tennisgurl February 8, 2018 Share February 8, 2018 This show was super bizarre, and I only found out about it near the end of the season, but I am super glad I discovered it. So dark and weird, but also sweet, in a demented way. I was sad that Haley had to say goodbye to Happy, but I love that Happy will be Nicks new imaginary friend! I wonder if Haley will find out? I actually ended up feeling bad for Bad Santa. he was a monster, but he was clearly deeply disturbed, and his past was just awful. That being said, I still cheered when Nick ended him. Also, those lobotomized "kids"...brrrr. Bring on season 2! 3 Link to comment
PreBabylonia February 11, 2018 Share February 11, 2018 I watched this right after seeing the first Altered Carbon - and I actually think this made a lot more sense to me! I am not completely convinced that I want to continue watching it. But...there were parts I really liked, and the humour was nice and quirky. Good to see Christopher Meloni again. Link to comment

AudienceofOne May 19, 2018 Share May 19, 2018 Graphic novels always portray a violent, bloody but darkly humorous world. I had no idea what this was when I started and I'm very surprised it came out of the Syfy Channel, which seems to be specialising in boring, safe and pointless these days (they cancelled Expanse, man!). I kind of loved every gory minute of it. 2 Link to comment

AudienceofOne May 22, 2018 Share May 22, 2018 Thankfully I read about the baby in the microwave scene so I was able to be "otherwise engaged" for that scene. I think I might need to read the comments before every episode from now on. On 25/12/2017 at 4:38 AM, goldil said: I think the Squishies or whatever the hell they are are a big part of it. When Amanda and Hailey were talking about them on the way to the show in the pilot, Amanda asked which one Happy liked the best and Hailey said Happy didn't like them because he thought they were creepy. Then the fake-kidnapped girl had one in her room. I had totally forgotten about the whole 'demon password' thing. Which is weird since that was only last episode. But I agree. 1 Link to comment
AnimeMania October 2, 2018 Share October 2, 2018 TV News Roundup: Ann-Margret Joins ‘Happy!’ Season 2 at Syfy Syfy’s “Happy!” has added Ann-Margret (“Ray Donovan”) to its upcoming second season, and Bryce Lorenzo (“Orange is the New Black”) and Christopher Fitzgerald (“Godless”) have been upped to series regulars. Ann-Margret will play the recurring role of Bebe Debarge, a former siren of stage and screen. Lorenzo returns as Nick Sax’s (Christopher Meloni) estranged daughter, and Fitzgerald is reprising his role as Sonny Shine, a world-renowned children’s entertainer with a dark past and an even darker present. The series follows Sax, a hitman who befriends an imaginary winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt). A premiere date for Season 2 has not yet been announced. 1 Link to comment

mledawn November 25, 2018 Share November 25, 2018 Just started this show and it's fantastic. I was worried Patton Oswald would drive me to distraction, but it's been a perfect blend. I'm not familiar with the comics at all, but I do like the surreal vibe. Merry is hard to like, but I can't blame her for breaking up the marriage. Sax seems like a walking disaster and I'd definitely place the majority of the blame on him. It was good of Merry to help Amanda, though - she definitely could have steered clear. I think I missed what happened that Merry was in the Scarmucci's pocket. I know her mother was threatened, but there has to be more to it, right? Also, Meloni is 57 years old and looks like he could walk on a football field and mow some bodies down, 1 Link to comment

formerlyfreedom January 16, 2019 Share January 16, 2019 We got a second season promo and a premiere date for season two today! Syfy’s Happy! is returning just in time to – as one of the characters insists in this new trailer – make Easter great again. The network has set March 27 for the Season 2 premiere. In its second season, the dark comedy based on the irreverent graphic novel of the same name finds alcoholic ex-cop turned hit man Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) and his bizarre imaginary kinda-unicorn-looking pal Happy (voiced by Patton Oswalt) on the trail of a child kidnapping ring. Or something along those lines – nothing is ever quite what it seems on this show. 3 Link to comment
greenbean February 26, 2019 Share February 26, 2019 I binged watch this show last week and absolutely love it. I knew I was all in when Happy found Nick in the ambulance and sang his song. 🎵The happy horse, horse, horse. So full of fun of course, of course! 🎵 lol! I was legit like Nick, whoa, what is this!? Oswalt is perfect as Happy. And I didn't think Meloni would ever again reach the heights of Keller, but Nick Sax is the perfect character for him to let loose. 3 Link to comment

Agreed, very slow start but, it got much better towards the end. Son highlights (for me) Sunny Shine selling New Easter to the Church and the 2 Cardinals are checking out the little boy. Mere/Sake reunion. I liked their messed up partnership towards the end of S1. Although, I prefered Mere/Amanda last season. I like that Mere is still trying to take down Sunny Shine. The Granny/Isabella/Blue scene was fantastic. Might be tied for best scene in the episode. The Saks fight scene at the end had me howling. That was a straight up comic scene. Nick doing his best not to kill anyone and her endee up killing everyone. The "Prostitute" (I can't believe she doesn't have a name, at least according to IMDb is always fun to see on screen. I figured Smoothie was the Bunny. I have no idea what was going on with those buns at the beginning. Edited March 28, 2019 by Morrigan2575 3 Link to comment

I guess what i didn't understand, maybe i missed the subtitle, was the whole running around like crazy people trying to find the remote detonator. I saw the one nun tell the scared nun that if they all stayed together and prayed they'd be saved. I didn't get why the scared nun went running and actually activated the bombs. good question, i was wondering what that was myself. Edited March 28, 2019 by Morrigan2575 Link to comment
tennisgurl March 28, 2019 Share March 28, 2019 (edited) That really picked up towards the ending! The first part was a bit slow, but things really got better and crazier as the show went on, and I am super excited to see where it goes from here! I love how every season seems to be built around some demented holiday thing. I figured that Smoothie was the bunny, but it was still a good reveal. So is this all a part of Sunny Shines plan to re-brand Easter, or is this part of some larger evil scheme? Dude is seriously creepy, its weird to me that LESS people pick up on his psycho tendencies. The Sak fight at the end was bloody levels of hilarious. I also like seeing him actually trying to be a dad, while also being...himself. The Granny stab attack was definitely a highlight. Well, black licorice bunny probably told the nuns that if they did not find the bomb trigger all the nuns would die, but if they found the trigger, the one that pushed it would live. All the nuns decided to stay together and pray saying they would all go to Heaven together. Then the one nun left, so they all ran around knocking stuff over looking for the trigger. In the police station, the nun said that the one who pressed the trigger would die and the rest would be spared (probably a lie). 1 Link to comment

mjc570 March 29, 2019 Share March 29, 2019 I forgot how much I enjoyed the show, although I was waiting for some kind of bare-assed Meloni run. I also thought the granny attack was the high point, although there were a lot of funny moments. Loved Sonny's cardinal outfit, especially the pom pom. The only thing I didn't like - Smoothie's bunny outfit, neither scary nor creative (unlike every thing else on the show). Could someone help me out here -who's Smoothie? I kind of remember, but not really. Link to comment

Lantern7 March 30, 2019 Share March 30, 2019 Viewer: Okay, so I've watched ten weeks of Deadly Class. Just wall-to-wall nihilism soaked in Eighties callbacks, animated backstories, and blood. I need a fix for surreal comic book action with lots of gore and cursing. SyFy: Well, we got Happy! Viewer: I think I saw that last year. How does the second season begin? SyFy Nuns. Each strapped with C4. Running around Manhattan at night, causing havoc and being the hell out of each other. Then one of them sets off a detonator, thinking she'll blow her up to save her sisters. Instead, the others explode into red mist, and she alone survives. Viewer: [obviously intrigued] Go on . . . Damn. You think SyFy is gonna get hate about the Easter stuff and the obvious Catholic jokes? And that's not including world-class freakazoid Sonny Shine thrown into the mix. This is series that goes deep into the darkness. But it's also funny, and one of the main stars is a little girl's imaginary friend, now attacked to her broken asshole of a father. Happy's still cute . . . though is his hair a little whiter now? I forgot most of the first season, but I'll be sure to remember it in the weeks to come. But I feel I might have to ask Happy for his bottle of bleach, soI can pour in directly on my brain. 3 Link to comment

I know that. The original series was four issues long, and I don’t think Grant Morrison went back to it. I’m just thinking that Happy! would push the envelope far enough to warrant protests. I’m fine with the tone, though. 😜😈 Link to comment
SmithW6079 March 31, 2019 Share March 31, 2019 Oh, Happy. If I had a chance to see Chris Meloni's junk up close, I wouldn't be pouring bleach in my eyes. (Actually, I kind of found that a little homophobic.) I guess Blue's little boy was killed last season if Isabella was the last Scaramucci. Did he and his mom blow up? I'm generally not a fan of ultraviolent, bloody stuff like this, but it was kind of boring until Grandma started stabbing Isabella with her knitting needle (although the nuns blowing up to the tune of "Dominique" was hilariously sick). Did we know Amanda was a dental hygienist? I don't understand why Happy was defending Sonny Shine. I thought he didn't like him because of Hailey, but certainly wasn't he aware of everything that went down last season? I felt bad for Hailey that she was the only kid at school without an imaginary friend because her experiences with Very Bad Santa forced her to grow up. 1 Link to comment
ElectricBoogaloo March 31, 2019 Share March 31, 2019 Damn, grandma was a badass for killing Isabella during prison visitation. Saks falling ass backwards into becoming a pimp and then yelling, "I'm making it weird?" cracked me up.
