I think he's just saying Wil de Vry blathers. But talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Will de Vry is awkward as hell but at least he's never complimented someone's acting by saying they raped that scene like a Nazi (which Nelso Branco did).

I don't think that's what he's saying. Think about when Michael Douglas said how he got his oral cancer.

Oh. I actually have absolutely no idea what Michael Douglas said about how he got his oral cancer, but I guess I can guess. Either way though, it's still Nelson Branco being a crude idiot.

I'm going to put this behind spoiler bars because I'm not 100% sure and its kinda crude:

I believe Douglas and other have claimed that sucking a guy's dick and swallowing causes throat cancer.

Tiger, what I believe he said was that

it was a type of cancer that can be caused by HPV, which can be transmitted via oral sex.

That whole Nelson Branco thread doesn't make sense because you can't see the tweet that started it.  But I got the sense that something was said that WvD retweeted, Nelson Branco made a crass joke about mouth cancer, and then another person tweeted offense.

I am a little confused by this tweet from Nelson Branco: https://twitter.com/nelliebranco/status/545354670701834241

I want to point out that someone tweeted in the comments they didn't get the joke b/c their mother died of throat cancer and WdV tweeted back his sympathy. I thought that was nice of him and kind of points out what a dick NB is.

TeeVee is correct about what Douglas said. He was bragging about his history of being a giver with the ladies.

The original tweet was about Julexis being named "Horniest Couple" in Branco's year-end "Best/Worst" article. A few people replied to the original tweet about it being funny/accurate/whatever and WdV replied he thought it was hilarious.

That's when Branco made the mouth cancer comment. Branco was replying to WdV 's tweet that them being named "horniest" was funny.

I'm not sure who should feel more insulted by Branco's tweet - Wil, Nancy, or Wil's live-in girlfriend.

The last news about it was about a month ago Mo was quoted in one of the mags saying something akin to "if we're going to sign, let's sign". And as far as I know, nothing has been said or reported one way or the other since.

IMHO, I think he might actually leave, at least temporarily. Ron appears to be moving various characters into place for a post-Sonny show.

WdV loses points for originally tweeting that he thought the Branco comment was hilarious.

He didn't tweet that he thought the mouth cancer comment/tweet was funny. He thought Julexis being named "horniest couple" by Branco was funny.

After Wil replied that it was hilarious that Branco named Julexis the horniest couple on soaps, that was when Branco made the comment that Wil needed to be tested for mouth cancer. Wil NEVER said the mouth cancer comment was funny. His only reply that I saw was to give the person whose mother died from mouth cancer his sympathy.

In Soap in Depth, Brandon Barash said Valentini has been offering him a long-term contract for a while and he's the one turning it down and if it were up to Kirsten they'd both be on GH for the next 20 years.

Well, good for him for still trying to put himself out there. Bad for me, because while I don't care about Johnny, he's way better than Spin or Nathan. I'm kinda surprised Kirsten never tried to leave GH either, I could see her getting a comedy of some sorts.

Well, she did have a pilot after she left Days. Some stupid show about baseball that got cancelled lickity-split. And then she was recast as Maxie. So, it's not as if she didn't try to do other prime-time projects.

Probably not a great negotiating tactic! You don't want to lower yourself to the "Your Lyft Driver Is: Bradford (Anderson)" level of bargaining for Tic-Tacs and the ConEd bill.

It's extremely extremely unlikely that this show is going to be on the air in 20 years so y'all might want to come up with a plan B.

Is/was Bradford Anderson really an Uber driver? That sounds like something someone who doesn't like him/Spin made up.

Maybe Ric Hearst was professional and it didn't sit well with Ron/Frank or......

he couldn't get a friend of his to sign. That friend he has that is controversial, fired from CBS, announced on twitter this week that he's looking for primetime gigs. During his last stint (Ric Hearst's) the friend was tweeting him and allegedly hanging out with him. Thus the internet rumors of him being Jason then bouncing to Billy Miller. We now know according to SoD that Frank and Billy Miller go to the same gym (yeah MSt has nothing to do with it!) So that's how Jason got mentioned to him. I'm just saying that it kind of adds up. Ron and Frank and ABC are no strangers to controversy. They tell their fans on twitter things that are worse than what most people say in arguments. I'm sure CBS signing Steve Burton and then SK's departure (what he said and that people say they were wrong for letting him leave) are eating at Frank and Ron. Add that to their OLTL 3 and MSt not catching on as expected. An actor, though controversial but with a very devoted fan base would help. And Ric Hearst hasn't delivered. Yet. And Ron is that petty imo.

However, now I have friends who watch Y&R telling me that Christian LeBlanc is headed to GH. As whom?

I don't think he did. I think he didn't get what Frank/Ron wanted, so that was "the problem".

Btw. According to gh happenings, Robin Mattison started taping on Dec 18th, mostly with MSt.

First, how is that RHe's fault? That is the job of the casting director and producers, not an ex-star.

Second, poor Robin Mattson. What awful thing did she do to deserve that?

  • Love 2

How was RHe causing problems last fall when he wasn't on the show then?

I'm pretty sure he didn't show up until this past Feb/Mar.

Sorry, I meant last winter, not last fall. I'm not sure what exactly he did. I was told by more than a couple of people that work on the show, "Ron & Frank don't like him. He whined and acted like a diva." It is probably more Frank than Ron since Ron is based in NYC.

The people who told me this also told me originally the Ric was innocent reveal was going to be closer to NYE, but things moved up and they thought it was to get parts of it over. Julian was originally going to leave that part out and Julexis would be together when Ric revealed himself to be alive and innocent.

My speculation is that they're going to make Ric somewhat involved in this whole thing so that they can get rid of him. Whatever they decide, I'd bet my house his return won't be long term at all. At most he'll be like Wally Kurth - recurring

Actor, plot point character.

I'm not sure what's going on except there may have been rewrites, because some of the stuff I was told was happening before then end of the year will not make a lick of sense with what has aired in the past week, not that that matters to Rin and Frank. Maybe fake spoilers and taping info is being leaked.

I think/hope the Cassadine talk and the Stefan mentions, maybe he's coming back from the dead.

Sorry, I don't buy ANY of the bad shit about RHearst.  AT ALL.  He's been working in the soap industry since the late 80's I believe (starting on Days) and the guy has a pretty spotless reputation. Everyone on and off camera loves him.  He's a doll, a sweetheart.  Fans love him, producers love him, writers, actors, crew, etc. love him.  I have never heard a bad word about him, and yes, I have inside info in the past.  I've worked with soap actors, behind the scenes people before.  The guy is an absolute professional in every way.  I don't buy any of it.   If they changed Ric's story?  It's not on Rick Hearst.   If Ron and Frank have a problem with him, that's on them.  NOT on Rick Hearst.  Don't buy it, at all, no how, no way. Nuh uh.

That's the point. Ron and Frank don't like him. My sources all have said on multiple occasions, since he first went back earlier in the year, that RC & FV don't like him. Ron and Frank think he's whiny and a diva. I wasn't trying to say he is whiny and a diva, just that the main 2 decision makers think he is. Sorry if I wasn't clear. They thought the same thing about Steve Burton.

I've never met Rick Hearst. Everybody else under the sun can think Rick Hearst is a saint, but if Frank and Ron don't like him, I expect Ric to be in it up to his hairline and to have a bus roll right over him. Ric will have been in on the long con to set up Sonny and Julian from the beginning.

  • Love 1

Bwah! I'm assuming this means they're about to kiss or have some moment of sexual tension because Ron hasn't said "Fuck you!" to Robin enough.

What I don't get is Ron's animosity towards the character.  From what I recall, wasn't the character initially planned to be really truly dead when Ron got here?  And he (and possibly Frank) spoke to KMc about leaving the door open, and she agreed?  And she has done her best to sell every shit turn he's given this story.  What is his damn issue?  Does he resent her because he feels his Patrick/Sabrina plans didn't get a fair shake from the audience?

No, Michael Muhney is not being pursued by GH. For the 99th time.

I wish I could "like" this 99 times.

  • Love 1

I just wanted to make it clear that it absolutely WAS on Frank/Ron and NOT on Rick Hearst.  That there was no whiny diva behavior from him because that's just not Rick Hearst.  If there is any unprofessional behavior going on here, it's all on F/R (which I know that no one here has any difficulty believing).

Are they unaware of the fact that Rick Hearst has won not 1, but 2 Emmys for his role as Ric Lansing?  What is wrong with these people?  They treat Rick like shit, which appears sort of similar to their behavior toward SK's AJ.  From my limited understanding, SK has a controversial history with the show, but both SK as AJ and RH as Ric are brilliant acting wise.  Let's do this, PTB stupid, get rid of and/or throw under the bus the good actors playing gray characters.  Yeah, so smart.

Rick Hearst has been around daytime a loooong time and I've never heard an unkind word about him. I remember some controversy over his hanging in at GH despite the Guza years but I don't remember drama. There are some vets who just rub Frank and Ron the wrong way, usually if they stick up for the character vs. the plot (or are unpardonably obese). Or if they just breathe wrong or are in the way of something else.

That being said, it's gossip for now and I'll see what develops.

Well, it's obvious that they like a certain type of male actor. See: David Gregory. I think Ryan Paevey resembles him in passing, but they've written a more likeable character as opposed to well Ford.

I still think Ron/Frank want to "win" this fake soap war. I didn't say it was smart. Just an observation.

Most recent edition of SOD is "Best and Worst of 2014".  Here's what GH got:

Saddest Twist:  Gabriel Dies

Best Secret:  Sonny Killed A.J.

"For many fans, his [Michael's] taking of the Quartermaine name was a moment of justice 17 years in the making."

Most Preposterous Plot:  Helena, Jason, and Stavros are alive

Best Triangle:  Nathan/Maxie/Levi

Best Breakup:  Carly and Franco

Worst Breakup:  Patrick and Robin

Best Casting Coups:  Donna Mills, Michaelle Stafford, Billy Miller

Most Entertaining Character:  Spencer

Biggest Lothario:  Sonny

Best New Character:  Jordan

Most Entertaining Show
