I've ever seen in a major role on a network show, and sticking her with the Cane Toad? Whose idiotic idea was it to put two terrible characters, one played by a truly terrible actor, together as a couple? BLECH.

  • Love 1

I feared it would adjust down. It was barely at 0.7 in early ratings.

I like Legends but Yeah Hawkgirl is a very bad tv actress. And every episode since the return She and Ray have been featured doing the same Oh woes is us destiny Hawks romance but we'll try any way. And it's a very bad thing. I haven't found one person who really likes Hawkray (or whatever that ship is called). I'm hoping they are both gone at the end of season :p I actually was starting to like him in the early part of the season too. They keep trying to put him into the love interest role and it's a big misfire each time. I feel like the show Is that Ray, Hawk girl plus time stuff. This episode was actually balanced well though an had some good direction and cgi. I'm just wanting a Sara and her rogues show :p

LOT was preempted in Chicago.

It aired in Chicago at it's regular time.

I think they miscast the big villain. If Savage was more of a presence the Legends running around time to stop him would've been better. As it is the episodes without Savage are the better ones. I loved these last two episodes. They were very character heavy.

I think for next season they need to trim the main cast and get a better villain. The other heroes should be one offs like Jonah Hex or be in a 2 parter. Then those heroes can maybe pop up again in future episodes. The season 2 cast should be Rip, Sara, Mick, Snart and Vixen or another female character. They can pick up Firestorm and Atom for a few episodes when they are needed.

Worried for Arrow next week then. Not the over all ratings since people will eventually watch but just the the narrative coming with potential lower ratings. Oh well I'm just sick of the drama I guess :p

LOT was preempted in Chicago.

Hmm, neither TVBTN nor SpoilerTV mentioned the preeption.

I found this list on Spoilertv of Chicago CW preemptions yesterday isn't listed but, maybe it's going forward? Although, it seems crazy that Chicago would preempt 2 days in a row.

Just finished it, it was ok, I enjoyed it for the most part though I think they are traveling through time and leaving things way to clean. There should be some repercussions. I was sad that they killed off the badass Time assassin, I wanted her to get at least one of them and for her to live to fight another day.

It is a shame that Kendra is being used to bring the romance to the series. 3 potential love interests within 11 episodes, just focus on her growing.

Like I said before, I think it's going to get a series low next week. a 0.6-0.8 with audience numbers below 2 million... IDK It's just a bad feeling especially with the lack of promotion

I'm not a Nielsen household, so it's not like I matter, but I'm not interested in the episode based on the little promotion it did get.

The Team focusing on "What Would Laurel Do?", possibly Laurel heavy flashbacks, and L/O kissing?

Pass.

The 5 Characters Actively Casting In ‘The Flash’ Standalone Film

I wonder if

Hawkman returning

means that

Kendra is going to go off with him.

I don't mind Ray and Kendra, I think they're kind of cute together, but I'm really tired of Kendra waffling about whether she should be with Ray or just accept that Hawkman is her only possible mate. Poor Ray, dead Anna, rebound Felicity and now maybe losing Kendra to the (borderline abusive) guy who seems to be stalking her through history.  And I don't mean Vandal Savage.

I must be the only person who likes Kara/James. I think it has potential if the writing got better.  This need to keep couples apart has already screwed up Barry/Iris for me as well as a number of characters on other shows.  On Supergirl, the only good couples seem to be the platonic ones.

I think Ray/Kendra could be really good if it were better written, and Ciara Renee was a better actress. As it is, the story's just too damn repetitive, and CR is unable to convince me that Kendra cares as much about Ray as he does about her. It started out well enough with the two of them geeking out over Star Trek, but it them it devolved into an awkward mess, and I wish it would end.

These showrunners don't do well with romance, unless it evolves naturally out of the chemistry between two actors. I wish they'd remember that before they get any more bright ideas.

I'm not completely watching LOT but every time I've tuned in so far the team stands around talking about their newest plan to (not) stop Vandal while Kendra is off alone thinking about her relationship with Ray. I don't hate them together but I don't get all the focus on their relationship. I did like her old West self though I wish they talked about something other than Ray.

Hehe my hubby likes Kara/James! So there's 2 people around at least!

What does it say about me that I'm watching the 2007 Fantastic Four Silver Surfer movie and I don't recognize the guy playing Johnny as Chris Evans aka Captain America UNTIL he's standing around half naked in a towel and I'm ogling the chest and arm porn?  Good things, right?

Anyone else get the feeling they are going to want to slap the smug and smarmy off the movie Flash's face?

Makes me wonder why anyone would bother with the movies since they're pulling characters already used on the TV Shows.

ETA: I was being facetious...obviously the movie will appeal to a much larger crowd than a CW show. Who knows it might even benefit The Flash show...if it's actually a good movie

I have zero desire to see a Flash movie. The only ones I want to see in the DCEU are Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. DC has not earned my trust to see any movie they release.

I also wonder why they don't just use Bart Allen so they don't have to take anything away from the Flash TV show. And if they do, again I have to ask why? The universes are not connected! It shouldn't matter if there is a Barry Allen, Iris West, Amanda Waller, Deadshot, etc... in tv and in the movies. They have nothing to do with each other.

  • Love 2

I don't mind Kara/James on Supergirl but I think they hinted at attraction/feelings too soon. We easily could have gone this first season without any hints or kisses or whatever. I don't know why they always rush through this stuff.

Also count me in as someone not remotely interested in The Flash movie. I just don't care. I think the TV show has turned me off all things Flash tbh.

I seriously doubt I will see a Flash movie.  I'm almost over the show to be honest and I love GG as Flash - the last episode just made me ready to throw in the towel.

I was out of town so I saw the LoT episode late, but I loved it. What I'm hoping is that LoT will reair at some point (summer or fall if they keep season two a short run) and pick up viewers that way so that season two does much better in the ratings.  I really do love the show.  I like Jax and Stein a LOT but I kind of got the feeling the last episode might be setting Stein up to not be on the second season (or maybe just a guest role).  If that's the case - I will miss him.

Chiming in late on Team Arrow/Team Flash.  First off - if it's between the three shows - Team Legends wins hands down.  They might be the worse time travelers in history (other than Barry himself) but they work really well together as a team. Sara is their glue and they've already proven they will follow her whenever/wherever more than once.

Even with Team Flash supposedly having smarter team members (Caitlyn, Harry, and Cisco vs Felicity) and people with super powers (Flash and Vibe) - I genuinely think Team Legends would neutralize them pretty quickly. Oliver and company would probably be more of a challenge, but I still think Sara and friends could take them.

The obsessive way writers try to keep characters apart makes for uninteresting drama.

That should be tattooed on the forehead of every show-runner.

As soon as Lucy appeared, the dialogue for the characters said "Break Up is coming" but the writing for James/Kara had many people rooting for Lucy/James.

Reading the descriptions of The Flash characters, I think wow, do I not care about any of these.  Snart as pure muscle?  Wentworth Miller has primed me to expect more snark than muscle.  Jay Garrick a fringe scientist?  No thanks.  Eodbald Thawne as Stephen Hawking?

Worst for me is Iris.  For all the problems with the writing of Iris, Candice Patton has made me appreciate the character and it was startling to see a white DID in the drawing.

Iris West is described in the breakdown as having Christiane Amanpour’s brains and Carrie Bradshaw’s style. An overcaffinated doe. I have to admit, I was curious as to whether they'd take any cues from the show and make Iris a WOC for the film as well. Looks like they won't though. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. She's normally a redhead, right? So they're probably just going to go with that for the first film version of The Flash.

They're teasing both Alex/Lord and Cat/Lord, provided that Max Lord ends up a good guy, and that Peter Fancelli is free next season (I think he is in another show).  I'm also getting Alex/Hank vibes for all that the show keeps emphasizing that he's acting like her father.

Speaking of Supergirl, I am now officially over all Cat/Harrison Ford references.  "This is your Working Girl moment" made three by my count. Give it a rest, you know Ford is never going to appear on the show and it's getting insulting to me as a viewer.

Working Girl is a movie with Harrison Ford as the romantic lead in which Melanie Griffiths plays an assistant t(o hardass Sigourney Weaver)  who comes up with a clever idea and ends up with her own office at the end of the movie, and living with Ford's character.

It's a pretty good movie if you can get beyond the dreadful 80's hairstyles and clothes.

Well that's odd. Lol. Is Cat making herself the Ford character in this scenario? I bet the SuperCat shippers had fun with that. :)

I too think Max Lord has chemistry with everyone. I've even thought a frenemies ship with him and Supergirl could be fun.

I don't really feel the Hank/Alex shipping though. I see where it comes from, but there was too much parental overtones with it in the beginning for me to be at all comfortable with it.

Now that Barry has lost his speed, will the show stop the "Run faster, Barry, run faster" every episode? What will they do then?

The thing about the Time Masters on LoT is that by killing the young versions of Team LoT members, they made changes to the time line themselves, starting with Ray's suit and whatever Stein may have discovered so how do they justify punishing Rip etc for their changes but not their own?

Well that's odd. Lol. Is Cat making herself the Ford character in this scenario? I bet the SuperCat shippers had fun with that. :)

No, the Sigourney Weaver evil boss, who was also sleeping with Harrison Ford's character.

Has anyone ever read anything about The Flash EPs pursuing Jessie L. Martin for the roll of Joe West?  If that's the case, now I understand why there was always so much focus on the Barry/Joe relationship with Iris as an afterthought (in the first season, I mean...maybe it's still that way, but I don't know since I don't watch anymore).
