BkWurm1 May 24, 2017 Share May 24, 2017 13 hours ago, ruby24 said: I'm going to say this again about The Flash. The shows want to follow the Buffy model, but I think it's time for a return to the good old-fashioned, 1960's/70's-style adventure of the week formula (with the update of ongoing character stuff, relationships, etc.- those old shows didn't have much of that). But that's the way they can keep things fun, funny and lighthearted, which is definitely The Flash at its best. That was actually most of Season 1, since Wells wasn't revealed as RF (to the characters, not the audience) until pretty late in the season. I know they've already set up Devoe (aka The Thinker) for next year, but I really hope they can rethink this basic structure of the season. The show can do a lighthearted episode whenever it wants (the musical, the recent one where Barry lost his memory), it would not be hard for them to just focus on reclaiming that Season 1, light, fun tone. That was what it was originally praised for anyway, but it keeps getting bogged down in angst, and I think it's because they feel like they have to keep this season long threat looming over everything (which can't come to a head until the finale), instead of focusing on individual episodes. Do the threat in a final arc that plays out in the last handful of eps, don't keep it clouding over everything and placing anguish on all the characters all season long. If you want to set the final villain up before that, you can always show him in bits to the audience, but keep it from darkening the rest of the show overall. Sometimes I really wish I could be in the writer's room, lol. This just seems so obvious to me. Yeah, I completely agree. And if they want the big bad to be an ongoing thing, let it be something like what they did with Wells. Let the audience know who to worry about but let the characters keep living their lives. They can face off against the Big Bad's minions without knowing all the fights are coming from the same place. I think Arrow and Flash suffer from the shows not letting us follow the characters through the steps of figuring out who is behind something and how to take them down. Half the fun is watching the characters work together. Give them something to do! Quote When Captain Cold and Black Canary face off, they flirt—"Trying to steal a kiss, Leonard?" Canary asks—referencing the brief romance between Cold and Sara Lance, the Arrowverse's first Black Canary, on Legends of Tomorrow. Hee! So once again Sara gets the nod as the live action version of the Black Canary. Works for me. Hey, Dinah might have a shot at the title but she hasn't even taken on the title yet, lol. 7 Link to comment

She looked pretty cozy in her old office. —Kellen Ausiello: It is not safe to assume that. Despite the fact that Flockhart was listed among the series regulars in Supergirl‘s official Season 3 press release, I’m told she will not rejoin the full-time ranks. But if the scheduling can be worked out, you can count on her putting in a handful of guest appearances, as she did in Season 2. ruby24 May 25, 2017 Share May 25, 2017 So, there's at least a couple of people who are pretty sure that Barry and Iris's Save-the-Date card said "November 29, 2017." I couldn't see the numbers, but I also am pretty sure I saw November. And that has to be intentional if that's what it said, because that's crossover week. They may be intending for the wedding to take place during the big 4-show crossover. Ambitious move. I figured they'd want to have Oliver, Diggle, Kara, Felicity, etc, come to the wedding, but I don't know how the other shows are supposed to incorporate that into their own episodes. Maybe there will be some big threat or villain that crashes the whole thing. 4 Link to comment

I don't know if they can schedule LOT at 16 and BL at 13, unless either LOT doesn't get replaced by BL in its time slot, doubt it, or LOT burns it's season off quicker with the break after Xmas being much smaller so it ends in early February. Trini May 25, 2017 Share May 25, 2017 (edited) But I'm trying not to get too excited, because they could easily change the wedding date, too. Also, it seems just a bit too soon for them to get married; however, the show has typically had Barry & Iris reach their relationship milestones quickly. In any case, I wouldn't mind the wedding taking place during crossover week. Logistically, I assume it'd be easier to get all the actors together for that episode. Maybe there will be some big threat or villain that crashes the whole thing. Not sure the wedding would be apart of the crossover. The Flash would air second in the crossover event with Supergirl being the first to open the week, with now Arrow ending the week with the crossovers now. Maybe SG just won't be included in it and just cameo about to go to the wedding at the end of her show. I don't understand why they can't have the crossover starting with the Flash and ending with the Supergirl the Monday after. Because SG starting the week always means the crossover's cant work properly with her being included. I know they like the crossovers all being in the same week, but its impossible to function them with how the show's air. Funny enough now that The Flash and LOT air on the same night, it's truly easier to navigate a crossover anytime since they air on the same night. So they could just as easily have Arrow lead out the event on the Thursday, and carry the crossover story the week after on the Monday and Tuesday. Nobody said the first show in the week has to start it out. Link to comment

Since crossing over from other Planets is now so simple, they could pretty easily just send Supergirl an invitation to the Flash wedding. She gets cousin Kal to cover her city and takes a few friends for a visit to this other world. (Who wouldn't want to go?) They could either just start the plot once she and (insert names here) show up in Central City or something from her world sneaks over with them. They really don't need the world falling apart to have her come by. I'm not saying I want a WestAllen wedding in the crossovers, but it would be a reason to get everyone in the same place and let them just have fun interacting with no pressure for a while and that i would like to see. Also I've heard it suggested that after WestAllen's wedding is all blown up, the threat is handled and they decide to postpone so they can do it right, Olicity takes advantage of the moment and steps in for an impromptu wedding, not caring about the singed peonies or torn clothes as long as all their friends are there. Not necessarily -- Oliver and Felicity were at the "engaged and sending out wedding invitations" stage a year and a half ago. It's personal opinion as to who is emotionally closer -- a couple who were engaged recently because Barry wanted to defy the universe, or a couple who got engaged because they loved each other and thought it was time, were tested and needed to become more mature apart, and are now together again. I think that Oliver and Felicity are closer because Felicity has more agency than Iris does. Oliver is also more mature than Barry is. Edited May 25, 2017 by statsgirl 10 Link to comment
