S05.E13: Lucas & Many

Zac was not sorry. At all. He must have been a good talker to get all those girls to believe in him. I'm so glad I don't do this whole internet dating thing, back when I was single, many, many, many years ago, you met people in bars LOL. They were drunk, but at least you knew who they were.

I'm sorry but Jayme needs to get over her sorry self. A stripper pole in her daughter's bedroom? KLASSY! She lost all credibility with me right there and her righteous indignation was just too much. It's hard to believe that people are still this gullible (stupid) after 5 seasons of this crappy show. At one point it looked like Max wanted to take the two girls and knock their heads together for acting so stupid.

I'm also over Nev and his holier than thou attitude. He's such a phony and media whore now that I want to punch him in the face. Max is the only one I can stand now and maybe it's because you can see his impatience showing when talking to these dimwits.

At least Zac admitted that he wasn't sorry and showed his true ugly self and that's fine. He's not the first nor will he be the last to pull this crap on gullible women. What person in their right mind would carry on a conversation this long and send pictures and videos to someone like that before meeting them in person? UGH!

I'm with you about Jayme. She sat on a high horse going on and on about how "gross" it was that he treated her the way he did, and it is, but where was her accountability? She's a mother of 2 young kids and thought it was appropriate to send nudes to a guy she met on Tinder and had never met in person. I found it hard to feel sorry for her and take her side when she clearly didn't use good judgment in this situation or really think about her kids. For her to say "you took time away from my kids and my family" is laughable to me. You chose to spend hours of your precious time with your kids texting and calling some dude who refused to meet up with you. How is that Zac's fault? I don't like the "victims" on this show who never take accountability for their own actions.

Word! Yeah, I had to stop listening to her because I was getting furious at her actions. I am certainly not a prude but my god she was/is a hot mess. Stripper pole next to child toys, sending nudes/videos to a guy on Tindr, and let's not forget trying to find stepdaddy/babydaddy 3, 4,5... on said app? Please girlfriend, take several seats. Something tells me she was just looking for her latest f***stick and though she could have it both ways with "Lucas" and got sucked into her own delusions by Zac. It would be quite hilarious actually if she didn't have kids.

Thing is, she looked kinda pretty and there certainly isn't a shortage of guys in Portland she would have something in common with (unless she's slept her why most of the male population there). It's not some backwater town in the middle of nowhere.

The other two seemed somewhat normal and not bad looking but obviously gullible and somewhat dimwitted.

Exactly. Lady, YOU took time away from your kids. Lucas/Zac doesn't owe your kids anything. That's entirely your fault.

There was a point in the confrontation where I was like, this is pointless, he's not sorry, every night he masturbates to the photos and videos y'all sent him and y'all know it, and he's going to change his password back the second the cameras leave, so let's just wrap this up.

What a dirtbag. I really wish Nev and Max had marched *inside* this guy's parents' home and clued them in on what their son was up to. He's an adult, but still.

I wonder why he told his parents there was a camera crew there. Another lie, I'm sure.

I think the only moment of honesty we saw from Zac was when he told the women he'd miss them. While he was a real dirtbag to conduct his "experiment" to see how far the women would go in chasing after a hot guy, I think chatting with them filled a real need since he didn't have anyone IRL. As Catfish victims go, these shallow idiots don't register very high on my sympathy meter.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who didn't feel sorry for the "victim" in this episode. Something tells me this former playboy model really just wanted to be on TV and played up the dramatics for the camera. She and Nev would make a great fame whoring couple.

I love reading the reviews here about this show. I think it's the only thing that keeps me watching. The people putting out these fake pics are truly damaged people. Sometimes I feel worse for them than the people they are deceiving.

Maybe I've missed something here but no one felt this entire show was fake? Even when they contacted "Zac" after 2 months the background (which appeared to be his bedroom) was fake like it was a green screen. Just asking...

Link to comment

I thought his background bedroom looked like a typical boy's room in suburbia. I also don't think he was visiting his parents' house - I think he lives there. No adult guy with his own apt/house has a bedroom that looks like that, so little boyish.

Maybe now. I suspect he started out as a schlub with no game, and somewhere over the course of the 400+ women, he figured out what worked. Although, we've seen enough past episodes where women would ignore huge red flags that it probably took no effort at all for him to be getting nude pix right from the beginning. I wonder if he got any tips from the show; the producers have had a habit of showing sample messages from catfish.

What a sleazy, little, asshole! You could tell that he really got off pulling one over on women who would never give him the time of day. Wouldn't surprise me if he had anger issues with women. All that smirking was masking something dark.

I just tried googling more information about Jayme, and it turned up that she used to work as an escort. I could see where being an ex-hooker could put off a lot of guys, even though she was at the classy end of the profession. Being an exotic dancer doesn't help, as some hookers use strip clubs to find clients, so guys might wonder just how "ex-" she is.

Yes!  There is something seriously wrong with him. Scarey

i was hoping Max or Nev would tell him they'd call the police if he didn't get rid of the videos

and what was the deal with crazo recording the conversation?

Right! Those were a little scary. Also, the makeup she was wearing made her look very pale. Not sure if that's what she was going for.

She didn't use good judgement, but that doesn't excuse predators like Zac for doing what he was doing.  I think the guy whose pictures he stole should be allowed to sue him.  1k for each photo.  Sue the pants off that asshole, I'd like to see him living on the streets, in a box.

I've been watching Catfish since it started (almost) and whenever I see episodes featuring actors & musicians I get suspicious, like Catfish is also a show to promote people and not so much about real people, at least not all the time. After the episode I began looking for 'Trey' and see what he thought about the whole Catfish thing and found nothing. On Twitter I found out his name is Travis Williams or something, with a link to his IG account. Found a couple of comments from Ursula, the eyebrow girl, who also happens to be an actress...Did they know each other from before? I don't know. I mean, I know Catfish isn't 100% real, but some episodes do seem to have that "Will you be interested in participating in an episode and boost your career?", or maybe it's the other way around. Forever traumatized by Justin and Artis.

I don't agree that he should be called a predator. That's a very strong word to use unless he was hitting up underage girls or assaulted or attempted to assault one of them. Would we say the same about the women that coerced men into sending dick pics and other potentially embarrassing photos/videos? Don't get me wrong, I'm not excusing his behavior but these were grown women that did this sight unseen so they can't cry victim. Zac is a grade A creep, that's for sure, but calling him a predator is a little much in my opinion.

How can they sue him unless he broke state/federal laws? They weren't underage and willfully sent him the pictures/videos, probably even after he made several excuses on why he couldn't meet them or stood them up. So unless he was selling them or posting them online for others to view without consent, I'm not sure any of those ladies would have a legal leg to stand on.

Now that lady from Atlanta that pretended to be a guy and was actually having sex with women using a fake penis is predatory and in my opinion is sexual assault.

First, a predator is someone who preys on people, doesn't matter the age, and yes, if Zac were a woman it would be the same thing.  Predators spot weaknesses and exploit them.

Second, I'm not talking about the women suing him, but what about the man whose photographs he used?  What rights does he have?

Quick question. They found out that Zac was into computer technology. I don't understand why they only looked for photos and videos of the girls on his phone?? If he was as prolific and calculative as they thought, surely he would have transferred all the pics and vids to a computer? and organised them there? Most people I know (including my self) move all their pics and vids to a hard drive / computer to clear space on their phones.

I'll bet he has a hard drive full of all that stuff and organised in folders. I don't understand why nobody mentioned that.

ITA.  Lucas' targets aren't saints by a long shot, but they didn't deserve to be judged, slut-shamed nor victimized by someone who's much worse. Lucas didn't just catfish one, two nor even dozens of women; he catfished hundreds of them, all because of his so-called "experiment." Lucas' initial "whatever" attitude about getting caught showed an arrogance, a selfishness and a douchebaggery of Lochte-esque proportions. Nev's calling Lucas " a shithead" was way too kind.

It's 100% fucked that even a single person in this comments section is defending Zac. As a man, I was absolutely repulsed by him due to both his actions towards these women and his creepy onscreen persona. He never showed any real remorse and very clearly has serious fucking mental disorders. I'm guessing multiple. There is no doubt in my mind that the creep is already back to his old ways, just with a new profile.

Why isn't what Zac did a crime? This kind of predatory behavior is so obviously dangerous. The guy has a screw loose and is destined for failure if nobody steps in. Nev and Max did a great job of exposing him and putting the spotlight on him but more should be done. I don't think he should go to prison but he should definitely have to register as a sex offender and undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Dude needs therapy.

You've got to put things in perspective. Here's a schlubby guy who's getting no attention from women, but has probably been hearing all his life the claim that women don't care about looks and men shouldn't either. Deciding that's BS, he puts it to the test by creating a profile with somebody else's picture, only to have women throwing themselves at the "hot guy". He rolls with it, seeing just how far they'll go, probably getting a bit PO'd along the way. Eventually getting bored (and having gathered enough stroke material to last a lifetime). he tries to put a respectable face on what he's been doing and contacts the show with a vague plan to reveal his "experiment".

I'm really disturbed by the "they're sluts and they weren't vigilant with their virtue so they deserve whatever they got" attitude.  What he did doesn't have to be illegal in order to be exploitative or wrong. Legality is not the only line between acceptable and unacceptable.  What a woman chooses to do with her body on her own terms, including in a professional or personal context, does not mean anyone else has the right to exploit  those choices and exceed the boundaries she has set for herself.  His disregard for the personal boundaries of other people was demonstrated perfectly by his illicit recording of their in-person meeting without advising all present and obtaining their permission. In some states the consent of all parties present is required before any recording can be legally obtained, in others only one party must be aware and consent.  He didn't even try to get their permission, and actively tried to conceal that he was recording.  That alone was creepy beyond belief.

It doesn't give him the right to mess with people's lives. He's better bring honest and then he would have a real chance of getting a partner. Deceiving people us not on.

I agree 100%. The victim us a grown adult. She made the choice to text and send nuts photos to Zac. He didn't hold a gun to her head. Yes time was wasted but you live and learn. She should draw a line under thus experience and move on.

This guy is obviously a sociopath and actuallyI think these women and possibly the guy who’s image he used should have a legal case to sue him for any damages. Certainly if he sold those images of which we can assume he has hundreds

Actually I think there is a valid question around legality. Certainly as regards the unconsensual sharing of such images so if they were to learn he had in fact shared the images revenge porn laws could apply in some jurisdictions and there would certainly be a case for damages
