Galileo908 May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 Trinette is actually far more competent in this universe. And Lana was an undercover agent. Leave it to the writers to do their homework to justify why she works for the IRS and not the FBI. Cecil continues to be great, and Lana and Trinette were his perfect foils. It's always good to see people actually disgusted by what the Vandertunts are in to. Damn, that ending was amazing. We all knew Dutch (and other Dutch) was gonna do something to Trexler, but not...THAT. Damn. 1 Link to comment
Lantern7 May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 Man, Archer has a durable neck. How long did that goon hold him by the throat? And he drew a nice picture while choking. Well, better than the Cyril we are familiar with, anyway. Nice bit of clusterfuck, drug-addled action leading to Dutch's take on The Last Supper. Cecil is still creepy as fuck, and possibly more insane than Charlotte. Lana isn't a total waste, and she should get points for not shooting or choking anybody. And Poovy's polygamy-based daydreams are always funny. 3 Link to comment
bmoore4026 May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 Loved the bits with Lana and Trinette, along with the flashforward of all of Poovie's children graduating college. Plus the ending was very freaky and ropes you in for the next episode. Speaking of which, only two episodes left this season. Wonder how it'll all end. 1 Link to comment
Chaos Theory May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 The Poovey bit continues to one of the better long term gags. As wells as Cyril's wife leaving him and the Vandertunts Addsm's family creepiness. Did Dutch just murder everyone in like the last supper homage? Because that's kinda...,, Lana and Trinette made a fun pair. 1 Link to comment
TVSpectator May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 I totally loved that scene between Trinette and Lana and yeah, they both sounded like Archer during that conversation but it was still great to hear. Also, I rally enjoyed seeing the flashforward/vision of Poovey's future children graduating and yeah, this Poovey is a dude. Also, the ending where Dutch had all of Trexler's men and Trexler in a Last Supper posed was by far creepy to see but I am also liking how the show brought all of the main cast together. 2 Link to comment
benteen May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 Not as good as recent weeks but still funny. Some of the jokes went on too long. Lana as a Treasury agent was great. Link to comment
ganesh May 11, 2017 Share May 11, 2017 Lana at the IRS makes perfect sense. I'm glad she wasn't just the singer at the club. I didn't think she would be. I guess Pam is a man because the graduation scene had her with a mustache. 1 Link to comment
Morrigan2575 May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 I really liked this week's episode. The pairing to Lana and Trinette was perfect, they played off each other really well. The Vandertunt's are so weird. Loved the flash forward to Poovy's kids graduation. I really loved how the ending played out, everyone meeting up in Len Trexler's creepy mansion. 3 Link to comment
Snookums May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 Quote And Poovy's polygamy-based daydreams are always funny. "He overcame his dyslexia!" Pam and Trinette are a delight. 1 Link to comment
Doyounot May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 Trinette was hilarious! Her and lana played off of each other so well! I just knew there was gonna be some mention of a potato around her but the potato compartment was pretty jokes and when she asked the taboo guy all his guesses were potato related hahaha I also thought it was nice how smart she was in archers mind! Also not affected by the blood even though everyone else was freaking about it and they were all wearing shoes! 1 Link to comment
TresGatos May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 "And it will be a musical!" That line made me want to have all of Eugene Mirman's merkin wearin' incest babies. 2 Link to comment
Joimiaroxeu May 12, 2017 Share May 12, 2017 (edited) This show is so educational. I now know who Pantagruel was. I really like the idea of Lana being a T-man (T-woman?). Now her being a relatively poor singer and standup comic makes sense. Edited May 13, 2017 by Joimiaroxeu 2 Link to comment
cyberfruit May 13, 2017 Share May 13, 2017 (edited) Last night, my only response to seeing Trexler in that profoundly fucked up recreation of the Last Supper was: "...God damn." Like we all knew that Barry/Dutch was off, but holy shit. The writers took him to a new level. I'm enjoying Trinette this time around and enjoyed the Seamus egg tossed in when the group met up at Trexler's mansion. Echoing other posters who commented that Trinette and Lana play off each other really well. Props to the writers for continuing the Poovey fantasy with the Chinese women. I hope Cyril never finds out about the ladies. Edited May 13, 2017 by cyberfruit 1 Link to comment

Yeah, I am really liking Trinette and the potato joke was funny as well. As with the Seamus egg tossed joke, I thought that Trinette just called, Cyril "Seamus" or something? And finally, I am also liking the Poovey fantasy with the Chinese escaped sex slaves. That is something I want to continue with. Link to comment

Maybe since you are right that it also means a PI (not a police officer) but I also like to think that it was a shoutout to the Wee Baby Seamus (and honestly, I am not 100% sure which spelling variation it is supposed to be- "Shamus" or "Seamus"?). lavenderrose May 14, 2017 Share May 14, 2017 I have to say Dreamland is much better than Vice. - I like that Pam is still harboring the Chinese women and caring about them by thinking of them attending Stanford college. - Hate Cyril in both universes so hopefully he has a quick death. - The Lana and Trinette scenes were gold. Loved that Lana is an IRS agent and has a purpose other than being in Archer's fantasies. - Archer is terrible at sex even in Dreamland so that's continuity I guess. - Did not find the 'Lana is a Transvestite' jokes funny. - I like Dreamland Archer better than actual Archer. I liked that the writers instilled some moral reasoning into him this season. - Barry killing all of Drexler's associates setting them up like the last supper was disturbing but funny too. - We still don't have an inkling of who killed Woodhouse so hopefully the last 2 episodes can delve into it. 1 Link to comment

I also liked it much better than Season 6 where they were working for the CIA. - I really do like the whole Pam is now called Poovey and is a guy in Archer's mind/dream. This makes so much sense to me and I also love how they are presenting him as someone who is picturing himself 20+ years into the future not only with the Chinese women but with their future children. Only this show can do it and make it so great to watch. - Cyril to Archer is a dick. So in Archer's mind, Cyril is a dick. - Loved that scene with Trinette and Lana. And I really did like that they made her into IRS agent because does make her something else and gives her character purpose. -I always thought that he was supposed to be really good at sex? Maybe he is really bad but people keep on falling for him because he is so handsome. -I thought that the Transvestite joke was a mix between Trinette being a prostitute and also a continuation about Lana having really big manly hands. - To me, both seems to be the same type of person but Dreamland Archer does have PTSD for being a war hero but that is all I can say about both. - That ending was creepy and yeah, it was pulled off really well. - It was clearly his crack addiction that killed off Woodhouse, RIP. Enigma X May 14, 2017 Share May 14, 2017 (edited) I interpret Pam/Poovey being a guy in Archer's subconscious as him seeing Pam as "one of the guys" as in pals. I think that he relates more to Pam than Cyril, Kreiger, and Ray. And does it seem as if Ray is the most underused regular this season? Edited May 14, 2017 by Enigma X 1 Link to comment

I've definitely felt like Ray's character has kind of fallen off since Pam and Cheryl, especially Cheryl, have moved up in popularity over the seasons. In this universe, Trinette is occupying what is normally Ray's space as he works well with Lana (who also took a while to be established, which is interesting). I really wish the season could have gone back to the 13 episode arc. The Figgis Agency certainly could have used the extra episodes to tie up its many loose ends and Dreamland, while I think it really good -- and much better than TFA --, could have also used the time to flesh out the characters' individual motives. Oh, yeah I really missed the 13 episode count days. They were fun and I love seeing the story being told and it had more room to do one or two stand-alone episodes as well. I wonder why they don't do them anymore? Is it because of the ratings- if so, I thought that it's guaranteed that Archer is going for 10 seasons and then be done or was that just a rumor? benteen May 15, 2017 Share May 15, 2017 I'm okay with their being only 8 episodes as Archer could have some real hit-and-miss episodes with 13. I miss Ray too. He was great in the third episode with the band. Link to comment

Independent George May 15, 2017 Share May 15, 2017 Whoah, I missed that there were only 8 episodes this season. I think it works, though - even at its peak in S2-S3, there were always what felt like 'filler' episodes; by the time we got to 'Vice', it just dragged on too long. This season has been very tightly scripted, and just flows beautifully; doing less (and doing it better) has worked out really well for them. Link to comment

PinkRibbons May 16, 2017 Share May 16, 2017 My theory is that Ray has been sidelined simply because Adam Reed wanted to concentrate more on the production side of things. I've always had the feeling that Ray wasn't originally supposed to be a main character, just a fun side player for the creator to cameo in now and then. But then he became a fan favorite to the point that I found myself forgetting and wondering why he isn't in the opening credits. I can't begrudge Reed for wanting to work on other parts of the show though. 1 Link to comment
