Mellowyellow October 28, 2017 Share October 28, 2017 I didn't enjoy LoT this week! Very dull which was weird for LoT. My ratings this week are: 1. Arrow (by a HUGE margain) - So good!!!! Noobs didn't bother me. I think I've trained myself to ignore them now if my favourite characters get appropriate screen time I can just tune them out! OLICITY IS PERFECT AND EVERYTHING I WANTED FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *does happy dance and swoons* 2. Flash - Didn't mind it even though Iris was super OOC in some parts. It was fun and the villain was different and very enjoyable 3. LoT - Only 2 parts that I loved was Mick "If anyone is going to kill Haircut it's me Lady" and BABY RAY!!!!! Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!! Just as cute as Adult Ray! Will edit when I watch Supergirl. Link to comment

Not that I think it will be so drastic (if families are watching Flash or LoT, Trick or Treating usually ends around 8-8:30 anyway), but I just wonder since I would figure some people might be out at parties or such at night, similar to how people might be doing dinners for Thanksgiving. Spoiler First, Jane and Weller apparently got married but were separated for 18 months because this multi-million dollar bounty was placed on Jane's head, so Jane left Weller and disappeared to protect him. Last night, they reunited. But although Weller wanted to take up where they left off, Jane had reservations. She said to Weller: "Life in Colorado was amazing. I had you, I had peace. I just didn't have a purpose." Sound familiar? On Arrow (401), Felicity said to Oliver: "I was. Deliriously happy with you, but… bored with everything else. I missed this. I missed… saving the city and helping people. It gives my life purpose." Second, Patterson, Reade and Zapata were kidnapped by Venezuelan bad guys because they wanted Patterson - a blonde computer expert - to hack into a computer because she was "the best computer specialist in the FBI." On Arrow, Felicity is one of the world's best hackers. Actually, I thought that she was the world's best hacker until they introduced Cayden James, who's "the most skilled hacker the world has ever known." Now, on Blindspot, I'm waiting for that show to introduce a new male character who's a better hacker than Patterson. Now, before you chime in , I know that these two things are not original to Arrow. Yes, the computer geek girl archetype predates Arrow (and may even predate Smallville). And the idea that a woman can be happy in her marriage but still miss a sense of purpose has been around since the dawn of time. The amount if similarities between Berlanti productions is pretty big, and very noticeable if you're the type of fan who remembers dialogues and stuff. Adding to this for me - Candice is fantastic as Iris and Grant is great as Barry (it's just they don't have much romantic chemistry which is fine - but they both play their characters well). 4 Link to comment

Going down the list: They're only looking at Danielle's portrayal of Killer Frost but I think she was miscast as Caitlin too. When she goes into scientist mode it plays to me like she's still working on her degree rather than a practicing professional. Not in what she says, cause I have no clue, but how she says it. Fortunately, this is an easy fix. Unfortunately, the show's been on long enough that I don't think anyone would give heed to that kind of criticism. I agree that Amell is good as Oliver and Green Arrow. I felt he was initially better as the Hood than Oliver but having Dig and Felicity to play off of helped him grow into latter. I agree that Chris Wood isn't the right choice for Mon-el. He's really good at playing villains, and was the only thing I enjoyed about the sixth season of Vampire Diaries before I quit, but needs to learn how to play a good guy. More often than not, he's just forgettable. Before the characters hooked up, I though he was good as an antagonist for Kara and I wish he'd remained in that role rather than being her schmoopy boyfriend. I will always agree on Caity's portrayal as Sara. She's a good example of when the right role finds the right actor. I doubt she'll ever win any acting awards but she's perfect for Sara and Sara's perfect for her. I disagree on Candace as Iris. The Flash gives her next to nothing to work with yet she's always made me feel for Iris despite rarely having her own story. And I give a huge side-eye to the claim that Candace has limited experience when they gushed about Amell's roles on Queer As Folk and Hung. On QAF, he was in two episodes and didn't have a proper name so they're reaching with that one. Even if Candace was on her first acting job I'd disagree because she elevates the role every episode. I agree with on Emily as Felicity. She's great and watching her with Ramsay and Amell is always a treat. I disagree on Mehcad as James. They wanted James to be a mature version of goofy Jimmy Olsen and that's what he delivers. The stories he's given aren't great but that's nothing to do with his acting. I'm looking forward to him clashing with Lena at CatCo and I hope they bring some more of his personal experience with Lex Luthor's evil into that story. I agree on Victor as Martin. The man is simply awesome and I've never seen him not be. It still makes me mad that I agree on Katie as Laurel. She was the reason I started watching this show and I was expecting a character that would mix snark and vulnerability. I'd seen her do both on various shows but that only showed up in the pilot. After that it was blah city. Even when we consider that Laurel was based on Rachel Dawes rather than Dinah Lance it falls flat. Rachel wasn't a good character but both Holmes and Gyllenhaal gave her a spark that was missing here. I've never been a Calista Flockhart fan but I love her as Cat Grant. She's the opposite of Cassidy in that I expected to watch her scenes in spite of the actress and she ended up one of my favorites. I completely disagree on Grant as Barry. To echo from above, I have many, many problems with Barry Allen but Grant has never been one. If anything, Grant is why I don't throw things at the tv when Barry goes into Big Bad mode. John Barrowman is a treasure and Arrow was smart to land him as Malcolm. I disagree on Josh as Prometheus. He was one of the few signs of life from last season. I agree on Melissa as Kara. She was the right choice. I'm a rare one who loved Kendra and actively misses her so I strongly disagree with that one. I think Ciara did fine with the role but, again, was saddled with an awful story and was opposite that block of wood with less charisma who played Hawkman. I think LOT's mistake was using the Hawks at all. They should have cast Ciara as another DC heroine and I think it would have worked out much better. That was fun! 5 Link to comment

Levi was so good (and crush-worthy). Benanti was good too but her character is less likable. He should do well as Shazam if it's just about the acting. NumberCruncher October 29, 2017 Share October 29, 2017 I LOVE that musical. I got to see Zac and Laura B. perform it live on Broadway. I'm so glad PBS broadcast it because it was a pretty short run. I guess I'm in the minority because I preferred Zac as Fandral a lot more than Josh Dallas in Thor. I thought he fit a lot better with the level of humor in Thor 2 that was missing in the first movie. I know virtually nothing about Shazam so I have no idea how he'll do in the role but hopefully the movie allows for some comedy rather than being the typical dark, broodiness DC is known for. 3 Link to comment

He's a wonderful guy. I've met him a couple times. Just a wonderful guy. You know, awesome physique. He'll fit a Deathstroke costume amazingly... And he'll have his own take on it, you know. And I wish him the very best... It'll be interesting to see how, with all that great production quality, you know, what they can bring visually to the character. But I will say, being able to do a character on television and have several series to flesh out a Slade Wilson, you know, then you can play with a lot of the gray matter and, you know, manage to develop that wealth on the TV show. But, you know, on the big screen, there's going to be a new Deathstroke and, you know, between the two, there's always been this sort of ongoing story where Warner Brothers parent company, which is the feature film arm, have requested, you know, that certain elements of Arrow's world, uh, be finished - you know, things like Deadshot, Harley Quinn, the Suicide Squad, all those things that were gonna be part of the Arrowverse. But, uh, had to held back because of the reason of the film arm wanting to reserve that, you know, for the film... Who knows? That's their decision-making. That's their properties. They know what they're doing in their game, you know, so we just play ball." -- On whether he would do a Deathstroke TV series, MB: "Ah, listen, you know, the speculation of a Deathstroke TV series is, you know, based upon fan comments that have been going on, the fact that the fans would like to see that... Someone posted online and sent it to my twitter account, and I responded, 'yeah, that would be cool.' I want it to be R-rated, I want it to be dark, like Logan... To pay Deathstroke a real service in a TV series, I think you'd want to go darker than anything, you know... Maybe even make it look more international, you know, where he's sort of like an international soldier.... You know, I've had these conversations with Marc Guggenheim after the fact and, you know, Marc was very supportive of the idea, thought it was a great idea. You know, we bandied it about a little bit on twitter and people like Marv Wolfman weighed in, you know.... Also, Geoff Daniels, the Deathstroke illustrator - he weighed in. Everyone was going, 'good idea.' ... So who knows, you know? I mean, at this stage, I guess Warner Brothers is just looking at the feature film. They've announced it, so they're definitely focusing on that... Who knows what will happen after that? You know, maybe they'll get to that point and fans will be like, 'ahhh, yeah, more Deathstroke, more Deathstroke!' You know, if somebody asked me to do a TV series, I - I - you know, I'd definitely not want it to sit in the PG arena. I think, to really pay a homage to Deathstroke independently, you'd want to go hard. But Joe's got a shot at that, you know... I'm really keen to see how gritty that script's gonna be, you know? ... I wonder what it's rating is going to be. It'd be great if it was R rated. That would be great if it was like Logan. That was heavy, really heavy, you know... ETA: I suspect that WB/DC is looking for their own Deadpool success, so I'm guessing the new Deathstroke film is going to be R rated, with a lot of violence and dark humor. He can even do the salmon ladder which is extremely impressive and no easy feat. He also includes a lot of isometric exercises and plank variations. He believes that the best way to stay in shape is to constantly change your workout so that you’re not always doing the same thing day in and day out. He is also a big believer in parkour and does so whenever he can during his hectic schedule. * * *1. GAL GADOT . . . Gal Gadot went through six months of rigorous training to get into fighting shape to play Wonder Woman for the DCEU. There was a lot riding on her nailing the part in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and many agreed that she was the best part of the movie. On top of that, her solo movie has single-handedly proven to a lot of people that there is still hope for some great DC movies in the future. Her workout regimen lasted a total of six hours per day. She spent two hours lifting weights, two hours choreographing her fight scenes and two hours horseback riding.
