Well, as I said, she happened to show his character in her post. And from what I can tell looking online, he does give VO workshops.

From what I can tell, he's just voiced one character in multiple video games. I can't imagine that would make him any kind of big deal in the voice acting community.  I googled, and I can't find any evidence of him ever doing any kind of voice acting coaching. The AI answer definitively said he has not, and I couldn't find anything contradicting that. There was a post from someone saying that SBu needs to go to some voice acting lessons himself, but nothing about him coaching anyone. Considering how much he usually promotes all of his side gigs to the fans, I'd expect to see some social media posts from him about it if he was doing any kind of coaching.

I got the opposite answer from AI -- but that contradictory AI info is shocking.

Steve Burton's voice acting classes are available for download as a package. The package includes audio and video files, a digital student workbook, and a journal.

What's included in the package?

Audio and video files: Access to the classes offline

Digital student workbook and journal: A tool to help with the student's voice acting practice

One month of access to the Voicemonkey Academy: Includes a live class, archived classes, bonus classes, and the Voicemonkey Dispatch

Who is Steve Burton?

Steve Burton is an American actor from Indianapolis, Indiana

He is known for voicing Cloud Strife in Final Fantasy and playing Jason Morgan in General Hospital

He also acted in The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives

I also don't think it's him.

I don't, either. If he had a side hustle as a voice coach, he'd be all over social media selling himself as a vocal acting expert. Doesn't he have a podcast with Bradford Anderson? I would assume he'd be plugging his expertise all the time on that but I haven't noticed anything.

This is disappointing, but I respect Mesure for knowing the pace of daytime isn't for him. it didn't look like he was having any problems, unlike other actors (*cough*MB*cough*). At least it was his choice.

It was a worry he had before starting the show, and then had fun doing it. Unless I missed something, there are no current quotes from him in article I linked and no reason given for him “opting to leave the role”.

The change seems sudden compared to other characters whose departure was telegraphed weeks in advance.

Anyhow, he was my only fun reason to watch the show and having him replaced by another OLTL actor doesn’t bode well after the many precious misses.

by another OLTL actor

Chris McKenna has a long resume of both soap and prime time work. I think it’s very unfair to label him ‘another OLTL actor’ as though that’s the only possible reason for hiring him, or he’s somehow inferior because of it. I get the frustration but every EP has his/her favorite actors to work with and this is no different. Chris was never a ‘star’ on OLTL. I don’t even remember his Joey having any breakout stories. And he was quite young when he was cast. He is a solid actor and I welcome him to GH. I’m just not sure Brennan is the right part for him. Or for anyone really. I enjoyed the chem between CMe and LW but the character itself is fairly useless. He’s not doing any WSB work, he’s just flirting with and doing favors for Carly. I could see them recasting to wrap things up but unless they have a plan (ha!) for the character, he can leave anytime.

I mean, he is yet another OLTL actor Frank has a long history with. I think it's a bit tacky. If I cared about Brennan I might be pissed. But I don't, and McKenna has a very active and busy TV career outside of daytime these days besides OLTL. I think it's probably a 6-12 month role tops while they figure out WTF they really want to do with Carly. Brennan has always screamed stopgap measure to me.

And, Mesure didn’t even get to take his clothes off. Opportunity missed. He was such a good casting find. He had unbelievable chemistry with Laura Wight too. I’m sure Chris McKenna will be fine but Mesure was pretty unique and with an Australian accent to boot. He seemed happy in the role and had by all intent and purposes gotten a handle on the daytime pace. I guess in long end he just didn’t think he could continue for whatever reason. I know he had done twitter and then deleted it because he didn’t like the toxic environment it brought. I’m sure he’ll turn up on Netflix or Amazon with some amazing show. Also, did I mention he never got to do a shirtless scene? I did?!  Never mind. LOL!!!!!

He was still on for a while after the election, but I'm remembering now that, a while ago (maybe around a month or so, time is kind of wonky in my brain sometimes), he tweeted something about having a potential stalker. That could account for him shutting down social media.  If it became bad enough, it could potentially even be the reason for leaving the show so abruptly. But I'd definitely bet it had something to do with the social media shutdown, because if I recall correctly, he seemed to be implying that they were using Twitter to stalk/harass him.

I can't say for sure it's a stalker situation, and I hope that it's not. But if it is, yes, I hope they find them and prosecute them. Nobody should have to deal with that.

It just seems super odd to me that they didn't announce it until now, when they've clearly had to know for weeks, since he's last aired Friday and the new guy will be on this week. It makes it seem like they were intentionally keeping it quiet for some reason, and recasts aren't usually something they need to be so hush-hush about.  And the storyline timing makes me think that this was something that happened really fast.

Damn. That's reminding me of the late Andrea Evans who had to quit her role on One Life to Live because she had a stalker. Honestly, if that's true, I don't really blame Charles for leaving. It's really not worth it, and we all know damn well how crazy soap fandom can be. I'm hoping he fled back to a place where he feels safe.

Chris McKenna is a pretty solid actor. I don't remember him playing Joey, though, because I didn't start watching One Life to Live until 1995.
